Oh Needham Center Fine Wines how much do I love thee let me count the ways... #1 I live in So. Cal but am from Boston so the wines that I can get at home aren't available here. I have over the past year purchased wine from this fine establishment via phone and email. The customer service I receive is bar-none consistently accommodating. #2 if I am traveling by way of plane they make sure to arrange for a box that I can travel with that will keep my wine protected. If I have to have family pick it up they hold it for me. They carry a wonderful Lingot Martin Bugey-Cerdon a sparkling Gamay Rose that would be perfect for New Year's Eve. I'm stuck at home on a Covid quarantine. My boyfriend is terribly sick but I'm not. I'm literally sitting around trying to figure out what to do. Sunday football is perfect, but I only had one beer. DON'T GO HERE!!! These guys are complete jerks. Called bc I wanted some specialty cheese that is impossible to find. Owner was at first really nice, said it was on the way and they would call me. They never called but I followed up the next week. The guy on the phone (I think a different guy) was completely rude and told me it was in stock. I asked what flavors he just said "I don't know." So I drove 30 mins to get it and when I arrived, they told me I was given bad information and that it actually hadn't been delivered but it would be delivered the next day. So I called again the next day. Same guy tells me it's been delivered. I asked him to triple check because he had told me it was there the previous day when it wasn't. The guy says "yes it's here." I then asked him to check what flavors he had and he said "Dude, I'm not gonna do that. I'm kind of busy, if you want them come get em but I'm not going to check." What a terrible way to do business. Awful experience and I'm notifying the cheese company since it's a poor reflection on them too. read more

For a limited selection, small shop you would think they would have to excel at customer service...think again. After snippy counter staff interrogated me (again) about my empty beer bottle returns, I don't feel obliged to continue doing business with them. I'll take my business elsewhere. I stopped in here on a local friend's recommendation and couldn't have been happier with the results. They have a ton of local beer (nightshift, jacks abby) and spirits (privateer, billy boy) and are so knowledgeable about it! Great snacks-Spanish chips, European candy, local fun stuff too! I'm a huge fan and will definitely plan to come back. The staff was friendly and fun, the vibe was great. If I lived in the area this would be my go-to. read more

Chris is awesome. He and his team are always friendly and helpful. They have a great selection including good things for your charcuterie platter. If they don't have something, they'll find it and get it to you quickly. Pricing is competitive and for a small shop the selection is excellent. read more

Service is hit or miss. Multiple visit I've experienced great customer service however tonight the employees couldn't be bothered. I left without purchasing anything. The selection is wonderful but I am disappointed with the rotation of product. The last 2 cases of beer I've purchased were 9 months old. Not only was the beer skunked but the cans had to be washed because they smelled. read more

I used to visit frequently when I worked nearby and always loved the prices and selection. I have since moved out of state and remembered them when I needed a birthday gift. I like many others grew up in Needham, I asked my parents what liquor store to visit and this was my fathers wonderful recommendation. Every one working was so nice to me on a Tuesday night. They even offered to carry my beer out to the car because I had my infant under my arm. The selection, at least for beer was wonderful, and I left with two of my favorite harder to find beers. They also seemed to have some nice cheeses and European chocolates. I can't attest for wine however because of an allergy, but given everything else, I'm sure it's wonderful. read more

First, I am not a paid reviewer, so my review is authentic. I say that because I really cannot say enough good things about this place. The service is really admirable. It's not the largest selection - the space isn't huge - but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in customer service. A couple examples: I came in one Friday a few minutes after they finished their weekly tasting, which was scotch that week. I mentioned I liked scotch, and they took out the samples and gave me some. Another time, I mentioned that i liked Pacifico a lot, but they didn't have it; they told me they'd get it for me, and a week later, it was there and has been there ever since. Plus, they're just very friendly and easy to talk to, unlike some other wine places. I feel like a regular even though it's only been open a short time. I'm very impressed. read more

Went here with my son to buy some beer. While they had a decent selection, it was rather overpriced. When I went to the register to check out, the pretentious guy running the place asked to see my obviously underaged son's ID. When we explained he wasn't 21, the guy said that not even I could buy anything because I was with a minor, even though he was my child. read more
