They changed the project start and end dates three times, each time offering a different excuse. After multiple follow-ups, they finally started the job but failed to complete it as agreed. They requested a deposit upfront, which I unfortunately paid. After that, they stopped showing up and continued to make excuses without finishing the work. In conclusion, I strongly advise against hiring this company. Never pay a deposit to any contractor until the project is completed to your satisfaction.

From the start to the finish, Grant and Power was completely different than the other companies. Other locations just met you outside, what you wanted, and how big. Then we got a quote. However, when I contacted Grant and Powers, they started out with an email with some essential information like their insurance, a pamphlet and other information to get us started. We talked about what we were looking and then waited for our appointment Our appointment was different. Instead of going outside and talking about size... Gene sat us down to talk to us. He wanted to know what we wanted, what we were looking for and what we wanted to spend. We told him about how we were going to use the space and what we wanted and gave him our budget. Afterwards we talked about modern trends and what designs are in/out, how we wanted to place everything. Then off he went with the rest of the team to start designing it after a small down payment. He asked about budget and we talked about how much it might cost, but of course, the final bill could vary depending on the design. A few weeks later, we had another appointment where he showed us the design and it was amazing. They really sat down and listened to what we wanted because it looked amazing. The budget was completely out of our range.. granted, we knew our budget was on the low side of things, but they were willing to work with us to make this affordable. Finally, our day arrived. We got a call the night before that they were arriving in the morning to get started. During the process, the team were good...i would give them a 4.5/5 for a few minor things.They did talk to us a few times but I wish we were updated better. They were good about protecting our lawn even though some areas did suffer. Luckily (For us and them), our backyard had nothing out there. It was just bare land with green-ish grass. From start to finish, they were done in a week. We waited an extra day for another group of guys to show up to set up the firepit and show us how to use it. They were in and out fairly quickly. In the end, we got a beautiful patio. One section to entertain/eat. The other area is for the firepit and grill. Due to the design, they both feel separate from each other. We did find some minor damages that the team did not let me know or Gene. But he is going out of his way to making it right and I appreciate it. Ive had some neighbors stop by to marvel at the patio. Overall, if I were to ever move away, I would go back to this company to design a beautiful space again. I would completely recommend this company if you are looking for the same.

Ok to just give you a little backstory, prior to moving to FL, we had made arrangements with family…read moreto "rent" our house. I used the term loosely since it is not a true rental property that yielded any type of profit. So I'll just refer to them as occupants. Lol. This being the case, it did not make any sense for me to pay for landscape maintenance and was the responsibility of the occupants. They kept up with the lawn, but eventually the weeds took over the beddings / brick pavers and the trees / shrubs were not maintained. We recently made a decision that it was time to put the house market but before that can happen, there were several projects that were suggested by our real estate agent that would help increase our house value. One of those projects being the landscape. A month ago I contacted several landscaping companies requesting a quote via Yelp. John from American Artists Landscaping (AAL) was the first person to reply (on a Sunday). A service estimator was sent out to our property and an official estimate was emailed the following day. AAL wasn't even my first choice because when I did a "landscaping" search, they show up as #23, I'm glad that AAL was one of the companies I checked off to request a quote. One company actually gave me an estimate based on the Yelp quote request with no property assessment. Needless to say, we found the estimate to be very reasonable and accepted John's proposal. I had a little misunderstanding about when the project would be completed, but that was completely my fault. While I did not see the landscape in person, it's very apparent how much the curve appeal improved. The weeping tree looks interesting after the dead limps were removed, but it is an improvement from before. If you've ever done landscaping, it's a tough job and it would have taken me at least a week to complete on my own. The crew did it in one day. While we only utilizes his service for landscape maintenance, AAL is a full service landscaping company. And while I'm sure he has much larger accounts than the project on my property, he still gave the same amount of attention and gratitude for my business. There is a currently a $300 for $500 Yelp offer as well that I was able to utilize. John is profession, quick to respond, and has been in business for over 20 years. I'm hoping my house sells fast, however if additional maintenance is required, I won't hesitate to contact John for our future landscaping needs.
