My daughter was scheduled for a gel polish removal (soak-off) and a gel manicure. Unfortunately, the service fell well below the level of professionalism and care we expected. The nail technician, Tyler, began removing her gel polish using an electric file. The speed of the drill was causing my daughter discomfort, and she had to ask him multiple times to reduce the speed. Rather than offering the standard soak-off process by wrapping the nails in acetone, he continued with the electric file, making the experience unnecessarily painful. During the manicure, Tyler attempted to use a cuticle nipper to cut my daughter's natural nails instead of a nail clipper. When we asked if a nail clipper was available, he stated that one was not. This raised concerns regarding proper nail care techniques and the tools being used during the service. Additionally, while performing the manicure, Tyler stated aloud, "You don't know everything." When I asked him whom he was speaking to, he replied that he was talking to himself. Regardless of the intended audience, the comment was unprofessional and created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Concerned by the service, I approached the front desk to explain what was taking place. Rather than acknowledging my concerns, one of the employees smiled and appeared to chuckle. This response felt dismissive and inappropriate, especially as I was attempting to address legitimate concerns about the quality of service and my daughter's comfort. My intention was not to seek a complimentary service or a refund. I simply wanted management to be aware of what occurred so that appropriate coaching and corrective action could be taken. Constructive customer feedback should be viewed as an opportunity to improve service standards rather than dismissed. Licensed nail technicians are trained on the proper techniques and instruments to use for different services, including the appropriate use of tools on natural nails versus artificial enhancements. Based on what I observed, I was concerned that proper procedures were either not being followed or not understood. I hope this feedback is received in the spirit in which it is intended--to improve the customer experience and ensure that future clients receive safe, professional, and respectful service. If management does not take this as a priority, then you do not deserve to be patronized !

Her nail tech was super chatty and friendly, making us both feel very welcome. She seemed to be communicating a ton with my friend throughout who's nails came out super nice & well shaped. Think her name started with a K? Jelly? Kim? Not sure but she was great! My nail tech was a lot quieter, which I didn't really mind lol. I explained that my pinky nail had been broken (hence why it was shorter) then when they asked me how much I'd like to cut I said "Just a little". They must've understood lol bc if you look at my pictures my left hand's ring finger is super short. Think they thought I wanted it to match my pinky... ahhhhh. I corrected them and kept a close eye on the cutting and shaping of my other nails (correcting crooked & too pointy nails several times) after and had no issues. If you're someone else tho, your natural nail getting cut down so drastically might have really pissed you off, but I couldn't be bothered to care that much lol. It happens! Plus it's not crazy noticeable. There was an issued excessive heat warning for this weekend, which might've been why they were so free with tons of seats open and nail techs available. They immediately noted down who I had requested and even addressed me by my first name without me saying anything! I was nervous to go to a new salon, but I had to follow Hannah to this new salon since she is the best of the best. I've been going to Hannah for my nail designs for years and every time, they come out perfect. There's parking in the rear of Ding Nail Salon, but also plenty of residential parking. I went on a weekend. I got a UV gel fill in with a design. I started chatting to ask why the store is named Ding Nail Salon and was told they wanted customers to think of them when their phones would chime and make the "ding!" noise. What a cute idea! I will be back soon to try a pedicure!

I ran across Ella & David's. I called to get information, David answered the phone and was extremely confident and answered my questions perfectly. I asked him if he had availability that same day, a Saturday mind you, and he told me to come right in. I did not even have to buy the Groupon and he still gave me the deal- cant say he will always do this but it was a great gesture. (Either way always call before you purchase Groupon's, sometimes they just post for advertisement). The salon was as busy as you would expect a salon to be on a saturday. However, without an appointment I only waited an hour. David talked me through other options and products to assist me through my "Rome Crisis." The entire Keratin process took about 3 hours, which i expected. The salon was great! Friendly, relaxed and everyone seemed to be a regular customer was treated like family. Ive been to other New York Salons and either everyone is up tight or they treat you like cattle. David and Ella's was amazing!!! So far my hair is pin straight. I am not a fan of the texture and feel but i'll wait until i wash it to really tell. I'll also post after Rome to let everyone know how it went. LAST AND FINAL NOTE: Ella's Salon is actually a salon that was located in an area that was devastated by hurricane Sandy. David and his stylist were kind enough take out their mani pedi spa area and allow Ella to set up shop. I just think that is just a really amazing gesture.

I called to see if they had availability and David said to come in that Monday (I found out when I got there he had come in JUST for me that morning.. AWESOME) and he said they would still honor the Groupon deal without me purchasing it (saves them a fee!). (You are also offered a free mani or pedi OR a trim with the deal). David was amazing and I will 100% be back to get the treatment done again. Best part: I have not once touched a straightener since this treatment and use a blow drier occasionally. A little over two months later and my hair is still air drying with just a little bit of wave. I have had the Keratin treatment done 5-6 times before at expensive salons and I would be pulling out my straightener and blow dryer around this time. Not sure if it's what David uses or how he does it.. but I don't see myself needing another treatment for a few months from now. Paid half the price I normally do and looks to be lasting twice as long. Nothing bad to say about this place at all and can't wait to return!
