book club in a bar? what could be better? got the "it's showlime" and it's made with peaflower so it adds a great flavor!

Front. But inside is just so cool.

Movies are amazing. Beer is amazing. Horror movies are amazing (though they can also be amazingly bad). But if you take these three amazing things and put them together, you'll get the amazing Necromantic Brew Co. in Farmingdale. I went to this fantastic (or amazing, as you already know) brew spot a few weeks back with amazing (last one) results. First off, you don't have to like sci-fi/horror to enjoy Necromantic Brew Co., but if you have even a small soft spot for that realm of film, you'll be in seventh heaven (or hell, because it's horror). With replicas/memorabilia from movies (and TV shows) like Jaws, Halloween III, Child's Play, Puppet Master, Gremlins, The Twilight Zone, and a ton more it's just so much fun to look around and check out every item scattered about the place (including the bathrooms!). That wondrous nod to horror and the like continues into the beer as the names (and even the colors, well at least of one brew) match the aesthetic vibe. Case in point are beer names like Saison of the Dead, R.I.P.A., Pilsnergeist, and Goseilla (my favorite brew of the trip). On the Saturday we ventured here, it was Ghostbusters Day and besides the movies being shown on the TVs by the bar, there was a brew on tap called Don't Cross the Streams which was a citrus blonde ale of green color (and great taste!). I know the song says call Ghostbusters, but who am I gonna call? Necromantic! Uber corny jokes aside, let's get back to the tastes as a fun fact about Necromantic is that they're a gluten free brewery. This takes nothing away from the definable tastes of their beers and the quality they're producing. So if you have a GF friend who loves a good brew, Necromantic is a place for them. Or perhaps you know someone who just wants a tattoo? That day that my wife and I were there they were indeed offering (real) tattoos (of smaller variety). It added a little more to the overall aura of the place, though don't think for a second that Necromantic isn't friendly. Both people behind the bar were great in telling me a little about the brewery, the beer to go, and (without asking) they gave me a sticker because it was my first time there. Super nice. Overall, I can't say enough about how scary (scary good!) Necromantic Brew Co. is. Of course it helps to be a sci-fi/horror fan to really enjoy the ambiance and get the true gist of the place, but even without that connection, Necromantic is an amazing (okay that's the last one) brewery that's totally worth checking out.

Just happened to stumble across this inviting Brewery. They are Halloween all year long. We had a few drinks and made some memories watching the group dress up for Beetlejuice. The bartender made us feel welcomed and we sampled a few of their brews.

Any other Demolition Man fans?! This is awesome!

Necromantic Brew Co. is a great spot that fills a void on busy Main Street in Farmingdale. First and foremost, if you like tasty and unique beers you're in for a treat! They have up to 10 rotating taps and brew everything in house. Prices are $8-9 per pour and the ABV for the drinks go from 6 all the way up to the high 9s. They also offer flights where you get four mini pours for $13, and you can always ask for a small taste too. Next, the vibe here is very relaxed and inviting. Tons of open space makes it easy to bring a group in and actually talk without shouting over music or squeezing by other patrons. Decor consists of some 80s/90s movie memorabilia with a splash of "Halloween bones" all year round, and they have movies looping on the TVs behind the bar. My favorite add-ins are the two free play video games (Mortal Kombat II and Terminator II, yes!) and the three seashells in the bathroom. If you ever saw Demolition Man, you'll get the reference! With all that said, Necromantic is a perfect jumpstart to your night out, or a sweet spot to cap it off. For us, it's usually both!

It's so apparent that this place is a complete labor of love. The decor, ambiance, and drinks are great. Swung by to just stop in for a drink with my horror loving boyfriend and ended up staying for 4 hours. Even though we lost miserably at trivia we had a blast. The owner even had spare treats for the pups who stopped by with their owners. Such great vibes!

Necromanic Brewing Co is the absolute best! I love the atmosphere, owners, and beer so much I had my engagement party there. The owners are super friendly and have created a community for us gluten free and horror fans! As a person that developed Celiac late in life, the beer at Necro is the absolute best! You're not stuck drinking ciders if you have a problem with gluten. At Necro you get to enjoy phenomenal flavors crafted for all seasons and even events! There is always something entertaining and fun happening. From paint nights, psychic nights, book club, writers society even karaoke. I have no need to hangout at the other bars on Main Street because of my love of everything at Necro!

I travel from NYC to come here often when I'm visiting family. The event calendar is always stacked... movie screenings, paint and sips, drag bingo. I was never a beer person but I love their selection. I'm celiac and a huge horror fan but my family/friends aren't (they're beer lovers too) and they love it as well! It's also dog friendly. Hope they stay open a long time.

Great selection of craft beers, awesome events every night of the week, and the owner and staff couldn't be friendlier. I highly recommend this place.

This place is serving up some INCREDIBLE beer. My two favorites have been Chud and Changose. The latter is extremely refreshing with agave and lime. This is a brewery that's truly for everyone. The beers are gluten free and perfect for those who need to follow a GF lifestyle. But for those who don't, make no mistake....this beer is outstanding. They have generous sized cans (I believe 32oz) so you can take any of your favorite brews home. They will can it fresh, on the spot, right in front of you. A must visit!

My brother has always wanted to try this place, but we never had a chance to actually step foot inside the Library Cafe. As the name suggests, the restaurant sits at the site of the old town library, and the bar area has tall shelves and a rolling ladder to pay homage to the name. To maximize the restaurant week menu, three of us tried different appetizers. The ahi tuna taco was the best of the lot- crispy shell and nicely prepared tuna filling. The Thai calamari was a little too overcooked and the sweet sauce was cloying. I didn't get to try too much of the French onion soup because my dad almost inhaled it whole, but it was gooey and comforting. I had the honey-soy glazed salmon with broccolini. The salmon was a little dry, but the glaze and cashew went well with it. Maybe a touch of spice could have improved the dish. The broccolini was nicely textured and not too bitter. My mom's fish and chips were underwhelming, though the not-proper "chips" were well fried and seasoned. It was not served with vinegar either. My brother had the Buddha bowl which he enjoyed and felt was a good health conscious option. I did love that they allowed my dad -- who was not feeling too well-- to order just an entree while the rest of the table had the restaurant week menu. I know some restaurants require all members of the table to order off the prix fixe menu sometimes. He had the burger, which was cooked very precisely to medium-rare. We did have dessert though we were stuffed at this point. The sticky toffee pudding cake was lovely, moist, and so decadent without being overly heavy. I ordered the wild berry cheesecake, and while the clearly house made berry compote was a nice touch, it was just a little underwhelming next to the sticky toffee pudding. Overall, we had a good time at the Library Cafe, and though service was a little slow due to sudden rush of diners, it was a fun little weekday dinner. I did see signs for their happy hour, which I'd love to try-- especially their cocktails named after writers!

Never went to a bar that needed a rolling ladder to access the top shelves. The high ceilings ( believe it was a renovated library ) even allowed for a small sailboat to be displayed above the main entrance foyer. Shout out to the staff. We were immediately welcomed by the bartender and informed we could sit anywhere rather than wait to be seated. Our server Annie was exceptional: welcoming, friendly and attentive with some appreciative suggestions from the menu. The menu, excluding the St Patrick's March Menu, was your typical American bar pub food fare: appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and limited entrees. Started off with the onions soup which was cheesy but light on onion slices but very good. Passed on the St Pats March Menu ( except for the Guinness beer ) and stuck with sandwich options. The sandwiches came with a side ( other sides available with an up charge). The sliced steak sandwich, roast beef French Dip sandwich and classic burger were all cooked to perfection and served with either a salad or waffle fries. The Library features an extensive cocktail menu with creative names of famous authors and even novels. In addition there is a separate open air event area ( above and overlooking the restaurant floor ) for private events or parties. Overall a great place to grab a drink and enjoy some good food that's reasonably priced. Definitely will be back when in the area again. One note Street parking is limited but there are municipal parking lots nearby.

From the second we walked in the door she was incredibly rude, bordering on aggressive, like actually yelling at us as we tried to order. I think she was so angry because she's clearly suffering from a some kind of a condition that causes sudden and severe fluctuations in her ability to hear; she would be yelling at us as we tried to order and then suddenly insisting (loudly) that she can't hear a thing we're saying until it was time to fight again. This all capped off with her (I swear I'm not making this up) bizarrely starting an argument with my friend about the pronunciation of the word "orchard". She then threw us out (we were leaving) screaming like a manic, but the fun didn't end there! We stood outside and tried to think of a better place to go and this charming woman came outside not once, not twice, but three times to keep yelling at us for ... well I'm not really sure for what, I guess she didn't like that we were on the sidewalk. Anyway, I wouldn't suggest going here unless your thing is getting senselessly abused by incoherently angry women with black hair.
