I'm so happy to have a place near the brea/fullerton area that has açai bowls! Their bowls are good and filling even though they can be a bit pricey. Their service is great and the workers are super friendly but I don't get why they charge $6.50 for the their grab 'n go drinks (bottled drinks) which is 16.9 fl oz. when you can get a 24 oz. juice/smoothie for 50 cents more. I guess you pay for the fact that you don't have to wait for your drink to be made but in my opinion they should lower the price just a bit. My go-to drink is the toxic flush with half of the ginger in it. I like ginger but at times it can be too harsh for me so I like to ask for half. They recently added new items on their menu which I am looking forward to try when I come back. read more

Came here on a busy Saturday afternoon for some juice. Didn't feel like eating anything because it was so warm, so I thought I'd take my nutrients in with a straw. I should have known this place would be busy; it was the weekend and it's in a crowded shopping center that's always packed no matter what time of day you stop in. The workers however have the order system and making process down so that the wait time is minimal, even when you're at the end of the line that's almost out the door. They're friendly and heard them making recommendations to newbies that had never experienced their juice before. That's a good sign because the whole process can be overwhelming... especially if you're only encounter with it is from a carton or a Jamba Juice. I went with the Pumpkin Pie choice that was being offered because of the holidays. It came with pumpkin puree, dates, banana, cinnamon, agave nectar, cashew nut milk, and nutmeg. It was literally like drinking a piece of the pie through the straw. Because they don't use any extra sugars other than what's already in the fruits so it wasn't overly sweet. I'm glad I got a small version because I was already full about 3/4 of the way in and couldn't imagine finishing a larger size. One thing to note about this place is that it's extremely loud from the blenders. They can't help it, but I wouldn't sit inside, but instead sit as far away from the place as possible in the seating provided in the courtyard. Nektar oh how I actually crave your delicious, healthy and super yummy juices and smoothies. My favorite is The Greenie without apples but still super yummy and I add ice to it. Since I limit my sugar intake apples are a no no and when I need a cleanse I opt for their 3-day advance cleanse which is easy to follow and they provide all your bottles in a cool little bag. This Nektar as all others tend to be noisy, but it's no bother to me as I tend to take my juice to go. But if you prefer to enjoy your drink there they do have a nice patio outside. The staff is super friendly and knowledgable of all their products and I often see them chatting with customers that are new to juicing and explaining their products to them and making them feel at ease, which makes you want to keep going back. Ran in to pick up the drinks and it wasn't until we were already driving away that we discovered how awful the mango smoothies were. Juice is good...but for my money and my time, I'd rather head down the street to Mother's Market. At least there the employees aren't rude and actually give a damn about their product. The staff here acts as if they don't get paid to take care of customers. This isn't a club. Stop fucking with the stereo. Show some customer service skills!?!! Recent issues: 1) Asked for a medium sized drink. She asks if I want ice. I said yes. She grabs the large cup and starts writing down my name. I tell her that I wanted the smaller size and she says "Oh, if you want ice, we do the bigger cup. It's still the same price." Okay whatever. Normally I go to the Nektar in Anaheim Hills but I decided to check this one out. I stopped in on a Saturday morning to pick up a couple of 2 day cleanses and when I walked in I certainly didn't get the fresh and cool vibes you normally get when you walk in juice bar. It smelled like a juice bar and it was loud like a juice bar but the people there seemed to hate working at a juice bar. I walked over to where the cleanses were and grabbed a couple. I asked the girl behind the counter for additional information and she was so annoyed. All I asked was, "Hi, I'm interested in 2-2 Day Cleanses. Is everything I need here?" Excuuuuuuuse me. So I grabbed what I need and went to the register. I needed 1 more bag so I asked the cashier if they had more in the back. She said, "Yea". Ummm ok well can you go get it? I'm not here to take inventory. By this time I just wanted to pay for these damn cleanses and leave. On a plus note. Incredibly slow! Don't come here if you are in a rush, your order will take a minimum of 45 minutes. They don't apologize for the wait and have a terrible attitude. I scrambled to get back before closing so I could use the happy hour receipt, and made it just 4 min before closing. Unfortunately, they're already half way through closing clean up, so my hopes weren't high when I cracked the door to ask if they were still open. One of the girls said no, they were closed, with a glum face. A nice young man who was sweeping the floors invited me in anyway and said yes we're still open! He then proceeded to take my order, and heave bags of vegetable out from the fridge to make me a very guilty cup of juice. All that and he was smiling the whole time! Wanted to see what all the craze was about for acai bowls and finally tracked down a place that makes these healthy concoctions during my thanksgiving break back in the OC. I originally went to Drinkbar Juicery in Placentia salivating and eager to get my hands on an acai bowl, but to my dismay they were closed for the next 30 minutes and I was starving. So, my impatient self yelped the next nearest place and Nekter popped up not too far away in Brea. My first impression of Nekter was that it looked exactly like the interior of a Jamba Juice or Juice it Up (which makes sense since this is a juicery). I had perused Nekter's menu through reviews and the yelp app for quite some time already before I even set foot into the store. Naturally, anything with peanut butter screams "Jenny, I'm delicious and nothing can go wrong in the world with me in your hands." Also, I felt pretty lucky to not run into any long lines or wait times that day as it seemed to be a prevalent problem amongst fellow yelpers. First impression of the acai bowl was the bowls were freaking FAT (just imagine a normal frozen yogurt cup that's been flattened out) and sadly it wasn't as pretty and colorful as all the instagram pictures I've seen floating through my newsfeed so I couldn't join the IG trend. However, the first bite was slightly sweet, creamy, cool, a little chunky, and just oh-so delectable. Honestly, it tasted like a muted peanut butter frozen yogurt topped with a mountain of granola and some fruit. I don't understand how something that's supposedly "healthy" can taste so sweet. I'm sure it has a high amount of calories for what is, as well as sugar. But, the nutrients this acai fruit boasts it offers can probably counterbalance the cons of the bowl, especially if you share it or eat it in place of a meal. I'm salivating again just thinking about the PB bowl. I don't even know what acai is supposed to taste like by itself since I've always tried it in combination with other things, but I'm definitely coming back any time I get a chance to be in my hometown again! read more

Whether I had a heavy weekend of drinking, I've been feeling guilty from my binge eating, or I just want a good tasting juice I always make sure to stop by here if I'm in the area. My wife and her BFF came here over the weekend to try the place out for the first time. It took 45 minutes for them to get their orders. Why did they bother waiting that long, you ask? You've invested your time, you might as well see it through, right? It's kinda like the phenomenon of spectator slowing when you see an accident on the freeway. Customers were irate and ready to storm the Bastille because the workers were making drinks one at a time and possibly growing and harvesting the fruit in the back to bring back to the blenders at the rate they were going. Eh, I've had better, but Nekter is not bad. I came here couple times because it's the closest Nekter location to where I live and it usually gets pretty packed, especially in the mornings. But, the line moves quickly and the order comes out quickly too. I've tried the popeye's acai smoothie (my favorite! just a classic green smoothie with spinach, fruit, and cashew milk), pink flamingo smoothie (I was pretty stoked to try this because of the pitaya and the vibrant color, but it wasn't that great.. lacked flavor? maybe it's because of the coconut water? I don't know), and the acai banana berry bowl (super classic and super yummy!). Overall, prices make sense and are worth the portion. You get what you pay for! Service is usually great except today because although the girl who took my order was friendly, she didn't even bother to give me my change back. My total was like $11.90 and I gave her 12 bucks so where is my dime, LOL. Usually, if it's not that much change like 10 cents, I just tell them to keep it, but this girl didn't even hand it to me.. like WTF what if I wanted that dime k????? Even the receipt.. she didn't even ask me if I wanted the receipt or not so I had to ask her to give it to me. It'd be nice if she learned some basic math and customer service skills. read more

Went for the first time today and wasn't too impressed. Here are my thoughts- The staff was really nice, all seemed very happy to be working. I was helped promptly and purchased The Greenie, the most common green juice. Then, I waited... And waited... 25 minutes passed before I got my juice. Even though there were a number of employees (five I saw) only one girl was juicing. It appeared that the others were for the cash register and blended drinks. Well, correct me if I am wrong, but this is a juice bar. Shouldn't more people be juicing? There were two juicers, only one being used. I could see the girl juicing struggling, nobody helping. The cashier just kept lining up drink cups for her to prepare. This was a problem, because since several people appeared to have ordered the same drink as me, she made a quadruple batch. Anyone who juices knows that some of the juice settles and its nice to give it a shake or mix before putting in a cup. She couldn't do this because the container she was juicing into was almost overflowing. As a result, my juice tasted bland and sour. I am positive I missed the apple juice. Oh, and the apples, they were very bruised and bad looking. I drank half and tossed it, not happy with the taste. I often go to Mothers market and the juice is good there. I have recently gone to Robecks and their Green juice is great. When they finish juicing they blend it for a few seconds to give it a good mix- a good idea if you ask me. Monday's are generally my "guilt day" i.e. the day that I tend to eat a light lunch after all the heavy lifting over the weekend so last week I was in the Brea area for work and was happy to find a branch of Nekter Juice Bar nearby so decided to give it a try. As I had been to the Nekter location in Manhattan Beach I was familiar with their menu which basically consists of juices, smoothies and bowls so this time I decided to get a bowl. At the peak lunch hour the place seemed pretty full with a couple of people enjoying their drinks, a couple waiting for their drinks a couple in line and a couple trying to decide what they wanted to get. The female behind the cash register was obviously new and was being trained by another female who was showing her the basic steps to punch in the order. This was not a problem for me as I knew what I wanted but if you are looking for recommendations forget about getting them here as the staff barely knows how to use the POS. I got an Acai Banana Berry bowl ($6.75) which is exactly what its name says blended acai topped with banana, strawberries and blueberries. Taste wise it was exactly same as the one that I've had in the Manhattan Beach location which is a good thing as they have managed to keep consistency across locations. The acai blend is not-too-sweet and toppings are sparse i.e. half a banana, one strawberry and a handful of blueberries. Size wise it is comparable to the 16 oz. acai primo bowl that you get in Jamba but with a lot less toppings. It's also a lot less sweeter than the bowl at Jamba. I prefer my bowls to be a little on the sweeter side but I knew what I was getting into here so no complaints. A final word on the cleanliness of the place. Simply put it was lacking. The entire area where the juices and bowls are made looked cluttered. The floor around that section looked sticky. The girls that were making juices did not wear any hats or hair nets and I don't remember if they were wearing gloves so I will give them the benefit of doubt on this one. To be fair the table that I sat on was clean, not sticky with residue or anything just that the area where they were juicing did not look clean to me. Overall I'm a fan of Nekter and this location too met my expectations, so if I'm in the area I would have no problem in returning. If you plan to visit definitely try their Date Nut smoothie which is delicious concoction unique to Nekter. read more

I absolutely love Nekter. Not only for it's health conscience menu, but just because everything tastes so yummy!! I'm even more in love now that Nekter Brea is open and I no longer have to drive all the way to LB to satisfy my cravings. I've tried every item on the menu. And I mean EVERY ITEM :) My favourites though would have to be The Toxin Flush, Date Nut, Tropical Cooler, and the Pitaya Bowl. MMM~SOO GOOD!! The staff here is also super friendly. The wait at times can be a little long and I wish that like the Costa Mesa and Corona Del Mar locations they would take online orders, but hey...oh well. I recommend callling in the order if you're in a rush otherwise Nekter is definitely the go to place for your healthy juice/smoothie/acai bowl needs. read more

Finally made the drive and picked up a pitaya bowl for breakfast here, it was just as tasty as my favorite location from Pasadena. I think the butteriness of the coconut butter is finally rubbing off, because I found myself rather actually liking it quite a bit. Well made and the portions are generous for about $8.00. I love the fresh organic coconut shavings on top that gives it the perfect crunchy texture as well and the hemp granola they add in: muey bueno. :3 SO GOOD. Staff was really friendly and the place was clean, since it was relatively early (around 9:30am) on a Sunday, the place wasn't too crowded yet so the service wasn't slow at all. Side note, most places that sell bowls average about $7-$9 now (might be expensive to some people). read more

Flavor wise, it's not as complicating as other acai bowls I've had, but the one thing that stood out to me is that it wasn't as sweet as other places which is a huge plus for me. Okay yeah, this place did not live up to my expectations. I've only had an acai bowl from this place called Birdie Bowl and Juicery before I went here and I can totes vouch that Birdie's is better! Boyfriend and I both got acai bowls here and I definitely think that we both preferred Birdie's. I got the Acai Tropical and he got the Acai PB. For some odd reason, I felt that mine had a gazillion times more granola in it than his. Might just be how it's supposed to be made, but I definitely did not pay all that money for a bowl of granola. The fruits did not taste as fresh as Birdie's, but other than that it was okay. The bowl is pretty big and I did not finish mine so I think you can split it between two people. This place is located in the plaza with the Wal Mart on Imperial, just FYI in case you were too lazy to google map its location. Not this location* Myself, my husband, and our young Daughter love the concept of Nekter Juice Bar and the Quality of the Products the brand produces. The Anaheim Hills store is our favorite location because they never screw up our orders, and they always notify us prior to making our product if they are out of one of the ingredients. The products at the Anaheim Hills location also always taste the same / as they should. The Brea location however is an entirely different story... Our orders were consistently made wrong. The smoothies didn't taste as they should half the time. Often, When the store ran out of specific ingredients the associates would substitute other ingredients into our order only to notify us later, if they even notified us at all - (Our daughter has a severe nut allergy, so substituting nut milk for apple juice realllly doesn't work for her!) And substituting the hemp granola instead with the gluten free oats that you can hardly chew through is simply going to cause my husband to return the bowl.) Unfortunately, these scenarios played out at least every 3 out of 5 visits and because we go to Nekter Juice Bar almost every day, after a few months we decided we would never frequent this particular location again despite the fact that it is in close proximity to our gym. read more

Decided to stop by this location on the way to work to get myself my usually toxin flush juice. When I came in, the girl that was working greeted me right away, and waited at the register until I was ready. I ordered my drink and proceeded to wait at the pick up counter for my drink. While I was waiting, the girl was making small talk with me and I mentioned that I had a migraine. She then mentioned that a ginger shot might help with that. I said that I would consider that next time and didn't think anything of it. When my drink was ready, she gave me a my order along with a ginger shot that had some strawberries in it. I was really shocked that she made one for me since I didn't order it. She said, "I hope this makes a feel a little bit better," and then went to go help another customer. I thought that was really nice of her, and the shot did help with the migraine. I wish I knew her name, but after that, this location is my new favorite juice bar. read more

Yesterday visiting the Brea location, was my first experience visiting a Nektar Juice Bar. It was around 11am. My juice was delicious, Toxin Flush with beets and extra ginger. So deliciously spicy! Not so delish was the appearance of the location and staff. The indoor seating area was messy, tables looked like they hadn't been wiped down in a while. And during the 20+ minutes I was there, no one came around from the back to clean or sweep. All except for one staff member, in a bun and headband, the rest of the female employees had their hair down or loosely back. All I could think was that I was going to get some hair juiced along with my veggies. Yuck. Also it seems that they are uniformed to be dressed at in black but one was wearing "Pink" leggings. Great advertisement for V.S., I guess. One of the staff members with loose hair, while I was watching picked her eyes and then grabbed the gloves by the outside finger tips. The tips that touch the veggies and fruit! That's pathogen transmission. Gross. Perhaps an overview on the handling of PPE is in order. I will definitely be trying to find another local juice bar, just perhaps not this location. read more

After reading the reviews for this specific location, I was extremely hesitant to come to the Brea location and was willing to drive the extra 7 miles to the Anaheim location. Previous reviewers said how dirty the place was and how bad the wait can be for their orders to come out. Personally, I had a good experience! Our Acai Bowls came out in about 5 minutes and yeah there are a few fruit and vegetable pieces on the floor here and there but I didn't think it was dirty at all. They're not using those pieces for the customers obviously and it didn't hinder their performance or speed in creating these healthy friendly concoctions so I don't have an issue. Came on a Sunday with my gf and she ordered the Banana Berry Acai Bowl and I got the Pitaya Bowl. The Pitaya is BOMB! Perfectly sweet and there is so much granola, you can have some in every spoonful. The Banana Berry Bowl however, I'm not really a fan just because it was ridiculously sour. Might try the PB Bowl next time or just stick with the Pitaya Bowl. read more

Terribly slow during Rush Hour (ordered at Nekter, walked to Flame Broiler to buy lunch, walked back, still waited 20 minutes), but refreshing, healthy, and definitely a step up from Jamba Juice (and around the same price too!). Came back on a different day at 3:30 and my smoothie was ready before my co-worker was able to order. Greenie: at first it was a little hard to drink this one. Never had parsley in a smoothie before and it added an unsavory bite. Tropical Cooler Smoothie: delicious pina colada-y mixture with healthy kale and spinach. I will probably avoid the Greenie, but I will definitely be back. Nothing quite like a healthy smooth to boost your mood, curb hunger, and add a healthy dose of fiber into your life. read more

Let me just say I am ob-sessed (hyphen intended) with this place. My boss grabbed me one from their HB location one morning at work and I was immediately hooked. Thus far I've only had the Toxin Flush but it's absolutely delicious. Not only are you drinking something healthy, but it tastes good so you feel twice as good once you've gotten to the bottom of your cup! You can even design your own juice if you want to or switch out ingredients. At about $4.75 for a 16 oz, it might seem pricey but let's be honest, you probably spend that much on that Starbucks Caramel Macchiato you buy and one of these is actually good for you. Plus, as someone who used to make juice myself, you would spend much more than that just to buy the ingredients to make your own. Service here was great. Quick and friendly. I was in and out and ready to flush those Toxins in no time! It shares a parking lot with a lot of other places so if you go on a weekend like I did, you might have to search a bit for a parking spot but other than that...I am so on board the Nekter juice train! read more

This is my second time doing the cleanse with nektar juices. My first time I went with the classic cleanse. It was great. I felt healthier and it was a great jump start for clean eating. Today I came to pick up the two day advanced cleanse. I came in around 6. There was no wait. I was in and out in 10 minutes. The one day cleanse is $40. The two fay cleanse is $80.
