    Claire A.

I'm super clumsy, and hit my self in the face really close to my eye. It started bleeding really badly so I ran up to Neighbors as they are close, and I've heard good things about them. I had to get 7 stitches. I was so upset because I was going to Mexico the next day. The nurses and doctor could not have been any sweeter. The doctor talked me through the whole process, and made me feel completely at ease. They even called and checked up on me too! So happy I came here instead of the hospital or any of the other places near by. Literally from the time I walked in and walked out it was less than 45 minutes! I will NEVER go to the Hospital ER ever again! Thank you Neighbors for going above and beyond!

My blown vein, 2nd IV attempt. She finally got it the 3rd time. I'm 32 with great veins.

My son went into this hospital today around 4ish to 5'oclock am he was medical screened & during…read morehis medical screening he was told the test would be $650. he then explained he did not have insurance and stated the lady then walked out & relayed that information to another nurse. So basically, they gave him papers stating upper respiratory infection, so was this not an emergency? Based on the conversation with Helen she stated no. So, in other words, if he had the $650, he was sick but since he did not, he was not sick enough for them, so he was then told to take over the counter medicine. I have never seen anyone in my life be denied medical care unless there were combative and the police had to be called. So, I called as a parent because my son could've passed out or anything could've happened leaving that medical facility with no treatment. I don't care if you are a private hospital or not. They didn't check to see if he was dehydrated, no iv, no blood work all because he did not have $650. He is a young black man & went to seek medical attention just because he was alone or didn't have insurance he still should've been treated. I then called Elite hospital I stayed on the phone for 30 minutes trying while the receptionist explained to the nurse my reason for calling. I needed to know why he was denied treatment? I was trying to understand their reasoning but got me with disregard, disrespect, excuses and kindness, with Helen the tone was definitely hostile, she appeared to seem surprised as to why I'm calling very not nurse like. No compassion, empathy, sympathy or anything was given. Upper respiratory infections are contagious and can be caused by bacteria. Helen was very condescending, so the phone call went all the way left. I then asked for the director of nurses and was placed on hold, then told I could not get that information by Helen. I then explained I had been given that information before on cards or provided with a phone number at least. I had to call another nurse that works in another hospital to find out Brenda Hess is the Chief Nursing Officer, I then asked Helen to provide me with a person who was in charge over her and she stated no one was there she is in charge. The phone call got heated and she hung up I then called back. I called back & was then passed around of course because now Helen has informed her coworkers of what I said and what is going on. Liz gets on the phone with no sympathy or empathy stating I'm aware of what's going on and proceeds to tell me what I already been told about the medical screening. I stated I'm aware Liz clearly needs training in people skills. Liz stated you are not getting Mrs. Hess phone number I will give you her email & then proceeds to tell me to stop yelling & continues to hang up because she is mad, I have exchanged words with her coworker. I find this very offensive, rude & shows the lack of. I ask for specific information & was met with no accountability. In all of this my son was denied care because he was black & did not have $650. If it had been anyone else, I'm sure they would've received treatment private facility or not. I ended up taking him to another medical facility for medical attention. Nurses are here to show compassion, empathy, patience, & humility and my son did not get any of that. The way this world is going it pays to be kind, humble and caring. Then they have a saying at Elite your emergency is our emergency that is completely false. A good nurse finds deep meaning in helping others, advocating for them, and making a difference. I would give them a zero if I could. I wouldn't take a dog here & looking at the reviews I see why they are not 5 stars.

While I was in the emergency room, they asked me if they could do my surgery would i agree. I said yes! I'm writing this because it might save someone's life. I wish I'd read something like this before…read moreJune 6, 2024. I was told I'd have surgery at Townsen Memorial Hospital. The word hospital implied doctors, emergency backup, and safety. In truth, it's an ambulatory surgical center, a place where surgeons rent operating rooms and bring their own teams. No staff physicians. No overnight care. I didn't know that when I signed the consent forms. My orthopedic surgery was supposed to include two procedures. I woke up with six incisions and eight procedures I hadn't agreed to. My surgeon had left the building, and the state, before I woke up. I remained there for two days and never saw a doctor. Nurses followed blanket post-op orders that weren't written specifically for me. They injected me with insulin, despite me insisting I'm not diabetic. I begged them to stop; they said orders were orders. I became violently ill. There was no physician on site to intervene. Totally in the dark, I remained an active patient, attending appointments in June, July, August, September, October, and again in December. I was raising concerns at every visit, and being gaslit, lied to, and given false information. On December 4, 2024, I came back for a second surgery under strong coercion from my 'surgeon'. While I was being prepped, the nurse assigned to me looked at my scars and asked who had cut me like that. When I told her what I'd been told, that Townsen staff were responsible, she corrected me and said surgeons bring their own teams and Townsen staff don't touch patients in the OR. She then retrieved documentation showing the assistant's name and my surgeon's signature authorizing everything. Everything he had denied for six months. It was at this time, while I was being prepped for a second surgery, that I was informed that bone marrow had been extracted from my pelvis during that surgery. It was at this time, while I was being prepped for a second surgery, that I was informed that they were planning to do it again. AGAIN, the nurse said. I had no idea it had been done the first time. The surgical assistant who made my incisions and sutures wasn't disclosed. I didn't even know his name for six months. He was already a defendant in a negligence lawsuit at that same facility, and Townsen was a co-defendant. They said nothing. I still don't fully know what was done to me in that operating room; upwards of 13 individuals stared at my nude body for over 5 hours. My mind will never recover. That nurse likely saved my life. Later, Dr. Dror Paley, a leading limb reconstruction specialist, confirmed one of the procedures had caused permanent loss of push‑off ability in my foot. He said he rarely performs that operation because of how disabling the outcome can be. Independent doctors later determined I never had the conditions those surgeries were supposed to treat. Something I later learned was a pattern for my "surgeon". Townsen knew. I've lived in constant pain since that day. I'm a single mother to a special‑needs child and can no longer care for him as before. I've needed three corrective surgeries and still have severe nerve damage, pain and muscle loss. My knee function score was 21 out of 100, a level of major disability. Townsen billed $315,052.30 for my two‑day "outpatient" stay. Charges included equipment never used, implants not in my body, and anesthesia billed twice. When I questioned the bill, they stopped responding. There's now a Texas Medical Board investigation into my surgeon. The facility once operated as Humble Surgical Hospital, GOOGLE THAT NAME. The nurses there knew what was happening. They tried to transfer me. They cried and prayed with me. If you're being referred to this facility, or any place, ask questions: * Is it truly a hospital or an outpatient center? * Who will be in your operating room? * Are they involved in litigation? * Who oversees your recovery, and is a physician actually on site? I didn't ask those questions. I'm asking them for you now. Patients, beware.
