I've gotten piercings with Nickie and been very happy with them, but I won't be back after my last experience. She took days to respond, canceled the appointment I had, and said she had to reschedule me. Instead of that she stopped responding to me all together. Officially the only place I will ever go to from now on. Nikki is one of the kindest people I have ever meat. I had gotten my belly button piercing at another shop 9 months prior. When I started having an issue with it, thinking it was an allergic reaction, I called them to ask what I needed to do to switch the jewelry. During that phone call I was meet with blame and ridicule of my cleaning regiment. Suffice to say I was uncomfortable with returning to their location. After an hour of looking on line I found Nikki. During the phone call with Nikki I instantly felt supported and sympathized with. She gave me a few tips to sooth the irritation, and also booked me an appointment in the midst of her busy schedule. During my appointment she amazed me once again with her kindness. When she looked at my irritated piercing she determined that the previous piercing shop had given me jewelry that was too long and was causing a rub burn. Even when Nikki changed my jewelry to a shorter piece she made made sure I was comfortable, talking to me and distracting me with laughter. As a result the whole process was almost painless despite the wound's irritation. If I could give Nikki 10 stars I would. Nicki pierced our 4 month old and did such an amazing job with her! Baby girl was naturally a little squirmy but Nicki just rolled with it like a pro and pierced her ears perfectly! After a very disappointing situation with another piercing and tattoo shop that refusing to do my 9.5 y.o. daughter's ears when their website says they don't have an age limit, I reached out to Nickie. Nickie came in on her day off (!), charged a fraction of what the other shop charges, and gave my daughter a beanie boo to remember her first piercings. Nikki at Black Rose saved the day when my 15 year old daughter showed up for a water polo tournament and wasn't going to be allowed to play because she had her nose stud in still. We ran over to Black Rose, without calling or having an appt, and Nikki got us right in and removed the flat back stud and even whipped up a bent back stud for my daughter to put in overnight so the piercing wouldn't start to close. She was so wonderful and wasn't even going to charge us. Obviously we tipped her well (because you should ALWAYS tip your piercer). She truly saved our weekend! We live an hour and a half away, but I could easily see coming back to her for future piercings. read more

Very disappointed with my experience. I had my lip pierced last Spring and the jewelry fell out multiple times (the first time being the day after it was pierced). I came back in and she switched me to a hoop and my husband assisted with. Unfortunately the hoop came out in my sleep. After the 4th time it fell out I contacted the piercer stating that the jewelry fell out in the middle of the night and the piercing had started to close up. I couldn't get the hoop back in. She never replied to my text. The whole experience was super frustrating. All in all I wasted my money and had no piercing to show for it. read more

Nikki is the best. When I went in to get my ears pierced, she could tell I was nervous. She had a good way of getting my mind off of it and made me feel more comfortable about getting my ears pierced, she made me feel more excited than scared. I also liked knowing what she's was doing, as she prepped for my ears, she informed me what was happening at the time as in she let me know that she was just lining the needle up, etc. Also the way of letting you know when she is going to pierce your ear is very helpful in a way. Nikki is very sweet, and very professional when it comes to her work! I always think it's great that you don't have to have an appointment, she does walk- ins which is very helpful and easy at times, the prices aren't bad at all, I think they are very realistic! I have been asked multiple times where I got my piercings done at, and I have always told and recommend people to her because I believe she is the best:) read more

my friend and i went in to get pierced, i got a navel and she got a septum. during my piercing, something happened and she was yanking on something for a couple minutes to release something and it hurt more than the piercing itself. i also think the jewelry is very cheap bc it has been very irritated, red, and gets crusty even though i have been doing all of the upkeep. my friend had an even worse experience. nickie went to pierce her septum with the needle and got halfway through and stopped for some reason, which hurt my friend, and then she had to pierce it again to get all the way through. she fiddled with hers as well and hurt her really bad. within 30 minutes of leaving the shop, the ball on her septum fell out and we had to go back to have it replaced. a couple of hours later it fell out again so my friend texted the number that nickie left for her and to this day she hasn't answered. my friend had to go to a different piercing shop to have it fixed, and paid another $40 for new jewelry. they told her that she had used a very cheap piece of jewelry and that it had permanently damaged the tissue in her nose. it took many phone calls just to make that appointment as well. this was a very negative experience, and our piercer has been silent ever since. i will not be returning. read more
