Not the biggest fan of this place. Took my son out to have dinner, while on vacation, though there were many reviews, all claiming place to be good. The fact that we spent $25 for 2 meals that mainly consisted of burgers and an order of fries. Seemed pricey. My son claimed that his burger tasted like hot dog which was understandable since they serve hot dogs at this place as well. My husband and I have been meaning to check this place out for years, so we went last Sunday. We both got the Nessy Burger & fries. It was good... not the best, but good... and there's a pound of meat so you can definitely split it. The only major downside was all the flies buzzing around us, waiting to get a taste, so it would help if they had indoor seating. Not sure we'll be back, but I'm glad we at least tried it. read more

Came here on a nice and sunny Sunday afternoon. There was a line, but it moves quickly. Service is amazingly fast considering everything is made to order. The portions and sandwiches are huge. One order of the fries is easily sharable. The burgers are big, tasty and juicy. Strangest thing was my husband got his with everything- lettuce, tomatoes, onion and Nessie sauce, while I got my my typical burger order of just the bun, burger and cheese....The extras seemed to overwhelm the beefy taste of the burger. The hot dog was great too. Be sure to go over what comes on top of the hot dog. If a table opens, pounce on it immediately, seating is at a premium during peak hours! Everytime i go here the food is always good.I always get my food pretty quick and even when it's busy i still get it pretty quick which is always a plus in my book.The price is definitely worth it for the quality of the food.The burger is a pretty big size also you get a good amount of fries.Their thousand island sauce is good or as I like to call it nessy sauce.You will be eating outside as it's not a big restaurant it's just like a little container they cook out of with picnic type tables around it. read more

it's been a while since i've eaten here...but after reading Ace D's burger list...i was reminded of the best burger i've ever had. going to Nessy's is quite a drive for those of us who live in San Diego...so this is my regular stop on the way to Pala, Temecula, or anywhere in Riverside County...it is just off the 15 @ the 76 in a small shack next to a Gas Station... it is generally packed with Truck Drivers...as my husband says..."if Truck drivers or cops go to a restaurant, you know it's good and clean and you wont get sick"...well nessy burger is beyond that bare minimum standard.... it is really good! ...no it is amazing!!! the burgers just taste FRESH and they are a damn good portion...i've never had any of the other meats...i stick with a basic beef burger. i've actually never tried the fries or anything else here...just a nessy burger... i'm going to make a trip up here, once i save up some gas money and try some other menu items...i'll make it a road trip... only negative..it closes early...so no stopping on your way home from the casino's =( read more

It's been a while since I've been to Nessy Burgers and then I remembered that it had been years since I've tasted one of those hot and juicy burgers. So on our annual drive to Julian we decided to make a stop and get some. I was so excited as we saw it off the freeway because I just remembered how awesome it is. We pulled up and I jumped out of the car like a kid pulling up to the Disneyland parking lot. This is also partly because this is a Loch Ness Monster (get it, Nessy) themed burger joint and if this place doesn't bring out your inner child you might wanna see if you have soul. Anyway. I almost ran to the window and I knew exactly what I wanted...chili cheese fries...ohhhhh yeah. So as I was beyond excited to order, that was quickly thwarted by the gal at the register who gave 0 you-know-whats about me or any of this food at Nessy. I politely said, "Hi. How are you?" ....waited for a response, no response. "Ok, can I get an order of chili cheese fries?" ...*eye roll* Then my bf placed his order. *more eye rolls* Ok, heffa, now you're workin my nerves. We pay for our food and as we walk to a table we're positive that she was gonna botch the order somehow. Why? Because that's what happens when you give 0 you-know-whats. Sure as shit, she botched the order by forgetting an entire side of fries. Heffa are you serious? My chili cheese fries were something special. The fries are cooked to perfection (crispy without being too burned) and the chili doesn't taste like it's straight from a can (I suspect they doctor it up). I'm not sure how people could give Nessy 1 or 2 star reviews. If you want speed and "flavor," go enjoy a salt-infested burger from any fast-food chain. Nessy is all about quality. The meat is amazing and the tomato and lettuce look as if they were handpicked right before they were placed on your burger. The price is damn cheap considering how much food you get. 3.5 stars! Deep within the recesses of Rainbow Valley, just outside Fallbrook, nestled between the hills dividing the 15 fwy, a monster awaits as one approaches Hwy 76: NESSY! It's true! She's been spotted off the 76 and 15 by the Mobil Gas station and the Park & Ride. Others say she'll be back but for now, she has migrated just north of this location by the Nursery. If you can withstand the swarm of bees flying about while you eat outside of this fast food joint housed in a white storage container, then Nessy is well worth it, considering its location. For years now, Nessy has served CalTrans workers, truckers, park& ride peeps and tourists gassing up or just passing through on their way to Oceanside, San Diego or Temecula wine Country and beyond. Nessy has satisfied many a tummies, including yours truly. Having to make a pit stop at Mobil, a few years back, on my way to Oceanside, I noticed a line of people at said white storage container, while others were seen sitting at the outdoor eating area. I curiously strolled over and before I knew it I was ordering the Trucker special - a Nessy burger with a fried egg. Patty was well made, hand formed and the burger was huge, w/ crisp iceberg lettuce and fresh tomato. Only thing though, the thick slice of raw white onion was a bit much. I had to take some out. Tried it with grilled onions recently and tasted much better. The crinkle cut fries were crispy, non-greasy and accompanied by ketchup in a user-friendly squeeze bottle. Convenience people, hello!!! Nessy had me at squeeze-bottle ketchup. She just gets it. None of that crappy ketchup-packet hullabaloo! But, I digress. If you're passing through, why not give her a try. I get why the Nessy Burger's name sake is the Loch Ness Monster. 1. It comes out of nowhere (really... I think this may in fact be in the middle of Nowhere Township, CA) 2. You don't believe your eyes. 3. You're surprised how big it is. 4. Its gone before you know it. I think this a great burger. And frankly that is all I've tried. It is so big that unless you are free feeding or in an eating contest you don't need more than the burger. I can speak for no other menu item. The burger: Big. Well proportioned with the whole spread and all. Quality meat. Fresh. Sesame seed bun: I get it. Adds so much to the mouth feel. It's not just big, it's delicious. This is worth the drive. Raced home from work in OC to take the family there for dinner. Hours online said open till 7pm. Arrived there at 6:14 and they appeared to be closing. When my husband tried to ask if they were closing they ignored him. When they finally acknowledged him to say yes they were closing they were rather rude. Get the burger with egg and cheese. Even if you die of a heart attack or get a heart disease, it will probably be worth it. I didn't get it. I had a regular Nessy Burger with the regular toppings - cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions (later added thousand island dressing) And it was good. The meet was juicy. But the guy who sat across from me had the burger with egg and cheese and it looked delicious. I said, "wow", "that must be really good", and "I'm burger hatin'", hoping that he would offer to cut it and give me a tasted. Granted, I didn't know him. But I thought he might have pity based on the desperation in my voice. He didn't offer. He chuckled a couple of times. He even chuckled before he had his last bite. Maybe he considered it. But he didn't offer. I thought about ordering another one but that seemed gluttonous and I didn't want to end up like one of those people in the movie "7even" with Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Morgan Freeman. Took the family there today for lunch. It's a trailer on the side of the road so if you're going for ambiance, this isn't the place. Seating is a few picnic tables spread around the lot. Price is reasonable and the portions are huge! The wife and I could have got away with just splitting a burger. You get what you pay for. The wait was long as there was a lunch crowd. All and all it was a good burger for the price. Be sure to bring your wet wipes though! You will get messy and there is no bathroom. Just a port a potty in the back of the parking lot. read more

Man, this place was just not good. I was expecting to be blown away, ppl love it. I don't get it....the burger was mediocre at best, the seating is ridiculous, there are literally hundreds of bees and flies swarming you and your food and drinks, terrible customer service, and on top of all that their prices are extremely high for what it is. My husband and I had two burgers, two fries, two drinks, and an egg and cheese sandwich for our toddler and it cost $40. If you're gonna be a walk up burger trailer/shack with some picnic tables, an intense bee and fly problem, have no customer service skills, serve ok food with super cheap ingredients, and basically cut every corner you possibly can, then at least have reasonable prices. These people are cheap and ghetto and are gouging their loyal customers for all they can get. Nasty. Five guys, In n Out, and yellow basket are all wayyy better. read more

Solid 4 and half stars, best burger discovery in a long time. I stayed at the Pala Mesa golf resort just down the street and had they're food there before and wanted to avoid the high prices and so-so food there, so off to Nessy we go. First off was the price and the only reason why they do not get a full 5 stars, I ordered 2 cheeseburgers and 2 fries, our total was over $20, little pricey for a food truck and picnic tables in a parking lot. Taste was spot on for the burgers, 1/2 pound patty, well seasoned, juicy and properly cooked. Somebody said the bun was, "basic sesame bun". Incorrect, they did not skimp on the bun, it was a high quality, expensive, tasty bun, hardly basic. I consider the cook to be a pro and would hire him to run my own burger joint, I ate my entire burger the way he made it, and would not change a thing. The fries were the big cut, frozen type, but were hot and perfectly cooked. I actually like these kind of fries sometimes, using fresh cut fries like "In N Out" but bigger cut would be ideal though. This was my first time here and it is very easy to miss, it sets back from the road, among some shops, I would put a lighted sign out on the road, to make it easier to find. Please open one of these in Pomona, we sorely need a good hamburger joint, once a year when I visit Fallbrook for golf, is not going to be good enough. read more

A jumbo jack with cheese taste better, and those are gross too!! Over twenty bucks for 2 burgers, hot dog, chips and can soda!! And it sucked!!! This was like a meatloaf burger, SUPER dry and tasteless meat. It tasted like quality meat, but no seasoning and it was hard to swallow, choking down the dryness. The thousand island saturated the bun and the 8 circles of onion was a bit excessive.... I live in Oceanside and used to work in Temecula so I drove past this little stand for almost 3 years but never stopped. When my boyfriend and I finally visited a few months ago, the long lines I often saw and the beautiful scent of grilled meat was finally explained. No wonder the truckers stopped here instead of McDonald's or Jack In The Box along the way. The burger was great: large juicy patty and full of flavor. The extra 1000 Island dressing on the tables go great with the fries. My boyfriend had the polish sausage and that was good too (split down the middle and grilled). The condiments were fresh and the atmosphere (that being a roadside stand) makes me feel like I'm on a long road trip and stopping for some good eats. read more

They have very good burgers. The fries are standard fare and the sodas are canned sodas, such as Coca-Cola, root beer. Due to the construction for the new park-and-ride, they have moved up the street a bit. Be careful not to miss it as you drive-by, it's on the left. In the Pala Mesa Market shopping area. I had heard about this place on the news and posted in a local FB group. Was craving a greasy burger and thought we'd drive the extra 10 mins to Nessy' s. Ordered the Nessy burger, the turkey burger and chili cheese fries for $25. Ouch. First impression- both burger patties were huge. Fresh onion and tomato slices, the lettuce a little soggy and the bun was just ok. Took a bite of the Nessy and immediate had a taste I remembered but wasn't sure where, then it hit me.. It tasted like meatloaf!! which I thought was weird. It had been cooked with onion and other seasonings. Not what I was expecting or wanting. Hubby had the turkey burger and he said it was dry and bland. Now the chili cheese fries were great. Tons of chili and cheese so the fries got a little soggy but still delicious. Maybe get the chili on the side to prevent that. All in all, I can say I went but I wouldn't go back. read more

Whenever I come to Nessy Burgers, I normally get the ham and egg sandwich with fries. The serving size is so big that I can't eat all of it. I would always need to save the other half for later or split it with a friend. The only down part of Nessy's is sometimes during peak hours, there are no seats available.
