first off, I love the other locations and food was always good. The Chester location, Horrible! The order was delivered without one of my meals, No one would answer the phone when i tried to call them and the food that i did get was horrible. The steak was extremely tough, i threw it out. and the ribs were in so much barbecue sauce that i did not eat them either. I ordered the two meals that were delivered from another location two days ago and they were perfect. I wanted my wife to try this because she does not normally like this type of food. She tasted my food the other day and decided to give it a chance... Well, she is turned off again! Thanks for nothing!!. read more

If I could give service a 0, I would. It's advertised as Latin, but when I asked if they served a specific Latin food, the worker rudely responded "that's Puerto Rican", as though I had somehow offended her. She made it a point to say that it was a Dominican Restaurant (that apparently also sells BBQ). She could have said "I'm sorry, we don't carry that product, but we do sell....". I guess if you're looking for terrible service, workers who need to be schooled on how to speak to customers and food that looks dry and unappetizing, this is your jackpot. read more

I've tried to have a good experience with the food at this restaurant. But, the food sucks. Their chicken soup is thick and horrible. I've had chicken soup from many cultural restaurants and this Dominican restaurant has the worst chicken soup. To thick...like goo. it's as if they added flour in it. . Never going there again. After getting home and seen this so called Mangu We called the restaurant the person who answered the phone lied saying that that's what mangu looks like. Moving from Brooklyn I didn't think I would find good Dominican/ Puerto Rican food but Nellys is like eating at Abuela's house!!

The food was plentiful, looked amazing and tasted better than it looked! The service was fast and helpful with any questions that we had. The pricing was more than fair for what we received. The restaurant is small, but still roomy enough for comfort. We will be back! read more

Don't order food for delivery from these losers, they won't fill your order correctly. They won't call you if they are out of things, they simply will make the decision for you and decide who in your family will eat and who will not. Avoid this place and find alternates in your area. I went in hoping for some delicious Dominican food, eating Keto so I ordered a pork stew. Unfortunately I received a lunch tin full mostly with pork bones and large chunks of un-rendered fat with a small piece of meat on each. $16.00 for an inedible lunch plate. The food here is horrible, I've attempted to give this place chance after chance to redeem themselves as it's the only Dominican restaurant in the area and they fail miserably every time! There use to be a different latin restaurant here that went down after covid. This new one took over and so far everything was good. Service was great and the staff was friendly. Portion size is HUGE. Prices very reasonable and affordable. We will be coming back! read more

Firstly, the customer service is absolutely horrible. The bigger lady that works their is so beyond rude. I had asked for chicken empanadas during lunch time and was told there are no more chicken empanadas for the day and they would not be making more as they had beef left. This has happened on a few occasions. Will go back to patronizing Minas Spanish Kitchen in New Windsor since they can make chicken empanadas when ordered and without giving customers an attitude. 10/10 do not recommend. read more

Disgusting. Not only did our order have incorrect and missing items, but the food tasted bad. Mofongo was dry and didn't have any sauce. Empanadas were very light on the filling and lacked any flavor or seasoning. The chicken was completely overcooked and dry. Plenty of better places to get empanadas around here. read more

If I could give less stars, I would. My Doordash driver was totally on point. As far as Nelly's is concerned, I have never had food as bad as this. The Pernil was dry and well done at best, the tostones were basically sweet plantains that had no business being called maduros, the chicharron was burned with no flavor at all, filled with fat and very disappointing. The mofongo was dry and without flavor. I'm a NYC person born and raised where both Doninicans and Puerto Ricans have amazing restaurants. Nelly's however is a disgrace to Domincans in ways that I can even describe. This was a waste of money and honestly, I'm surprised they're in business. Go to Mina's in Monroe or New Windsor and you won't be disappointed. read more

I try to give this place a second shot months later. the first time around they messed up on my order forgot to put some of my order in and the food was just bland and dry I ordered yellow rice whole chicken whole bunch of stuff terrible. So before I wrote this review I said let me give this place another shot . I ordered the yellow rice stew chicken potato salad sweet plantains and once again the rice was hard dry no flavor stewed chicken no flavor what's so ever & potato salad no flavor a true insult to my culture the only Latin thing about this place is the title of the restaurant. This place is way overrated and the prices are too high for the quality of food that they serving save your money go to a legit Spanish restaurant there is no flavor here and I am all about the flavor.... and for the service the guy who helped me was respectful the young lady working behind a desk rude and nasty trust me stay away from this place read more

The food is ok, not something that you think about having once or twice a week. The real problem is the customer service. They should really hire people who care about their jobs and how they present themselves to paying customers, that way greeting and treating all customers respectfully and equally wouldn't be a hard task. If you're having a bad day save it for after you clock out and if you're a prejudiced person you shouldn't be working in the customer service industry, period. read more

Ordered mango to go when I got home it was more like mango soup. I called them and the person who answered try to lie and stated that this is how their cook makes it. When I explained I have order mangy from them before and it was not soup, he then stated it was they where running out. I advised him that he need to inform me that they had a problem with the mango and give me a choice not make me drive almost 45 ground trip to have to throw it away when I got home as it was not edible. Not once did he try to offer a solution other that when I asked to speak to mngr or owner to say he need my number to have him/she call me back. When I asked him if he was going to take my number he stated it was up to me if I wanted to give it to him. I hung up. We where a regular at Nelly's at Chester up to today.
