Avoid Nerd Power at all cost. Answer to the Nerd power's answer from my first bad review (see below). Thank you for confirming all along how terrible our experience with you has been. Indeed, you ''only'' changed the inverter twice. Inverter #1 from installation was not working and SRP failed inspection. Inverter #2 lasted 2 weeks which was replaced after having to wait 2 months for the replacement of the same inverter that's inverter #3 which failed after 3 months of use. Now waiting for inverter #4, third inverter failure since we've been operational. A new upgrade inverter was supposed to be installed last time (inverter #3) and they did not, and after calling the support team, they have no intention to upgrade the inverter but simply replace the exact same one which will cause the same issue again. In case you, NERD power, are not aware: ''A very common reason for failure in the solar inverter is faulty installation. If the solar panels are not matched with the inverter capacity, your inverter will not work efficiently. As a rule of thumb, your solar panel capacity should be up to 133% of the inverter capacity.'' and ''The solar inverters on panels usually last between 10-12 years and typically need replacing at least once over the panel's lifetime. The power inverters are crucial for safe and efficient operation of solar panels.'' As far as calling myself the manufacturer, we are not the one buying from them but you are. At this point, we don't think it is an equipment failure but a poor installation that you refuse to come and fix because like support team said over the phone, they would actually have to send an electrician to come and check. First review: Very disappointing experience and we'll not be recommending nerd power to anyone. Signed contract in September 2022. They installed panels late December and were supposed to be operational in January 2023. SRP inspection failed because inverter was not working. Nerd power came relatively quickly to change it and SRP approved everything. Except that 2 weeks later, inverter broke again. The app was not working either and no one informed us we were off grid until we received our first SRP bill a month later. After having to call and inform nerd power of the issue, it took them over a month to get the piece and to come repair. We were told that they would install a more powerful inverter cause it was already the 3rd one they came to install. However, they never upgraded the inverter as we found out 4 months later and inverter broke again. Once again, no one contacted us to let us know we were off grid, again. When calling nerd power, no one knows anything. We were told weeks of wait to even receive the same new piece which is obviously not working. In the meantime, we are being charged $$$ from SRP while solars are not working. We are actually losing money instead of saving money like they promised we would installing solar. Total of month solar being install and supposed to be running 6 months, total of months actually working 3 months. No help or compensation were offered during these months being off grid. read more

The two gentlemen first came to my home mentioned the government programs available to help pay for these changes, Karl came to my home the next week and we discussed some different options for about an hour. Karl also mentioned these state programs that would help with the cost but did not say exactly what they were. We scheduled another meeting, I did some quick googling about these supposed government programs and found out quick I didn't qualify. When I told Karl I wasn't interested he responded like a small child who had his toy taken away, accusing me of making something up and lying. Don't be like Karl, work with adults. I got my panels over a year ago and I still have the same complaints. If the salesman had more knowledge I would have known not to go with this company. They didn't give me the panels needed for a 3 bedroom home but instead gave me enough for a two bedroom and said that if we sell the new owners will have to get more for themselves. However, after nearly six months, we are STILL waiting to hear back from the HVAC contractor to start that portion of the project. Having started this process in early November, we thought the HVAC would be done long before the end of April. We are now approaching the warm season in Tucson, AZ and still no word on this. I've had my solar panels on my house for about a year and a half... After some initial difficulties, overall I am very pleased with this company. The vice president of the company, Brian, reached out to me on multiple occasions and has been very very communicative and responsive...I would recommend this company definitely if you're looking for solar for your house.... they have a whole program where they put LED lights and seal your ducts, blow in insulation and then they install your solar panels with an energy monitoring device. we got off to kind of a rocky start but everything in my eyes has been rectified and made up for. James was great! So glad he came and knocked on my door to offer solar. I was hesitant but he explained it in a way that made sense.

Our sales person KArl was awesome. Very upfront about costs, very informative and honest designing our system. It has performed pretty much exactly as we had discussed it would. the bad review is for the technicians and customer service. Alex was the tech that did our thermostat and inside work. He was nice enough. He could not figure out why my AC would not blow. It was only blowing heat. After a couple of hours and several trips into my attic he did something with the wiring and it worked. Fast forward......it has been chilly this winter and we have an infant grand daughter. So for the first time we went to turn on the heat......there was none. We tried to get ahold of NERD Power and could not. they never responded, called, emailed, snail mail, smoke signals, nothing. So I called out another service. Immediately they found the thermostat NERD installed was installed incorrectly. We have no gas in the house, the white wire was installed in the spot for gas. Yet we still had no heat upon that change. After a little bit of trouble shooting the tech had found NERD jimmy rigged the unit in the attic with a jumper wire which made it blow AC any time the motor was turned on. Took out that wire, moved the wire in thermostat to where it should be, and everything worked perfect. The techs at NERD power do not know what they are doing. The tech that installed the outside box installed it incorrectly and it would not power up the system. I had to call my sales rep, Karl, to get this resolved as the Customer Service at NERD Power is non existent. We did attempt 4 times to get ahold of NERD for the heat issue. 1 emails, 2 phone calls, and tried to reach Karl. Nothing worked. So to summarize the solar and functionality have worked well once up and running. The technicians need better training and the jimmy rigged my wiring to make AC work. Their customer service is non existent and really need improvement. Without customer service a business really has nothing. read more

Buyer Beware after reading the revues I have notices that the one that I have made back over a year ago 10/13 2020 has been removed. Now I do realize why. You see I gave a burning review of this chop shop business. Back when they were getting business, buy by lying and cheating the customer it started with a phone call to set a appointment for a rep, to come out to talk to us about a solar install. When she showed up, she went over the sale pitch much like a used car sales men. That is when I told her that was a Master electrician. In addition, with out a load check of house with everything turned on the amount of panels would not support the load in all circumstances. In addition, she agreed to more however, what they installed was 17 and it should have been at least 24 good not cheep panels. The estimated price was quoted at $20.000 and when I got the bill, it came to $24,000. And I was to send the finance company my solar incentives over a two year Period fro my income tax of which I did not get something more that was not told to me was there was a amortization written into the contract that was not told about. Along with all of that, they were to do the install in May of 2020. In addition, they did not start the install until August. They did a **Bad** install of the converter Line to the Barker Box. They did not install the cut off for just after the meter trim. Therefore, my power company had to reject the install, twice to finally get it approved. If you are thinking about going solar...DO NOT go with NerdPower. I was convinced by a fantastic salesman to install solar panels back in 2019 and it has been a nightmare ever since! First, it took them a year to install the panels. I was making a payment before having them installed. One of the "benefits" of going solar, I was told, is that I would receive $12,000 (direct quote) refund on my taxes. The salesman said I can revert that money back to the balance and my payment would remain the same. My thought process was I can refinance and pay off the $28,000 panels and just have a $60 electric bill (something I was also quoted). Guess what? Three CPA's said it is NOT a refund; it is a tax credit. "If" you have enough liabilities you "may" qualify for this refund "but" you have to make over $100,000 to qualify. That is not how they word it when they give you the sales pitch. So now I owe $40,000 for the panel for the next 20 years! Also, my bill has NEVER been less than $125 since I got the panels. That's what I paid before the panels. So if you want to avoid that "sick to your stomach" feeling for 20 years, do not go with NerdPower. read more

Absolutely excruciating and overall miserable install process. Going on six months and have failed multiple inspections. Time lapse between install phases are a month at a time. Initial site inspection and plan layout person didn't know the difference between north and south. We have our first loan payment due next month and don't see any path forward to having functional panels...so I'll be paying for both TEP and solar. Not recommended company and wish I could go back and research other companies prior to signing the contract. Overall customer service lacking...they've been paid the the credit union, so why would they be motivated to complete the install. I can only imagine what post install support will look like. the only reason I am giving a 2 star is because of Chris Le. he came out to my place of resident and i told him to check in with me in a week after i get back from my vacation. so last week he gave me a call and we set a date for 5/15/21 at 11am. Was all set for the person to come out and have a chat on how they could help with my bill. Here is why the low rating, i get a call from Segal? I could not make out the name from the VM but I called her back and she told me her adviser is running late. the previous appointment was over an hour late so he returned to that appointment but fail to let the office know to give the next person a heads up. instead I was waiting around till about 11:20am before she contacted me. I get things happen which you cannot control but how you react is 100% in your control. Letting a customer know that he is behind well after the scheduled appointment is highly annoying. Then telling me can we do something closer to 1pm. still not giving me a concrete time slot is why I am sour about the interaction i had with Nerd Power. Then Chris Le contacted me today and asked why I had "cancelled" my appointment this past weekend, and I had to explain to him the whole story. So again instead of update the contact/ appointment on what really happened Segal? just cancelled my appointment and made it look like I did not want the service. In reality it was the poor way they handled their customer service is why I declined the reschedule of the appointment. They check and fix the duct work, check and upgrade the circuit breaker box, check soundness of roof, install 15 inches of insulation and there's so much more. They do not put a lein on your house! Solar panels consistently go out, you DO NOT get notified by Nerd Power, instead your utility company 2-4 weeks later notifies you, leaving you with a full bill and no solar coverage. The only solution is to log into a portal daily to see if the panels are working, even then they take at least a week to send instructions for you to try and trouble shoot then send somebody out another week later. They only have one person answering phones and in filing a BB complaint are not short and not customer accommodating. I regret and will always regret doing busies with them and stuck with a 25,000.00 loan! read more

My family and I just moved to Mesa from California. We were unloading some of our belongings while a rep came and introduced himself. At first I didn't mind because I thought they were one of the neighbors but then they mentioned solar. My husband and I are thinking about getting solar but the timing wasn't good. All I wanted was to unpack and relax but this salesman was very pushy even though I told him I'm not interested at the time. He kept asking me questions about the house and myself making it seem like he can relate. At this point my husband just walked inside and the sales rep tried to walk inside OUR house uninvited! Very unprofessional. Train and groom your sales people better. I could smell the body odor. Will not be getting solar from Nerd. Not to mention my child was very creeped out by this man. So I did a contract with Nerd Power in mid August with a salesman (Derrick) that to me was pushy but he used the excuse that everything was changing and we had to jump on it to get the most benefits from signing right away. If I had known it was going to take 6 months to complete the install and get us up and running I would have opted out at the beginning. The salesman made statements that were incorrect as I found by discussing the statements with the owner, he clarified the misleading info to me as we got close to the end of the year when everything was to change involving solar. As the process went on and on there was excuse after excuse as to why things were moving so slow, blaming the city on turndown after turndown on permits. Really got pissed when everything got installed and waiting for an installer to put in the transmitter to communicate with the company showed up with new equipment and says "oh this isn't compatible with the old system". So he basically told me that I got the last of the old equipment in my install. At the end of it all when it finally got turned on last day of March, I like the system, I like the performance but I would not recommend Nerd Power, there are several out there, take your time. read more
