This place is great! My husband doesn't drink beer, but was able to find something to enjoy. It's very clean and modern. The employees were very nice and made the atmosphere a lot better. There is an inside and outside to it. To get to the entrance, you'll have to go where the train tracks are and park under them. There is a front side but that's for drop offs. You're able to bring 4 beers home with you, in cans. I think there's only a certain amount of their beers that you can take home. I'm unsure of what they are, since I skimmed that area of the menu. There is a 'pizza food truck', but it's attached to the building. After you order, they give you a number and serve it to where you are. Which is cool. The pizza my husband and I got was good, but we got this spicy pizza that was way too hot for me. But it looked like the other pizzas were good as well. I don't even drink beer and I love this place! FYI the entrance is not on Marconi. It's conveniently located facing the LIRR, with plenty of parking right out front. The place is spotless. Looks brand new! Seriously. I asked the bartender when they opened and was surprised that they'd been open for years! We had a huge party and were able to take up two full tables, which was perfect. The pizzas are seriously phenomenal. I wish they had more options but I'm told it would be a different food license for them. The staff were super friendly. This beer garden/food truck pizza is tucked away and a bit hard to find. It has a parking lot out in front with outdoor seating and many tables inside. It's simple. It's clean. It's very friendly. There are about a dozen and a half beers on tap. All reasonably priced and unique. Cold and served with a smile. Through a glass door is literally a pizza truck. They are super friendly with only about 6 pizzas. They are charred and thin and hot and delicious. We had the original and left craving a few more pies. Very kid friendly and there is no pressure to eat and rush. This is a hidden gem and if you like very thin, artisan pizza, put your GPS on and find this place! read more

If you want a friendly, enjoyable environment to enjoy beer and pizza in, check out Root + Branch in Copiague. They make some really delicious beer at this place. They seem to specialize in IPA but they have other kinds as well. I recently had a Culminate Grand Cru: Merlot which is a high powered lambic (9.8%) which was excellent. I've also had the Covered In Nothing Saison which is a farmhouse ale that is barrel-fermented and aged for 15 months in French oak red wine barrels. This was excellent as well and was very tasty. Nothing complements beer better than pizza and luckily Root + Branch has Nico's wood fired pizza available to satisfy any pizza craving. The pizza is nice and thin, crispy but not burnt, just the way I like it. I love this place! read more

What a yummy and welcomed brewery to the LI brewing scene! We came here after visiting somewhere nearby and were unsure if we would like most of their beers since they're mostly IPA based and we tend to stay away from IPAs. Luckily the bartender was so helpful and allowed us to sample a few different beers. I ended up falling in love with a yuzu beer that would typically not be up my alley but this one definitely was! They have a bright inviting space which cannot be said about all breweries. Plenty of seating inside and out with a pizza place onsite for food. We will definitely be back! read more

Root + Branch Brewing is a craft brewery that opened in Copiague, New York in July 2022. It was founded by long-time friends and business partners Anthony Sorice and Ryan Mauban. The duo met when they worked as bartenders at Tørst: a popular craft beer bar in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Sorice eventually became an assistant brewer at Brooklyn's Three's Brewing Company and later head brewer at LIC BEER Project, while Mauban worked around at other Brooklyn restaurants. The two eventually decided to open their own brewery. They officially founded their brewery and brand in 2018 as a gypsy brewing operation. They chose the name 'Root + Branch' in reference to a literary group and magazine that Sorice's old college history professor started with his former colleagues. Sorice has a love for history and philosophy and originally thought about becoming a history professor. The duo brewed their first batches of beer at larger established breweries like Twelve Percent Beer Project (North Haven, CT), Great South Bay Brewery (Bay Shore, NY), and Evil Twin Brewing (Queens, NY). After four years of hard work, they finally opened their own space on Long Island underneath an elevated railway. Sorice and Mauban wanted to offer a food option to encourage their customers to stay at the brewery longer. They enlisted the help of Sorice's father, Frank Sorice: a former pizzaiolo who was experimenting with wood-fired pies in his backyard. Brother Chris Sorice also came on board and the new wood-fired pizza operation was dubbed "Nico's Charred Pies", named for a beloved family dog. My family and I recently visited Root + Branch Brewing for the first time. My wife asked me where I wanted to go to celebrate my 40th Birthday, and I chose Root + Branch without hesitation. Although I had never visited the brewery, I had first tried their beer when they were brewing at Twelve Percent Beer Project (which is just a short drive from my house) and I began following them closely from then on. We really liked the location: small yet intimate, very quiet, chill vibes, not crowded at all. We also liked that it was located right underneath an elevated railway for the Long Island Railroad. My family and I enjoyed watching trains rolling by every so often. The brewery doesn't offer flights but they do offer short pours. I enjoyed samples of "Grammatical Fiction" (New England IPA), "Ben Is Dead" (Double New England IPA), "Reel Ten" (Double New England IPA), and "Drawing The Line" (Triple New England IPA). Every single beer that I tried was fantastic; each one better than the previous one. We were also equally excited to try some pizza from Nico's Charred Pies. We ordered and split the "G&R Upside Down Margherita" (aged and G&R Deli hand-stretched fresh mozz, tomato, Sicilian oregano, pecorino, basil, evoo, grana padano; we opted to add pepperoni, fresh burrata, hot honey) and the "G&R Special White" (aged and G&R Deli hand-stretched fresh mozz, pecorino, garlic, lemon, whipped ricotta, tellicherry black pepper, G&R pistachio pesto, evoo, grana padano). OMG! Not only is the beer at Root + Branch out of this world but so is the pizza! It's been a while since I was this impressed with a brewery (or pizzeria for that matter). We got the delicious sour and the bone in the throat. The sour had the right balance of fruit, tart and hops. I just loved it. This is going to be my default here. The bone in throat was quite a surprise. I was expecting it to be way bitter but it was pleasant. Had great beers and a great time. Made a stop here on my way home from NYC albeit pretty far out of the way and I am very glad I did! I'll start with the best part, the beer! Not only can they brew some great haze, the lager, pilsner and stout were also outstanding in their own right. The Czech pilsner was true to style, crisp and refreshing. And the maple coffee stout was super well balanced. And of course the hazies were as good as can be brewed (on par w other half, tree house, Fidens, trillium etc.). The taproom itself is quite sterile, which I believe is their intent. It's clean, bright, airy and a change from the typical industrial brewery space. The outdoor patio is perfect with ample seating and umbrellas. Only negative is it sits under the rail so the trains can be a little disruptive to outdoor patrons. The beer tenders were knowledgeable and friendly. It was pretty quiet when we were there and we never waited for service. You could tell they had some regulars in the taproom. We got pizza from the Nicos truck that is stationed there and it was very good. Nice thin crust and char from the wood fire. Their staff was friendly and helpful as well. Overall it was a great visit with a cool vibe! If you go, know that the entrance and parking are on Railroad Ave , not Marconi blvd so set your gps accordingly :) read more

I'm actually shocked it's only been brought up once or twice the attitudes of the bartenders, or maybe it's just one specifically that's the issue. Gives no advice whatsoever when you ask for help with the beer menu, acts completely inconvenienced that you'd even ask a question about their beer, just blatantly rude. I really just wanted to walk out I felt so embarrassed but still just ordered something to be nice. But wouldn't you want to promote and hype your product? Weird vibes and it's unfortunate, you can tell it can be a good spot overall. read more

Rude bartender I walked in with my wife and kid. There were a few empty table that could have been put together to accommodate a few pre seating guest to eat and have a few beers. To no help was this guy trying to be helpful if you're gonna be a bartender maybe be a little nicer to customers if you don't like your job quit. Arriving late to this party, and jealousy aside for those that were able to hit up the soft opening on Thursday, Sunday was the day I have been eagerly anticipating. Checking in with those in the know, I came with a mission, to sample at least three drafts, and stay sensible enough to drive a 500+ HP pony home. The indoor space is austere, outside tables plentiful. No live music, no internet password, minimal distractions, save for the passing of the LIRR. Why come here then? I am only here for the beers. Started with 2 small pours. First up was The Castle, a clean, tropical sessionable pale ale. Eyes Without a Face next, juicier and dank (someone wrote somewhere, "dank , the new umami"). Last, or so I thought, was a full pour of Life and Fate X. If you want to know what that was all about, check out my friend Olivia C's notes on Untappd. I overheard, at a boisterous table, that they were sharing a can of the BA Disintegration II in honor of Sandy's birthday! I engaged,and sent my wishes, mentioned it was " a my birthday too" ( 2 weeks ago, actually). I was invited to bring a clean glass to the table and share in this treasure. I am glad I didn't miss this stout, savored the precious few ounces for quite some time. Hat's off to you Anthony Sorice and everyone who made these beers and space our reality! The space was clean and spacious, the staff was patient and helpful, and the pizza truck staff were as well. The spice red pizza is delicious as is the white pizza. In long anticipation... FINALLY they have opened their doors! I remember waiting in sub zero temps at GSB for their releases years ago. These guys know exactly what they're doing. They were even pumping their product out of ETNYC in queens for the longest. The location is pretty weird so if you haven't read the rules on their IG page or website, you will def be in for a spin around the block or 2. The beers are all amazing. Well above 4.0's on Untappd!! Some beers are even for consumption ONSITE ONLY which is a bummer. The place loses a star bc although it is brand new with ample seating both in and out, the place just lacks character and personality. I didn't see any games to play with nor do I remember hearing music in the background. Just a bland white modern space. Regardless tho, I will return! read more

Cool place to hang out have a beer or two. Sometimes they have food trucks that come by as well. I believe they might have put in a kitchen and started making their own food. Been waiting a while for this place to open. The building and patio are recently renovated giving the place a clean, modern appearance. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. A good selection of beers are on tap for the opening weekend. Styles include Pilsner, witbier, pale ale, stout, and ipa. The entrance is on Railroad Ave. You can park on the street for free 5 hour parking, or the LIRR spaces which are free after 5 pm. These guys already had a following before they opened their own place, so I'm sure this brewery will do well and be around for years to come. read more

I haven't had IPAs that taste this good since foam brewery in Burlington vt. I want this place to grow in popularity but not get too popular because it is a perfect little haven and right in my neighborhood!! This is my favorite brewery in Long Island hands down. If you want to try the best IPAs, you have to go here. They had this one beer that tasted like a sour sherbet that was one of the tastiest beers I've had in a long time. I forgot the name of it and I haven't seen it since, but you can't go wrong with any of their beers. That one particular beer knock my socks off though.
