We have unfortunately had the need to use Angel Valley's services three times over the last 12 years--first for our son (2014), then my mother in law (2016) and most recently for my mother (April of 2026). In every single case--a funeral and two cremations--they were nothing but kind and professional, and most importantly NEVER made us feel pressured or tried to upsell us. The first time we used their services I went in on the defense, expecting the industry-standard SCI attempts to fleece the grieving and vulnerable. They completely surprised us by not even attempting to upsell caskets, urns, etc. and providing us with exactly what we asked for and allowing additional visitation. The funeral service was perfectly executed and The communication in all three cases was excellent. Delivery of my mother's ashes and death certificate was slow--but I was kept informed every step of the way. The transport company they use also deserves tremendous credit. I wish I could remember the driver's name, but he treated me with exceptional kindness and permitted me to assist. We have chosen to use them even though we live almost 90 miles southeast of Tucson because of how they've treated us in every case. There are several funeral homes closer to home, but the exceptional treatment we received as we dealt with the death of our son made us absolutely certain we wanted them taking care of us for my mother in law and my mother. While the way we were treated is everything, it would not be fair not to mention their pricing. They are exceptionally fair and entirely transparent in all costs. In every case what they showed us on their pricing sheets was exactly what we were charged, and there were no surprises. I would not hesitate to recommend Angel Valley for care of a loved one. read more

If my rating was based solely on the first meeting it would be 10 stars. They initially were friendly, kind, empathetic, everything you'd hope if you're having to deal with a funeral home. They didn't attempt to sell me a bunch of stuff, it was a very good experience and an excellent value for the money. But it ended after that. A series of events (that I prefer not to detail) happened that made me lose confidence in them. Up to and including the day I picked up my fathers remains. Extremely unprofessional and uncaring. I have not reached out to give them feedback as I've been grieving the loss of my father so unexpectedly. But I will do so in hopes that they can revisit some of their procedures. read more

With the exception of Annelise, I was extremely dissatisfied with the service that I received from Angel Valley, funeral home. My husband had prearrangements for his cremation before he passed away. They picked him up from the hospice, but when I called the next day, they said there was absolutely no paperwork on him and there were no pre-arrangements. They told me they'd give me an appointment in three days if I wanted. I was getting ready to have my husband moved to a different funeral home, when they found the paperwork that we had done online and prepaid for. They should've been aware of the contracts that are made online. I asked to speak to a licensed funeral Director, but I was never able to. I also did not appreciate that. Elise kept calling me, "hon." That is so unprofessional. My beloved husband was under their care, I felt like I was in a diner. In the most awful event of my life, I felt I should've been treated with respect. I also thought their facility was very uncomfortable for someone that was facing having to make arrangements for the love of their life. Elise also told me it was against the law to put my husband's cremains in a cardboard box. I do not believe this is true. I am checking with the Board funeral Directors to verify this. Many other of my friends who had to go through this were given the cremains of their loved one in a cardboard box so they can use their own container and there was no extra charge. I would not recommend Angel Valley funeral home to anyone read more

Angel Valley had one job: transport a Jewish departed to a mortuary in California. This is supposed to be done rapidly and efficiently, as Jewish funerals must take place in 24-48 hours. They received the body over the weekend, got the information they needed on Monday and as of midday Tuesday they are still not doing their job. No one should use them for any kind of Jewish funeral, and I suspect not for any sort of funeral at all. The manager we dealt with is Don Clery. Not at all helpful. read more

My Mom was recently in hospice, and we were encouraged to determine what funeral services would handle her pick-up/cremation once she passed. I landed on Angel Valley for two reasons. It was recommended by the hospice team and I liked the name... it was comforting. The gentleman I spoke with initially prior to my Mom passing was wonderful. He took some information so that they would be ready when the time came. It was a matter of days and the retirement community called them, they were there quite quickly and the woman and man that came to pick up my Mom were wonderful as well. Super professional, empathetic and discrete in taking my Mom away during an incredibly sad and devastating moment for my family. My husband took my Dad to Angel Valley later in the day to take care of paperwork, without a hitch. They informed us she would be cremated on Friday of that same week; she was being shipped to New York where she was being buried. Here is where our experience went from 5 to 4 to 3 stars and this was so avoidable. By Monday the following week I thought it was odd that they had not called or confirmed back with my family that my Mom had been cremated on the targeted Friday so I called them. After being on hold for a few minutes, the woman answering the phone indicated my Mom had yet to be cremated and would be cremated the upcoming Wednesday. I was taken aback that they would not at minimum give us a courtesy call regarding a delay. Then Wednesday came and went... no phone call. So I called them again that following Friday to see what was going on. After a 5 minute hold, the woman indicated that my Mom's remains were being shipped off that day. While every employee I came into contact with was incredibly kind and supportive, I found the lack of communication -- during a stressful time -- with regard to my Mom's services and remains to be lacking. Had that been different, and had I not had to call on 2 separate occasions to find out what was going on, this review would have been different. Unlike Angel Valley, the receiving cemetery has been very proactive in touching base every few days, including calling me when my Mom was received. read more

I live outside of AZ and was trying to make advance arrangements for my father in Tucson, AZ. I thought I was reaching out to Desert Sunset but a representative with Angel Valley Funeral Home eventually reached out to me. I tried for weeks then months to get a timely response to my questions, need for information, and a request for a meeting in advance of my recent trip. I never received response to my emails or phone calls. I left a voice message and another email with a request for them to shred anything that pertained to my father and any paperwork they may have printed. I finally received a brief email from them. I finally made arrangements with Vistoso Funeral Home. They always answer their phones and had staff to meet with me personally. I am really happy with Vistoso Funeral Home and feel confident with the decisions they helped me arrange for my dad. read more

My mother's health is declining quickly and I have been trying to get some information on transferring prepaid arrangements from another state. I have spoken with staff who referred me to another staff member and left messages for that staff member to call me back. I am STILL waiting (almost 2 weeks). Based on this lack of professionalism, Im not convinced that the staff will be any more attentive or helpful in our family's time of need. read more

We had to deal with unexpected death and it was probably the first time that my wife and I had to take the reins for the entire process. Things seem very confusing and unsure until we called Angel funeral home. The staff there was incredibly understanding compassionate and very easy to work with. I just wanted to write a review for Angel Valley funeral home. Mike at Angel Valley home funeral was a truly amazing person to work with. He was so helpful after the passing of my mother. Her death was very unexpected and we were scrambling to try and get arrangements made. We were facing difficulties from the hospital and other administrative facilities just to get the process underway. However, Mike was so accommodating was helpful in trying to get everything taken care of. He even came in on Christmas day to allow us to have everything arranged for the funeral which happened the following day. I would recommend angel Valley funeral home service to anyone without any reservation whatsoever. My step mom recently passed away in a home in Tucson. I came by Angle Valley because hospice had referred them. I went with them because their name was comforting and the price was reasonable. That was the only thing reasonable. When it came to processing paper work it became impossible. Since she was my stepmother, Ms. Elise Tena went out of her way to request documentation that was unreasonable and unnecessary. She did not even bother to call me. Only sent unprofessional emails that made things worse. I had my stepmom moved to a different funeral home. My heart was broken and at a time when compassion and understanding is so important, Ms. Elise Tena had none. read more

The folks at Angel Valley are incredible. They know you are going through an amazingly hard and stressful time and do everything they can to help. They have a set price on basic services and were very knowledgable about the paperwork involved and how to deal with the hospital. After calling around I found that they were %30-%50 more affordable than everywhere else in Tucson. Also, the other places I called started calling me back after an hour or so trying to get my business and saying they could adjust the price if needed. They day after my father passed the other places were acting like used car salesmen! Mike even came in the morning of July 4th to deliver my fathers remains since I had to leave town that night. I'm in Tempe and when my dad passed away in Tucson I had to take care of everything through email, phone and fax. They made the process of my dads cremation simple and I felt I received great customer service and value. We (Norma G. & I) recently lost our elderly Step-Mother who died in a Tucson assisted living care home. The funeral was pre-arranged to take place in Missouri. The whole process got stuck (paperwork!). Michael helped expedite the Death Certificate process and kept us well informed. She was embalmed at Angel Valley (nice job!) and prepped for shipping to Missouri. They could not release her body to the shipping company without a permit and that could not happen until the Death Certificate was signed. Michael made several calls to expedite getting the necessary signature. Because of his efficiency & thoughtfulness, we were able to schedule the funeral at a time that worked for most of the family, and we were able to make our own travel arrangements. My thanks go out to the staff of Angel Valley! My mother recently passed away and I was in charge of the arrangements so I asked around and all my friends said Angel Valley was the place to go. They were right. I dealt with Patricia, who is an awesome director. She's the perfect blend of compassionate and efficient and made sure that all of my needs/wants were taken care of. It was a holiday weekend,but even so, everything was taken care of in a timely manner and she kept me informed through the entire process. It wasn't the high pressure "guilt you into spending more money" kind of thing that a lot of funeral homes are famous for. This business was very cold and uncaring toward me, because I was the ex-wife of the deceased--a man I had been married to for 30 years and lived with for 40. I was his sole caretaker during the last 7 years he suffered from Alzheimer's. I needed information about getting a death certificate to obtain Social Security benefits, and it took me two months and many phone calls, most of which were unreturned. Though recommended by the hospice service we used, we were sorely disappointed here. They were sloppy in filling out the necessary forms and extremely slow to correct their mistakes resulting in a critical delay in receiving a death certificate back from the County. In fact we had to do that ourselves after a few weeks' delay and were told, at the County offices, that they've had problems with this Funeral Home's errors before. read more
