I've been a patient at this location for a few years, but unfortunately, the experience has consistently declined. There seems to be a very high staff turnover rate, which impacts the quality of service. Records are often disorganized--x-rays get lost, charts can't be located, and billing issues are a recurring problem. My most recent visit was especially disappointing. The cleaning felt rushed and incomplete, and it didn't feel like my teeth were properly cared for. As a result, this will be my last visit. I have gone to this dentist for two years now and have had great experience not only for me but also my son. The first visit we had, we did have to wait many times throughout the visit. However everyone was very nice the whole time. I was hesitant to keep going back due to the long dentist appt but figured I'd give them another chance and it was maybe just a day they were behind. I'm glad I did because since it's been great and we have been in and out. If there was zero review I would definitely put one. This place is very unprofessional. when I first scheduled appointment I confirmed with a guy my appointment and got my insurance and mentioned that my insurance was in network, but a lady called me again in the next day at 7am woke me up from my sleep telling me I do not have an appointment because I have to verify my insurance tho I went through the same process with the guy I was on the phone with only for her to get me through the process and see I was already confirmed. I thought that was strange but I did confirm with the guy who scheduled me and her when she called me if Tri care was in network they confirmed with me if it was not I would not have gone there. No person in the right mind would actually go somewhere where they are not in network especially with something scheduled ahead of time. I still paid couple of hundred out of pocket during my visit being told I need this and that in addition without disclosing the price which I thought was strange. But what got me mad is seeing a paper that they been sending me I thought it was to schedule an appointment but it was telling me I owe that is absurd thing I have ever heard or seen. I paid out of pocket in visit J was told my insurance is in network. As I called my insurance i got told they are out of network fee years ago but I believe the person does not know I do not know what the heck happened. My question is why is the person who scheudled my appointment waste my time twice only to find out it is out of network after I got the job done. I am actually upset just thinking about the day I decided to answer that call and schedule that damn appointment. please save yourself. This place is a headache. Do not go!!! They overcharged me $300 and they over charged my friend $1900 but instead of being honest they applied a credit to her account. 0 bedside manner. The dentist would leave during my fill to attend to other patients. She didn't even discuss anything with me before stabbing my gums. I have had two teeth pulled from Dr. Williams within the past year. I have several heart issues and I always need to pre-med before any kind of tooth surgery or cleaning, anything that would release excess bacteria into my blood stream leading into my heart. Both times I had my teeth pulled, Dr. Williams called in a prescription for (4) 500 mg amoxicillin to take one hour before my surgery. I have been trying to get my teeth cleaned four times since April of this year. The first time they told me they would call it in for me, they never did. Then another time, they told me that I would have to come into the office to take the premeds, then come back after an hour passed for my cleaning. This last time, they told me they were going to call it in, then called me back a day later and said that I need to get from my primary doctor. Just passing the buck again. I am very disappointed with this dental office with their lack of compassion and safety for patients that have medical issues. read more

Terrible establishment. Be careful this place not only overcharges they also duplicate charges. Please pay attention to your bill before offering any payment. I am also very unhappy with a fill that was done. My mouth aches every time I eat due to a large gap being left between my teeth. When I asked for it to be fixed I was told that they will only attempt to correct it once and will place a crown there if they can't get it right. Awesome, family friendly business. I've gone to this dentist for over 10 years. When I moved to northern VA I tried finding a dentist in the area but they all had horrible reviews. My friends in the area also complained about the dental practices in the area. So I drive LITERALLY one hour - each way - to go to the dentist in LaPlata. They are also great with kids. Took my kid here at age 3 and 4 and the dental assistants were able to polish teeth. Truly amazing. read more

Warning!! If I could give them 0 stars I would. At this location I was told that my 9 year old daughter needed three fillings for a total of $600. I took her to another dentist only to find that she did not need anything done!!! I wonder if they were going to fix cavities that did not exist and ruin my daughter 's teeth. I heard from somebody else that the dentists at Neibauer work under commission. Don't get treatment done there unless you confirm the need for it!! Also, my wife was told she needed a total cleaning that consisted on cutting her gums to get under them and perform a "thorough cleaning". Okay so here is one year later after being told a PERECTLY CROWN done by the BEST AIR FORCE DENTIST needed to be redone.after 5 visits pain numbing wrong fit players in your mouth, split lip because dentist is cumpsy. Today after less than 1 year the $1800.00 crown replacement fell out with a simple floss. Mind you I have 6 other crowns in my mouth done more than 25 years ago by Air Force dentist. Here Doctor Williams fell out. I'm going to a doctrinal Ed certified Dentist to tell me how do we fix. Wi should have known better when she offered to reimburse me of my portion of the trauma crown situation.she tried to reimburse effort $700.00 but I had to sign an affidavitte relinquishing g Her of further action. I called my lawyer and he said don't,!,!!!!! Glad I didn't. So tomorrow I'm going to accreditable dentist to give me an estimate to repair. I just had 2 wisdom teeth removed by Dr Kenny Thaher. It took 90 min and I went directly back to work. He ensured that the process was pain free and was very detailed in explaining what to do for the next few days. Kenny was friendly and knowledgeable on this visit, and during my first exam. My dental tech was very friendly and detail orientated. The reception team was always friendly and quick to respond to my questions via email or via phone. DON'T GO HERE. Plz save yourself the time, money & pain. I went it for a routine cleaning & was given x-rays, told about my 8 cavities & within 20 minutes was being numbed up for a root canal. I went in with no pain or discomfort - I take really good care of my teeth - and left with severe pain that has lasted up until now (4 months later). Just met with a new dentist who has informed me that fibers from the procedure have broken off in my tooth (something the Dentist should inform you of when / if it ever happens) & are the cause of pain and infection. I now have to meet with an endodontist to get this problem fixed. Went in for a cleaning & wish I could take that day back. Don't do it. read more

We have been using Neibauer Dental Care for a couple of years and have decided to change dentists finally, and I feel this is long overdue. The positives are the office is very clean and comfortable, but there are a several negatives that when added all up, I just can't take anymore. First of all, if you start using this dental office you will be constantly harassed about your appointments--they know how often your insurance will pay for checkups and schedule you to the day. And they don't wait for you to schedule them. Oh no, when you walk out and you have a schedule for 6 months in the future. I take all of my kids at the same time, and what bothers me is they don't schedule them with different hygienists at the same time--they make it seem like they did, but when we arrive, they have them back to back, so we are in there for hours. I also think there is some scam going on with the sealants. Every time we go in they say my kids sealants came off and they have to redo them. I think they use dissolvable or edible sealants. And I can't get out of there without somehow coming out of pocket several hundred dollars even though my insurance should cover the necessary stuff--and always has in the past at other dentists' offices. But whatever methods or tools neibeauer uses, it is not all covered by my insurance. It drives me crazy, because they don't tell you until it's too late, and then they look at you like you're the a-hole. I really should have switched dentists years ago. read more

This dental office was fantastic! From the front office all the way 'til I got home, I felt very cared for. Let me break it down for ya... I have horrible teeth, coincidentally, I have an extreme fear of going to the dentist. Needless to say, this already isn't an ideal situation for everyone involved. I had a broken tooth and needed my molar extracted, the pain was unbearable and I needed to be seen immediately. I placed an order for an appointment online the night before, and was called first thing in the morning to set up an appointment. I was able to be seen first thing the following day. Awesome! I was seen promptly, the office is clean, spacious, and cheerful. Immediately, I felt at ease. The techs were helpful and did everything they could to protect my pregnant belly from the X-rays they needed to take. Dr. Kim came in to tell me what was up and explain the procedure to me. She was very personable, talked to me like a person instead of medical jargon, and assured me everything would be just fine. I asked about payment options and they worked with me to get the credit I needed. The procedure itself was pretty horrifying, but that's NO FAULT of the dental office, just my extreme stress over having any dental work done. It could have been a simple cleaning and I would have still freaked out. Anyway... Afterward, Dr. Kim was very sympathetic and accommodating. She gave me sutures even though she didn't need to, just to make sure there were no complications and I had to come back (the horror!). She prescribed antibiotics and a pain reliever, and all was right in the world. Her tech, Taylor, even called back a few hours later to make sure I was doing ok. Shop around, not for a discount, but for a good dentist who's not out to get your money. This Company, because that's what it is, just wants your hard earn money and will lie to you and try hard to sell you services that you absolutely do not need. I came here looking to get an X-ray of my teeth and a cleaning, and these people tried to tell me I either need braces or a mouth guard. Braces are ridiculous and the mouth guard was being charged at $500! That's right, $500 for a piece of plastic with no special properties! They even tried to convince me that since my insurance covers it (Tri-care does not), that it would be OK to order this plastic guard. Told them flat out me or my insurance would not be forking over $500 for a piece plastic that NASA would laugh at! read more

Don't go to Neibauer. It's a huge company with extensive overhead and their interest is in profit vs. personal concern for your care. A friend of mine knew someone who worked there and they really do have profit and churn goals they need to hit which leads to a lot of unnecessary procedures for you and your children! I also know from personal experience here that they tried to get me to fill a cavity several times that my trusted dentist from another state had only out a "watch" on for years. I had it checked by a third dentist and it was still on watch status. I also feel that the cleaning they did (with water) didn't get all of the tartar. It was so quick. Just be careful here, no matter which office you go to. Very professional and efficient however. read more

One of the dentists at this office numbed my throat instead of the tooth on which she was working. She went ahead and drilled, even though my tooth was not numbed, causing me great pain. In addition to this, I was quoted the wrong price for the procedure because the front office did not take the trouble to call my insurance company. read more

I went there for treatment of one problem tooth to get me through until I could get to my regular dentist 2,000 miles away. They set me up for a panorama of x-rays. I asked the technician to only x-ray the problem tooth. Apparently, they did the panorama and the problem tooth anyway, and I was billed for both. Needless to say I'm not happy I've been charged $146 for something that was not needed. I did ask them to forward the panel to my regular dentist and after two attempts, they were provided. They were in an electronic format my dentist can convert but not in the format they regularly use. It really would have been better if my regular had been able to take these himself and he may in fact have to retake them. We don't know yet. Other than this, their staff were friendly and the service was competent. read more

They performed a root canal, but didn't do a complete job, nor did they polish the crown before installing it. Every time I went to a dentist (3 different practices) for a semi annual cleanings, they issued a warning for me to be sure to "pay attention to that crown". Over the course of a few years, the remaining material inside the tooth got infected, and I needed gum surgery to remove a large cyst that formed as a result of the infection. The endodontist that performed the surgery said that there was nothing I could have done hygeine-wise to prevent the infection, it was just bad work on the part of Neibauer. I'm not alone in my experience as three days after the surgery, my sister's Neibauer installed crown fell out. Hers was less than a year old. $1,800 for the initial crown, plus another $1,000 to have it repaired four years later. My understanding is that these should last a decade or more. Do yourself a favor, find another dental practice... read more

After moving to the area nearly 3yrs ago I decided to switch dentists and try Neibauer Dental per my husband and friend's recommendations. The reason I had used a different dental office when I first moved here was do to the conflicting reviews people gave me of the practice. Some friends raved, others related horrible experiences. My husband had one bad experience here years ago (with a dentist no longer at the practice) but recommended Patel and the technical staff. With reservations I decided to give them a try. The office is very modern, clean and they obviously have all of the latest equipment. The technicians and dental hygienist serving me were all excellent. I really liked Dr. Patel's personality. He and his staff appeared to enjoy working together and made me feel at ease. The Dr. said that I had one small cavity needing to be filled and possibly two other spots that he would watch closely, focus more on flossing- otherwise all good news. This checked out with what my previous dentist, 6 months earlier, had said. Overall, I liked my experience but noticed that everything felt rushed. The dentist didn't spend much time checking over my teeth and gums following the cleaning... no oral cancer screening (overheard the tech indicate she forgot to do it), no gum health check/ratings, etc. I was told to make a follow up appointment for the cavity. I came away feeling that the service was okay but not nearly as thorough as my dentist in Frederick, MD. The cavity filling was okay. This time Dr. Patel seemed very rushed, jumping from patient to patient. There is little explanation of what is to be done- films are located behind you and the doc doesn't stop to explain much until enamel is flying. He definitely didn't take much time while doing the filling. Had to call him back in to polish out rough spots on the filling, which if he had spent more time, I fell certain he would have noted. Two weeks later I started to have pain while chewing, came back in and had the filling height adjusted- too high? Was told that the tooth was bruised, chew on the other side, pain should slowly go away. I should mention that on this very same day, my husband was in for a cracked crown. This crown was previously botched by another dentist at this practice ~4yrs ago. Another dentist (also no longer on staff) had to redo it. My husband had gone in just a week prior to our double appt fearing he had cracked the darned crown. Patel x-rayed the tooth and said there were no problems. A week later a huge part of this same crown broke off while he was eating. What?? My husband was reasonably satisfied with the newly fitted crown- still not quite right. Meanwhile, I can still not chew normally on the side of my mouth with the filled tooth. A second dentist said the filling looked good but an infection was likely present at the root. So now antibiotics and, if that doesn't work, a root canal. All because of a "small" cavity! I cannot recommend this practice overall. Maybe if there was an actual Dr. Neibauer on staff who cared for each patient? This is the fast food of dentistry- revolving caregivers and, sometimes, mediocre dental work. To Dr. Patel's credit, he did not charge us for all of the follow up repairs my husband and I both needed and fit us in immediately when we reported problems. On the other hand, Dr. Patel just moved out of state. Again, a revolving door experience at Neibauer. read more

No call backs from office for appointments, tech making impressions used so much paste it had to be pulled from their throat as they were gagging in the chair. All they want is your money and don't care about getting you the proper care. After almost one year of treatment we gave up and went to another orthodontist who fixed the issue in 5 min with a simple adjustment. I've been a customer here approximately 2 years. During one of my routine visit, I was informed that I needed to have a crown. I put off the procedure until my finances was in order to cover the expense since there was out of pocket cost. I received a flier for a promotion for the procedure that I needed. The flier was advertising the upcoming crown week promotion in April 17. The flier stated a price of $500+; I don't recall the exact amount. I called the office to inquire about the promotion, and the office confirmed the promotion. I provided my name, so she could pull up my treatment record to verify my required dental work. Once they verified my required treatment, I asked for confirmation of the total cost for my required dental procedure. I was told (over the phone) that my procedure would cost a specific amount. At that point I asked for reassurance on the price quote, which I received. I made it clear that I would only scheduled the procedure if that price was confirmed. Once she confirmed, I requested the appointment. I went to appointment and was fitted for the crown and a temporary crown was installed pending the return of my permanent crown. At the conclusion of that visit I paid the full quoted amount. When I went back to have my permanent crown installed al the conclusion of that visit (TO MY SURPRISE) I was told I owed and additional $305.60. I immediately disputed. At that point I was told that they would bring the issue to the office manager's attention in the morning because she was gone for the day. I expected a call or some other form of contact from the office manager to discuss the issue, which is clearly bad business practice. I never received a call. Instead I received a bill in for the $305.60. If I was told there was a remote possibility of additional charges, I would NOT have scheduled the procedure at that time I was quoted a price.
