Unfortunately my mother was transported to Adair on a Saturday, and I called Adair on a Sunday, and was told that the staff that handled initial arrangements does not work over the weekend and that I would be contacted on Monday. I was not contacted, until I called AGAIN on Tuesday and a person named Ty said she would forward forms that required my review & signature, however- the form she sent was mostly unpopulated. Does Adair expect everyone to blindly sign forms that are mostly blank? Being that I am unfamiliar with the terminology on the death registration form, I replied to Ty's email to ask for clarification regarding the mostly blank form. And over 14 hours had passed and I received no response & again I had to be the one to call. This is the staff at Adair's sole purpose & job; I am unfamiliar with terminology used on the form, thinking I had to populate it in its entirety, then come to find out Ty should have populated the form better than she did; which only caused confusion and setback. It's now Thursday and the form was supposed to sent right back to me better populated to help move forward, and still, nothing further is being communicated to me. Adair is dragging this process out, and it's making it all even more difficult. This is their job and they are absolutely failing. Adair is supposed to help in time of need, and I have been chasing them for help every day for the past 4 days! I am already upset, and now Ty is adding to my grief with additional frustration by not following through with her job. I nor anyone can or should be expected to review and sign a mostly blank form. It's ridiculous! How awful is Adair, when I am considering moving my mm to a different mortuary, this place is truly absolutely terrible; lazy and inconsiderate. Not to mention, their Urn catalog is wildly overpriced. How gross are they? Up charging is disrespectful and disgusting! Adair's customer service is overwhelming negligent; I have zero confidence that they are handling my mom and I properly. I do not recommend Adair. read more

From the very beginning, the folks at Adair were kind, respectful & personable. Unlike the other places I called, first thing they said was "Sorry for your loss". They helped us all the way through... Did a WONDERFUL JOB on my beautiful 24 year old son.... And showed us love and respect on the 'funeral day'. I don't recommend this place especially for out of state families. It cost way to much for just cremation. The funeral director was very unprofessional he had no kind of compassion for us. First a huge thank you! From when we called about pet services and dropping off our Buddah boy to picking up his cremated remains everyone was so kind. I can't remember names, but the gentleman who we left Boo with was very respectful and had a fabulous calm energy about him. I instantly felt relieved knowing my Boo was going to be taken care of. When we went to pick up the remains the young lady was so sweet! We were even able to joke about the date and our trouble remembering the year. My husband passed away 17 days ago and instead of Adair Funeral homes making the most difficult time in my life easier they added to the stress of the situation. -I specifically requested that they not touch my husband's facial hair but they gave him a clean shave before I got to see him. - I emailed information and filled out the same form at least twice and the planner still put the wrong information initially on his working death certificate. She also had to be asked multiple times to correct the date of his death in the obituary. -My husband is a veteran and I had to contact the National Cemetery to make arrangements for his ashes to be buried. -The planner told me my husband would be cremated the day after I got to see him but he wasn't actually cremated until the following week. -I requested an engraving on his urn but they also failed to have that done. I would not recommend entrusting your loved ones final arrangements to this funeral home. read more

Mr Adair personally drilled holes and epoxyed Air Force wings to his urn as my brother as desired. I felt the options were varied and pricing was very reasonable. This place treated our family and our loved one horribly! The cremation was supposed to take place in 7 to 10 days. It took them 20 days to get our loved one back. They claimed to be short staffed, but then laid off people. I wouldn't take a road kill snake to them! Do not go to Adair if you are seeking competent, compassionate help with funeral services. My mother chose Adair to handle her remains because they were a part of the Funeral Consumers Alliance, which provides discounts to members. When I went to make arrangements, they told me that Adair is no longer a part of the FCA because they recently changed from a family-owned business to a corporate one. Because it was going to cost $300 to move her to another home, however, I decided to deal with them. Adair completely mishandled my mother's cremation. My siblings and I provided the required authorizations for the cremation, and I was told they had what they needed. A week later, I received a phone call saying that they did not have our IDs (which we had sent) and we needed to resend them. We did so, and the next day Adair told me that my mother had already been cremated 5 days earlier. So apparently they do not talk to each other there, and it's unclear whether they had the required documentation for the cremation. Other than meek "I'm sorrys" , Adair has not attempted to reach out to me or to offer any kind of compassion or resolution for creating additional distress in the days after my mother's death. read more

I was a little disappointed when I was told that my son was cremated with all his clothes on even though he was delivered to the funeral home with clothes removed from the coroner but sent with the body. That didnt make sense to me, so on my 2nd call, I was told that his clothes had been thrown away because of the condition of the clothes. I believe that should be the families decision, regardless of the condition. He had a belt that I am sure was salvageable. Not important to Adair but was important to me. read more

My nephew died tragically at 19. The funeral home had to retrieve the body from the medical examiner and allow for an independent autopsy. They did so with compassion and respect holding our hand through the entire process. When it looked like a cremation would take months, they managed to accommodate a service already scheduled in just a week. I hope no one has to face a death of a loved one but if you do, I know there is no better place to give them the respect and dignity they deserve. My stepfather passed away Nov 8th 2018. Valerie was our counselor through this process. She is the most compassionate person I think I have ever met. She made our visit for my mother who was recovering from a major surgery, actually for all of us the most comforting experience on a very sad time. Everything about this company was unprofessional and wrong. Following a late term miscarriage my family reached out to this funeral home that would only refer to the baby as "the fetus" would not address her by name or otherwise. They were not in any way communicative or accommodating. My niece had been in the care of the funeral home for approximately a week before I had to reach out to them for any sort of confirmation or plan. Following that, a week later I had to follow up after not hearing anything from the company only to find out that the person in charge of our case had been fired and our case was not handed off to anyone else. It took 3 weeks and almost daily phone calls to finally get ahold of a manager to pick up the remains. Upon pick up we were offered no condolences or otherwise apologies for the issues along the way. My father recently passed away, and we had the misfortune to chose Adair. From the initial visit to Adair's processing the final paperwork to get my father's death registered with Social Security, Adair staff have demonstrated a lack of training, professionalism and follow through. During our initial visit, Lorenia took over 2 hours to go through the paperwork, leaving my grieving mother even more spent and upset. She lacked the basic courtesy to offer her condolences at the start of our meeting, as one indicator of how staff are trained, or rather, not trained. We used their services 20 years ago when we were faced with the unexpected murder of my brother. They held our hand during the entire process asking us the questions we didn't even know we needed to consider. I met with Don Byrd to discuss our cremation. It was an easy process. Minimal paperwork. A few hours later I had digital copies of the arrangement I can forward to the trustees of our estate. Don can meet you at any Adair location or in your home. Adair family homes is owned by such an amazing family! When I lost my mother in September I reached out to Taylor at the dodge location and he was phenomenal. He had compassion and empathy and made everything so much easier. To the point when I lost my nephew unexpectedly last month he was the first person I was looking for. We had the service at the Avalon location and it was beautiful. Both Taylor and his staff have been more than accommodating and empathetic to my family and I will forever appreciate them for it. I hope that no one needs to use his services unexpectedly but in the event you do, there could not be a family or locations more willing to make this as easy and painless as possible for you. Im disappointed that I will not be able to experience the loving care and compassion other family members have had with this business. I contacted the director on Jan 29 regarding transference of pre paid arrangements. His response to review paperwork was quick, in a follow up phone call to him from me a few days later, he assured me he was looking into the paperwork and assured me he would be back in touch with me by the end of the day. Taylor did my Moms homegoing service back in September of last year and did such an amazing, considerate, beautiful and genuine job I couldn't think of using anyone else when I lost my nephew last month. I have used both the dodge and Avalon location and at the end of the day these people care. They are professional and always make themselves available to help. I hope that none of you need to use their services unexpectedly but in the event you do, I highly recommend Adair and either location would accommodate you, it's just a matter of the size you need. This is the second time I have used Adair, both times with Funeral Director Lisa... a very experienced and competent individual who also has a warm heart. Prices were very reasonable... she handled everything, including helping arrange for interment of my parents in a National Cemetery for Vets and their spouses. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Never ever would you think that people in this field of business would be so un compassionate as the people here. We had my dad funeral services here everything was fine until after the services. We decided to have him cremated. The real issue came with getting his remains processed and the level of customer service that they failed to provide us. My aunt had been calling and calling to inquire about his remains and the women helping her always seemed to be unavailable and never returned her calls. We where told my fathers remains still weren't ready. My aunt continued to call this women still with no response from her. My aunt finally called to speak with the book keeper and she asked if the women was available finally she answered the phone. We then learned my fathers remains had been ready since the 26th and here it is the 3rd of the following month yet no one bothered to notify us. So the next day her and my brother go to pick up the Remains and the go a few minutes before they close. My brother calls to ask if they could stay open a minute or two extra so they can pick up the remains as soon as he says that they hung up so he called back and they tell him no sorry we are closed yet they don't close for another five minutes. He tells her that my fathers remains had been ready and no one notified us and that no one had been returning the calls so under those circumstances if they could make an exception for them she puts him on hold comes back on the phone and says that he called the call center and that she called the mortuary and no one answered because they are closed and they said he would have to come back tomorrow. First of all no it's not a call center it's the number to the mortuary and second if you called and no one answered how did they tell you to tell him to come back tomorrow. When they are walking up to the door the receptionist runs up to the door and locks it and walks away. So my brother and aunt stand in the parking lot waiting for someone to come out. A man comes out from the back and sees them and ask them if they need help so they tell him what happens and he says yes of course you can he takes them inside and they wait in the lobby. The receptionist comes out see them turns around stomps her feet and walks away. I think it's so unprofessional. If you are are in the business of death you should know how sensitive that subject is and just because someone has passed doesn't mean that they aren't important. You guys are dealing with someone's loved one for god sake. I normally don't leave bad reviews but this is so upsetting that I needed to share our experience because I don't want anyone to ever have an exuberance like this. They need to hire a better staff with emotion and compassion that will value their customers. read more

My mother in law passed away and Adair was on the list given to us at the ER. Sara was assigned to the family. I will say she was polite, professional and efficient-HOWEVER... Cold as stone. Not once during any meetings or conversations with a grief stricken family did she offer condolences or compassion on any level. I realize this is a business for Adair, but loved ones should not feel like processing the death of a family member is a biz transaction-very insensitive.
