The backstory is that we originally were working with a different mortgage officer for a different company, but she warned that we weren't going to be able to make the closing date. That freaked us out, and our realtor recommended we switch to Dave. I'm so glad she did, because Dave really stepped in and got things done, as soon as possible. It's like he had a fire lit under his butt and needed to move move move. We really appreciated that. He pushed us to get things turned around quickly, and he pushed everyone else involved in our transaction (especially the escrow company, which was having issues). On his own initiative he contacted the relevant parties (e.g., the escrow company, our financial advisor, our insurance agent) when things were unclear or when they needed to be pushed. And we were able to make our closing date with days to spare, with a solid mortgage at a very competitive interest rate. Dave took the time to explain the complexities and walk us through things, while also pushing things along and sending us reminders when we were forgetful. One thing I especially appreciated is that he acted as our advocate and gave us advice, rather than being tight-lipped and trying to cover his own butt. In other words, he acted as if he wanted us to get a loan and get the house, and his job was to help us make that happen, rather than trying to protect the bank from all possible risks and just make money for the bank. Stephen was helpful and very quick to respond to any questions I had. This process was done during the quarantine, which I thought would make things difficult, but it couldn't have been easier. Stephen even drove out to my house several times to exchange paperwork. Before my loan was finalized, I had already called many of my friends and family to let them know if they needed to refinance, they should give Countywide Mortgage a call!

And since they are a "sister bank" of my bank, which is MyPoint, I would think it would be okay. Apparently they don't provide change unless you open an account with them. WTH! Two days later I was notified by phone that they were refusing to complete the transfer. They claimed, without proof or in- depth research, that the recipient was a fraud. The purpose of the transfer was to purchase a medical device that I had researched and tested, and had found to be the only thing so far that relieved the constant pain I have had for over a month now, due to an injury by a pilates instructor, that also triggered a severe case of shingles. By denying the transfer, they have prolonged my pain and suffering. These banks should not have power to deny wire transfers on the basis of "suspicion" only, and should not have power to tell account holders how they may or may not use their own funds. Because I contested their decision, they have also closed out my account.
