Recently on 10.6.22, I went back from having an initial good experience with them and had the totally opposite one. I went in to see about getting a virus removed from my computer. I paid $59 to them upfront for the diagnoses and removal, then another $40 after job was completed. Then when I picked it up and brought it home, the computer continued to not operate properly by having the same issues I originally brought it in for. So, I went back and they looked at it again, but it showed no operational problem. But when I brought it home, after awhile, it started malfunctioning again. Very frustrating. So, I brought it back for the third time, and the technician said "the keyboard might be thee problem," and took a few minutes to show me why, which I appreciated. Then I went and bought a new keyboard for $40 and it fixed the real problem. So, then I called them today to ask about getting a partial refund for the virus removal because they didn't have to remove any virus even though they acted as if they did. I told them I'm ok with paying the initial $59 they charged me for their labor and time, but that I would at least like to get the final $40 I paid refunded back to me because they never had to remove any virus as they claimed they did. Never said any word to me that there was no virus. That's like going to a mechanic and they diagnose that you need a tune-up, then they do it and charge you for it, when it wasn't needed, even though they acted like it needed it. Then come to find out, it was just the advice that it may be a new oil filter is all that you needed. They showed no fairness in my opinion. They charged me for unnecessary work they did because they diagnosed it wrong, and wanted to cover up for their mistake. Then I paid even more money to buy a new keyboard because of their incompetence. When if they diagnosed it properly the first time, all I would have had to pay for was the $59 and a $40 keyboard for a total of $99. But instead, I ended up paying a total of $139 because their incompetence. I guess this is what they consider is doing good business at a time in our economy were people are struggling to afford the cost of living. They've lost my repeat business forever over $40 and I will NEVER recommend anyone else to them. I'm a small business owner myself, so I know how important treating the customer with fairness is. We'll I hope the $40 was worth it to them. So disappointing. I really thought they were a good local business to do business with. Maybe I expected too much from them after my original positive experience with them. It even appears that you can't leave any more Google reviews with them. Interesting. read more

Had a simple data transferal from my older external hard drive to a new one. After first giving it back to me folders and NO FILES i brought it back and 2 days later they were unable to get the files moved and blamed it on the hard drive. So after getting my drives and money back, I found they didnt realize the new hard drive simply needed to be FORMATTED smh real "Experts" huh? I ended up doing the transfers myself because these "professionals" are unable to perform BASIC troubleshooting to complete a task. I Tried putting this on their Facebook but it never posted, they censor ACTUAL experiences with these clowns! read more

The guys here are absolutely amazing! Keith and Ben are some of the nicest guys around, and I would recommend going here to anyone at all, from one nerd to another! I brought my laptop in as it was having issues overheating, so we thought. They fixed up a few issues I DID have with the laptop, but a few weeks later I noticed the issue hasn't been resolved. In the end, I brought it in again, and they looked it over for about a week trying to figure out what was wrong, only to find out it was a manufacturer's error. They still tried to fix it after this, Ben especially, but could not, as the company's error made it too risky for them to keep trying without possibly resetting my computer. These two did all they could, and on top of that, to go above and beyond, they offered to loan me a laptop I could use if I had to send mine to the manufacturer to be repaired. Being a college student, if I had to send my computer out to the manufacturer, and be without a computer for some time, I would have some issues doing my classwork. So, these two offering to loan me a laptop means the world to me, and truly shows how dedicated to the customer these guys at Nerds To Go are! Keith and Ben are exceptional employees of Nerds To Go. They will definitely have my business as long as they are here, and I'll be sure to recommend them to all my friends! read more

Being so IT ignorant, when a friend donated their used laptop to me and I couldn't get it to power up after charging it, I considered buying a brand new one. But I really couldn't afford that at the moment. However I also really needed the use of a laptop right away. So, before I bought a new one, I thought I should price repair services. NerdsToGo was the first place I tried, during my lunch break. The young man who greeted me was friendly and polite. He was patient with my non-tech vocabulary as well. As I considered whether to submit my device for service,buy a new one or do without, the staff member jiggled the power cord a bit and we discovered my laptop actually wasn't dead but has something loose in the powering. Now I can continue to use my laptop while I take the time I need to get it fixed. I offered a payment, but since I was only there for a few minutes the service was free of charge and I had a working laptop again! I'd definitely go back if and when I actually need full services. I felt comfortable and listened to and that counts for a lot! read more

Please do not use this company! I had asked them to repair my daughters chrome book, needed a new screen. Shortly after the repair, approximately 2 months, the screen goes dark, and of course it's after the 30 day warranty. So I decided to see if they could help, nope, wanted to charge me again to look at it! The tech then told me , " these things are only worth 200 bucks." Funny, you never said that when I dropped it to get repaired ! Lesson learned here, stay away from Franklin location!! I wish I could give no stars!!! read more

Broken lap top that wouldn't power up. Two charging ports with different types of charging cables. Only owned 1 charging cable and that didn't work. Asked them to see if they could try both types of chargers and get the laptop to power up. They said they did, laptop wouldn't power up, and laptop couldn't be fixed without a considerable investment. Option was to pay $159 to transfer contents of hard drive to cheap flash drive. We did not confirm this option, but were left a message that it was done anyway without our consent and we owed an additional $99 on top of the mandatory non-refundable deposit of $59. We called and asked if they tried to charge and power up the laptop using the other type of charging cord. The answer was "yes". Decided to take the laptop back, not pay any extra money and lose the deposit. Went to Best Buy, tried to charge the laptop with the secondary charger...and it worked and powered up fine. Obviously this is a case of an employee either lying or just being incompetent. Either way...avoid this location. read more
