We were able to hash out the designs mostly via email (COVID times and all) and when I came in for my appointment he had a few final questions to make sure I was getting what I wanted. I got my first tattoo with Dee. The tattoo was perfectly done. I couldn't be more pleased with Dee's professionalism and artistry. What is also really awesome is that Dee is pursuing her PhD with a thesis regarding the healing power of tattoos (I may not have worded that correctly). My tattoo was just that a healing and new beginning for me and I'm glad I got to experience it with an artist that believes in the healing of art. I went with a friend who has gotten a few tattoos in the past, she also got a tattoo with Dee. Her tattoo of lavender came out so delicate and almost life like. Go see Dylan! I've been in many shops with sleezy tattoo artists so trust me when I say, Most professional, down to earth, accommodating tattoo artist I've ever had. He has done the last 5 of my tattoos, I drive all the way from troutdale to Forrest grove (hour drive both ways) just so I can have Dylan tattoo me. Plus the shop is ALWAYS clean and tidy, which to me makes me feel like they have pride in their business and what they do. read more

I've been here 3 times since June 2017 when I got my first student tattoo. I had some issues, but it was when I went for my 2nd tattoo [same student] that I felt I finally needed to leave a review. What I don't understand about this place is why the owner doesn't do a consult WITH the student AND the customer at the same time. Why the owner/ instructor, hell, ANYONE doesn't come by to There's no 'teaching' going on and it's weird to me for being a hands-on trade school. I've been to a few. Its why I came here to support students trying to get hours for legal State licensing. I know how they work but none of that teaching is seen by me here at Necropoless. The student, Denise or Dee did decent work on a hot air balloon we worked on together. Lines a little wobbly, but nothing that couldn't be fixed and after the 1st touch-up. It was awesome. The green never got to the emerald color I wanted and was more neon or lime, but I get it. Student and I still loved it. Lot's of compliments. Well. I contacted her again and wanted some simple stars. She knew I wanted a space theme on my sleeve, from our previous talks, and we started brainstorming and I ended up getting a bigger piece. Assuming she'd be the continuing artist on it, we started in sections. The stars turned to the astrology sign and I told her I didn't want ANY BLACK outlines or connected lines on the stars. I wanted vibrant, dark saturated color, think Irezumi/Traditional Japanese color/style. Yeah. You can see the photo and judge for yourself. What made me decide to leave 1-star was what happened in the middle of the tattoo. I told her it was painful and felt different than the balloon. I told her I needed to drink more water, and she kept asking if I could wait and then she'd take a smoke break. That was my fault, cause I didn't say, no. I told her again I was feeling dizzy. She said, almost done. This was supposed to be an hour tattoo and we were at hour THREE. When I started to tell her I felt faint and she kept pressing on telling me to wait and then she'd take a smoke break... I was in shock. When I had to jump up to find a place to lay down before I did faint and she and her co-workers did nothing, I knew I wouldn't return. I think what sucks the most and warrants this 1-star review is that NO ONE has called or reached out from the place, not even to just discuss it or my health. Not her, not Mark Tierney, no one. It fucking sucks to have such an awful experience at a tattoo shop. read more

I didn't get a tattoo here and that's the trouble. Admittedly I was unsure about the style I wanted for my full color mermaid tattoo, maybe neo traditional, maybe realistic, but after some trial and error and direct communication Mark and I finally decided on a realistic 50s pinup style. But eventually Mark admitted that he could neither do this style nor do it within my budget. So because Mark couldn't do this style, not because I didn't want a mermaid, I compromised and chose a second design to accommodate Mark's skills, a small and simple black and white typewriter. I gave him plenty of time, at least a month to prepare, during which I rarely heard from him and never got confirmation back. I contacted him several days and the day before my appointment and still didn't hear back. Confidence shaken, I decided to cancel and lose my $100 deposit. What I found most problematic here was poor communication. I was unsure about the style of my mermaid tattoo because I'm not an artist and I needed more guidance and direction from Mark. Had we discussed style more we would have figured out what I wanted sooner and then, as we discussed at one point, maybe I could have worked with another artist better suited to my project. I feel that I did a respectable amount of research beforehand as the customer and my needs were not being met by the experts. Mark is a nice guy but this entire process and miscommunication has left me discouraged to start the tattoo process all over again. read more

I love this place, especially the amazing artists that work here! I ended up stumbling upon this place after following Ashley Masloff and falling in love with her beautiful artwork. I contacted her asap to create a Makar tattoo from Wind Waker and she already had a design in mind from a previous mockup. Fate!! She also created custom finger tattoos for me and my best friend. Everything has held up so well and she made me feel so comfortable throughout my experience. I love my tattoos and I hope to get many more from her in the future. read more

So everyone knows about my experience at necropolis tattoo i wanted to post my experience, My wife, brother in law, and myself have all had big tattoos done in multiple sessions by Jake. We have spent thousands together, Sometimes its a decent experience other times you get cancled on or sessions extended/shortened on his whim, sometimes with no notice! But my biggest complaint is that I had agreed on a deal with him for a promotion and now 4 sessions later with 2 suprise cancelations...I still have an unfinished tattoo. BUT it gets EVEN better, I paid in full and am now being told the deal isnt being honored and i have to not only make additional payments BUT HIS RATES WENT UP NOW! Dudes a flake and his words no good avoid him and this shop while hes there is my advice. read more

I got my first (& so far only) tattoo here by Dee. We talked specifically about what I wanted the tattoo to be of AND the style of it. She seemed to intuitively know what I was looking for and quickly came up with an amazing sketch. When I arrived to get the tattoo done, she made certain that I understood what was going to be happening and did a great job making certain everything was sterile. After the tattoo was done I was given detailed post care instructions (which I followed diligently). It's been over a year since the tattoo was finished and I have had NO problems with it and regularly get compliments about the quality of the work (even from my 73 year old mother). read more

I would not recommend and will never go back . I would give this place no stars from the last two experiences I had. Where do I start. i got work done 4-25-15 and end up in the ER from a brutal infection the very next day and would have gotten to the emergency room earlier but I am from Seattle WA. When being tattooed my arm swelled double in size and around areas going down my whole arm I was not having worked on IT WAS NOT NORMAL SWELLING. Red streaking occurred in the chair and Ryan asked me what it was and I told him it looks like it could possibly be forming a infection. The mausoleum I had being worked on which he made a mistake on last time had to be put on hold due to the amount of swelling. My boyfriend was with me the whole time and saw everything going on. Swelling occurred horribly before I left the shop and when I wrote Ryan he tried to deny anything. Even asked me not to write him if I was going to point fingers. That shows how much he cares about his client with a infection. I was diagnosed with cellulitis major skin infection the next day after leaving his shop when I went to the ER and the doctors were very concerned. The infection could be life threatening if not caught in time. Even after sending him doctors paper work he denies it being infected telling me this swelling is normal and it is nothing to worry about that my skin may be just irritated from fragrance. I used nothing but the dial soap and lotion I purchased from his shop. One thing I find strange is the last two times I have gone in he has not had me fill out the proper intake paperwork or even consent forms. I have been worked on a total of 3 times from Ryan and two of the first times I was refused to use my 200 dollar deposit. He also put something on my arm I did not agree on or ask for the second trip which was completely crooked. He was supposed to fix it this last time and I was very worried to go back after the mistake. My arm was so swollen in the area he needed to work on that we could not see if the design was still crooked to continue being fixed. Now I have a infection and instead of playing the blame game he should show a little concern. I would never go back to this shop and plan on contacting a few places to make a complaint. I also forgot to mention that some of the tape that he put on the seran wrap actually was taped and the tape was stuck to some of my fresh work. My boyfriend had to help me remove it. I am in pain and never want to experience this again. In a message he sent me he told me he had a prior issue with a bad batch of ink and that could be what the problem is. I had a bad fever, swells, tattoo radiated heat beyond being normal, Swelling was beyond normal and redness spread all across my arm where I did not have work done and also swelling where I did not have work done. I believe a artist telling a customer not to contact them or respond if I come to him with concerns and show him the proper paper work and diagnosis from a doctor is appalling and unprofessional. I believe addressing the issue rather than avoiding it would be the best policy. I am printing up my bank statements tomorrow and am going to try and get my money back. I also meet with the doctor for a follow up tomorrow to check up on the infection. Plus to add to the fact he blocked me on Facebook my main form of contact to avoid me addressing any additional concerns with infection. If someone avoids you if issues arrive then there is obviously a problem. read more

even though this chick.. never even told me her name. opened up the shop for us on superbowl sunday. gave me my first "professional tattoo" and it was crooked and washed out.. it was a shop my cousin recomennded so i went with it but i can say it scared me from getting tattoos done in a shop as all my others were cheaper and better and done in my house from un licenced people.. she didnt say more than 10 words!! i had to spend alot of 44 to get it fixed.. i would never go back there and i think its a teaching shop.. what a joke!!! this place sucks!!! funny thing is.. a bad review goes alot futher than a good review.. i wouldnt even give it one star!! read more
