This rating is because of the experiences from the 3 times I've visited. If you wish to be ignored completely and feel like you're a bother to the one employee, this is the place to go. 2 of the times I've went the employee has been chatting with a friend before I entered the shop and when entering had no hello or acknowledgement. It took 10 minutes of looking at items and showing my bf outside (being courteous of the 2 customer limit) that the employee told me in a bored tone 'to ask if I needed anything' or something of the generic 'help if needed' comment. Sad because I was excited to shop and support local, but when the attitude to customers is such it just isn't a place I want to stay or spend my money. read more

Ahhh I love shopping here. Regardless of what you're looking for, you will find everything you didn't even know you wanted at Wallflower. I'm pretty sure I've left with a purchase every time I've stopped in, even if it's a last window shop on the way to my car. Their brands and prices vary greatly - sometimes you'll find a steal, and sometimes you'll leave with a major wallet-dent. I've never seen anyone else wearing the pieces I've bought from here, which is a major relief in Santa Cruz where everyone looks like Urban Outfitters clones. read more

This is the best boutique that I've been to anywhere! I love so many of their items, they source a lot locally, focus on artisans and stand behind their goods. I'm obsessed with their jewelry collection. The woman who owns it is amazing. She makes incredibly high quality jewelry- hello gold that stays gold!- and can even repair it for you. All of her staff are super lovely and easy to talk to. A real gem. read more

I like this store. I went in for my first time recently and ended up with a tank top for 14 bucks and earrings for 12. Great basic pieces. They have some interesting stuff here. I could see some of my other friends liking much more than I did. The sales person was nice and friendly, not stuck up, which to me is half of the whole experience! The clothes are trendy and some are not the best quality, BUT, the prices are reflected on most pieces! I will be going back to browse! read more

Super cute clothes, wishing I had more disposable money to spend here! This is a pretty cute boutique, they've got some really cute clothes! I loved everything in this store! They also had some candles, purses, and accessories to go along with all of the clothes. It's also conveniently located right off the side of the main Downtown drag and a parking structure. The only thing is this boutique has pricey boutique prices. I saw many things I'd like to own and wear and love but I deemed $36 for a cotton t shirt (though cute!) too expensive. read more

Great clothing, jewelry, and more! I walked out with a beautiful outfit. The girl who was working was nice enough, even wrapped it up for me to put in my bag. Unfortunately, some of the beautiful tops are not made for those with broader shoulders (I'm petite with broad shoulders), so I missed out on purchasing more. If prices were a touch cheaper, I may have bought more. Would love to know what people think of the cream deodorant. Love the uniqueness of the clothing and jewelry. Lovely shop. We normally don't go off the path of Pacific Ave and on to side streets but low and behold a new shop only three days open and wow, just the kind of clothes I love! Stylish up to date and comfy to wear. Cute little shop with handcrafted hair accessories, tops and pants. The prices were very very good I recommend having a look see. This boutique offers an amazing collection of locally made jewelry. I was able to order customized earrings for my wedding party and Terra was a delight to work with! She made them in a week, worked with me to make it affordable, and was really helpful in putting together a creative collection based off of her other work. I absolutely love Wallflower Boutique. I came across it after wandering off of Pacific Avenue and couldn't believe i'd been missing out all this time! Yes the prices are quite high on most clothing items but the clothes are mostly from small and sustainable companies, some are free-trade, and all are super unique. All the dresses I have bought there have been quality material and have held up really well over the general wear-and-tear. I stop by no and then to see if they have something new in stock. Their jewelery and clothing are always on trend and the people working there are consistently friendly and helpful! I entered the store with high hopes, and there were a number of dresses and other pieces in the window that caught my eye, but the worker inside met me with passive aggressive behavior, making me feel so unwelcome I left shortly after entering. A friend and I were browsing, looking through the clothes on multiple racks (as the store sells a variety of pieces). We were talking quietly, never made a scene or took anything off the rack. The woman behind the counter asked repeatedly if I needed help, and was irritated when I politely told her "no thank you" as we were browsing, with intent to buy but no specific items in mind. The woman proceeded to glare at my friend and I, the only customers in the store, for the next few minutes and gave me a dirty look asking "Do you need help? Because you've already touched everything in the store!" She clearly wanted us to leave, unsure how to reply we quietly exited the shop. The woman's rudeness and passive aggressive attitude towards me was uncomfortable and condescending, and I certainly won't return. read more

Was very excited when this store opened; being an artist myself, I appreciate quality and unique items. I had been eyeing a belt over several weeks that I really liked, but that was above my price range.($65.00) Finally decided to splurge.. the tag said genuine leather and from Italy so I thought this was a quality product. 2 months into wearing it, I noticed some wear and tear and brought it into the store. At that point I was offered a store credit which I suppose I should have taken, but I was in love with the belt and thought that maybe it was getting a vintage look. 2 months after that, it broke it half! When I brought it back, I was told there was nothing they could do about it. Apparently the manufacturer doesn't stand behind their work and neither does Wallflower. Turn out the belt wasn't solid leather but mostly a cheaper material with a sliver of leather on top made to look like a solid piece. Would not recommend this store. Customer service was appalling. read more

been to the store when it was near shimmy bang. received a gift certificate, walked in to the store today and was treated VERY rudely by a blonde girl with a facial piercing. She was not only rude and unhelpful to ME but also made a derogatory remark to my visiting friend ( he commented on the stores music) from out of town. will not be going into the store again and vocalizing the too cool for school hipster treatment i received there. note you really shouldn't judge people by their appearance as my friend is a fashion consultant for several indie stores in SF. So bummed i threw away my gift certificate, will not be going there again read more

I've admired the clothing here for a while and finally came in to buy a dress a couple of weeks ago. The day after I came in, I noticed that I had been charged twice for the dress and gave Wallflower a call. The employee on the phone was very helpful and even followed up with the owner. It ended up being an error that was fixed automatically by the credit card company, but I really appreciated their customer service. I'm also very happy with the dress that I bought and will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Santa Cruz! read more
