Since we lived in Hong Kong at the time it was difficult to arrange weddings with the time difference but Whitney was very accommodating! The venue is AMAZING! All our guest made comments about how lovely, beautiful and spacious the venue is. Nella Terra is a beautiful venue that we and our guests really enjoyed, especially the out of town visitors. The staircase, water features, and vineyards (and cows and llama!) make for a memorable experience. The tent helps navigate unpredictable weather. If you are considering this venue, do note that certain choices will be a bit limited - for example, your default hours onsite don't start until 3 pm, and you have to choose a DJ from a short list of options. But these constraints are all stated very clearly throughout the process. All being said, we had a great experience. We were able to bring in some outside vendors and personal touches to make the wedding feel like ours. The required partner vendors - Simply Lovely and On the Vine - were a delight to work with as well, and Nella Terra's sparkling wine remains one of our favorites. read more

My now-husband and I looked at multiple venues and did an extensive search for wedding venues. A friend of mine told me about Nella Terra because she said it was one of the prettiest weddings she had attended. When we did a venue tour, my husband and I fell in love and knew right away this was our venue! The grounds are very well kept and it's a hidden gem in Sunol. There are so many photo opportunities for both wedding couples and guests: the long staircase, the bridge, the pond and trees, the grass fields, the large "LOVE" sign, etc. There's also a very nice onsite bridal suite that brides can use when getting ready (air conditioned and furnished). We had guests flying from all over (domestically and internationally) and we wanted to make sure we chose a venue that was worth the trip and was nearby other attractions. I couldn't recommend this venue enough for future brides. We have unforgettable memories and cherished photos from our wedding day thanks to Nella Terra. Aside from weddings, they also have tastings, sell wine, and host different events. Luckily this means my husband and I can take advantage of this and visit often when in town for date nights or when we want to walk down memory lane! Even if you aren't looking for a wedding venue, still come check this place out for delicious wine and beautiful views. Tip: definitely take golden hour photos in their tall grass fields. I photographed a wedding here last weekend and instantly FELL IN LOVE!! We started with getting ready portraits and the bridal cottage was not only super cute, but well lit! Lots of natural light and clean walls perfect for photos (major plus!). I was continually wowed by all the beautiful spots for photos around the venue, the staircase, the garden, the bridge, and the rolling hills for sunset portraits.. SO BEAUTIFUL! Visit Nella Terra just to see their simply stunning events venue. With a stream, bridge and lush gardens, it's like an oasis especially in summer when the hills are brown. The tasting area is an open patio just outside the owners' home, it's informal and relaxed. Very friendly service by the owners and some of their relatives, truly a family run business. The wines are pretty good, not great, am sure they'll get better. They do allow picnic baskets which is a huge plus. I had a very pleasant experience. It is absolutely gorgeous with lush greenery, a picturesque pond with water features right behind the ceremony pergola, an elegant white tent for the reception, and golden rolling hills all around. We did a wonderful tour with Griffin on Sat afternoon! He is part of the family that owns & runs this beautiful vineyard/wedding venue. What a truly great visit my wife & I experienced here! We're still buzzing today, several days later!! We saw first-hand what all the 5-star write-ups that compelled us to visit, were all about!! We can only imagine how glorious a wedding would be, given the stunning landscape architecture of the nuptials settings themselves! This is seriously a hidden gem! My first time here and I was ready to go back the next day. Although we did not get to wander around the wedding venue (it was being set up for a wedding) we could see it from above and it looks beautiful. The patio looks over the venue, vineyards and the hills. We arrived around 2 pm (reservations required) and it was not too busy. We liked all of the wines we tried ($15 per tasting.) *I URGE ANY COUPLES LOOKING TO HOST AN EVENT HERE READ THIS* My fiance and I were overjoyed when we decided to host our wedding at Nella Tella. As Fremont natives it was incredibly exciting to get married in our hometown and somewhere close to our elderly parents who could attend with little to no problems. We decided to pay Nella Terra's exorbitant fees for a Friday night wedding in September 2020. Everything was going well until the COVID-19 pandemic started earlier this year. We did not hear a word from Nella Terra during the early stages of the pandemic until our second payment was due. At this point Nella Terra did not mention anything regarding postponing the payment, delaying our event, or any mention of the pandemic and its effects on weddings in 2020. It was clear they just wanted their money. We didn't hear anything back from Nella Terra until my fiance and I got ansty in March as the country shut down and the pandemic set in on the entire world. We expressed our concerns with hosting a wedding at their venue and particularly the safety of our parents, grandparents, and other at risk groups. Nella Terra did not appear concerned about the pandemic and assured us that it would be a non-issue for weddings in September, they were wrong. As the pandemic grew out of control through the summer we still never heard from Nella Terra until we again reached out reiterating our concerns from before and asking for a refund because it was clear that Nella Terra wouldn't be able to host what we agreed to originally. At this point Nella Terra was willing to admit that the pandemic was an issue and offered us some options to reschedule. These options were not reasonable and left us feeling like Nella Terra was trying to maximize their profit for 2020 and 2021. For example, after paying a high premium for an in wedding season evening event, Nella Terra offers us a Saturday morning (we would have to be out of sight by 2pm for the night wedding). The worst part is, if we want to host a wedding on a Friday in September 2021, we would have to pay an additional deposit of $6,000. According to Whitney, our original deposit "vanished". It is clear Nella Terra is not interested in dealing with couples currently affected by this pandemic because they are still advertising venue tours for new couples and various other options for reduced priced events. None of these options were made available to us because Nella Terra is only interested in maximizing the amount of money they can make during the COVID-19 pandemic. At this point, the idea of our dream wedding is long gone. We would never have agreed to a contract with Nella Terra if we had known what kind of people we were dealing with. We just want our money back and to move on. We all have better things to do with our lives, especially right now. For some reason Nella Terra continues to draw this out in the hopes we will cancel and they can enforce their contract and run away with our money without providing any services. Hidden gem of the Bay Area is absolutely right! I've been a wine club member since they began the wine club and I plan to be a lifer. The wine is amazing (while still affordable) and the views from the tasting room are even better! It's very easy to lose track of time as you wine taste and look into the vast rolling hills. The staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable, without the pretentious vibe you get at some wineries. Not to mention, I love supporting small family businesses. Lastly, the tasting room overlooks one of the most spectacular wedding venues I have ever seen! What can I say... Do I recommend?? Ohhhh-yeahhh! It's August 6th, 2022, and my daughter Ashley along with her fiancé Ryan, made a reservation for the family to see a spot they fell in love with and wanted to be married at, Nella Terra. This spot is a family run hidden gem which I must admit, made me smile from start to finish. We arrived at Nella Terra for their open-house and we were greeted by a smiling face which belonged to a young lady named Bella. She had a smallish group to entertain but made everyone feel special and answered questions with a smile. The grounds here are just lovely and so serene! We all loved the place and it's now etched in stone; we're having a wedding at this very spot in 2023! So, our day didn't end there. We had a wine tasting with charcuterie scheduled for noon. The weather was sunny with a delicious breeze due to the hills and valleys surrounding the venue. We were greeted by Griffin, who turned out to be the nicest young man and a very informative and friendly host. As we were enjoying our afternoon wine(s), Gerry, owner and resident wine-sipper, stopped by our table (twice) to chat with us. It was like talking to a longtime friend. We spent a great afternoon chatting with he and his son Griffin, and when it was time to head back to reality, I knew our youngsters had chosen this place to be married for a reason I wasn't considering. They chose this spot because they were welcomed with open arms, made to feel like they belonged here, and were never pressured into any decisions they were not comfortable with. We feel incredibly lucky that we came across Nella Terra's petite wedding package during our search for wedding venues -- it was exactly what we wanted for our wedding, pandemic or otherwise! The venue has everything we wanted in such a small space: beautiful rolling hills, a small vineyard, an elegant pergola, and even a small garden. The grand staircase is perfect for a dramatic entrance, and I especially loved how the vines and greenery looked in the fall months! It was the perfect venue for the perfect day. Nella Terra was the venue of our dreams! Only with the help of our wedding planner were we able to find out that such an oasis actually existed. The minute we walked down the steps of the vineyard, my husband already knew that this was the place he wanted our wedding to be held! I honestly believe that pictures cannot capture just how beautiful and majestic the place really is. The venue has a lawn with a paved walkway (easily accessible for handicapped guests - something we were extremely happy about given that our grandmothers would be in attendance), a lake complete with a bridge that leads you to a waterfall, bocce ball courts and the best part - a tent (which is included with the venue)! Initially, it was a challenge to work within the restrictions of Nella Terra's third party vendor, Palmdale Estates, but due to legalities, Nella Terra now operates on their own so couples can bring in their own caterers (one of the prior restrictions). In early July 2022, we got married at Nella Terra. After scouting a number of different locations, we instantly fell in love with the venue. A few bullet points comes to mind: - Tent wedding! Definitely unique (at least here in the Bay Area) and it gives that extra venue vibes we were looking for - Beautiful garden/lake - Ceremony included a grand staircase where the bride can walk down to the ceremony section. Definitely adds to the dramatics for the bride's grand entrance - Video / photos turned out great due to scenery - Definitely a crowd pleaser type of location - Vendor list! It was super helpful having a list of preferred vendors they've worked with in the past already. We narrowed our selections down pretty quickly across the board (e.g. videographer, photographer etc.). Felt like we had the 'dream team' assembled that day. In summary, Nella Terra was a dream come true type of venue. Thank you to the staff there (along with our vendors) who helped organized our vision and made it became a reality. They took the stress off of us day of wedding and simply allowed us to enjoy the day! If you're looking for a unique venue, this is the spot in the bay area. Nella Terra is STUNNING! The moment Daniel and I stepped foot on the venue, we knew our search was over. There is a long and beautiful staircase surrounded by the grapevines, that makes for a statement grand entrance if you have your ceremony at the venue. The garden is so magical, and the beautiful waterfall makes for a great background for pictures/videos as you cross the bridge. The white tent is perfect, especially for a hot summer wedding, as it provides coverage from the sun, yet it allows some fresh air to pass through. We definitely recommend getting the white drapes for the tent, as it adds that extra touch of elegance! Let's not forget about the beautiful sunset that surrounds the property. The ceremony area was decorated beautifully, with the arch being coated with gorgeous floral arrangements. The reception was then held in the tent which was decorated with beautiful place settings and served amazing food. Nella Terra is just pure amazing! My husband and I went to about 20 different venues but Nella Terra was the 4th or 5th that we visited. We immediately fell in love with it but made sure we checked other places just in case. We compared all the other venues to Nella Terra and nothing compares! The minute I saw the stairs, I imagined myself going down it and even dreamt about it so there was no chance we were going to pass on this venue! Nella Terra is not on the cheap side compared to other venues we visited but they were flexible and really helped us with our payment schedule. They don't accept credit cards, only cash/check which is a "con" but again with their flexibility, we made it all work Lindsey was the person that gave us a tour of Nella Terra and was our contact until we signed the contract. She was great to work with and really helped us stay within budget and figure out how we can save in some areas. She was also quick to respond to emails and calls. We did both our ceremony and reception at Nella Terra. Our reception was under a tent, which we really like. At one point, they were planning on building a more permanent "barn" but was postponed. We were actually kind of happy that it got postponed because we really liked the whole tent-feel. The one thing we wished Nella Terra had is a bridge on the other side of the lake, closer to the tent since the reception and cocktail hour were there. Most of the people were hanging out in that area and walking to the bocce courts was just a little too far from there so nobody really made it to the bocce courts. As for the owners, they were great and very kind. In fact, Jerry came and said hi during our wedding day and helped with greeting our guests for a while. They live in the property so hours are not super flexible. You can add hours but it will cost you ($1,000/extra hour) but they give you access to venue for 8 hours, which is pretty good. Lastly, they surprised us by putting our names lit up in green lights on the hill behind the bocce courts! It was so cool. We definitely recommend Nella Terra! This review is for their wine tasting and not a wedding venue review. They are only open to the public on the first weekend of the month. A friend read about them and wanted to check it out before the hills turned brown. They invited us to go tasting with them and then picnic there after. We arrive and started to walk where we thought the tasting room was, but we were redirected by the staff up the hill to the tasting room. This is a beautiful venue but the tasting area is a little under stated given the rest of the place. We were warmly greeted and offered 5 wines in the tasting. I liked 4 of the 5. The first one was a sparkling wine. It was delicious and tasted of apricot. I'm not usually a sparkling fan, but this was good. The white, I did not care for at all. Next up was the GSM rosé semisweet and would be delicious on a hot day. The two reds were fantastic and it was hard to pick a favorite but the Pinot Noir won in the end. Nice balance and wonderful finish. It's a family run operation and we met most everyone that day. Very nice and approachable people. They are passionate about what they do and it shows. Almost 3 years overdue for leaving a review...but I give Nella Terra five stars! My husband and I looked at several venues but we wanted something different rather than having our wedding at a place that everyone goes to. After doing more research online, we came across Nella Terra. We both have never heard of the venue but it looked beautiful in the pictures so we made an appointment to check it out. As soon as we saw the venue we were sold. 1) It was breathtaking 2) It was a winery which I wanted 3) It was so close to home 4) It was an outdoor venue in a tent My husband and I are from Fremont and we were surprised this gorgeous place even existed so close to home! It truly is a one of a kind venue and feels like you're thousands of miles away. I booked the venue in 2015 for my 2016 wedding. It was way in advance but I couldn't wait. We were told that the venue was fairly new at the time so we were excited for our friends and family to see it. The owner Jerry was so nice! He introduced himself and gave us a bottle of wine to take home after we booked the venue. Leann Jackson who helped us through the process and the day of our wedding was so awesome! read more
