Terrible experience, DO NOT GO WITH THEM. Very poor work, no professionalism, always late, very messy and dirty.

As a real estate broker, I referred Nelson to our buyer for an interior paint job for a beautiful home in Curtis Park after closing. Client now has to hire another painter to clean up his messy work: didn't remove the cover plates; didn't paint ceilings; didn't tape off properly; dropped paint on his original hardwood floors; overall patchy paint job. Just a terrible paint job. Not sure if he did the work or subbed it out as my client was out of town, hoping to come back home to move in. Nelson he took advantage of our client with this shoddy paint job than had the audacity to ask for more money. He's already over paid for what he's done. Definitely will not recommend him again to anyone. read more

Last year, I hired Nelson Casco to paint the front of my house and to texture and paint the living room ceiling. Initially Nelson was quick to respond and had the lowest bid and was able to start right away. We agreed upon pricing and timeline. Then it went downhill from there. His team finished the exterior paint job. The two gentlemen did a great job, they were precise and very tidy. They laid down drop clothes and plastic drapes all around the work area even over the landscaping. But the paint that Nelson matched was not the right match. He even called me to tell me he needed more paint. It was an odd conversation because the same footage of the job didn't change. Nevertheless he bought more paint and I didn't pay for it. But wait for it... He then proceeded to miss the date for the interior living room. Oh buggers. This caused a negative domino effect with my other vendors. Keep in mind I was on a timed scheduled with a house renovation. Nelson knew this, that's why we agreed upon the schedule and dates. He not only missed the appointment but he responded a few days later. His said he forgot. So I reschedule and he shows up to do the work himself. Even though the house is empty, he didn't lay down a drop cloth. He stretched his work days out more than what was quoted because he has other jobs. Now I'm well over a week behind schedule for the paint work. Hustling now to reschedule with 3 other contractors. His team did great work on the exterior paint. But Nelson failed me by not being reliable and keeping his commitments to the entire job. It cost me a huge time delay and more money at the end by delaying my other contractors. If you decide to hire him, I suggest hiring him for simpler jobs not requiring a stringent schedule AND do not pay beyond the deposit until the entire job is completed. read more

I hate that I have to update my glowing review. When I hired Nelson, I told him not to low ball me because I wanted the job down right and I didn't want to take advantage of him. I told him that I would need touch up paint for the house and trim colors. He did not provide either. When I pointed out the down spout and cracking, he said he'd fix it for several weeks -- promising "tomorrow" at least three times. He never showed up. He insisted that I would need to give him more money to buy more paint. An average job at an average price. read more

Nelson was quick to reply back and gave us a quote to paint. Nelson was for sure the cheapest compared to the other quotes we received. We found out sooner rather than later that you get what you paid for. The only good thing that came out of this was the price the rest went down hill. He started right away and on time the first couple of days then he started showing up later and later and sometimes never showed up. He didn't even text or call us that he wont show up. During a two week span he would work maybe 3 times and a total of 8 hours and ask for more money even though we recently paid him. He would always be on the phone talking while working but when we text or call to ask if he's coming to paint to reply till the next day. It is obviously that he is doing other jobs while he is doing ours. Expect him to talk way longer than you though to complete the job. Cause apparently he as all the time in the world and then rushed it in the end. Majority of the time he will send his cousins to paint who seem to have no experience painting like himself. If I would to sum up his painting it would be like if I would have painted but worst and that says a lot. If I don't wear my glasses it looks fine but when I put them back on oh no! The are so many faults, like areas he missed, paint brush streaks, no clean lines and overall sloppy. As a painter how can you ignore this? Even our cleaner was frustrated at him with paint on the floors. We asked him to give us the receipts for cost of materials in which he did but also gave us a receipt was was not our materials and had other items added to ours like a soda or snacks. We let the snacks slide since his quote was low. For the next materials check he never gave us the receipts also he would lose track of how much we paid him. Thank goodness we kept track. Many times he would say he needed more money for materials so we gave hime more money but the next time he showed up no materials in his hands. So where did our materials go? All in all don't hire him. He also has another Yelp account under N&D Painting. Save you sanity and give a good pass on this person. He is the most unprofessional painter or (businessman if you call him that) we've ever met! read more

Beware, company posts on Yelp under multiple names. Having to take them to small claims court. Been chasing him for 8 weeks to make it right and he offered to refund a portion and never did. Did a stain/paint job to my oak stairs. Applied the stain incorrectly, didn't lacquer steps, paint bleed everywhere, and spent 50%+ time on his cellphone. Had multiple quotes for $1000-2000 more to resolve the issues and redo the work. Honestly, never showed up on time, always said he was coming and never showed up. Don't use unless you want to have subpar results and redo the work. Seriously has been a terrible experience. read more

He was true to his quote and when there was a hiccup, based on my own misunderstanding, Nelson fixed the problem himself. This was a two day job for Nelson and he had 1-2 assistants. All of the men were highly skilled painters with great attention to detail. They were professional and hard working. The price was very reasonable and fair. They exceeded our expectations with workmanship and details. They painted baseboards in areas we did not expect and painted an extra ceiling and CD case in order to make the whole area visually appealing. We contracted with Nelson for a fence job that involved four separate neighbors with varying requirements. The job was completed in one day without any major concerns or issues. After the job was started, I requested that a wrought iron fence be repainted as well. Nelson agreed and without delay tackled the project. There was one error in that two side gates were painted (and painted well) when they were supposed to have remained untouched. Nelson did a great job painting our kitchen and entry way! He also helped us paint match our walls! We are grateful for the job he did, we were quoted by another painting company for a lot more money. We had two walls that had wall paper on it and there was damage from the wall paper being removed. Nelson was able to repair it for us as well. He told us our options with the second wall, that there was a risk that the wall could become damaged again and could cost more money.
