Scrambled Two Large Eggs with Breakfast Meat
    Daniel C.

If you live anywhere near Bloomfield, chances are you've driven past the Nevada Diner at least a dozen times and said, "We've gotta try that place." Well my wife and I finally did. After years (yes, years) of the classic "next weekend" promise as we cruised by, we officially pulled into the parking lot and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. Walking in feels like stepping into the kind of diner that stars in its own feel-good movie. Warm, welcoming, and buzzing with that comforting breakfast energy, the gentle clinking of coffee cups, the hum of happy conversations, and the smell of bacon working overtime on the grill. We went all in on breakfast because when you're at a Jersey diner, that's just what you do. The coffee? Hot, strong, and seemingly bottomless. My wife ordered a classic breakfast platter, and I went for a hearty omelet that was so fluffy it practically needed its own pillow. Crispy home fries, perfectly cooked eggs, and rye bread toast that was delish! a true breakfast balancing act. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and flat-out delicious. And the service? Top notch. Friendly, attentive, and on point without ever feeling rushed. Our server made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. Coffee refills appeared like magic, our food came out quickly, and every interaction had that genuine, neighborhood diner warmth that makes you want to stay for "just one more cup." Prices were reasonable too! UUF! Lol!!! Honestly, we couldn't believe we waited so long. We've driven by the Nevada Diner countless times, but now that we've finally stopped in, it's officially in our breakfast rotation. Lesson learned: when a diner has been calling your name for years, answer it. If you're in Bloomfield and craving a breakfast that feels like a warm hug (with a side of perfectly crispy bacon), do yourself a favor and pull into the Nevada Diner. Just don't wait as long as we did.

Great diner, fantastic service. Old school jersey interior and menu. My friend and I got a wrap and a club sandwich. We also got mozzarella sticks - where do you go wrong? The French onion soup while tasty - had half a burger bun in there instead of some regular bread. Still good but just wish the bread was different. The side salad served with the wrap was literally just lettuce. The sandwiches themselves were very tasty. There's a nice outdoor section and a huge parking lot.

Located on Broad Street in Bloomfield, this family-owned and -operated establishment has served the community since 1981. The Nevada Diner is a multipurpose dining facility that functions as a restaurant, bar, and bakery all at once. The Nevada is only one of four successful businesses owned by the Nissirios family: The Pompton Queen Diner on Route 23, the State Line Diner in Mahwah, and Stamna Greek Taverna in Bloomfield.   My friend, her daughter, and I decided to have lunch here. Upon arrival, it was clean, modern, and bright with the vibe of Las Vegas in its artwork, murals, and more.   Their menu was extensive, and they have everything one wants in a diner with the prices reasonable and many daily specials in each category. We decided on one of the lunch specials, the Jack Daniel's Burger, accompanied with soup (matzoh ball) and dessert (jello with fruits), the Classic Cheeseburger, and the Tex Mex Turkey Burger. All came with crispy hot fries. Complimentary dill pickles and coleslaw began our meal. The food was delicious, freshly made, served hot, and didn't skimp on the portions. Our server was fast, friendly, and attentive.   We can't forget their amazing bakery known for their cheesecake, which comes in a variety of flavors like red velvet, cannoli, and baklava for the next visit, which we can recommend.

Had a lovely meal here! The restaurant was cozy and had a great vibe. The waitress was friendly and prompt when taking our order. I loved how they had a vegetarian section on the menu that had many vegan options. I went with the superfood bowl and I loved how hearty and fresh and filling it was. I also got the mocha banana latte with almond milk and enjoyed the flavors and decadence of the drink. I felt very invigorated after the meal!

The food was absolutely delicious! I didn't really love the waitress though, she was very distant and sry. Maybe she was having a bad day??? Still gave her a good tip but wish she was a little more engaging and friendly. We will def be back!

    Chicken taverna

Nevada diner is one of the most authentic diners in the area. From the moment you walk in you are treated with a smile. They have a great outdoor space perfect for those summer nights fully stocked with with a bar and TVs. The food comes out fast and it's truly plentiful. I cannot finish an entree and always have leftovers. The chicken taverna specifically is one of those dishes you would crave for days. It's chicken on the bone perfectly grilled on the charcoal with a delicious citrus marinade. It comes with lemon potatoes but I switched to Greek fries. My kids always order the filet of sole franchaise over rice pilaf. It's lemony soft and so juicy.

I order their chicken sandwich and truffle fries and they were OK. The truffle fries were good, and you do get a lot, I think it would've been nice if they added some herbs on top as most places do as it gives it a nice taste. The chicken sandwich was very average and the chicken itself was a bit dry. I think maybe I'll give it another try for a night where I just want some drinks and a pizza as that seems to be what most people go with at this establishment .

This one pound mozzarella stick definitely fulfilled that criteria. It was so gigantic it was almost like getting a workout in just to lift it. The outside was heavily breaded with bread crumbs and the top was sprinkled with parmesan cheese and chopped scallions. Even the dipping cup was supersized to accommodate the diameter of the stick! Typically, I would have posted until after my I finished my oversized food compilation project. However, it's being posted early because The Brookdale is permanently closing its doors. I am truly sad to hear they will no longer be in business, but their three sister restaurants at 1109 Broad Street will still remain open. #thebrookdale #thebigcheese #bloomfieldnj

But after I gave it another shot later, I realized they take online orders. The estimated time here does seem to be off though, as I showed up about 5 minutes before the ETA and it was already sitting around being less hot. So maybe estimate picking up even earlier than that. When I came, the place was packed, but it was a game night. The kitchen/pick up area is way in the back, but I will say, their hot pretzel is fantastic. The flavor itself is good and crunchy, but with the cheese sauce, it was truly delectable. It was just pure thick cheddary liquid goodness. It also came with a mustard if you're that sort, but just the combo of pretzel and cheese makes for such a good and quick snack. They also have a trivia night promotion, so I'm interested in checking that out, but for bar food (even to go) is pretty solid.

We walked in and sat at the near-empty bar and were soon greeted by the bartender (woman with long brown hair), who also provided us with menus. After a few minutes, she circled back, and we ordered two glasses of water. Just seconds after ordering the waters, we were asked for ID. Unfortunately, I left my ID in my jacket, which I didn't have with me at the time, so I explained this to the bartender. We were then told that we could not sit and eat without ID (which I have never heard of in any restaurant I've been to... EVER). I left without making a big deal of it since I was hungry from my drive. Stopped here again on Saturday, May 16th, around 9 PM to meet up with friends before leaving Bloomfield for the night. We were told we could sit where we liked and were quickly attended to by one of the servers upon entry. I ordered a water, and my friend ordered the Six Points Burger with fries. This time, we were not carded until we decided to order beer/drinks. Additionally, there was a child in there, no older than 12 years old, eating with a parent/caregiver on this evening- ultimately proving the whole 'you need an ID to eat here' thing false... What can I say about Six Points after these two experiences?... There's a lively crowd in the evening times, and food seems decent, and it's in a prime location on Bloomfield Ave... but it's quite evident that (at least) one of their bartenders is prejudiced and seems to have issues with people of color simply trying to sit and order food. *I called Six Points on May 18th and asked to speak with a manager regarding my experience. I left my number with one of the employees who answered, and he also told me I would receive a call back- sadly, that never happened. To clarify, the employee acknowledged that my experience on April 18 should not have occurred, as I should have been allowed to order food. Lesson learned: Just go to Egans or Just Jakes in Montclair instead of Six Points Pub.

Cool atmosphere, great energy, and good food! I also got super lucky with Hailey as my waitress. She sold me on just about every item on the menu... to the point where I completely handed over the decision-making to her. Yup, that's right, I told her what I liked and trusted her to pick my three dishes. And listen, when your name is on the menu for crafting a cocktail, I'm going to trust you to pick my meal too! Now for the food: the grilled octopus was amazing. Great flavor, perfect texture, and a really nice balance with the lentils. The shishito peppers were delicious, and the sauce that came with them added the perfect pop of flavor. The beet salad, however, was a little underwhelming. Unfortunately, it didn't have much flavor, so that one left me a bit disappointed. And then there was dessert. Oh man! Hailey did it again. She brought out the sweet corn cheesecake. Sounds weird, I know, but I had to try it. And yes, it definitely had sweet corn! It was a little too weird for my taste buds, but I'm glad I tried it.... Then came the Madeleines. Bite-sized, warm, and absolutely delicious. Fair warning: if you don't tell them to take the bowl away, you WILL eat the entire thing. Man oh man...so good!!! Overall, a really fun experience with a great atmosphere, good food, and a waitress who genuinely made the experience memorable. Kudos to Hailey for the great service and for knowing exactly what to recommend! She definitely made my night.
