Nekter is my favorite juice place in Knoxville. Although we live across town, I find myself headed out here on the weekend. It's a nice add-on outing to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. As far as juice, there are options aplenty. Everything is made to order. They have great blends on the menu and you can customize most of the juices. The Nekter app allows preordering and shows the customization options. It also gives you rewards and coupons for $$$ off. In addition to juice, Nekter has a vegan ice cream. This dairy free ice cream is REALLY good. I'm not vegan. But, I'd pick their vanilla over many conventional ice creams. My kids even like it. Nekter also has oatmeal, açaí bowls, and some seasonal items. I tried their pumpkin bowl and it was very tasty (although a bit pricey @ $9). Overall: Highly recommend. The smoothie was delicious but I ended up skipping lunch because of how much I spent on the smoothie. I'd definitely visit here all the time if they were more reasonably priced. While waiting on our carry out order, we watched an employee scrape the toppings off a bowl into a trash can behind the counter and replace with new toppings before bagging it up to-go. Tried Nekter for the first time today and was not disappointed! Lots of parking outside and lots of seats inside. Would be a great place to do work online, as they have free WiFi and ample plug ins. Could've ordered online with the app, but didn't. Not too busy today, so stepped right up and order an açaí superfood bowl, which was easy to customize and around 11 bucks. Took about three minutes before they called my name to come grab my bowl, and trust you'll need two hands for this one. Really big serving in a plastic cup. Didn't see recycling though, so that kinda stinks. Anyway, tons of yummy toppings in my bowl, but a lot of smoothie bowl underneath left me feeling like I really got my $11 out of it. Recently, I ordered a 3 day cleanse from these folks and, 3 ginger shots. It was a huge disappointment. I've done juice cleanses, routinely, for the last ten years and, from a variety of sources. Traveling frequently, I've done cleanses from Hawaii to Utah to Florida to Costa Rica and, everywhere in between. Some times, I've ordered them to be shipped to my home and, other times I've made them myself. Never once, have I been disappointed. So, when I started this cleanse and, found that most of the juices were absurdly sweet, it was a big surprise. Not only was the taste unbearable but, there is a concern over how much sugar was in them. Of course, it isn't added sugar. It is from fruit juice but, too much sugar is too much sugar, regardless of source, especially when the goal is a healthy cleanse. The ginger shots were mostly lemon. I asked for straight ginger. It was a total waste of money. These juices are not cheap. I wrote to the corporate office and, hope they work with me to make this right, somehow. Experienced or, serious juice cleansers beware. read more
