Peter Duffy's team took over the work that our previous, nightmare-of-a-contractor had started…read more From the start, Peter and his amazing crew, Oliver and Alan, showed up at our house first thing in the morning, and didn't stop until 5pm or later. They accomplished more in one week than our first crew did in 2 months. Peter was truly invested in the project, and it was clear how much he cares for his clients and his crew. Every step in the process was a collaboration: Peter scheduled appointments between us and the electrician, HVAC crew, and plumbers so we could all walk through the house together and talk through what we wanted and what would work. Peter also made suggestions throughout the process that improved the plan and house in ways that never would have occurred to us. At one point, Peter's crew had the idea to move an original built-in cabinet to another wall in order to open up the dining room to the kitchen, and it changed the entire flow of the house in the best way possible. Visitors always scratch their heads in disbelief when we tell them that the built-in was moved - they insist it looks like it has always lived in that corner of the room! Peter uses the best materials for his builds, and the finishing work is outstanding. Oliver is an incredible carpenter, so our new stairs, kitchen casework, trim around the walls and doors, and tile work in each bathroom is absolutely gorgeous. The existing walls in the house were in bad shape after we removed the wallpaper, so Peter's meticulous painting team patched and repaired all of the walls before painting. The walls are now absolutely smooth and look brand new. The few times there were issues, Peter and his crew addressed them immediately - things were corrected by the following day. Our entire project was massive, and Peter coordinated the work of all of the subcontractors seamlessly so there was never a day that no one showed up to work. Peter's prices throughout the project were also reasonable, especially for the quality of work and materials that they included. Our finished home is more beautiful than we could have ever imagined - we are beyond happy and grateful to Peter and his crew. It was a small project and we had had a difficult time finding someone to take it on. We were incredibly lucky to find Christopher at just the right time. We reached out to him on a Wednesday afternoon and the timing worked out that he came by the very next day, gave us a very reasonable quote, and was able to start the work on Friday, and complete it on Saturday. His communication was excellent, and he was very straightforward about the whole process. He let us know exactly what he was going to do and checked in throughout the work to be sure it was what we wanted. He's a trustworthy guy, as well as just a very nice person to work with. We couldn't be happier about the work - he did a fast, thorough, and phenomenal job, and was kind enough to offer us advice and pointers on the painting (still upcoming!) that would need to be done after the construction. I hired them to renovate my bathroom after Luis told me they had a licensed plumber and an amazing…read moretile guy. Well, the plumber and tile guy were one and the same and the day they were starting the tile, they opened up a brand new tile cutter out of the box and started reading the instructions. They used a piece of cardboard as a spacer, so as soon as it got wet, the spacing started to get funky. I also laid out a mock-up on my kitchen table of how each row of tile was to line up that they completely disregarded after the first wall was done. I came home for lunch one day and they had installed the bullnose upside down! They also used the wrong blade for the tile cutter because all the cut edges are raggedy. I'm going to have to pay someone to redo most of it one day, which will involve me replacing the expensive Italian tiles. Aside from the horrible tile work, the window casing looks like it was put together with scraps of trim and they painted everything with a roller and didn't full nail holes before doing so. They also damaged the new tub when installing the drain and damaged some tiles installing some fixtures. The drain line to the sink was installed too high, so until we can get a plumber to come in and repair it, we had to bend the metal and tape it all together temporarily just to get the drain to open and close all the way. Finally, we keep finding set screws on the floor and fixtures keep coming apart (faucet handles will come off in your hand, towel bars come loose from the wall, etc). I never pick the cheapest contractor but Luis and Antonio assured me I'd be pleased with the final product. It looks like I did it myself and I am not handy!

His work was neat and tidy and he built a frame for temporary curtains for us while waiting for installation of the glass shower. He did repair for us when we sold our home in Wellesley in April-May 2017 which was a $20,000.00 project. Because of his good work, we asked him renovate our recently purchased home in Jamaica Plain. Frank was a no show to give me an estimate, no communication that he was running late or unable to make it. He accommodated coming early one morning to give an estimate that seemed fair. Fast forward to when they were scheduled to do the work, 30 minutes past start time no sign of Frank's team and no communication. Contact the office find out that they won't make it today. My experience has been poor communication and unreliableness. Won't be giving them a chance to reschedule and waste anymore of my time. It was a small job so maybe not worth the effort to provide good customer service. Seeing the business's response adding this - I understand things happen and I am not expecting perfection by any means but a little bit of respect for my time and communication would have been nice.
