He and his partner took their time to explain their assessment of the problem (original pour of concrete was not dense enough to resist effluorescence in addition to possibly contaminants being excreted by the concrete as well). Talked through several options for repair/reconstruction with a range of costs, and also got a realistic assessment of likelihood of success. Very professional, no sales pitch. After talking with a number of other contractors about the same issue, I was thinking that an epoxy stone overlay may be the most cost effective approach to solving my problem. As I was so impressed with Art, I called him to get his opinion. Even though that particular option wasn't one he could currently offer, he spent the time to talk it over with me, explained the process and some pros/cons, and in the end gave me his overall impression that it probably would be a good choice. A true professional. Even though I'm not going with him for this particular job, will definitely refer my friends and keep him in mind for any future needs.

However, I am now fed up with the constant bombardment of having them stop by my house repeatedly asking to do it. A young man came by a few weeks ago and knocked on my door (I believe his name is Henry). When I did not answer he rang the doorbell. When I came and answered the door, we spoke briefly and I explained that I was busy working from home. He was very polite and I asked for his business card and said I would speak with my husband later and get back to him to schedule a time to have them come back. We had every intention of hiring them again to seal the asphalt! I go back to my desk to work and after a little while I hear another repeated HARD knock on the door. Startled, and in the middle of working, I get back up and answer the door to see him there again. I then tell him the same thing "I work from home, you are interrupting me and I said I have your business care and I will call call you later - thank you". He came back TWO MORE TIMES THAT SAME DAY!!! I finally said, "you are losing my business." A few weeks go by and today he came back again and knocked several times. I had to step away from an important international zoom meeting with clients after repeated knocking at my front door. I said "Henry, I am in a meeting" and then closed the door and went back to work. A couple hours later, he is back knocking. At this point I feel disrespected and very irritated. I would have hired them, but my husband and I are now so annoyed that we do not want to give them our business. He is honestly VERY lucky my husband wasn't home as he is a lot less patient than I am. We are busy business owners. Please don't ignore me when I say "I will get back to you when it is convenient for me".

After viewing the work that morning, Bill sent the estimate that afternoon, and said that if we all were in agreement he could have his crew out the next day bright and early. The next day the crew showed up at 6am and begun work immediately. I have the say the crew from Henderson Masonry was really the differentiator. We received excellent communication from them each step of the way, and they checked in with me a couple of times throughout the morning to ensure they hadn't missed anything. Their workmanship was also top notch; they took care not only in doing the project but also in cleaning everything up after themselves. In the end they were able to fix our brick planter, patch some stucco on our house and tuck point and reface a few broken cinder blocks in our backyard wall. I tried calling the office and have yet to have any of my calls returned. The only reply received was from an email asking for the deposit back when they said they would send it out.
