I've tried this place three times now. Two events and one visit for drinks and I can confidently say I won't be back. The place somehow manages to feel both dirty and depressing at the same time. The beer wasn't good, and the atmosphere was all the wrong ways. What really completed the experience was the cast of regular characters who permanently attached to the barstools. On more than one occasion, there was a tall bald guy talking about his ex, bragging about his guns, and acting like everyone should be fascinated by his personal drama. . It was less a night out and watching someone's midlife crisis unfold in real time. If you're looking for a fun, welcoming place to spend an evening, just keep driving. If you're looking for stale beer, questionable. Cleanliness and an uncomfortable atmosphere, this might be the place for you. read more

To say I absolutely love going to Necromantic is an understatement. I feel right at home. It's a Halloween vibe all year round. The owner and NEW bartenders pay attention to every detail, respect you as a customer and make you feel like a part of the family every time you walk in the door. They take the time out to talk to every person, while informing you about each brew they have on tap. The addition of Theresa and Shannon is hands down a change for the better! The previous bartenders acted like it was a hang out and couldn't care less about you as a patron. I don't usually leave Yelp reviews or reviews in general. I was showing a friend a new place she can go to as she is near to the area. The reviews I'm seeing are appalling. everyone has their own opinions and I cannot speak for someone else. As for the comments practically harassing and shaming the women who tend the bar is disgusting. As a woman myself to speak about a woman in such way is disturbing. With that said, I've never experienced a problem getting service or attention at the bar. The bartenders are always friendly and attentive. Movies are amazing. Beer is amazing. Horror movies are amazing (though they can also be amazingly bad). But if you take these three amazing things and put them together, you'll get the amazing Necromantic Brew Co. in Farmingdale. I went to this fantastic (or amazing, as you already know) brew spot a few weeks back with amazing (last one) results. First off, you don't have to like sci-fi/horror to enjoy Necromantic Brew Co., but if you have even a small soft spot for that realm of film, you'll be in seventh heaven (or hell, because it's horror). With replicas/memorabilia from movies (and TV shows) like Jaws, Halloween III, Child's Play, Puppet Master, Gremlins, The Twilight Zone, and a ton more it's just so much fun to look around and check out every item scattered about the place (including the bathrooms!). That wondrous nod to horror and the like continues into the beer as the names (and even the colors, well at least of one brew) match the aesthetic vibe. Case in point are beer names like Saison of the Dead, R.I.P.A., Pilsnergeist, and Goseilla (my favorite brew of the trip). On the Saturday we ventured here, it was Ghostbusters Day and besides the movies being shown on the TVs by the bar, there was a brew on tap called Don't Cross the Streams which was a citrus blonde ale of green color (and great taste!). I know the song says call Ghostbusters, but who am I gonna call? Necromantic! Uber corny jokes aside, let's get back to the tastes as a fun fact about Necromantic is that they're a gluten free brewery. This takes nothing away from the definable tastes of their beers and the quality they're producing. So if you have a GF friend who loves a good brew, Necromantic is a place for them. Or perhaps you know someone who just wants a tattoo? That day that my wife and I were there they were indeed offering (real) tattoos (of smaller variety). It added a little more to the overall aura of the place, though don't think for a second that Necromantic isn't friendly. Both people behind the bar were great in telling me a little about the brewery, the beer to go, and (without asking) they gave me a sticker because it was my first time there. Super nice. Overall, I can't say enough about how scary (scary good!) Necromantic Brew Co. is. Of course it helps to be a sci-fi/horror fan to really enjoy the ambiance and get the true gist of the place, but even without that connection, Necromantic is an amazing (okay that's the last one) brewery that's totally worth checking out. read more

Stopped in during a slow evening when the bar was practically empty and was completely ignored while seated at the bar. The bartender was aware I was there but she never acknowledged me, even as others were being helped. This isn't the first time I experienced this here, which makes it more concerning. At that point it starts to feel intentional. Definitely not the level of service I'd expect ! Even on nights I don't order a drink, a simple acknowledgement would be basic courtesy. Necromantic Brew Co. is a great spot that fills a void on busy Main Street in Farmingdale. First and foremost, if you like tasty and unique beers you're in for a treat! They have up to 10 rotating taps and brew everything in house. Prices are $8-9 per pour and the ABV for the drinks go from 6 all the way up to the high 9s. They also offer flights where you get four mini pours for $13, and you can always ask for a small taste too. Next, the vibe here is very relaxed and inviting. Tons of open space makes it easy to bring a group in and actually talk without shouting over music or squeezing by other patrons. Decor consists of some 80s/90s movie memorabilia with a splash of "Halloween bones" all year round, and they have movies looping on the TVs behind the bar. My favorite add-ins are the two free play video games (Mortal Kombat II and Terminator II, yes!) and the three seashells in the bathroom. If you ever saw Demolition Man, you'll get the reference! With all that said, Necromantic is a perfect jumpstart to your night out, or a sweet spot to cap it off. For us, it's usually both! read more

A horror themed brewery? A gluten-free brewery? A horror themed, gluden free brewery? Wow. I was excited to see that there was a horror themed brewery opening up, that i had to check it out. It took me longer than I wanted to to get there, but Im glad i did. I checked them out a couple of weeks ago. I had such a great time that I brought back a couple of friends for a small bday get-together. Both times, the service was outstanding. The bartenders are very friendly & extremely knowledgeable of all things horror. I'm not gluten-free, but that would never be a factor in deciding what I was having. Good beer is good beer no matter what. I was hesitant, as I've never tried gluten-free beer before, but any doubts I had were instantly washed away when I tried the Atomic, a blonde ale with a Vienna millet malt. It was so smooth, with a subtle bready flavor. My favorite of the night, however, was Top of the Wold, which was brewed with gluten-free cotton candy! It was like drinking cotton candy. It was crisp & sweet, but not overly so. The decor has something for every genre of horror fan. We had fun guessing which movies the license plates on the tables were from. The memorabilia around the bar and even in the bathroom was top-notch. They have something for everyone, from mainstream horror classics to the hidden gems you never knew existed. I loved the video behind the bar of horror movie trailers from the early 80s. Whether you're a horror movie fan or not, gluten-free or not, you have to check them out. Went here yesterday and had the oddest experience. My boyfriend ordered a beer, after trying it, his friend asked him how he liked it. He told him "it's ok". That's it. Nothing else. The owner overheard this and came over and took the beer away from him. He didn't say he didn't like it, didn't say he didn't want it, didn't say he'd rather have something else. Just straight up odd behavior of the owner. I didn't even get to order a beer before all this happened. Came here on Halloween with my fully gluten free husband (he has celiac disease) and was emotional (in a good way!!) the whole time. My husband and I have been together for almost 10 years and have never been able to go to a brewery together and just chill and have flights together; in fact, my husband has never been able to have craft beer AT ALL- never a stout or a sour, and only IPAs from cans. On top of it all.... we are HUGE horror/Halloween lovers and when i heard this place was opening up i was like, "ummm was this place made just for you?!" As a drinker of non gf beers, i honestly could not tell the difference- flavorwise everything was on point and delicious (my favorite was the fantastic lemony Chudweiser & his was the sour pumpkin! both so smooth and easy to drink that we had to order more)- I'm really hyped to see what flavors are still to come and to try them all! The owners are also all SO incredibly kind and all 4 took a good chunk of time not only checking in on everyone there, but spending actual time with us; we got to hear a little bit about how they got their start and my husband bonded with one owner over his tattoos because they're a huge fan of his artist's work! Honestly I'm gushing but I can't stop because it was all great. Seeing how happy he was meant everything to me! From the decor, to the two seasonal pumpkin ales on tap, to the friendly owners AND patrons, we had an absolute blast and are already planning our return trip! A horror-themed brewery? I mean, this place was literally made for me! My friends and I decided to take the trek out here after hearing about it from our other favorite horror spot, Strangelove (an oddities boutique in Lindenhurst), so we ended our night at Necromantic. It's right on Main Street, which makes it a perfect late night spot if you plan to hit up restaurants, coffee shops, or other bars in the area. When you first walk in you're greeted by TONS of horror memorabilia everywhere (you can tell the owners poured their love of horror into the space! So cool!) Loads of posters to look at, and nods to all sorts of horror in the decor. There's the bar to your left and a few larger tables scattered throughout where you can have your beers. We decided to sit at the bar as it wasn't super crowded and we wanted to be near the flat screen tv (it plays horror movies whilst you sip!). One important thing to note is this place is entirely gluten-free, which is great for those who need something like that. I'm not, but that didn't affect my experience at all -- everything was on point and tasted just like any craft beer I've ever had! Since there were ten pours to choose from (they rotate monthly, I believe), my friends and I decided to go with the flight, which ran about $13. Four mini pours, my favorite actually being one my friend had, Chillin' and Killin', which had a heavy citrus taste. There's no real food here (I think they just had chips and waters and such), so plan to just come here for some drinks and a good time. The vibe was good -- not too loud or rowdy (they played a good rotation of 80s metal when we were there), and we ended up staying nearly two hours just talking and hanging out. I'm a sucker for a themed place, and being that horror movies are my life blood, I hope this place sticks around for a long time! Highly recommend! read more

Interesting horror theme but had the most annoying arcade game you could imagine, rattling your brain as you're trying to drink beer, which was ironically being played by the owner.
