I've visited the Nectar Lounge multiple times over the last 8 years to see a number of different acts. The vibes are always right, security has always been friendly, and I love the covered patio area with heaters and tables. In my opinion it's worth it to get VIP for the mezzanine level if it's being offered because there's more seating and a great view, as well as a bar upstairs and separate bathroom. They're open pretty late so the main act usually won't come on until around 10:45. I will continue to come to Nectar Lounge for live music

Nectar Lounge is a smaller club where some big names drop by, and I love the fact that I can see some great acts in a smaller venue. Right before leaving Seattle, I had a chance to see Ferry Corsten here, and on my most recent outing last week, Stanton Warriors played a set here - these are artists that sell out stadiums and mega clubs, so it was a real treat. There is a smaller lounge upstairs, but I love the main floor. Staff and bartender were cool too, and the bar had a decent selection of taps, as well as tequila and scotch. Plenty of other bars nearby for dinner or pre-funk. A great place to catch a show without dealing without going into downtown!

A little crowded, but a great place to catch a concert. I suggest reserving a spot upstairs if you're going for a show. Drinks are great and not too over priced.

Went here for a concert on July 23rd. The place was okay. We reserved a booth upstairs and it was extremely small. They say it fits 4 people but it is so tight!! Me, my sister and our partners were squished into 1 booth thinking it would have much more space to be comfy and enjoy the concert BUT NOPE! I also just want to add that we are all pretty slim fit. We were like 4 peas in a pod.. uncomfortable. On top of that it was extremely HOT! There was no air circulating upstairs! We were sweating so bad I had to step outside to get some air more than 20 times through out the entire concert. Mind you the concert lasted for 6 hours. It was just horrible and wouldn't recommend reserving those booths that " fit 4 people " because THEY DONT! But the concert was amazing overall. That's probably the only good thing about the entire event was the fantastic music!

Wow, Frank had never been to the Nector before until Allen Stone graced the stage and I'm a believer of this venue. Perfect stage for bands to play an interment show for there fans. Things that impressed me were: * excellent non thug security * great sight lines * outside bar with excellent view of stage. Good for summer shows ***** Only one negative was bar situation was lame. Outside bar didn't have full selection of booze for mix drinks and main floor bar which had all the booze close due to being an all ages show. ***** FRANK give the THUMBS up award for most fabulous venue. I'll be back!

It's hip and you can hear the music no matter where you are. 3 stars because it was hot. Almost unbearable. And making your way to the bar requires getting more up close and personal than I cared to get with strangers. Takes a certain type of person to appreciate this atmosphere. Not for me, but I'd recommend it to a hipper crowd

Did they even buffer the movie?! What the hell? It's supposed to start at 7pm...

Decent smaller venue for shows with basic drinks. Great front door security that is very helpful and friendly.

It was a very good show. I saw Mike Dimes in concert and I had a very good time with my friends, the ambiance and lighting was good.

It was a fairly casual and kind of small venue and there was a group performing on stage.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely listening session of John Coltrane A Love Supreme. Acoustics are outstanding, which is the main reason to check out Shibuya HiFi. Drinks: Having been warned by both a colleague as well as all Shibuya reviews (Google and Yelp) on mid-cocktails, we enjoyed our favorite spirit on rocks and averted disaster. Cocktails are $18+ and there is a single bartender. As several reviewers note, drinks are not permitted in the listening room, so make sure to enjoy your drink prior to your scheduled session. Seating: We arrived around 5PM for our 6PM session to grab a quick drink and lined up ~5:20PM to be first in line (seating is first-come, first-serve). Shoes off in the listening room. Best seats are front and center of the listening room, with uncomfortable stools towards the back. Music: The storytelling of the album was simple (might have expected more knowledge of the album), with the host spending majority of time introducing us to the acoustic sound equipment of the room.

Okk.. so the story telling of the vinyl they were playing was really interesting. It was records by Solange. The person curating our experience had preamble on her personal life and history with records. Overall staff were really nice and sweet. Decor of the hifi room is very Japanese inspired. It has a speakeasy vibes. For the bar, I found odd that they didn't have menu and had in about 7 signature drinks in total. My friend and I got Negroni and gin & tonic which was decent. Chill music, chill vibes and plenty of room. But you can't wear shoes and you can't drink or eat in the HiFi room which I found to be odd. I'd have enjoyed a lot better with my drink In my opinion they have so much potential with the whole concept but it was a bit let down.. also they pride themselves on being Japanese so they can be so creative with incorporating some Japanese inspired cocktails.

It's sort of in a neighborhood area, so it's a lot of street parking and not much official parking lots or garages (at least that I noticed). The venue set up is pretty cool and unique. There are two stage areas where music can be played, so two different shows can be happening at the same time. I had bought a ticket to a reggae show and they had it opened to the other DJ set so I was able to bounce back and forth, which was cool. Both areas have a bar with a free water station. The sound quality inside was good and had plenty of floor space to dance. The staff were laidback, and there is security in the front with a bag check.

It's also next to some great spots to pre-funk like S/T Hooligans and Big Mario's and I saw other people attending the show at both places. The space itself has two rooms, and the show I saw (Blessed Madonna + The Juan MacLean) was packed. The audio and video set up was good, and the bars handled customers quickly. The one pet peeve would be that the rest room situation isn't great, meaning that they were relatively small for a venue this size. But overall, a good place to catch a show!

The whole experience was quite awesome. Our facilitator, Tom E. was great at giving us feedback to make us sound better, individually and together. The other musicians in the group were very focused and committed to practicing between sessions and being prepared for the next session. Everyone who represented UMF was super professional and welcoming throughout the initial registration to the final performance. Not only are they getting musicians together to play music, but they're creating an authentic community that I've felt welcomed into since day one! This was exactly what I needed to get my butt out and playing with other musicians and having fun at the same time. As a singer, finding a band was always exceptionally challenging, and eventually life gave way to a husband, kids, and a day job. I found UMF on craigslist when we first moved here, and stalked their website for nearly a year. I was interested in joint a Vagaband series, but my travel schedule is hectic, and makes it difficult to commit to anything- even 3-6 weeks. Just before Christmas, a series opened up that I HAD TO JOIN, and I happened to have the 6 weeks to commit to it. You are plunked into a group of people you have never met. You all have the same goal, and a setlist already assigned. The first rehearsal everyone came prepared, and the first song kind of takes your breath away. You just formed a band (albeit short term). The chemistry in my first Vagaband series was amazing, our show was packed, and I formed real friendships beyond the performance. Instant rock and roll fantasy. I'm now in my second series, and to say this is a business would be a gross inaccuracy. This is a community. I have been welcomed into it warmly, made to feel my talent is validated, and definitely see this community as a family of musicians I couldn't be happier to be a part of. What Tom and Matt created and nurture is so much more than a music lesson.
