Normally I don't post reviews on establishments but feel the need to do so with this place after recent issues. 1. Food is hit or miss 2. They ALWAYS mess up orders 3. Minimum orders for delivery is now $16 4. Prices have gone up and the food quality has gone down. If you're looking for some place local for takeout, this is that type of place. I love, love, love their Nime Chow rolls....very fresh and so delicious. Their lettuce wraps are very nice too. The go to take out Chinese place in town. A good place to stop in if you're on the go and need to pick up supper for the family. It will not cost you an arm and a leg. The only place I know that you can substitute an egg roll for a side order of chow mein. I haven't had good experience with their delivery service so I don't recommend unless you don't mind missing a few items you ordered. My personal faves are the chicken and broccoli combo and the General Tsaos combo. They make some tasty spareribs and fluffy chicken fingers as well. There are about three small tables you can dine in at but for the most part this is your standard Chinese takeout place. Parking can be tight if it's a busy night. I usually pickup and order on location. I decided to call instead. Mostly because I had just gotten their menu in the mail for their Grand Opening. Even though its been open at least 6 months. They told me I had called the wrong place as they had no order. So I showed them the menu. They said it didn't matter because they didn't have it. We were so excited to find a chinese restaurant that delivered! We ordered shredded beef and burbon chicken combination plates and vegetable lo mein. The food came really fast and we live 6 miles away. That's the only good thing I can say about it. The beef was pale gray and the sauce was light colored and gross. Not much beef in the dish either. The egg roll was even yucky. The chicken was just ok. The lo mein wasn't bad, but the container was really small and it was mostly broccoli. So disappointed!!! read more

I don't recommend eating food from the establishment at all. I ordered a large beef strained chow mein, and a large chicken chow mein. When I got home and opened the container of the beef chow mein gravy it had a fishy odor to it. I bit into the "beef" and it tasted odd and like gelatin meat. The next day I felt awful after eating this. I ended up speaking to a neighbor about this Chinese take out restaurant and she had told me that they stopped ordering from them because the ONLY time they did order food from there, her, her husband, and son were very sick the next day and called and complained. I will never eat here again. The place is staffed by teenagers, it reeks of weed in the restaurant and I witnessed the delivery driver smoking pot in his car in the parking lot. The girl behind the counter was INCREDIBLY rude. We were greeted with "what" when we walked up to the counter to pick up our food. The order was missing items, so we called and asked them to bring the missing item to our house. They made a big deal of it because they wanted to charge us a $2 delivery fee to drive 1 mile to our house to drop off food THEY FORGOT TO GIVE US! I ended up driving back to pick it up, and while I was there I watched them recycle an order that noone had picked up, dumping the rice back into the cooker and putting the other items that had already been packaged into the fridge. The food itself was terrible. The chicken fingers were under cooked, the pork in the fried rice was super dry and tasted like it had been in the fridge too long. The duck sauce didn't even taste like duck sauce, it tasted like pineapple. We threw it all out. I would rather go hungry than eat this garbage ever again. read more

Best of Somerset! The best we have ever found in Massachusetts! Without exception, delivery was under 30 minutes several times under 20 minutes. If you live or work in Somerset and want Chinese food please go to China Lake. It is owned by the Kwan family and it is a Somerset institution. Neo China used to be the unappetizing No. 1 Buffet. The only that changed is the sign. The food is totally subpar except for the boiled white rice. The only other thing that didn't taste weird was the mango chicken. They weren't the nicest people at the counter either and the fortune cookies were stale. read more

With that said, it seems like you never really know what you are going to get here. I go here often to order appetizers. The service is friendly and very quick. The scallion pancakes, nime chow, and gyoza are really good. The vegetable fried rice is OK--somewhat bland. There is a lot of vegetables in the fried rice, but I had better before. My favorite vegetarian dish is the vegetable mei fun. read more

Tried it twice, terrible attitude by the people that work there. They had previously run the buffet I believe. They had been in trouble a few times before with the previous business. As I tried resolving an issue over the phone with the owner's daughter(she had give me this info), she told me I'd never find out her name when I asked who I was speaking with. I asked for a total refund of my meal after waiting hours for the rest of my order they said they would send and never did. When I asked to speak with the owners she hung up. I've been there a couple of times, its about 6 miles away from my house and for the most part, the food is pretty good. I will say their delivery process is crappy. I ordered food once from there and it took close to an hour for the driver to find my house..the driver thought i lived in somerset when i made it perfectly clear that i dont, when i called more then 4 times requesting for my food. other then that, its a great restaurant read more

My family orders take out from this restaurant twice a month. They have both classic Chinese dishes and some Thai dishes as well. Ironically the Chinese food is very bland but the Thai is pretty good. Nim Chow and mango chicken are really good. Stay away from the coconut shrimp though...Tempura battered Shrimp with some kind of goopy nasty coconut sauce drizzled on top yuck. General Chicken and Lo Mein are what you'd expect if just a bit bland. Overall they dont set the world on fire but you can get a decent food at a good price that wont get you sick...mostly. read more

Quite possibly the worst Chinese takeout I've ever had. I tried this place a few months back and it was not the greatest but I figured I'd give it another shot today. The crab Rangoon were old and stale, the chowmein sauce tasted burnt, and the chicken wings were undercooked and dripping grease. Just gross! read more

dont go here.... the customer service and customer loyalty is the worst we have ever seen... the food is salty and sometimes raw... we got food here and was sick for three days throwing up with the runs because of the sauce. many times the chunks of chicken in their dishes taste like it is stale and nasty. the front desk is staffed with teenagers and personnel who dont speak any english. not to mention they are rude. we know many people who even though they live local will go down the street to china lake or even to china star which has excellent food at a lower cost. we gave them one star because there was no score lower we could choose. all of us will never eat here again. read more
