I been coming to this diner for a few years. I never had a issue with this diner, until this morning. My family and I were having breakfast, and my mom found a bug in her breakfast. We showed it to our waitress, and she was so kind to remove the bug and the plate. She told us the Manager would be right over! The manager came over and said to us, " I do know about the issue with the bugs. We been working on it. It's gotten better!" That was the Managers only response?!! We got our check and realized this person does not care. He didn't even apologize about the bug issue, and to find it in the food? It was like it was normal to him! This is one of NJ's most over priced diners!! $11 for a side garden salad! What!! They have no purely vegetarian soup offerings. The bathroom was in so so condition. Came here on a Saturday night (around 11pm) with family. The place is really nice and quiet. The servers are very kind and warm. Everyone was more than willing to help with our orders and any other concern we had. Our food arrived pretty quickly too...I would say about 10 minutes. They play modern pop music inside which is nice. The prices are very cheap as well and you get a lot of food for what you pay for. I even got a free rice pudding for checking in through yelp! This diner has gotten worse over the years. Every time I go in you sit and you have to wait forever until a server comes over to take your order. You actually have to ask for someone to come over, while I see the servers all standing around talking to one another or goofing around. Recently the ceilings leak water onto the booths, and they have not been fixed. Every time I order a meal it never comes out correct, and the managers for the inconvenience never have accommodated me to adjust the price of the meal for the constant mistakes with the food!..I would not recommend this place to anyone to eat! read more

I am writing a bad review because I am surprised with the poor food quality of a diner I am so used to seeing the opposite of. Last Saturday I ordered chicken fingers and fries around midnight. I did this for the fact that the food is usually ALWAYS pretty damn good. I got it home and settled for the night. I started eating and the chicken was seriously like rubber... I could not even rip it apart-all 6 pieces were like this. The fries were the opposite, the were very undercooked. I could not even drive back and demand a new plate because it was already 1 AM and I was too tired. I was very disappointed. It's not like a cheap dish-costs me around 14-15 bucks every time I get it. I am writing this review to let the management at Nevada know that it was completely unacceptable to send food out that was both under and over cooked to the extremes. I would have notified sooner but in the middle of packing to move it completely slipped my mind. I will offer my email if a refund or discount of any kind can be offered, but as I currently stand I will not be ordering food to go anymore, as I do not want to go through that again. read more

I've always loved this diner. The staff are quick and efficient and the food is always delicious. We were helped by a lovely woman named Clarissa and she was so friendly and personable. Their Grecian gyro is delicious and my mother especially enjoyed the chicken pot pie which you could taste had fresh ingredients! 10 out of 10 will return again! read more

First we had to move from the section we were sitting at because it smelled like vicks and wet diapers. Then I ordered a Buffalo salad and got a wrap, the waitress that took my order asked me if we I wanted a wrap and I stated no a salad but she still came out with a wrap. Then after asking for a water it had white stuff in it. Then they changed it and it still had white stuff in it. This place sucks it used to be great. Now not so much. I stopped going for a while. Before they changed owners. The food and service was excellent. Now things have gone down greatly. First I went with my son about va month ago the manger did nothing but yell at the waitresses. It was wrong and embarrassing for them he did it in front of everyone he didn't care that there was customers there or who was listening he was rude and obnoxious. I feel badly for the women who have to work there. I had to wait so long for my food and wasn't checked on once. Now let's go to today I received a delivery from them. The french toast sticks were burnt and dry. I don't mean a little. The home fry's were soggy. I spent 35 dollars for my families food and only 2 out of 5 things were acceptable. After this I won't be going back. Oh one more thing I was told by one of the staff he doesn't even give the waitresses they're correct tips if you put the tip on the card. Say 5 dollars like I did they only get a dollar out of it. He keeps the rest he's not even serving people ridiculous. He needs to be reported. This was my first time going and it was really nice. I never knew that this place existed until I was invited by an Aunt who lived in the area. There is plenty parking in the parking lot which is located like a U around the diner as well as on street parking. You are presented to eat either inside or outside at tables with umbrellas which is nice. The place gets really packed but not to the point that the service will be affected. My server was friendly and even gave me extra mango daiquiri just in case. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad my sister ordered the stuff chicken with crab meat asparagus and tomato on top of mozzarella . She flew in from Texas with her friend who had the mocatti. Stopped in this diner on our way home from a day trip from NY to PA. We were craving some diner food and saw this on Yelp as a great place to eat. My husband ordered the rueben sandwich wIth sweet potato fries and I ordered the turkey club with sweet potato fries as well. The food came out cooked to perfection and was delicious! I love that they give you mayonnaise, for the club sandwich, on the side. They are truly an excellent place to grab some tasty food at a great price! Tried this diner for the first time and wasn't expecting much based on the 3 stars and the fact that it's a diner, but it was great. Super cozy atmosphere, really nicely decorated for the holidays. The chicken orzo soup I got was really good for diner soup and the hot chocolate was delicious. My bf got a chicken Caesar salad and also added salmon and the portion size of the salad as well as added salmon was great. Service was laid back but good. I'm sorry, Nevada, but this has to happen. *takes star* I was in here again the weekend before last with a friend and received the worst service from the most mumble-mouthed, lazy, zombie-like character poorly portraying a waiter. we initially had a jittery wide-eyed girl come over who admitted to being a bit scatter-brained and may have had too many red bulls or coffee that night, and i didn't mind that at all. i welcome a little nutty enthusiasm. but for some unknown reason there was a switch and this slacker-of-the-decade was put on our table. to everyone in the world: if you hate your job, don't punish your customers for it, especially if it's a job where you depend on tips. get a different job, or i think we all know what has to happen here... this dude barely lifted his feet when he walked, barely opened his eyes or mouth when he talked, never made eye contact, and would somehow be already walking away from the table before setting things down. and then just disappeared. it was really annoying. the only thing that saved him was 1. i wasn't paying and 2. the meatball parm i had was pretty good...though it was a panini, which i didn't ask for. i was kinda starting to rely on Nevada bc it's open 24hrs and close, but i'll gladly drive farther for better. read more

Where do I begin? First we arrived and were seated immediately however the table we were initially seated at was for two very skinny people, so we moved to another and that was not technically not big enough for my boo since his stomach was smothered into the table. So moved to a table that was fine. We sat down and waited for 15 minutes before someone came and brought us coffee and another 30 minutes for someone to take our order. Fortunately, the hostess brought us our coffee, but had to remind the waiter to take our order. As we were about to get up the waiter came. However, the person who took our order was not the person she spoke too. The waiter never introduced himself, just took the order and left. Once the food came out the food looked so bland and not what we requested. We both ordered cornbeef hash with eggs - his eggs were over medium and mines were scrambled; we both ordered extra crispy hashbrowns. His eggs looked as if they cracked the eggs and put it on the plate and both of the hashbrowns were not crispy and lacking in taste. Normally he does not send back food, but he did so I continued to eat my food which was ok UNTIL....I found a piece of plastic in my cornbeef OMG. At this point he just started to eat his food and he said "forget it im not hungry." We spoke to the manager who was very accommodating after we made him realize that we were not paying for the plate with plastic or plate that was full of food. We said we would pay for the coffee which was $4.05 (which was watered down and no bueno). Overall had a bad experience and would not come again. read more

I've been going to Nevada Diner for quite a while. Yesterday was my last time dining there.The waitress that I had yesterday was very dismissive and very short when taking my order, Im guessing it was the end of her shift so she wanted to kind of rushed me through my meal. So she could leave..also didn't let me know that they were going to be switching over and that I would be dealing with a new waiter which I think is appropriate so I know to either tip her before she goes or to just leave tip with a new waiter. In addition to that on several occasions I've gone to Nevada Diner and they've altered a lot of their menu items and have become horrible in taste or it's never what's on the menu. I have also grown to dislike the Filipino gentleman at the front door because he's very loud he's very short with guests sometimea and he can be a bit aggressive when seating guests. There's also an older woman that works in there as a waitress who was always weird For instance if I ordered a tea she put the tea bag inside of the water and kind of dress it up for me and bring it out to me and that made me uncomfortable which I didn't end up drinking the tea because I didn't know why she would do that I asked her to stop doing that. I've never had anything delivered but on several occasions I've seen many customers come in very frustrated because they order for delivery and they were told that there was no driver I've seen the Filipino gentleman fire people in front of customers and sometimes even talked down to a lot of the wait staff in front of customers which I think is massively inappropriate I also don't like the fact that a couple of months ago they only wanted you to leave tip on the credit card. Went in on a Thursday night to take advantage of the "with purchase of alcoholic beverage, 1/2 off appetizers.." So we ordered 2 bottles of coronas and prior to ordering all appetizers I had asked the waiter that if everything on the appetizers menu were half off and he said yes. Went to this Diner... the Nevada Diner... in Bloomfield NJ... last night with my Wife. I ordered a Hot Open Turkey with Brown Gravy diner with side of Vegetable and Mashed Potatoes. A half hour after returning home from the Diner I began getting very sick. Was on the toilet purging all night long. Missed a day of work today. My Wife took me to our Doctor. He said he believes this is a classic case of Food Poisoning. I'm still sick. It's obvious this place is serving bad food to people and it is making them sick. I won't be returning to this place. I do not recommend it to anyone else either. Food Poisoning results from unsanitary kitchen conditions, spoiled food, or an unsanitary chef or cooking staff. It means their Kitchen is unclean. Quite nasty when you think about it while you're sick and wondering how exactly you got sick. Stay away from this place. read more

I had a milkshake and here is my gripe-they didn't bring the metal cup thing with the glass that the milkshake was in. I know times are tough but where is the metal thing? Nevada has been added to my list of go-to diners (it's only #2). I've dined here a number of times but was only moved to write a review after my most recent visit. I must admit I was never blown away by a dining experience at Nevada but I never left feeling hungry, unsatisfied or disappointed either. But after I tried my friend's chicken fettuccine during my most recent visit, I was very impressed. Now, chicken fettuccine not a dish I would typically order at a diner. That's something I would leave to Olive Garden or some place but I must say that that dish was delicious. The chicken was tender and whole dish was very flavorful. I myself ordered the french toast sticks since I wasn't in the mood for anything too heavy and I was on a budget. They were very good-- couldn't have been better in my opinion. Now I think the thing with this place is, depending on what you order, you can be very pleased or not very impressed. Another friend of mine had the fried wings and those were very good! Another ordered some sort of sandwich but it didn't look that appetizing. I once ordered the shrimp wrap with waffle fries. Nevada Diner was the ultimate diner experience! Let me set the stage for you here: there were 11 of us together after visiting my boyfriend's Grandmother in the hospital. We spent all day with her, and by the time we all made our way to Nevada Diner, we would have eaten pretty much anything! I was a little nervous as it was prime-dinner time on Saturday night, and it's hard to find a place for that large of a group to walk in. Well the staff here seated us right away, and they had us laughing because they were thrilled there were no small children in our party! Michelle, our server, should earn her place in heaven for her service. She was patient while we all figured out what we wanted to eat or drink, and she joked back and forth with us the whole time. She had been there since 9 that morning, and stayed late with our table. I'm usually prepared for a surly teenager as a server when eating at a diner, so Michelle (who is by the way in law school right now!) was a breath of fresh air. The menu is extensive, you can get anything from salmon stuffed with crab to sweet potato fries to fried chicken. I got the gyro plate, which came with zucchini sticks (the zucchini's answer to french fries). It was delicious, and a huge portion. I won't go through the 10 other entrees we ordered, but some notables include their chili, which is served with a pile of tortilla chips, and their grilled chicken with pasta. The desserts looked amazing, but we were so stuffed we couldn't quite get there. We had such a nice time at Nevada Diner, and I appreciate how accommodating they were to a large (and noisy!) group. I haven't been here in years! The owners have changed but the food is still good. I ordered the pancakes and turkey sausage (yay for this option). I forgot what the size of Jersey pancakes are! They put me on hold for about 5 minutes (that's an eternity on hold). Then when she got back on the phone her first words were (WHAT DO YOU WANT) are you kidding me????. I gave 1 star because you can't put down --3. The hot pastrami was racing in the meadowlands the night before, I recognized him. The rye bread was dry and vomit tan colored. It's so sad Stevie Wonder is down to make sandwiches at this place. and if you were hungry when you got there, hold your breath. New Jersey is known for its diners. It has more diners within this small state than the entire rest of the country combined. I grew up here and of course I have been to well over 100 diners. some of them are amazingly good, most are about the same quality of simply meeting expectations. There are few that I would categorize as bad. This diner is not only bad, but probably the worst one in the entire state. The meatloaf requires a steak knife cause its solid as a rock. The disco fries(famous nj snack) have invisible cheese on it and a teaspoons worth of gravy. Since i know they skimp on the gravy out of convience when i ordered from them i asked for extra gravy on the side for my take out order.... of course they forgot to put it in the bag. for breakfast i asked for well done home fries. They were barely warm. sunnyside up eggs means hard yolks to them. the gyro is awful, it tastes like it died last year. and dont even get me started on the "coffee" its in quotes because its brown water. on a side note, the fairmont diner in hackensack stands out as the best diner gyro ive ever had. read more

The only thing I like here are the fruit smoothies. Their desserts look delicious but I'm always too full by the time I get to that point. Other foods are kind of hit or miss. I haven't tried everything though since it's a diner and diner menus are extensive. I've come here quite a lot this year because I have some friends who live in the area. Came here after some long nights and then after a 5k and just randomly throughout the year. Service is inconsistent, depending on the waiter and time you go in. Obviously later times (like past midnight) mean less patient waiters. So...I didn't take a star off for that. The stars off are for the corned beef hash which could stand to be wayyy more delicious than it is and this one time I had a benny here and ended the rest of the day on the toilet. That said, it only happened the 2nd time I've been here and I've come here a bunch of times and am still alive and still eat their food and am usually full and satisfied with it which is all I expect from a diner so...not sure what that says about me, but ...yeah. I have no idea where people are getting their ideas from but this is one of the better diners in NJ. They have everything you'd want in a diner experience: tons of selections, expansive dinner options, high quality breakfast and desserts, and the vibe. Diners are everywhere in NJ, and most of them are sub-par to average. Lame food - crap choices (especially for vegetarians). When I come here there is always something new & creative to try, never boring, and reasonably priced. Just last night I had a veggie panini with a side salad (they offer this or fries, automatically - really awesome choice). They have different bread choices which is awesome because I love sandwiches with non-boring bread. On each page there is at least one interesting option for a vegetarian & of course a million more for omni people. The breakfast is also super ballin'. Their pancakes are huge and you can get so many different versions. My only big complaint is their french toast isn't very interesting, and often they add sour cream to their home fries (wtf?). Anyway they also have a dessert case that gives me a lady boner when I walk in because I want to eat everything inside. I took one star off because I agree the service here is hit or miss. I noticed they are *always* getting new servers - and they all have either some kind of attitude or can be super slow. But you know what ? Whatever, I bet working in a diner sucks. The food is super good. They've never given me an attitude at the front counter about splitting checks, and they have a loyalty card so that once you spend 500 points you get a free meal.
