Fun place to see a band but SUPER crowded. Street parking only so plan accordingly. Staff was great. Very friendly and made the bar lines move fairly quickly. Expanded heated area toward the front with 2 rollup doors adds to the capacity. There is also a smaller upstairs area with a second bar, bathroom and great views overlooking the main area. We saw a couple of bands on a Friday night and there were wall to wall people so you couldn't really dance. The stage is large and set up nicely and the lights during the shows were really awesome. Lots to do in this part of Fremont so maybe get there early for parking and grab some food before a show. read more

I've visited the Nectar Lounge multiple times over the last 8 years to see a number of different acts. The vibes are always right, security has always been friendly, and I love the covered patio area with heaters and tables. In my opinion it's worth it to get VIP for the mezzanine level if it's being offered because there's more seating and a great view, as well as a bar upstairs and separate bathroom. They're open pretty late so the main act usually won't come on until around 10:45. I will continue to come to Nectar Lounge for live music read more

Love this place. They get a great mix of music in from hip-hop-world music-funk and jazz! I've seen so many of my favorite artists perform here and it's a smaller venue so it gives a more Intimate viewing experience. People complain about it being too packed but that's just because given that it's a small venue that brings in big names, they sell out and are at max capacity. You'd be elbow to elbow with people just the same as any other sold out show! The bartenders and staff are all great and helpful. They have a seasonal drink list that never disappoints. Nectar Lounge is a smaller club where some big names drop by, and I love the fact that I can see some great acts in a smaller venue. Right before leaving Seattle, I had a chance to see Ferry Corsten here, and on my most recent outing last week, Stanton Warriors played a set here - these are artists that sell out stadiums and mega clubs, so it was a real treat. There is a smaller lounge upstairs, but I love the main floor. Staff and bartender were cool too, and the bar had a decent selection of taps, as well as tequila and scotch. Plenty of other bars nearby for dinner or pre-funk. A great place to catch a show without dealing without going into downtown! read more

This "lounge" is absolutely trash. Do not come here! Avoid at all costs! I never ever write a bad review unless the place is truly deserving. After reading other people's comments I'm now seeing what the truth behind this place even is. 1st off just know that this place is extremely small, they cram the place so full that it literally will make it so that you cannot walk around. 2nd I was here with a group of 6 people in which we all work for the hospitality industry so drama or any altercations is the last thing we want to be apart of. We were all enjoying our show which had multiple performers, everyone was dancing and having a great time when suddenly the bouncers pull me out to talk to me saying that I threw water on people and am now not allowed back in... this is complete BS. I would never in a million years disrespect people like that, especially when I'm with a group of people. They ended up making me leave which in return made my whole party leave before the main event even started. After looking at reviews here it looks like they do this very often to people and I'm starting to realize it's because they have a line at the door waiting to get in and they probably need to remove people to fit people, to go with the capacity laws. Absolutely terrible. Worst lounge or bar experience I've ever had. The security were unbelievably ignorant and the manager of the venue was even worse. My friend was mistaken for someone else and they escorted him out mid show without any possibility of re entering, even though the whole dilemma was a misunderstanding. The manager was incredibly rude, and they treated people very differently based on their appearance. No one make the same mistake we did and book their show here, or even attend this place for a drink. Went here for a concert on July 23rd. The place was okay. We reserved a booth upstairs and it was extremely small. They say it fits 4 people but it is so tight!! Me, my sister and our partners were squished into 1 booth thinking it would have much more space to be comfy and enjoy the concert BUT NOPE! I also just want to add that we are all pretty slim fit. We were like 4 peas in a pod.. uncomfortable. On top of that it was extremely HOT! There was no air circulating upstairs! We were sweating so bad I had to step outside to get some air more than 20 times through out the entire concert. Mind you the concert lasted for 6 hours. It was just horrible and wouldn't recommend reserving those booths that " fit 4 people " because THEY DONT! But the concert was amazing overall. SO sux that they NEVER answer the phone. Trying to go to a Maui disaster benefit and cannot find out if there are tickets at the door. It is completely UNETHICAL to charge (50% service charge for $10!) and profit for a disaster benefit. I get that's how the site is set up, but there should be basic information on the site in the FAQ section about walkup business for ANY show. It's a funky website as well. Wow, Frank had never been to the Nector before until Allen Stone graced the stage and I'm a believer of this venue. Perfect stage for bands to play an interment show for there fans. Things that impressed me were: * excellent non thug security * great sight lines * outside bar with excellent view of stage. Good for summer shows ***** Only one negative was bar situation was lame. Outside bar didn't have full selection of booze for mix drinks and main floor bar which had all the booze close due to being an all ages show. ***** FRANK give the THUMBS up award for most fabulous venue. It's hip and you can hear the music no matter where you are. 3 stars because it was hot. Almost unbearable. And making your way to the bar requires getting more up close and personal than I cared to get with strangers. Takes a certain type of person to appreciate this atmosphere. Went here for reel rock movie showing. The ticket said 7pm. No announcement for what's going on, barely any seats, no sense of direction. Definitely did not start at 7pm. It's been a full hour and we're still waiting. We were waiting in line at 6:30pm, but it didn't matter because they didn't open the doors until 7:10pm. Why are they so completely disorganized?! We did not expect to be waiting over an hour for a movie to start. We only budgeted time for the movie length and travel time. We have to get back to kids and dogs. The babysitter has to work an extra hour and it's a work day tomorrow. Apparently, there are still people waiting outside even at 8pm. How is it even taking this long for everyone to get in? Who the hell is in charge? I don't think we will ever come back to this venue again. Comparatively, Showbox is way better. read more

Came here for Hawaiian/Reggae concert. It's a small venue but did not feel overly crowded. The sound was great and you pretty much get a good view of the stage wherever you are at. Great ambiance and crowd. The venue has two bars one on each level. Great selection of drinks however there is no kitchen but you can bring in your own food! THIS IS WHERE I GO TO BOOGIE! Not only is the lineup consistently incredible and diverse, but the general feeling of this place is always one of community and happiness. The venue itself is indoor/outdoor with firepits and lots of greenery, almost giving off a jungle vibe. I have seen many of my favorite funk, bluegrass, and hip-hop bands here. The production and sounds never disappoints. Also being located in the beautiful heart of Fremont, there are always plenty of bars and eats to go to before or after a show. Looks like they followed my advice!! Nectar now has an entire upstairs area complete with a separate seating nook and bar! Wow! I was shocked. We came here for Lady Gaga vs. Madonna night, which is basically where they play a slideshow of pics/videos of these two ladies and spin their music all night long. It was PACKED. And so, so much fun. I'm very glad they added the upstairs, it's really fun to sit up there and talk (er.. scream to be heard) while watching the dancers below. This has been a frequent stop for me due to artists I follow being scheduled here, and general satisfaction in the place. Summer is insanely fun, especially the lanai/outdoor region...Winter actually rocks too, as you can chill and return to hot & heavy dancing easily @ this venue. Enough room outside to feel comfy while still avoiding the smoke. Occasionally the barkeeps can be snippy, but overall the tone is one of patience and knowing the clientele crowd - which can alter nightly. The door staff don't take guff, and my coats still have their valuable contents when returned from check. The best place to sit in reverence is the upstairs pew. A good overview of Nectar crowd & performers with no acoustic loss despite being in the rafters. Michael v. Prince is always loverly. This is my fave haunt to hear local and imported Reggae/Funk/Jambands. Fair warning - The food vendors outside on certain evenings WILL take advantage of patrons with cash who are not paying attention. The bathrooms can get gross without upkeep...bring Purell, girls. Overall, give it a shot...and watch the calendar for frequent gems Nectar bookings always offer. read more

Summer outdoor area, fair bartenders, audience participation, a place you can be silly and intimate. We've been here for Brazil Night and fundraisers. The most packed I have seen the place was on Mardi Gras. The acoustics are great! So much so that some people dance in the alley way. Depending on where you listen in the audience, it's laid back and high energy at the same time. The crowd seems like a mix of free spirits and the timid, not the pushy, omg-I-can't-believe-you-are-trying-to-see-the-same-thing-as-me-and-you're-standing-next-to-me people that you get at some places like the Showbox. A chill spot that a buddy and I goto once in a while on Monday nights. They have a thing called "Mo-Jam Mondays" and it draws a fun crowd. The interior can get a little packed when it's too cold to stand in their exterior (covered) area (they'll typically open their roll up door when the weathers nicer). An artist typically paints in the outside area, a taco truck parks by the entrance (try the Carne Asada tacos, not half bad for $2/each!) and it's close to many other venues. No cover to get in but they politely ask for a donation of around $5. Drinks are reasonably priced depending on what you order. Bartenders are nice and quick to acknowledge you, which I really appreciate! I'd recommend it, especially since I haven't been too impressed with other venues and events on Monday nights! read more

Visited this venue for the first time last night. Security and the doorman were pleasant and helpful, answering any questions. It was a sold out show, and security came by and let us know we would have to move our chairs to the opposite side of the islands to accommodate the upcoming crowd. The atmosphere was fun, and the band/DJ sounded great in the space. Little touches like the disco ball and the see through garage doors to the enclosed "outdoor" space with a firepit enhanced the experience. The bar staff was pleasant, and everyone appeared to pitch in, picking up empty glasses as they saw them on their travels through the venue. My only complaints: restrooms weren't big enough, always a line, and virtually zero parking. Ended up parking blocks away on a very narrow residential street. read more

The place is run entirely backwards. Under 21 attendees are forced to stand upstairs for the shows duration. They've done it this way for years and I can't understand why. A concert is a unifying event and to separate people like that from the get go is ignorant and shows a lack of understanding for the experience they are supposed to be providing for people spending their hard earned money at their establishment. I had heard great things about this venue for awhile but never actually had the opportunity to check it out until last night. My bf's cousin is an up and coming rapper from Olympia and he had a performance here with a bunch of other rap acts. I was pretty excited to check it out because I had never been to an underground rap concert before. I didn't have expectations for the event but I liked the venue a lot. I especially liked the bartenders' friendliness and service. The outside patio area was great too and it's nice too because they have a cash only bar out there too for when it gets busy. The cousin bought us Patron on the rocks for $10 each and I definitely could not drink anything on the rocks, let alone tequila. So I asked the bartender what a good mixer would be and he suggested grapefruit juice, he was totally right! It was really tasty and I could barely taste the liquor afterwards. I contemplated making it my go-to drink next time instead of the usual cranberry vodka. The drinks are decently priced for how much liquor they pour so that was good. Parking can be tricky in the area on the weekends but street parking usually isn't too difficult if you come early enough. There's also usually a small cover fee to get into the venue, which makes sense if you're there to see a show. I'd like to come back for other performances because it was a bit empty last night but we still had a great time too. read more

What an awesome venue for a concert. I would highly recommend reserving a table on the upper level. It's only ~$20 and the upper seating is great for people watching and soaking up the ambiance. If you're like me and don't like smashing your body against strangers, this is pretty much the only way to go. The lower level gets pretty rowdy, although the staff did a good job of removing the extra rowdy folks. Be forewarned, the concerts generally go until 1am and the headliner doesn't come until a couple hours after starting. Grab a drink, dance, and people watch. There's lots to do at Nectar Lounge. Tip: Bring your earplugs. Save your cochlear hair cells so that you can still hear in old age. read more

Blown away by the Kindness, and hospitality of every single person that works at Nectar Lounge, which is not always the case when a bunch of hippies show up for a show. And while everyone was awesome, Boone and Taylor are rare finds in the club/music venue scene in this day and age. Not sure if Boone owns the place or not, but he certainly treats everyone as though he does or at least wants them to be treated as though their presence and business is appreciated! Even the Patrons are superior quality humans, My husband "misplaced" his phone on night one of Andy Coe Band and thought it was gone for good, but no Taylor just pulled it out of a drawer and handed it to him. Thanks for your trustworthy ness Seattle concert goers!! All in all Nectar Lounge is a class act all the way around, if you have not seen a show there you must!! I love Nectar, I've seen so many great shows there. I feel compelled to issue a 'buyers beware' for advance ticket sales though. When The Governor declares a 'state of emergency' urging drivers to stay off the roads, Nectar will not cancel the show or refund your money. In this case, last Friday, a local band played, Andy Coe was in the bill. Post show, Nectar posted pictures on FB showing people dancing... I'm sure many patrons are local, from Fremont and surrounds, within walking distance. How inconsiderate to pocket money from people who'd need to drive and by doing so, endanger 'optimistic' motorists who venture out. I find that a particularly predatory way of doing business. I'll visit Nectar again, why deny myself great music, and I'll be watchful of a management team that's concerned more about itself than being a true citizen of our city. read more
