So i went in here tryijg to get a crossover cable for my jonda generators. i have been oit of power for 3 days from the hawk fire. my phone djed on the way to the store and i was unable to transfer funds. i asked the store if i could borrow their charger and said i habent had powrr in 3 days. they could care less. they wouldnt let me borrow a charher for 10 minutes. they where so clueless it was as if the fire isnt even happeneing. take your business and money ANYWHERE else but here. theres a reason the store is always empty. read more

We purchased a Honda generator a year ago. We hardly used it. It would not start. It had a two year warrant, so we brought it back to Nevada Power Products for warranty repair. They took it apart, and left it that way, and told us it was unrepairable due to bad gas. The manager, Larry Duerr, was horrible to deal with. I then took it to Sierra Repair & Sharpening. They repaired it in no time and the warranty covered it. It runs perfectly now. Do not trust Nevada Power Products. I will not purchase anything from them again. read more

I've been shopping around town for a tractor and this was a must stop location, as they are the Kubota and John Deere dealer for Reno. I walked in and was "greeted" by a very uncaring employee who acted like I was a waste of time. When asked for a price sheet, he said" we don't do those, you have to build it". Ok, very strange business practice. Another employee then came out and said "about $X amount for the Kubota, and add $3k to that for the John Deere. No tractor info, no contact information, no real price and no care in the world if I did any business there. Featherlite (Mahindra tractors), S&W Tractor (KIOTI) and Bobcat of Reno all went out of their way to give me all the information on the tractor I was interested in, gave a detailed price sheet with financing options if needed, and walked me around showing me the tractors. I highly recommend these other business or an out of town Kubota/John Deere dealership for your tractor/equipment needs. read more

This business is horrible. I asked them to order a part for my Honda outboard. They are the only local dealer for Honda. The person answering the phone said no we won't order for you. I called auburn Marine in Loomis Ca and they ordered the part for me. I would not recommend Nevada Power Products for anything. This is not the first time I encountered poor service. The first was on my Honda weed wacker I bought from them several years ago. It needed a new fuel line and they could help me there either. Don't waste your time here. I like Honda but the next purchase I make won't be Honda because of this place. On top of that they are not willing to answer any technical questions (probably because they don't have the knowledge) and if fact get rude when questioned about details. read more

We needed a new snowblower that would throw the snow over our giant berms during this historic Tahoe winter. My husband picked out a Honda, and we initially thought it was backordered until Fall 2023 But Nevada Power Products found one for us, ordered it, and it showed up in a week. When we went to get it (just as another atmospheric river was starting), we showed up at the Carson store about 20 minutes from closing only to find out we'd mistakenly ordered from the Sparks store, more than a half hour away. The gentleman at the Carson store kindly called and sent a text to Sparks to make sure they knew we were coming first thing in the morning to pick it up. To make extra sure it wouldn't get sold from under us, my husband called them himself after we left. That's when Nevada Power Equipment went above and beyond by telling us to keep driving to Sparks, even though we'd arrive after their closing time. We made it, the two gentlemen who helped us were friendly, efficient and helpful, and my husband got to buy the John Deere hat he'd been coveting for years, as the icing on the cake. The cherry on top of the icing is that they'd not only assembled the snowblower but gassed it up and greased the turning mechanism on the chute. We tried it out as soon as we got home, and it works great! Happy husband, happy life. Recommend these guys wholeheartedly. You won't find this kind of service at Home Depot, so keep it local. read more

I ordered a boat motor from them with install. It took 6 months for them to install it. In that time they did not charge the batteries, so both were shot. They damaged the break away brake system and ran that battery down, so it was shot as well. Last week I finally got to take the boat out for the first time and found out they ran the steering cable backwards so the steering was opposite of how it should have been. After that I spent my weekend tying up the wires they left hanging under the boat so it wouldn't catch on my trailer when I loaded it. On top of that they charged me a extra $2000 to get my boat back from them over the original quoted. read more

I brought in a generator for repair. When I contacted them for the status of my generator, I was told that they cannot find my generator. Nevada Power refuses to compensate me for the lost generator. If you deal with this company you will most likely be scammed. read more

If there was a a negative star, I would give that. This company is terrible. I took in my portable generator to get it serviced. After having it there for several months, I called to find out the status of the generator. They could not find it. It just disappeared. After trying to get reimbursed for the stolen generator, they refuse to answer my calls. If you take equipment to be serviced here...do so at your own risk. read more

It had been a few winters and the snow blower is still going strong with zero maintenance, although I will take it in after this season to have it services. I shared the snow blower with my neighbor Brian who lives across the street with a broken Honda snow blower after 22 years of service. I recently brought my Kubota B3350 to the Sparks facility to have the regen system codes fixed. after spending $450 to get it towed down there and they did a diagnostic they told me they didn't know what to do. they could not clear the codes. they charge me $370 and through there hands up. I contacted Gold country tractor in Newcastle ,ca and was able to talk to a mechanic who told me of a "warranty process fix" from Kubota. I gave the info to Nevada power products and they just said "I don't know if we can deal with this" not thanks I'll check it out. the worst customer service I have had. read more

The owner of this company is a crook. I left my Honda Generator there for repair. I was called to pick it up after it was repaired. When I went to pick it up they couldn't find it. Three weeks later and the owner (Larry) won't take my calls. It seems that I'm out of a $1000 generator. I plan on going to small claims court and contacting the BBB. I wish I had read some of the other reviews on this chump. read more

They picked up my snowblower on 12-4-20 to sell on consignment. They sold it 2 days later per Zack (the employee that helped me) I was to pay them a 15% commission netting me $1445. It is January 10 and I have not been able to get my money. I have made multiple phone calls, and visited their business several times.. Each time I'm told the owner (Larry ) is not In but they will get him a message, but he is a very busy man. OH I was also told he is the only one that can give me my money. This I find out is not the first time they've done this, Kevin S (See his review) had the exact same experience. I have not given up on getting what they owe me, I'm pursuing other avenues at this time. read more

As with other customers, I too am dissatisfied with my experience at NPP. After purchasing a Honda Generator, on-line, my invoice said I would be contacted shortly to confirm availability and status of your product(s). A week went by, never hearing from them. So, I decided to contact them and they knew nothing about my $899 order. I started to become a little scared. I had to finally email them my invoice, showing them I had purchased a Honda Generator, on-line, on cyber Monday which appeared to qualified me for free shipping as I was charged $0.00. Larry the "President", avoided my phone calls and employees would lie saying he was out running errands, so I drove to the store to get his attention and Larry was there. I was given every excuse in the book why they hadn't contacted me or shipped my Honda Generator with the final offer that I pay either the shipping (that was free) at the cheapest available (and would be the longest duration getting to me), or paying the sales tax that was not calculated in the sale because of out-of-state I assume; although the invoice showed "paid in full". I'm still fighting for my Honda Generator... So now it's up to you weather you want to do business with Nevada Power Products in Reno or Carson City and then wonder if you'll get what you paid for or if they will honor your warranty, or weather they will play the bait & switch game, as they've done with me... good luck! read more

I ordered a piece of John Deere equipment from these guys back in January or February (its been so long I forget). At the time they said the item would arrive "in April". Today is April 14th, and for the last two weeks I've called them every day or two to ask "when should I expect the item". The answer I get each time is something like "what's the exact model number? Oh, sorry I can't find it." or "oh, Larry is the only one allowed to look that up, we'll have him call you". Why isn't my name enough to look up an order? Larry never calls. Neither does anyone else. For two weeks. Just to answer a simple question. To be clear, I'm not complaining about Deere's delivery schedule, I'm complaining about the fact that these people won't provide answers to the most simple questions. The only thing I can conclude is that these guys are not interested in earning your business. read more

Negative stars if I could. Took my snow blower on consignment. I then purchased the most expensive honda electric start they had. You would think they would treat me like a customer. They sold my snowblower last December, here is is May 31 and I can't still get my money out of them. Been down there twice, can never seem to find the owner and employess " dont know where he is" and can't give me my money. Hmmm, I wonder how many people get this story and run around. I don't live anywhere near where they are, and the employees seem to say you got to try to catch here him. Its unfortunate they put, what was a good cutomer through this. It should not be my job to drive 25 miles one way to try to find if the owner is there or not to collect the money they owe. My only choice is smalls claims court at this time read more

I brought in my old Stihl BG85 gas blower that wasn't working- everyone was very busy but a guy that sits at the far right when you walk in said he would help me. He immediately grabed a few tools and took the spark arrester off and told me that I need to clean that and then showed me how to change the fuel filter- I was very happy and after going to a few other shops and getting no help this was really cool- the service is top notch and these guys are very friendly and professional - thank you so much for getting my old blower working !!! read more

Brian helped get me (well, my son) squared away with a lawn mower. He took the time to go over the details of the various models, and even lowered the handle so that my son could get a better feel for the models. He did not steer me to the most expensive model, but rather to the one that best met my needs - these guys shoot straight. All in all, I worked with three different gentlemen in the establishment, and all were friendly, knowledgeable, and patient during the purchasing process. Bottom line: I plan to return to this establishment to purchase a snow blower within the year. read more

Hi, I needed to buy a snowblower and couldn't get much help in my area. I called Nevada power products even though they were 160 miles away. I spoke with Joe a few times and had instant rapport with him. He suggested a new and used option for me and quoted firm prices. I drove to Reno today and met with Brad. Same deal, instant rapport. He showed me the new and used options and we discussed the pros and cons. I chose the new option. I got the full clinic from Brad while he serviced the blower for delivery. From show up to to drive away was less than 45 minutes. I got the machine I wanted at a price that made me smile and felt like I made 2 new friends. Employees like Brad and Joe are tough to find. Took my Husqvarna chainsaw in for a repair, told it would be 5-7 workings days which was fine. I got a call from the technician on the 4th day & he explained the problem and the cost to fix it. He wanted to know if that was OK, it was. He fixed it for a fair price and was ready for pick up an hour later. I went to pick it up and the technician Joshua took the time to explain the problem to me (how often does that occur). I brought a generator in to get serviced on Monday and told them I needed it back by the weekend. They said that was not a problem and they would start on it right away and it would be done by Wednesday. I called them to see how it was coming and they said they have not even looked at it yet and would not even be able to start on it till Friday and it would be the end of the next week to pick it up. I decided to go pick it up because I had to have it done by the weekend to use. To top it off, I go in to pick it up and the staff is standing around talking badly about ME to everyone else and did not know I was standing there. The way they handled this situation is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I would not recommend doing any business with them. read more
