It was the first time I came and I thought it was cool and very big. The walls are painted like the beach, hence it being called Sand City. It also oddly smelt like olives. Which I kinda don't mind since I like olives. I met my friend here and we saw three men, as seen in the pictures, dressed as an Oompa Loompa, a blueberry, and Willy Wonka. Pretty sure they were trying to advertise one of their beers. I told the bartender it was my first time there and he asked me what I like. I told him I liked Stella's and he advised that I get the Vespa. Which was really good! There are two entrances and a decent sized parking lot. You can enter the parking lot through the town or on the side road. The parking lot is free, but you cons park on the street which is metered. I'm unsure on how much you have to pay since I don't go into lindenhurst that much. read more

Walked in and was immediately met with an awful smell that was so off putting. I was literally checking my shoes to make sure I didn't step in dog . There was some sort of private party going on? Maybe a retirement party telling from the crowd. They had baskets being raffled off, but overall the vibe was just off. This was my first time checking out Sand City South in Lindenhurst. I took my husband here for his birthday since he's a big beer lover. Once I walked in I noticed how large and spacious it was inside. I also noticed the super strong yeast smell since they brew onsite. They have a very industrial and open floor plan. Including a view of all the brewing tanks. This place is super dog friendly and we saw tons of dogs with their owners on a Friday night. I'm not a big beer drinker but I do love a good sour. I tried their Pomegranate Sour and loved it. Bought some to take home too. The staff were accommodating, and the overall vibe was relaxed and inviting. If you're looking for a spot to enjoy great beer or even a gin cocktail with some pups, you'll definitely like Sand City South. Just be prepared for the strong scent of brewing beer. read more

Great local brewery with a wide variety of original and classic style brews. I had the #18 Breakfast Stout with cold brew and coconut, it was both delicious and just the right amount of flavoring that made this the perfect afternoon beer while sitting by the outdoor fire pit. Just as good as the OG location in Northport Village, with the same awesome beers on tap, but with a different vibe. While Northport's smallish tasting room is funky and intimate, the South location in Lindenhurst is much larger and well suited for bigger groups. So much bigger than the original Northport location! We were in Lindy for the day and decided to finally try out the second Sand City location that is bigger and less IPA'y (is that a term? well, it is now). Even from the outside you can see how much larger this spot is. Inside there are plenty of long tables, window seats, barrel seats, and a few spots at the bar. The TVs only show the Untappd list so if you're going here to watch football, look elsewhere. Two bartenders did a great job of taking care of us. I had their pumpkin beer because tis' the season and my partner had their breakfast stout. Their pumpkin beer is always good and smooth and their stout was DELICIOUS! They had live music going on a Sunday afternoon which was a welcomed treat. I don't believe they serve any food besides bags of chips but you're in Lindenhurst, I guarantee you can find food nearby to bring in. The crowd is definitely on the older side (and by older I mean 30+ since it's a brewery with specific types of beers and your 21 year old brother isn't about to roll in here to drink all afternoon) and that's a good thing! Restrooms are clean, they had the tanks decorated for Halloween (I'll upload a pic), and a great (but not large) selection of beers. read more

Sand City South stands out from all the other breweries. From their wide selection to the staff serving. - The beer list stands about 20+ beers long. From Sours and Stouts to Reds and IPAs. They even do limited cask sometimes. All of them are above par. If you are a craft beer fan, this place is for you. -The menu is on 3 large screens so it is easy to see and read. - The staff is beyond friendly and helpful. Always quick to serve with a smile. - For food, there is usually a food truck. Certain days certain ones will be there; you can find a schedule on their Instagram page. They also have cards on the table so you can order from some of the local restaurants in the area. - There is a big bar to sit at, they also have tables and outdoor seating. - Music is usually playing; they play a wide range of tunes. They also have live music. - Some nights it gets a little crowded but the services is always speedy and without error. If you're a fan of beer, or are looking just to go out and have a good time. Best brewery in my opinion on the island! Always have great staff, never a wait for your beer. Plenty of room for private functions. If you're able to try their handsome maniac ( goes fast) they brew in-house it's a must try. Can't go wrong with any other options though. Food truck outback with a fire pit really nice spot. We love everything about Sand City South. The beers are off the charts, the staff is super knowledgeable and polite.

C'mon, people. This review should speak for itself. It doesn't even need to be written. We shouldn't even still be reading it...and yet, we are. Why? Because Sand City South is just amazing. How amazing? So amazing that it doesn't have to be explained or reviewed for anyone to understand this...but, seeing how Yelp is the place for review-writing, we might as well! In all seriousness, SCS does and should deserve a full review because it isn't the same as the Northport Sand City. I learned this a few weeks ago when my beer-drinking buddy and I ventured south (of course) to Lindenhurst. Well, when I say these Sand City's are different, what I really mean is that their ambiance and overall space varies. Space is a great word and one that can't be found in the OG Sand City of Northport. But head over to Sand City South and you'll find it's almost difficult to rub elbows with anyone else. Even with Covid, SC South has a beautifully spaced out...um, space complete with an outdoor area and a few simple nods to their own beers (I loved the "Oops" series van painted on the wall). You do lose the maritime small town feel of Northport here once you leave the brewery, but it's worth the switch if you don't want to be squished in at that location. Beyond the building and locale it's mostly beer action. As previously stated, you're not getting too much of a difference between each Sand City and that's a glorious thing. The beers that are doled out here just hit on all cylinders. Whether you're drinking an imperial IPA collab with Finback or Root+Branch, diving into a delectable South Down Breakfast Stout with coconut, or looking to get your sour on with some Enough Already Already (not a typo) you just can't go wrong with Sand City brews. Special shout out to Steve from Barrage Brewery (RIP) who apparently came to Sand City to brew their old Man Hands IPA collab. If Sand City can bring breweries back from the dead then consider them godly. Really the only negative I could even venture to say would be that flights were not taking place at the time we visited. This could've been by preference of the brewery or still a Covid aspect, but I'm hoping they return to action soon because I can only drink so many pints of liquid gold when I have to drive. Help a beer lover out and bring back the flights! Overall, Sand City South is just wonderful. The space is everything you'd love to see in Northport (as in there's plenty of room here) and the beers are still the same spectacular stuff. Did I mention the connection with Hermanas Kitchen and Cocktails for food ordering? Yeah, they have that going for themselves too. So what are you waiting for? Get down to Lindenhurst so you can give SCS a proper welcome and review, because we both know things should (or just will, right?) end perfectly. read more

Sand City has the usual industrial setup where the tasting room is part of the brewery at the back. Since the whole place is open, the yeast and hops smell is strong. Loved the breakfast stout and their sour. There is a food truck outside with outdoor seating and they are dog friendly. Good place to chill out if you can stomach the smell. It kind of grew on me and I was okay with it. The staff was very helpful and gave good explanation of the beers and samples. read more

My husband loves this beer we have tried their other location in the north shore so we were excited for this bigger location. You can't complain about the beer or service 10/10, however I took off a star for the ambiance. I get that it was Saturday and it was very crowded and loud inside, however my husband and I could not believe the smell... it was not body odor it was old building...old wood smell and we couldn't stay inside for long. Cool new brewary in Lindenhurst located just south of the train. They had a wide variety of beers on tap, canned beers, and a few bottled. Most of the beers seemed to be IPA's, stouts, or ciders. The pale ale they offered was good also. Prices were very reasonable for a local brewary and the staff was very helpful. They don't have food on premise but they have a partnership with the restaurant next door which you can order through an app and have delivered which is a cool option. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and you order all your beers at the bar. Overall a nice spot to try. Cheers! read more

This brewery is in a great location with some parking right next to the brewery. They offer a plethora of IPAs and also offer some other local breweries. They have a lager on tap which is refreshing on a hot summer day. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. i would highly recommend this brewery if you are into IPAs. read more

In ALL honesty we went last w'end because a friend of mine had her Vegan burgers & fries there for a Street Fair but we were pleasantly surprised how very reasonable the beers were & they had plenty of bar staff even though it was quite crowded. I very much appreciated the 'real' glassware rather than plastic & though it was quite crowded we found seats & were alble to eat @ a table. The beers were MANY w'all sorts of choices & servers were quite knowledgeable of the various beers & able to decern which we would prefer! Bathrooms spotless even w'heavy usage. I was VERY glad they skip the ubiquitous TVs & sports broadcasts blaring and the music instead was quite 'age' varied! GREAT place tp 'hang' on a Sat. afternoon! read more

When the worst thing you can say about a brewery is that they didn't have cans of the beer you loved while you were there you know the place is a hit! They had an excellent selection of beers in a number of varieties. A nice selection of other drinks besides beer. The inside is nice and big and they have a very nice outside area. I've been to their location in Northport and enjoyed it and like their "South" location even more. I'm looking forward to returning. read more

Came here on a sunday. Patio was nice but couldnt stay outside because of my young son. The inside was dark, music was screamo and emo. No tv for sunday football, just plain boring and depressing. Such a cool brewery! They had lots of seating inside and out. You were sitting on the side of the parking lot but it didn't feel like it. The beer was great with lots of variety. We went when an oyster tent was outside and had a few oyster appetizers which was delicious and fun to do while sipping the beer. I'm going to go on record and say that this may be the nicest brewery in the country. Honestly though, it really might be. They really out-did themselves here! Absolutely loveeee the beer and the atmosphere. This is the PERFECT place to come out and have a nice time for a few hours and have some kicks beer (or coffee if that's what you're into they have awesome Sail Away coffee on tap) All of the staff is super friendly and they are more than accommodating.
