He's willing to recommend anything that could give you a higher quality of life. I will say that getting in contact with the office can be difficult, but there's only a couple of office staff serving their hundreds of patients and fighting my complicated insurance like mine, so I give them grace. I always have my next follow ups scheduled when I'm leaving the office, and I run into very little scheduling issues with that method.

I have NEVER been charged separately for an office visit and a CGM download in my entire 20 years of being a diabetic. I have had many endocrinologists over the years and have never had an additional charge for the doctor to review my CGM numbers with me?? Is that not included in the office visit charge? I had to contact my insurance company, their billing office, and finally office manager and they offered no resolution. I have no choice but to pay collections but I would NEVER return to this office because I genuinely feel scammed and taken advantage of as a patient. I will attach pictures, one charge billing code is for the office visit, the other is literally to download and review CGM number. Ridiculous, immoral, and UNETHICAL medical practices. Shame on you.

I stopped seeing her after she…read morediagnosed me with a mold problem where I was living (at the time I was living and caring for my 91 year old mother and my developmentally disabled sister). She told me I needed to leave my home because of the mold. Money was an issue with me at the time, obviously, and I was in absolute tears. Her only response was to quickly try to schedule AND CHARGE $$$$$ me for another appointment to discuss how we would deal the mold issue. No compassion at all for the situation I was in. About a month later, she sent out a letter to her patients saying she was "retiring". An ethical doctor would probably stop taking new patients if they were getting ready to retire. Why would you take on new patients if you knew you would not see them through the process of getting better? Then a couple months later she sent another email to her patients saying she wasn't going to retire, but was joining another practice. Something is just not right here. I am now seeing a functional medicine doctor in Montana that is wonderful and not money driven. A PIECE OF ADVICE FOR EVERYONE, YOU DON'T NEED TO SEE A FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE DOCTOR BASED IN OC. YOU CAN SEE MOST FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE DOCTORS VIRTUALLY AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND FINDING A DOCTOR OUTSIDE OF OC. The worst part is I just received a lab bill for $2500 that I never authorized almost one year after I stopped seeing her. I called her to try and help me rectify the bill and her new receptionist told me it was my problem. JUST TO CLARIFY READING HER RESPONSE. THESE ARE THE TESTS SHE RECOMMENDED AND ORDERED. NO TEST SHOULD HAVE BEEN OVER $500. SHE SENT ME TO THESE LABS. BE VERY CAREFUL OF HER "3RD PARTY CHARGES". I can understand how frustrating it is when labs send surprise charges, which is why I always recommend that patients try to find out from Quest and all other labs up front what all their charges will be. I never want anyone to experience the stress of unexpected charges. The $2500 bill was not from our office; it was from a lab where this patient chose to get testing done. The payments are handled by the lab and not by my office, so I'm sorry that I'm not able to help with 3rd party charges.

She put me on a binder to detox which was way too intense for me during that time. I could not handle the binder and had to stop taking it. I had to stop the treatment and she was not able to offer anything else. This was a waste of my time and money and was pointless. I know a lot about holistic health and natural medicine and looking back at that time in my life and healing process, that was WAY too soon to be put on a binder especially without even seeing me in person as we did a phone visit. She was happy to take my money for the appointment but it was a waste. Do not recommend. In fact, I recommend a much more gentle approach.

I have a co-pay, and I know how much I pay every time. They told me that I don't need to pay. One thing you have to be aware of is that if you do have a co-pay and don't pay on day of service, they will tack on an additional administrative fee of $15 plus your co-pay, if you get billed either by mail or email. Luckily, I had my insurance card with me, and it showed that I do have a payment due upon service. They looked at it, and realized that I need to pay. I avoided a huge headache on that one. The front office is completely incompetent, so be aware! I usually don't mind seeing my PA Ruth. She's awesome and professional, and usually sees me in a timely manner. The type of care I receive is standard, and I give that a 7 out of 10 score. So, it's the front desk that merits my whole visit, a solid 3 stars. And that's my whole experience of type of care, I received today.

Stay clear of this place! It is expensive and does not help with Gestational Diabetes…read more I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes and was referred here by my OB. I was also told it would be covered by insurance, it was NOT covered by my PPO due to the way that they bill insurance (see below). I went to 2 online group zoom calls with them. The meal plan they provided would make it nearly impossible to manage anyones glucose blood numbers by diet alone. I was not able to manage my glucose numbers until I threw out their meal plan and read Lily Nichols book called Real Food for Gestational Diabetes. In the book it gives more information than these classes ever provided, and a comprehensive meal plan. Allen Diabetes Center does NOT even manage your insulin prescription, they still send you to either a doctor to manage that for you. They just have you go to expensive group zoom calls. I also had a nightmare experience with billing from their office. We were billed $250 for EACH class. They billed my insurance as an outpatient hospital visit. We called our insurance and they said they would have actually covered it if it was billed correctly. We called Allen Diabetes Center and after 2 weeks of continually calling for an update, we were told they billed it correctly and each class is $250. Just for comparison, Lily Nichols book, Real Food for Gestational Diabetes is less than $25. And was incredibly effective at helping me manage Gestational Diabetes with diet alone. I hope this helps someone! This has been an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience. Which is the last thing you need when you are pregnant!

She carefully reviewed my labs (both functional and conventional), explained the findings clearly, and created a personalized plan tailored to my needs rather than a "one-size-fits-all" approach. What really sets her apart, however, is her ability to connect the dots while remaining compassionate and patient. Appointments never feel rushed, and she is consistently proactive about follow-ups and next steps. If you have felt dismissed by other providers or need someone who will genuinely investigate the root causes of your symptoms, Dr. Vreeland is exceptional. I stopped seeing her because I felt like I kept spending money but wasn't really improving health-wise. I was only getting my surface issues remediated. She's lovely, but she wasn't a great health practitioner for me.
