I looked into this service because once you buy it, it's done. You just have to pick out services from their menu. However, it took me 6 weeks working with a salesperson to get it right, contract 1 had so many mistakes. Had to cancel. Apparently cancelling is a huge deal so corporate had to get involved. second contract I had to look at every word to get it right. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Go somewhere else where you can sit down and talk it out what you want. I don't want to choose a star because they do NOT deserve 1!!! I am disgusted with The Neptune Society in San Pedro... I have been chasing Daisy down to help her plan my grandfather's funeral.. It has been an absolute nightmare. My poor grandfather thought this was the best choice for him and his family.. Daisy is a nightmare and nearly impossible to get a hold of.. Mt grandfather served in the World Wars and can't even plan a military send off because she won't return our calls and the funeral is in 1 week... I will be taking legal action, here on out but if you love ur loved one or of u are making decisions that u think will make it easy on yr family, think elsewhere.. my heart just keeps breaking... read more

I could not recommend this company if you're looking for compassion or customer service. I'm not the only one I see that has been given excuses which I deplore. My father's remains were not ready when I came to pick them up like the person on the phone said. I was given deplorable excuses that they were understaffed, people out sick. Not a grieving daughter's problem it's yours. His remains I was told would be mailed. It took two weeks to get to me and nobody even called to let me know they were mailed. We suspect they lost or misplaced the remains and may not even be his remains. Don't bother with the sappy condolences either it won't help the grieving family members that are truly distraught over this! There is nothing you could say to make it better. You could give the family a refund for the time wasted and terrible service if you truly mean it though. This review is looking pretty epic! Nice! read more

I had the same experience as the last reviewer with this company. When my father passed away the only communication has essentially been with the receptionist to obtain information. She's been very helpful and kind but I would be totally in the dark about when cremation took place, where were the ashes, when will they be shipped and when will I receive the death certificates if I waited to hear from the funeral director. It seems the so-called funeral director was always tied up on the phone or with a family. The reason I was told was because of the overwhelming number of decedents due to the pandemic. I could not recommend this company if you're looking for compassion or customer service. read more

My parents purchased their Neptune Cremation Plan back in 2005 and our representative was outstanding!! HOWEVER, I am having to re-engage with their services now (in a different area) and it has left a lot to be desired. The Funeral Director has been non-communicative except when it came time to collect the fees for the cremation permit and death certificates. More specifically, we requested to be contacted upon the cremation of our loved one, which they DID NOT DO. I had to find out afterwards by calling them, which was very upsetting. So disrespectful. I understand we are in the middle of a Pandemic and there are still many waiting to be addressed...my heart goes out to you as we had to wait quite a while....death certificates finally arrived today and our family member passed over 2-months ago. My reason for writing this review is for two reasons, (1) If you are considering purchasing a Cremation Plan, please read all reviews prior to selecting a service provider and if you do go with Neptune I hope that your loved one does not die it Tucson, AZ. (2) If you are currently engaged with Neptune, and are faced with cremation of a loved one, stay on top of the Funeral Director...call every day if you have to....and BE SURE to check and double-check their "Death Registration Worksheet" for accuracy before they submit it to the Department of Vital Records. (I guess it goes to show you that just because you have been in the business for a long time it doesn't mean you're any good at your job.) read more

My sister passed away recently at the VA. I had been told by the social worker there that I would receive help from them with her arrangements when the time came. All I received was a list of funeral homes from the nurse before I left the hospital when my sister passed. I called several numbers and after being put on hold numerous times, I was finally able to get a few prices from places who were either too busy or didn't have anyone there to speak with me personally. I was becoming very frustrated until I spoke with Lisa at the Neptune Society here in Tucson. Everyone there was helpful and caring. Lisa went over and above to help me through all the paperwork that I needed to do for closing out my sister's estate. She really helped me through this process and put my mind at ease. Years ago I met one of the sales representatives at a Chamber of Commerce event, he was very nice and full of information. I set up an appointment... then purchased a package for my Mother whom at that time was in assisted care. A number of years later after her package was paid for she passed. I made one call and the rest was taken care of with grace and sympathy. It was very hard on me after my Mother passed, but I was so happy with the Tucson Neptune Societys office and the way they handled my Mothers cremation that I purchased my own package, so when I pass my children will just make one call and the rest will be taken care of. Watching my 91-year-old mother die was traumatic enough for me. It sure did help that she had pre-planned all of this with the Neptune Society of Tucson. The hospice nurse made the call and everything was handled beautifully and with great respect. My questions were answered immediately when I called Lisa and she always had a kind word to offer. The ashes were sent to where they needed to be and she kept me informed every step of the way. I highly recommend the Neptune Society Tucson office as well as Lisa who is one of the directors. read more

I received a marketing letter from this company regarding cremation pre-arrangements. The letter was addressed to my father at my address in Tucson, AZ. First, my father has never been associated with this address. Second, my wife and I purchased the residence one year ago. Third, my father passed away 5 years ago! He passed away four years prior to the purchase of this residence. He also lived in Florida and has never lived in Arizona. How insensitive of a company to send a cremation arrangement marketing letter to (1) a deceased individual and (2) to their family! When I called them to inform them of their screw up, all they asked was the name it was addressed to and the address. They offered no apology!!!! read more

My experience was positive. My only preference would have been to be contacted more quickly after his death to cover details of next steps. The office receptionist could be more informative and express more empathy. over the phone. However, the process as a whole worked smoothly. My father passed away in a hospice. The hospice contacted Neptune and his body removed about an hour later. Neptune contacted Social Security about his death, obtained all signatures needed for the death certificate, and handled the cremation arrangements. His ashes are now in transit to me as I do not live in Tucson. This all saved me time and the stress of making arrangements for something I know nothing about during a painful time. read more

The absolute worst experience I have had in my entire life. My father passed away and we telephoned the Neptune society, as we had previously arranged, to pick him for mortuary services. Somehow the "message was lost" and the "ball was dropped." Nobody arrived, we have been transferred from person to person all of which do not know a ***D**N thing about anything. Finally, we get a call from "Ron" that confesses to the ball being dropped but still cannot tell me when someone will be available to help us. Talk about making a stressful situation far far worse. If you care about the emotional sanity of your family, use someone else! read more
