We were walking by this shop and decided to take a look at what they had. There were many cute items. My daughter found a dress she liked and I found something too. Based on what I picked Amy made a recommendation of another dress that I may like. They were both cute but I really liked what she picked out. I loved that she gave us personal attention helping us try on and style and making recommendations of other pieces and not in a pushy way. I am really a fan. Everyone that works there are wonderful, and they have some of the nicest clothing items in Santa Cruz. They carry some designers I like that I would otherwise have to go to San Franciso to find. A lot of care clearly goes into curating their inventory. Vito is great, he is knowledgeable and helpful, but the other staff I have met there never let me down either. Prices are a little high, but not for the quality you get. Just expect that you will be spending a bit if you are going to get anything. Still, quality costs, and the prices are no higher than you would pay somewhere else for similar quality merchandise. So, for me, love the store, love the people. Downtown needs more Nectar Creations and less Gap. p.s. To Dominique V. who gave a two star review to a great store, seriously, you are such a Karen. There is a giant sign right behind the register that says returns only for store credit. Buyer beware! I ordered online and my order came damaged. After an endless back and forth with the owner I was told to take it up with the post office which is unheard of and finally to spend my own money to ship it back for a refund. Not only did I not get it refunded - I received a repurposed same order shipped back to me- again! I was clear I no longer wanted the item and when I asked why it was shipped back- I was basically told off and that I did everything wrong and that I handled it inappropriately by talking to her directly instead of through the website. Wandered into Nectar with friends during the Sip & Stroll event last weekend. Such a wonderful assortment of colorful clothes and the staff were so helpful! Vito put together a cute summer dress with a coordinating sweater that I tried on - I would never have chosen it but it looked great! My friends and I had so much fun there - definitely recommend a stop in Nectar. BTW - there is plenty of parking in a large lots off Capitola or Monterey and you walk just down into town near the City Hall / Community Center. This is the pacific avenue location of a local fashion boutique type shop. Parking is street only which can be nigh impossible in the downtown santa cruz, but there are both surface lots and parking garages scattered around in every direction a block or so off pacific in any direction. This is the smaller of the two nectar locations in santa cruz, but is richly stocked and laid out with comfortable, stylish clothing that travels well. That comfort and fashion thing is their niche really, although they have some of the better locally made costume styled jewelry on the strip. They also have some of the best handbag selection, along with yeah, scarves hats and suchlike. They favor locally made stuff along with brands such as desa, firedog, onzie, opulent antiquity, and colleen wilcox if that helps you any. The listing states they have mens stuff, but well, not really. This is very much a women's store. Pricing is in the medium range for the area. Full outfits will start at 200 or so, but individual items-blouses, pants, bags and whatnot can be had at fifty bucks or so. There are a couple of excellent women's fashion shops on the pacific avenue/downtown santa cruz and this is one of them. A must stop for the fashion conscious. read more

I visited this store last night, since a friend was doing a return. I was just browsing - but a pair of shorts and a pair of leggings caught my eye. The leggings looked a bit too big for me, despite being an XS, but I didn't feel like trying them on since I was dressed for a night out. I said out loud to the salesgirl: "yeah, they look a little big, but I'll just try them on at home and return them if they don't fit." The girl rang me up for both items, and I left. Fast forward one day: As I had suspected, the leggings are too big, so I head back to nectar to return them. The same salesgirl is working and informs me that they only refund in store credit. Um HELLO, why would she not tell me this last night?! I communicated to her VERY clearly that I was going to return if they didn't fit, which I didn't think they would. She told me "it says store credit only on the receipt". What? If I've already bought the item, because you failed to inform me of the store policy, I'm not going to look to the receipt for guidance. So unprofessional. Now I have an $85 store credit for a single pair of leggings, at a shop nowhere near where I live. Thanks nectar. read more

OMG!!! My husband and I drove to Santa Cruz on New Year's Eve and took a stroll on Pacific ave. Out of all the stores on the street, I found what I wanted at Nectar Creations. Such unique clothing and accessories! I am very picky when it comes to fashion so walking into this store and finding such a variety was very refreshing. I bought a gorgeous pair of animal print leggings. It's been five days and I can't take them off......I finally had to wash them..... I regretted not purchasing two pairs. No worries! I contacted the owner, Vito, and he replied to my email right away. We spoke on the phone and when we were done, I was the owner of TWO animal-print leggings! I am going to get them by Tuesday!!! I recently spent the day in Santa Cruz and did some shopping on Pacific Ave. I went into this store, which looked like "yoga clothes." Although I don't do yoga, I decided to go in. I was assisted by the store manager, Vito and found the store and his service to be AMAZING. I love it when I go clothes shopping where someone will pick out some pieces for me to try.
