I recently stopped by Nem Nuong & Rolls for a quick lunch, hoping to enjoy some tasty Vietnamese eats. I ordered the Nem Nuong Roll, Summer Roll, Shrimp Roll, and Filet Mignon Garlic Noodles, along with a Coke. Unfortunately, my experience was not what I anticipated. The wait time was about 15 minutes, which was acceptable for a pickup. However, when I approached the counter, the staff member took my receipt and threw it in the trash, which led to a mix-up with my order. After realizing one item was missing, I called back hoping for a resolution. Unfortunately, they couldn't send me a copy of the receipt and stated they couldn't issue a refund for the missing item. They suggested coming back another time for my money back, but without a receipt, I was left wondering how I could prove my case. Now, onto the food. The Summer Roll was disappointing, as it was soft and soggy, lacking the crisp freshness I expected. The Nem Nuong Roll, while freshly made, had a sauce that didn't have much flavor, which left me wanting more. Overall, my experience at Nem Nuong & Rolls was subpar. I'm a regular here! My favorite is the nem nuong spring roll and second is the chao tom spring roll. IMO, the nem nuong is more flavorful. Just make sure to peel off the plastic wrap before you eat it!! The sauce is warm and delish! The place is small and only has two tables. My go to location for me I have a party! They are great at catering spring rolls & nem nuong rolls. It's individually wrap so it doesn't stick together. The rolls are decent size and stuff with all the good veggies and meat. The sauce is good. Nem nuong is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes and this place does it right. The nem nuong is grilled and seasoned well. The other fillings in the spring roll complements the pork well. The dipping sauce is sweet, savory, and delicious... it reminds me of Brodard's famous orange sauce! The presentation on wrapping was done beautifully. Very clean and Neat, I appreciated the extra spicy sauce and garnishes for the spicy lovers. The portion is pretty big, you can probably get away with cutting it in half for parties & gatherings. I love how neatly its rolled and the pickled veggies and fresh lettuce. The crispy roll remains crunchy and nem nuong was seasoned and big chunk of meat. The quality is definitely better than Bodard to me. As for the sauce, Bodard wins on this one. California prices, not California taste. Please don't call this brodard. That's a big diss. I really don't understand how people say things are cheaper here than in California. I could find this cheaper and better in California. The reason asian food is so expensive here is simple. Competition or in the case of "diversified Houston" a major lack of it. Nem noung in Houston is relatively scarce so any "speciality" store can charge what they want. Can't get away with that in California especially the 626 and OC. Restaurants come and go because they got nothing bring to the table in California. The ones that stay and make it in California are real Jem's. read more

Came here for a togo order, it is mostly for togo orders there are a couple of tables in the place. The nem nuong roll was fabulous, we ate it a few hours later and it was still incredibly good. Next time we should try some more items, but also would definitely come back for these rolls. read more

First time trying Nem Noung was when Nem Noung & Rolls just opened 2 years ago. I love exploring new things. I was not disappointed and quite frankly, these were delicious. However, there was a problem. I spent enormous time with cashier unnecessarily trying to figure out how to order. The menu price was confusing. They listed single roll price but had to buy 3 at a time. So, I contacted them on Facebook to compare the menu at Nem Noung & Rolls in Los Angeles. "Hey, look at this. As a customer, it's better to tell us up front on your true price." I told them I'm not coming back until the menu is fixed. So here I am, just few days before the end of year 2020. I found an ad in Yelp app that they deliver. Thank goodness, the menu is updated to make sense. Not just that, they allow mixed order. Back then, I asked my Vietnamese friends on how to eat them. Right, take off the wrapper like the a piece of reminder says. Order was not quick because they're made to order. I love freshly made rolls. I order the whole tray by phone but my order was messed up. The lady in the counter only know how to say yes,yes and yes. I don't know the menu, my friend told me to order the crunchy inside spring rolls which she forgot the name of the spring rolls. AMAZING! A whole shop dedicated to quality spring rolls! They have a sign on the outside with all of their options and we decided to go with the ones with no rice noodles. We ordered 3 orders (comes with 3 rolls each) of the 1. Nem Nuong Rolls (grilled pork, fried egg roll wrap and green lettuce) and 4. Summer Rolls (Chinese sausage, eggs, jicama and basil). NOTE: they are each individually wrapped with a plastic wrap so don't forget to remove it prior to eating! I honestly cannot choose between the two! Both of them had a great balance between the meat and what they paired it with. The Nem Nuong was crunchy and the sauce was so complimenting! We ended up using the sauce for the Summer Rolls as well, which originally came with a peanut butter Hoisin sauce. I was excited to see a restaurant sell on the go rolls and have always wanted to try this place. They have solid rolls. I ordered the nem nuong, chao tom, and bo bia rolls and my least favorite was the bo bia because it had too much jicama. We came to this place based on the recommendations. The place looks clean and the decor is basic, sitting for only 6 people. A majority of clients must take food 'To go'. I wanted to try something new, and I had this spot bookmarked for awhile. They specialize in Nem nuong rolls, which I can only describe as an inside out egg roll combined with a spring roll. I enjoyed all the flavor and texture contrasts inside this roll, which included their marinated pork sausage, crispy egg roll wrapper stick, and veggies. These rolls also came with a thick souplike sauce and sambal, which made these rolls more fun to eat. The only thing I would ask if they could wrap each roll with more plastic wrap so I can eat it more easily in the car. I literally didn't know sometimes if I was eating the rice paper roll or plastic wrap, because the plastic wrap was so minimal. Good nem nuong rolls! I enjoyed them with the extra crunch of the fried egg roll skin inside. Can eat with or without the sauce. I ate some the next day and because each were individually wrapped, the wrapper was not dried out or sticking to each other. My first time here was great! This store is likely for to-go orders so they don't have waitress; however, they do have tables for you to sit and eat there. You will have to pay before you get the food. Also, it's quite inconvenient because your order needs to be over $10 to pay by card. So BRING CASH when you come here. If you're curious how these compare to Bodard Bistro, I would say both places are delicious, but Bodard Bistro wins out slightly. The sauce here is a little thicker and not as savory as the Bodard Bistro one. The fried crunchy piece of egg roll skin is wound a little more tightly when fried, so the crunchy piece is a little smaller and fries up a little harder so that you only get a lesser "crunch" when you bite in. I will say the quality of the lettuce is better than the one used at Bodard. I think Bodard uses a shredded iceberg vs the romaine used here, which I think is better suited to the roll. However, this roll I feel has too much lettuce, and I feel it would be better with less I will still come back here because it's a great format for a quick snack. I like that this place serves different types of nem nuong. My husband thinks the ones at bodard taste better but i think the ones here are pretty decent. The first time I ordered I accidentally ate the plastic wrap and didn't notice till I was halfway through. So please make sure to take off the plastic wrap off each individual roll! I ordered 3 rolls of their nem nuong, and received my order promptly. The rolls were individually wrapped in plastic wrap, and then all three rolls we're plastic wrapped together with the tray it was on. I found it interesting that they had a sign in the store warning customers to remove the plastic wrap from the rolls before consuming, but with that much plastic wrap on the rolls, it's no wonder. The rolls we're good, and were a good combination of soft and crunchy. However, they don't have a lot of flavor on their own, so I would recommend using the dipping sauce that comes with it. read more

One of the best nem nuong in Houston, beside Bodard Bistro. They sell it for $1.69 per roll, you have to buy at least 3 rolls though. If you buy more than 20 rolls, it will $1.50 each, which is a really good price. The rolls overall were good in quality and quantity ( much better than pho Ngon and Thuan Kieu). However, i'm not a fan of the strong smell from dried shrimp in the sauce. It would be better if more pickles were added to balance out the sweetness & saltiness. Unfortunately, they were very skimpy on pickles. The rolls were composed of fresh green lettuce, pickles, cucumber, crispy fried roll and pork sausage. I couldn't picked between Bodard or this place since i prefer Bodard's sauce but Bodard gives low quality veggies in the roll. PS. Cash only for the first grand opening week! read more

Walked in for nem nuong rolls and these were the best I've had! Service was quick and to the point; I didn't have to wait long for my rolls. The nem nuong was grilled well and very savory. It paired well with the sweet dipping sauce that came with the rolls. The best part was probably the crunchy fried springroll skin inside each roll. 3 rolls costed about $6 and they were very filling. I could only eat 2 before getting full.
