Wandering to the different livestock pens and getting to pet the friendly cattle, goats, and sheep was a relaxing way to reconnect with nature. There are also chickens, pigs, and a llama that may or may not want to bring the drama, and also may or may not actually be an alpaca not a llama because I'm no expert. Lots of gourds and varieties of pumpkins to purchase. They offer hay rides and a maize maze. There were several food vendors, too. It was a bit dusty, as can be expected on a farm. Parking was available on the farm itself. Generator lights make it so you can continue the fun even after sunset. A lovely excursion right in town!

Ferrari Farms hosted goat yoga this month and I paid $20 to attend. The yoga session was hosted in the barn house in the back. There was plenty of space inside and a lot of people signed up for this event! The yoga instructor was very nice and so sweet to the goats. Once the yoga session started, there were workers that were going around and putting the goats around. I liked how all the workers tried their best to make sure everyone had a chance to play with the goats because the goats kept going by the door! The goats would leave poop around during the session and the workers did well with cleaning up quickly! The workers also brought in leaves for the goats to eat and would give them to some of us to feed them and it was a fun time! The yoga instructor was very chill because there were a lot of us that didn't pay too much attention and our attention was playing with the goats. After the session, we got to be free with the goats so I held one and I wanted to take him home with me! So cute! Overall, try goat yoga! Definitely recommend!

Had such a blast! It was so nostalgic since I hadn't been in a decade and it was like as if nothing had changed. The animals were so beautiful and friendly, my favorite was probably the sweet cow that caught me off guard with a big wet kiss! The staff, while limited in numbers, were kind and helpful! While there we got three tickets to the corn walk, the corn maze, and the hay ride which ran me about $60. We ended up doing just the hay ride and corn walk but got the okay to save our tickets to return for the corn maze. We also got 3 fantastic pumpkins, not the kind you can just pick up at the supermarket, a great stout own and two orange and green lumpy bumpy witchie looking ones! Overall the one thing i would change was being prepared with a sun hat or umbrella but since the whole family had such an amazing time i'm sure i'll have a chance to make that improvement.

Review for their Fall Festival -- Very cute set up and easy to find parking! Free admission is a huge bonus, but just know that you have to pay for other activities once you're in, like the corn maze. It's free to check out the animals to the left after you enter though! Cows, llamas, goats, sheep, pigs... all that you'd expect on a farm. It's a little on the smaller side, but honestly it was perfect for us and our baby, who was only interested in trying to eat hay off the ground anyway!

Such a great little patch! I have a toddler, so we're in and out of here in 30 minutes or less, no corn mazes for us just yet. The animals are all so friendly and fun to say hi to, especially the cows! They have a great selection of little vendor booths on the weekends and an awesome variety of pumpkins for purchase! Love that you can enter free of charge so the little ones can just wander around and burn some energy without burning a hole in mom's wallet!

A nice place to do a day outing with the family. There are animals to see, including goats, cows, emus, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens. In the front is a great selection of pumpkins, ranging in sizes. The corn maze is definitely something to check out! We got lost, but it was super fun. You can also take a hay ride around the property! On site they have a vendor who sells coffee products, as well as another one with Mexican food. Both are delicious! The pricing is affordable, the staff are always ready to help, and it's packed with fun...so check it out!

Ferrari Farms Fall Festival is our annual family tradition. My husband and I have come every year since 2013 and have had such fun bringing our daughter here the last three years. The admission is free and the pumpkins aren't a bad price either! We always pick little ones for about $2 - $3 each and it's so fun! We usually take time to visit with the animals before heading into the corn maze. In the past I've also experienced the movies under the stars, goat yoga (highly recommend!), sunflower field, and a hay ride. All of these have been a total blast! There really is so much to do, you won't be disappointed! They used to have carnival rides as well during the fall festival, but I didn't see any this year which I personally was okay with because I felt like they took away from the fun of the farm itself. Everyone on the staff is very kind and helpful in answering any questions you may have.

looking for something family friendly and perfect for all kids & not have to spend too much money this was a good place to take my son, Free admission, free to see farm animals, paid for a small pumpkin for my sons first time experience & spent $4 on it. $16 on two cups of coffee, which was great actually. all together spent $20, got plenty of pictures w/ my son. Definitely coming back next year for the corn maze and hayride!

One of our families favorite pumpkin patch for many, many years. This pumpkin patch has been around for several years and continues to be one of Reno's favorite. We love the staff, the variety of pumpkins, the prices and so much more! We come here annually and choose our pumpkins for carving! My kiddos love the corn maze and hay rides. Our realtors put a client appreciation day party at Ferrari farms every year and it's a blast!

Great spot! Fun petting the animals. The pumpkin patch and corn maze are awesome! Would definitely recommend!

    Blowup globe ball

This was a free event to enter and the boys had fun. The blowup was nice. She kept the families together. The hayride was horrible. All they did was drive around the old cornfield. No Halloween decorations, no pumpkin patches or scarecrows.. The tractor kicked up the dust and made us all cough. Not worth $5 a person. Maybe $5 for the family. The farm is old and there were some unsafe farm equipment out that kids could get hurt if they tripped on the uneven grounds. The had some displays that had sharp edges and rusty nails sticking out that someone could get hurt on. The animals were in old pens. The kids had fun and that was the important thing.

The animal area has been cleaned up and there are tons of working sinks to wash hands. You can purchase animal food, pony rides, and bottles to feed the animals. There is also a play gym, train rides, hay rides, trike races, zip lines, slides, dirt to shovel, and more. My three year old easily spent over three hours here and loved every minute. We will definitely be back in the fall!! My only suggestion to andelin farms is to add a fan in the baby nursing hut. It was very stuffy in there.

I was surprised to see how they pushed the entrance area past the barn, but totally makes sense for those who may want to just stop by to shop and not want to enjoy the festivities. The staff were all friendly and kept up with keeping the animal pens clear of poop, especially for the petting ones. They had signage to designate which ones you could feed the animal food to and which ones you couldn't enter due to the animals resting. I really liked how they sectioned off all the animals off to the left side with its own entrance and exit and lots of sanitizing and handwashing stations nearby. They had some new things at the farm too. I saw signage advertising Cuddling with Calves for $20 (kids 8+). They also had some additional calves to see and pet along the way. So adorable! Outside of the animal area, they had a new section, Peacock Pedalers, that allowed kids and adults to ride tricycles around. They also had refreshment stations within the farm for drinks, kettlecorn, and other snacks, which made it convenient. What surprised me was that the features that were typically busy on our past visits, like the mini zip lines and the barrel ride, were very little to no waits. They offered lots of seating for taking a break and grabbing some food from the three food trucks they offered. The pulled pork nachos were yummy! It was a great deal to spend the day at the farm for $20 tickets. Yes, they offered lots of additions like the animal feed, train tickets, and gem sluicing for a price but not really necessary to have a great experience. The baby chicks and goats were the highlight of our visit. My daughter wants to go back next weekend!

They have a huge selection of berries to for U-pick at their farm such as blackberries, loganberries, boysenberries, and even currants, which is a rare find. They have white, red, and black currants. Their picking is during a short period of time in the few weeks of July so a lot of things can get picked over the later you go. We went close to closing time at 2pm and it took a while to find the raspberry/loganberry area. We picked boysenberries, loganberries, and currants. We ended up picking too much and not realizing the cost was not just per bucket but per pound $5 each per bucket and per pound, so 3 buckets ended up being $80!! So it is pretty pricey. All of the berries were yummy and good, though I wish they had boxes or berry containers instead of plastic bags because in combination with the several pounds of weight in each bag with the 100+ degree day, a lot of the berries ended up getting smushed on the way home. That was a bit of a bummer, but I guess I'll use for smoothies. We'll definitely be back to pick more berries next year, but will be bringing a box and I would highly suggest doing the same if purchasing a large quantity.

American River Cherry Company was the perfect place to achieve all of the above. The drive from Reno to get to the farm was scenic. You drive through Lake Tahoe and the El Dorado National Forest, the same drive you would take to Apple Hill since they are basically in the same vicinity. If you're coming from Reno, you'll pass a beautiful waterfall just before you arrive that could be found right off the freeway on the left-Bridal Veil Falls, Pollock Pines. There's a pull over area where you can check it out up close. It flows year-round. Driving the streets to get to the farm was fun with winding roads covered by shade giving trees that lined the road. Upon entering the farm my eyes were caught by the beautiful "Homes & Garden" house blanketed with beautiful flowers, tall trees and freshly mowed green grass. You can find a hammock hung out in front- an ideal place for a nap. If you go down the hill to the left of the house, it will lead you to the pond where you will find the perfect picnic area, with a classic red picnic table & swing, lily pads floating, Koi fish down below, and dragon flies playing. My kids had fun running up and down the hills after picking fruit. After parking, we made our way to check in at the barn. Prior to arriving, I printed and filled out their liability waiver from their website to save time. At the barn, I loved that they took the time to supply sanitized pens so as to minimize the spread of germs. The workers (masked) were welcoming and gave us our buckets. As soon as we entered the farm, we were greeted with berries- berries to the left and berries to the right. The kids screamed with delight and set out to collect as many as they could. Further down you will find whimsical cherry trees creating a beautiful landscape. The available selections will depend on the temperature and pollinators so make sure to call ahead of time for more information. We went a couple of weeks after opening and found that lots of cherries had already been picked. I would suggest following them closely on their Facebook page to keep up with updates so you can catch them right when they open. The kids especially had fun collecting blueberries which were perfect in height and plentiful. I can't describe how special it is to be able to pick your own blueberries. There's no comparison with store bought berries. If you are travelling with little ones, it is especially helpful that you arrive early morning and early in the season to avoid hot temperatures. Just in case the little ones are only interested for a short while, you can find pre-picked selections at check in so you don't leave empty handed. At the end, we all had the time of our lives and decided to make cherry and berry picking at the American River Company a family tradition. Notes: *hand wash station available *Popsicles and honey for sale at check in *Berries are super fragile (esp. fresh picked) so if you can round up some clam shell containers from the store or Amazon, storing the berries in them would be the best way to transport and prevent damage *check out their website for varieties and prices *don't forget sunscreen, water, and hats *don't forget to check the weather to plan accordingly *If hungry, In-N-Out nearby *Boa Vista Orchards is a Apple Hill farm that is open year round if you're looking for goods-baked, packaged, frozen, fresh produce *They state that there is an entrance fee($5/person, 12yrs. and younger free) on their website but when we went, we were not charged. If charged, you may feel like you're not getting your money's worth, but I think the atmosphere and experience alone is worth the entrance fee and would gladly pay. *Koi fish feed available next to pond- bring quarters *Not too many parking spots in front of house so if lot fills up, park outside and walk up hill *keep cherries separate from berries due to the difference in price
