Boba options aren't as plentiful as SGV, but we felt pretty optimistic about Teaspoon. We were in the area after eating sushi and decided to grab some drinks for dessert. There was a good number of customers still in the store an hour or so before closing. All four of us ordered a drink each, and I think maybe only 1 drink out of the 4 felt pretty good. The other three were subpar, and unfortunately the one drink I ordered was pretty bad. Menu is pretty diverse - they have their classic tea drinks but also some signature items as well. You can customize your drink to your liking, which I thought was pretty nice. I went with the creamy jasmine with less ice and sugar and added boba. This drink tasted like straight up diluted milk - boba was alright and decent, but there was no tea flavor at all. We tried to ask if they could add some additional tea to make the drink stronger, but we were told that they cannot because they'd have to make a whole new batch. My friends ordered signature drinks - some opted for the sparking water option, which definitely made it taste slightly better. Good amount of tables if you want to sit and chat or do some work. I have always seen IG posts about this place and did not expect that this boba shop was near where I was dining for lunch with my fiancee and his brother. First of all, the ambiance of this boba shop is aesthetically cute. It is quite spacious and chill. Definitely a good place to hang out with friends. There's even a little device by the cashier if you want to take cute pics. I was actually curious about how to use it but was too shy to ask. As for the drinks, there are definitely a lot of options. Whenever I am trying a new boba shop, I have to get the boba milk tea or something similar (not all stores name their drinks the same). So I ordered the Boba Milk Tea even though their fruit teas look more delicious, and honestly, I had mixed feelings about it. I like the drink at first because it has the strong tea flavor mixed with some milk. But after awhile, I started to not like it because the milk tea itself started to taste watery instead of creamy. And this is what scares me whenever I try a new place and order their milk tea drinks because I am always afraid that their drinks would be too watery. As for the boba pearls, I thought it was overly sweet but I guess it's a good thing that I ordered less sweet or else the overall drink would be way too sugary for me. Honestly, even though I had mixed feelings about the drink I ordered, I still think it's better than what I expected. If anything, I think it's better than the other boba shop (name shall not be mentioned) that I went to and had their boba milk tea. I would still order this drink again but without the boba pearls. Mind you since I don't like my drinks very sweet I generally always order a fresh tea with no sugar and boba or coconut jelly. The tea was good but the bobas were slightly mushy and they don't give you very much boba considering they charge $1 for the extra topping. The ambience is cute inside and the service was good. I do like their motto of " Enjoy life one teaspoon at a time". This is a good boba tea place but I just wish they gave a little more boba and it wasn't quite so mushy, in all fairness, maybe it was just an off day for their boba. Me and my family ordered on the kiosk and when i stepped away near the front counter to let my boyfriend order, I hear the worker sigh and say to her coworker "(coworker's name) Wow I can't wait to close right now!" However given I came in at 9:45 pm i gave her the benfit of the doubt and I understand how closing is considering I've also worked in food service. But there were already 3 other parties in there. Other than that, I am giving 3 stars because the drinks/quality were good and ALSO I've come in on Christmas and met the owners, so I know the owners are kind but their workers and their service isnt. I've come in before and when I've asked workers questions about their menu they didnt know how to answer me or somewhat dismissed me. But moving on, when it was 10 PM, the worker came to the seating area to let us know we are closed. The people left inside were my family, another group of 3. So we all get up and leave and start throwing our trash by the trash can. And the worker was starting to take out the trash, my family was able to throw ours out. But for the party 3, one of the ladies throws her drink out and the worker replies "Oh?" and the other 2 were trying to throw out theirs and the worker goes "Can you throw your trash outside?" and the 2 ladies were like "Oh." and the worker closed the trash bag in front of their faces. I just thought that was incredibly rude and this experienced probably will have me and my family not return. read more
