Absolutely terrible. Roof was left in terrible condition and they gas lit me for months and had me send a report over with energy details and never followed up - my panels dramatically under deliver power to even cover 50% of energy needs each month. They knocked the foam insulation off a now exposed pipe on the wall and just didn't care when I called and asked them to fix's it as it's way too high for my comfort level and I don't have a ladder nor should I be responsible for this. Just like the other reviews, going with Nerd Power has been a big mistake. The installation took for ever with little to no communication. Now I am having an issue with the inverter not working and going on three weeks since I called for support and I still have not even had a tech out to diagnose the issue. This delay in service and lack of communication is costing me HUNDREDS of dollars when my equipment should be working the hardest. We noticed our solar panels and system stopped producing electricity about a month ago. We started calling right away. They said they would take care of it and come out to replace a part. They got the part and called twice to schedule, but they canceled both appointments and said they would reschedule. Since then, they haven't answered their phone or returned our calls. This issue has now dragged on for two months. We've already paid off the system, and we're not receiving any of the benefits we were promised. They do not answer their phone calls during business hours, and they don't call you back until they feel like it. Their customer service is severely lacking, especially on the personal side. They are not at all as they portray themselves, this company is lacking all integrity! once they receive funds from lender you are obsolete and they WILL NOT monitor, repair, or acknowledge your existence or the problems with the trash they install. It needs a new roof so I have been trying to get this done and I never get an update. It has supposedly been escalated but nothing! It has now been more than a month since I realized that NERD Power destroyed my roof, I had notified them to get it fixed and I am still waiting for results. There has been zero proactive follow up by the destroyers, as the only time I've heard a response back, has been the result of an inquiry. Of those responses, it has been very non-committal statements that they haven't gotten the roofer's proposal back yet, they are still waiting on the roofer to get back to them, the roofer needs to order materials, we should hear something next week, etc. not once was I ever reached out to, for them to let me know that they've truly done anything towards fixing my roof. I am finally at my wits end and have given them the ultimatum to get it fixed within the next week or I would source my own solar installers to remove the panels, a roofer to replace the broken tiles and then the installers to correct all of the shortcomings of the original install. This work would be billed against their contractors bond, and I hope not to need to go that route. I am embarrassed for them that it's gotten to this point, but I have no choice. Update 5/28/21 They scheduled my roof repairs to happen yesterday and today. I took the 2 days off of work to be present while they were here, so I'd be available in case they had any questions, I could personally inspect the roof before the roofer left and before the panels were reinstalled. Over 70 tiles that were broken, were replaced yesterday. There are still another 30 tiles that need replacing. In addition to the above, their roofer only brought 12 (Twelve) tiles to do this work. I had 30 spares left over from my roofing renovation and grabbed another 30 from a nieghbor who was redoing their roof and had extras. Because they didn't plan at all, they didn't have enough tiles to finish the roof. Day 2 of the work, I email NERD power to find out when their subs would be arriving. I was told that since they didn't have enough tiles (enough must mean more than the 12 they brought), that they would have to come back next week. I have no words. 100 broken tiles. I take 2 days off work, and I end up being the only one at my house wanting to get things fixed. Also in this process, they mislabeled my added electrical panel, to where that 2 of the breakers for my home were buried in the solar disconnect breakers. When they shut off my solar to fix my roof, they killed power to 2 parts of my house. Then they left and never came back. When I checked my breakers, all breakers were on. We recently have issues with solar. The water heater, dryer and other appliances are not getting enough power. We called them to come out and check what's going on with the solar. The solars are under warranty. We scheduled an appointment with them; they did not show up. Took another apointment. Canceled in the last minute; the reason was a technician's family emergency. Scheduled again; no show. It's been a month; and not getting anything fixed. This company should not be in business. read more

And I will add additional context as this was a first hand experience with the company and I have the Ring Doorbell footage as proof that they came to the door. Worth every penny of the incredibly fair price of the system. Brendan Ganch was our rep. and he was simply wonderful. Walked us through the whole thing, did everything he said he would, and was WILDLY helpful when we eventually sold the house and needed info for the new owners. First of all I never leave bad reviews and am a very understanding person. We are current customers and have been for 2 years. But I'm in tears about our solar situation with Nerdpower, we are feeling trapped and pretty devastated honestly. These are the issues we've had and, I hate to say, lies we've been told... 1. Currently have no production for a week now and have not heard back on getting repairs started. 2. Our unit has broken down during the ONLY 2 summers we've had the unit. Costing us hundreds of dollars. 3. It took 6 weeks to fix the first time, even though we were told they had a quick repair turnaround when we purchased. 4. Using solar edge transformers that have a 50/50 fail rate. 5. Were told by salesman, Cygell, that they had a locked in rate with SRP and we would not deal with rate increases.....NOT TRUE, talked to SRP and were practically laughed at. 6. Were told by Cygell that we would get a tax refund, she said "a check".....NOT TRUE, it's a tax credit (very different) 7. We're told by Cygell that they have stock in parts and fix repairs very quickly....NOT TRUE unless you consider 6 weeks quickly in August in this heat 8. Were told by Cygell that we would be refunded FOR ANY ISSUES causing underproduction by over 10% (or something close to that).....NOT TRUE, in fact if it's a manufacturer issue it's not included in this calculation 9. We have communicated our issues and have only talked to one customer service person, Rolando, who is very nice and understanding. No escalation, no concern, feels like nobody cares at all and now I owe $40k to this company and am trapped with these issues. read more

Solicitors knocked on my elderly fathers home. They told him that his home insurance would pay for repairs on his roof. They opened a claim with his home insurance on his behalf without his knowledge. They had him sign a contract on an iPad. The Ring app recorded all of their lies, including one representative jokingly asking the other, "How did I do?" They did not leave a business card. I contacted their customer service and they have not returned my call. When I contacted the home insurance, I was told that they had received similar claims. If I could give 0 stars I would. Like most solar companies they showed up at our door offering this wonderful deal on solar. We had been discussing solar for several months and have friends who love theirs (installed by other companies - we should have used one of them). Dallas was a great salesperson who looked at our monthly bills for the last 6 months and promised that we would see our monthly TEP bill drop to "around $30 - $35 a month max," plus the monthly cost of the system (around $140). Since we live in Tucson and our TEP bills can easily be $500/month in the summer we thought it would be a great investment and with the tax rebate we could have it paid off in no time if we just allocated the difference in the current (at that time) TEP bill and our new payment. He drew up plans, then the installers came out and confirmed them, they contacted TEP etc... etc... The installation went well enough, but it took several weeks for them to address a problem with how the system was performing given our house being built in the 1950's. They gave us some kind of wall plug in that was supposed to solve that (no idea if that ever did a single thing), and then we waited for inspections. Once the system was up and going our first bill arrived and it was around $30 dollars and we were SO pleased. THEN each month the bill would go up and up. We contacted Nerd Power who ran a test and told us that we should contact TEP to see if there was something on their end that wasn't working. We did so, and after several calls to them were told that the size of the system we bought wasn't even close to what we needed to offset our monthly usage. We contacted Nerd Power and told them this and they apologized and offered us the solution of buying $14,000 more in solar panels to get us to the right size. WE were, and 3 years later, STILL so angry about the entire thing. My wife made numerous calls to them and even had several calls with their CEO who basically told us that we could only solve it by purchasing more panels and refused to even discount them if we were to choose to do it. We asked them to come remove the panels and they refused as well. So for the last 3 years we pay approximately $375/month to TEP and $190/month to Nerd Power, for an approximate monthly savings of -$165. Our system doesn't even appear to be working properly at this time and I can't get ahold of anyone to come look at it because they just don't respond. I should have known that anyone knocking on our door to sell anything is just a big scam. At this point, we have had several other companies knocking on our door to talk about solar and when we tell them the story they also claim they can fix it! NOPE, NOPE, NOPE... respectfully, get off my lawn! Every chance I get I warn people about Nerd Power and I will do so until I run out of breath. We feel stupid for falling for this, but we will not allow anyone else that we know to ever even want to consider them in the future. I would have given Nerd Power 4 stars but the wrap-up of my install has left such a bad taste in my mouth, I am completely over them at this point. As per other reviews, their lack of responsiveness is a SERIOUS issue and a big factor in why I am dropping them down to two stars. I am based in Tucson while Nerd Power has its HQ in Phoenix- this caused most things to be scheduled far out because each step required that their team drive down 2 hours. If I had really understood how small their Tucson presence actually was, I likely would have never hired them. I also found I would need to check in from time to time because I wouldn't hear about what was happening with my install for weeks at points in the process. However, it all would be water under the bridge if my system hadn't been left off for nearly two weeks after the electric company connected the solar to their grid. The final connection was weeks delayed, so I was unfortunately out of town when it happened. However, Nerd Power was notified by my electric company that the system had been connected. I trusted them to get the system powered on in my absence, however, it wasn't until I returned TWO WEEKS LATER that I found the switch was still off and I hadn't even been placed on the schedule for a tech to come out. I ended up having to power the system on myself since a tech couldn't come out for another week. The cherry on top is that after the TENS OF THOUSANDS I spent on this system + install, I am now on the hook with TEP for my house having tapped into their power grid 24/7 for 2 weeks. Meaning I owe them almost an entire month's bill for just 2 weeks of use because the electric use fees increase when you switch to solar (No one told me this part- please do not just go off of what the salesman tell you, call you electric company and confirm everything!) When I raised this with Nerd Power, I really thought they'd at least take the time to respond and listen. Instead, I got told, "what do you expect us to do, your system is already on" followed by an email I sent to another team member that was vaguely "forwarded" to to other team members followed by dead silence. My experience with Nerd Power has been a rollercoaster of emotion, to quote the great Ron Burgundy. It has been a tale of two halves. I would give the first part of our experience 1 star. However, the team rebounded in the second half and delivered an awesome product. I would give the second half of our experience 5 stars. The first three months: 1 Star Review - The NerdPower team was unable to deliver the product they sold us, and attempted to charge us extra to install what we had originally purchased. We struggled to get in contact with knowledgeable resources that could help us make decisions and move the project forward. There were about 3 months of back and forth conversation before our project officially started. - Miscommunication everywhere. We'd have a conversation with one NerdPower team member, and it would be like the conversation never happened. None of the information was documented or relayed to the wider team. It was extremely frustrating. The next three months: 5 Star Review -Our experience turned a corner for the better when I called customer service. Benton took control of my experience and began moving the project forward. He was empathetic, organized, and put us in touch with the right people. Just what we needed to save our experience. - Benton connected us with knowledgeable leaders that could guide our decision making around the products we needed to complete our installation. - Oscar from the installation team had significant experience in solar installation, and helped make key decisions on site. - The electricians that worked on our home were amazing. Anthony executed a complex project to bend the conduit and hide it from view so it was not an eyesore on the home. Ron and Angel were both amazing as well. They treated my home with care, as if it was their own. Their professionalism and attention to detail was top notch, and I'm grateful for the work they did on our home. - Zach was an excellent communicator during the second half of the project and critical to getting our project completed. I would have initially rated this company and my experience with them as five starts, however the post-install support has been excruciatingly disappointing. The process started over a year ago when I first purchased my home. Getting solar installed was at the top of my list and I received quotes from a few companies but due to some circumstances didn't move forward. I was contacted again by NERD Power in late June and I decided to move forward. The sales and install process was great and communication throughout was okay as far as getting timeline updates. After the solar system was energized I noticed it was having DAILY communication failures with the monitoring server over the cellular network. NERD repeatedly brushed aside my concerns and getting in-touch with anybody at the company was difficult to say the least. I decided to let the problem go until recently. I was reading the manufacturers website when I discovered that my Inverter was activated with a known firmware problem and it should have been upgraded. I've now spent the last couple of weeks trying to get NERD to solve the problem and it isn't going well. Nobody answers the phones, only 1 guy seems to inconsistently respond to e-mails. Absolutely despise everything about NERD Power. If you must get solar, do your research, and avoid them! I have had NERD Power for 21 months. Average bill during non summer months is $220. Summer is between $300-450. That's with 31 panels on my roof that produce 1.64 mwh. But don't worry, they will always tell you that your electric company is somehow to blame. But hey, doesn't everyone enjoy paying $500-800 a month in electric in AZ? If they come knocking on your done..... don't let them in!!! One star is WAAAAAAY too generous! read more

Buyer beware and read every single detail about your potential solar loan! They just want to make the sale! They don't tell you that the tax incentive the government offers is only on the solar loan that PUTS A LIEN ON YOUR HOUSE! So even if they tell you , Yes you can sell you house, the solar loan is transferable, IT IS NOT! There are two types of solar loans. So do your homework if purchasing and read the fine print and do not take their word. We learned the hard way! Only way to sell our house now is buy paying off a 50k dollar loan. TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!!! Nothing but headaches after you get the pitch and sign the contract. They'll convince you that they are on top of things, have all their stuff together and that the entire process will be a breeze. It is a shameful LIE! Their project managers are horrible with communication and will ignore your requests for process updates for weeks on end. They do not know their service areas well enough and there were major issues communicating with the city of what they needed to do in order to move forward with the process. It took literal months to get things up and running when it was a simple fix all along. All they had to do was have a simple conversation with the city but they neglected to do so. I hate this company with a passion. I wish I read the reviews before signing the contract. The good reviews are only from people who have been offered a discount before the installation process begins therefore they actually have no idea how good or bad service will actually be. I'm in a small 1000sq ft home and keep my heat at 67 and never leave lights on, my monthly electric bill has been $100+ over the winter. I was told by the sales person my electric bill would be nothing in the winter and maybe $8 to $15 in the summer because of AC. Completely lied to. My summer bill was in the $60s. Can we all come together and sue this company? They haven't fixed my roof. It's been about 2 years. They delay delay delay and delay. Calling them is annoying as I keep getting the run around. Now my solar isn't producing any power so our bill is high again. I called them to let them know it's my inverter just like many others in here. They say they'll call on a certain day and that call never comes. I have to literally chase this company to get something done. If you're considering solar please shop around. I'm not sure if they're all like this but nerd power has been a horrible experience for my family. Something needs to be done. read more

At first the process seemed as it would work. However, six months later and no solar power. The sales representative makes promises they cannot keep and keep blaming others, such as the city or utility company. It is unfortunate that we have solar panels on our room, a huge contract to pay, and yet no solar. The representative was made aware of our electrical panel prior to the contract signing and yet the company still moved forward without addressing the issue until it was time to connect the solar panels to the electrical panel. As I told them, the panel was not up to par. Now we are waiting again - due to their poor planning. I can not get an answer as to when the work will be completed. I highly suggest you do NOT go with Nerd Power. They are not true to their word and then when you want to speak with someone in their office, you do not get the assistance or call back requested.
