I was 214 pounds (I'm 5'2) and got winded chasing my son around the living room. I went straight to the RED/GREEN series and am now down to 198 along with eating better. And I can keep up with my running toddler! It was quite a challenge at first and while I still modify some of the poses, I leave having done a great workout! If you're new to hot yoga, I highly recommend starting with Alex Roberts or Kya Warren so you learn the modifications. They are great at going through the levels of each pose. For a high intensity workout, I recommend taking Danny or Bella! I always leave feeling so pumped and having done a great workout. My schedule is limited so I just take who is teaching during my availability but some other great instructors I've taken are: Evan, Danielle, and Katelin.

The only thing that was off for me was, if an instructor substitutes for another instructor, I recommend to please not talk badly about the class you are currently teaching/substituting for. It may not be your level, but the students are in there for a reason. It put a sour mindset for me with that one instructor, and would probably never take that person's class ever again. She cued agency, which I really appreciated. It also felt like she picked up on the emotional energy in the room and met the class there, instead of reacting to it. They do fill up the entire class so the instructor isn't demonstrating how to do the moves, but she does walk around and correct form/help you transition. I appreciated this class was so much more focused on making sure you nail the basics because too many trendy studios try to "push" students do harder moves than their core is ready for. I already weight lift so I like Pilates to help me recover and practice good form (especially because I'm prone to not engage my core enough when I lift!). I'm sure their non beginner class is more challenging, but this was a perfect, restorative Saturday morning work out. I also liked the intro course because there were students from all age groups and no pretentious vibe that I've had at other studios where students judge if you're in aesthetic clothes or not (people ranged from cute fits to comfy gym clothes so you can totally do both here). Looking forward to coming back whenever I need a good recovery stretch and to perfect my core strength!

You can grab 2 yoga mats to make it more cushioned. The class itself was ok, I'm new to yoga so some of the exercises were hard esp holding the position with your abs. For Yoga: don't need to bring anything . They provide yoga mats What kept bothering me was the amount of ants on the ground near where I was. It was super bothersome. I couldn't even concentrate on the class. Even though I killed some ants, there were still more crawling on my mat and around my area. I told the instructor who said she'll let the owner know. I hope the owner cleans the studio. Parking is around the building and free parking. The location of the entrance of the building is on the street side so you'll have to walk to the street side to enter the place.

Workout in a sauna…read more.. Ive done Hot yoga and a few 90°+ degrees HIIT workouts. I thought this would be a good high impact amazing workout. All workouts are in individual/family size saunas. But it's all virtual. Meaning no personal feedback. Coaches dont even know your name and all positive shout outs are embarrassingly generic. At the end of the day, I didnt get a workout, I just got Hot. However, I will say, if they were to add a cold plunge, this would be an amazing recovery gym.

Also, because the saunas are so small, if you see that someone has booked the room, you don't want to be that second person who filled out that tiny space with someone you don't know. And you'd never book as the third. This means that you can't actually get the work out you want cause it's booked by that one person a lot. I give it a two stars cause they do try but their tech is broken and the concept doesn't fully work. We canceled our contract early and we regret ever signing up.

I live 40 minutes away (picked this studio bc its in the middle of the way between me and my friend in dtla) so it was a huge waste of my time to get here. Also they make you pay an extra month after notifying you want to cancel, so be aware of that and read the fine print. My friend who signed up for their $60 month promo was told she needed to stay for a minimum of 2 months even though her contract didnt contain that language in the fine print at all. I dont think this is a unique problem to Yoga 6; a lot of these studios will have these policies but this is probably the worst at enforcing it down to the minute lol! If you have a demanding schedule (busy mommas, attorneys, doctors, etc) this is not the zen studio for you.

Cara gives instant feedback and encouragement throughout her classes and workshops. What I love most about her classes is how she challenges you, but doesn't push you (if that makes sense?) She will challenge you to try new things and connect with your body, but doesn't judge or make you feel bad if your mind/body isn't ready. My other favorite aspect of Cara's classes is the strength she helps you build. There is always a purpose to her flows. This has helped me improve on poses/movements I formally thought impossible. Cara offers regular class, workshops, private trainings, outdoor yoga (summer time) and occasionally partners with local business for fun yoga outings. You should definitely check her out, she is super easy to talk to, and is caring and compassionate towards all who enter her space :)
