I love this place. I travel to Fort Worth a few times a month, and I'm not a huge fan of a lot of the downtown restaurants. Until I found this. Not pretentious at all. Laid back. Typically quiet. And even after my second visit, Kevin remembered me and brought me the same drink and remembered my order. I'm sure other stuff there is awesome, but I'm Japanese Turkey Sandwich until I die. Saw this place in Insta and had it on my bucket list. Glad I finally got to check it out! Prices are VERY reasonable and portions generous. I got two street tacos and the brussels. All the meat is smoked in house (per the owner who was busy working that day ) They offer a full bar with specials(after 4pm I think) and even a house wine daily for only 5.00 (all day) They have several cases of beverages that can also be purchased to go or dine in! Talk about budget friendly!! THe owners are both chefs and it shows in the quality of food they are serving, They also make some leather items for sale too! Mediocre food at an unreasonably high price. I work nearby and have recently been exploring the shops and restaurants, so when I saw Neighbor's House and it's fresh facade, I got excited and really wanted to go inside. A couple of weeks later I was running on a tight schedule and needed lunch. Initially I wanted to go to Salsa Limon, the Mexican restaurant a few blocks away that I know is superb, but like I said I didn't have a lot of time. I took a quick walk over to Neighbors and was welcomed by adorable decorations and a fresh interesting layout. It looks as if the owners previously ran a clothing boutique since all of the food items are displayed in such a way that they look like gifts. I would equate the options to what you'd find in a Home Goods or Central Market, but with an extra $1-$2 tacked on. I made my way to what I assumed was the deli area and ordered street tacos. One shrimp, one barbados, and one chicken, with a side of street corn. I wandered around and noticed that there were virtually no prices listed on anything. A random small chalkboard let me know the price of some seasoned nuts on a shelf. After wandering briefly, I went over to the gentleman who was previously wearing his mask under his nose and I checked out. After getting back to my office I was ravenous, so I dug into the street corn. It doesn't come with the usual mayonnaise cream that is included in street corn (for whatever reason), so I added in my packet and hoped for the best. I was disappointed. The corn itself looks roasted, and the cheese roasted as well, but there doesn't seem to be an adequate amount of seasoning in the corn. It tasted microwaved and bland. On to the tacos... The fried shrimp taco had whole cilantro leaves and a sliver of sour cream on top. I dug into the shrimp and noticed that the shrimp itself tasted somewhat fresh, but for whatever reason the crust was SALTY. Why someone would add this much salt to breading on SEAFOOD was incredulous, and I felt like a koala chewing on a piece of eucalyptus when I chewed on the cilantro. It made me sad that I didn't go to Salsa Limon instead. I took a bite of the other two tacos but threw them away as the barbacoa taco was dry and flavorless, and the chicken taco tasted like cardboard. I didn't even mention the dog roaming about as they were making food, but I figure that is something important to mention. If I wanted dog hair in my food, I could've made a sandwich at home. read more

As other reviews explain, most items lack prices, and $20+ is pretty steep for a carryout sandwich/side when Third Street Market, Salsa Limon, Freshii, etc. are only a few blocks away at more normal prices. The food is good and the location is well-appointed. I'd go back with improvements to pricing and pricing transparency. They also didn't have my order in their system when I arrived. It was quickly corrected and they were apologetic. Not a problem for me. Only noting because others seem to have had the same issue. read more

This wonderful place has been on my list to visit and I had the chance today and it exceeded all expectations! As we walked in for lunch , we were greeted by a very nice person who offered us samples of some of the daily pastries...they were incredible! Long story short, I had the chef's table lunch--lasagna and it was superb!! My friend's both had sandwiches and loved them, as well. I am hoping to return for dinner and wine sometime very soon. 1. Very confusing setup. You are able to "pay/order at any register" but after you wait for 10 minutes for someone to attend you, someone comes up and tells you that they are closed and then you go to another register where after they look up from their phone, they tell you to go back to the other register that was closed. 2. Make sure you repeat your order to the staff, and also double check with the chefs just in case they "forgot" to add something to your order, like an egg to your avocado toast. 3. When they do say they "forgot" to add something to your order, be prepared for someone from the staff to tell you "oh well." Not everyone is rude, someone might say "sorry" 4. Some staff will lean on counters and look like they've had a rough day, even though it's still breaKfast time, other staff will go above and beyond, like the ones at the bar and the managers. read more

My family and I had just wrapped up some photos across the street and wandered into this place. It was an off time so there was just one person working at a table eating some light fair staff was SO friendly. I mean over the top friendly. Guys in the kitchen were smiling and even though we didn't know the place existed prior to stumbling upon there we decided to sit and eat because of the inviting atmosphere that and my wife thought the succulents by the front were the cutest. We ordered a couple of their quarter horse and Appaloosa and ordered their doghouse as a breakfast bowl. The food was great. It's hard to rave about eggs bacon/sausage and cheese etc. too much because it is done by so many places in town but out of convenience we ended up here and we loved it. We didn't have any bar drinks but we noticed there was a nice bar. We had a baby with us and the FOH staff were very cute with him. I am so in love with Neighbor's House Grocery. It's a mix between Eatzi's and Central Market with Chick-fil-A's customer service times 2. The is food is tasty, always fresh and I also enjoy the unusual options such as Halibut Chowder. Today on my 6th or 7th visit, Ron helped me with the simple task of fixing hot coco. I bought 1 packet and he kindly heated some milk and continued to make the coco for me. I was floored because I had no issues making it myself and he could have easily handled me the hot milk and sent me on my way. Taking it a few steps further he asked me to taste it to see if it was hot enough. It was a little cold and he proceeded to warm it up. WOW!! Their food is good, and they're really close to my office so it's convenient for lunch. Prices are kind of high, but it's comparable to other downtown places. I'm giving it 3 stars because the last 3 times I have been in there I have had to wait an unreasonably long time for my order and they have messed it up somehow each time. Today they forgot the cheese (even though they asked me if I wanted it and said yes) on my fish tacos, and they keep forgetting to include lime. So I think it's pretty played out for me at this point. For the price I'm paying I expect them to get simple things like that right. read more

There was a beautiful pooch coming to visit periodically, everyone was wearing a mask, staff was very welcoming, drink prices were very fair and the food was fantastic!
