By going through New Autos Inc, we were able to get a 2014 Toyota Prius V for a lower price than any of the other dealerships in town, without any haggling. Ken was a nice guy who answered any questions I had. Two days after I turned in the car we traded in, I realized that I left a CD in the CD player, so Ken went and got it for me and had it waiting on his desk when I came to pick it up. The only reason this is four stars instead of five is that when our car did not arrive on the scheduled day, I did not receive a phone call. I contacted Ken the next day to ask whether the car had arrived, and it turned out the car was delayed several days due to an issue at the dealership that was selling it. It would have been nice to receive a phone call or email letting me know, since we were planning to pick up the new car "within 24 to 48 hours" as we were told by New Autos Inc. My boyfriend and I drove out from Oakland to New Autos Inc to look at a used Lexus IS 300. Chico was pretty far for us (three loooong hours) but we didn't mind it! The guy my boyfriend was emailing (Ken was the sales persons name) about the car prior to making the decision to drive out there was extremely friendly and answered all of his questions to the tee. He didnt once pressure us to come in, which is super refreshing since most used car salesmen are...well...rude. We got to the dealership and the car was already outside the door ready and waiting for us to look at. We did the full 360, got all our questions answered, then took it for a test drive. The salesman was extremely knowledgeable and even has his own garage at home where he fixes up cars, pretty cool! Long story short...they were willing to work with us to get the price we were able to afford and were super understanding and didnt pressure us at all. In fact at one point, he asked us if we wanted time to walk around and think about it, and if we didnt feel like it was a good deal then to be free to just leave and call him later! Absolutely stellar experience with this dealer. Just happened upon an ad for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma truck with low miles and decided to take a chance and drive from Sacramento to Chico to look at it. I usually only trust Carmax to purchase used. The truck was better than advertised and the staff at New Autos was extremely accommodating especially Noah and his manager. I made the drive back the next day and purchased the truck. I've since had it checked out by my mechanic and they gave it their seal of approval. I normally detest car shopping because of all the high pressure tactics and fast talk but you won't have to deal with that nonsense here. I love my new Audi Q5! There were a few bumps in the road to get it here but overall it was a very good experience. My sales associate, Jackie, worked with me to get me exactly what I was looking for. She was on vacation when the car arrived but another associate, Todd, stepped right in to make sure I received my car on the scheduled day and had all the paperwork ready to go. He even picked me up from my house to take me to their lot so I didn't have to uber there. My car was washed and I was given the red carpet treatment literally (see photo). I appreciated the full tank of gas as well. After driving it for a couple of days I went back in to get help on how to use the voice and navigation system. The owner, Bernie, was very patient and spent a good hour going over all the features with me. I was extremely grateful for this since the nearest Audi dealer is about 90 minutes away. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. You see, I've never actually written a yelp review. I'm like 95% of the rest of us who just google something and read what everyone else has to say. However, my experience with this place was so utterly atrocious that I had to write my first official review. So, the story goes like this. I had heard about New Autos Inc from someone who used them and had a decent experience. I thought "heck, car buying kinda sucks and if this takes the pain out of it, then sure, why not!" I called NAI a month ago and I spoke with James. I was still early in the buying process and exploring my options for what I could get with what I wanted to spend. I gave him a few ideas of makes/models and we discussed that some of what I was interested in was out of my price range. Nevertheless, he said that he would poke around and see what was out there in my price range and get back to me within the next day or two. In fact he said, "and if I don't get back to you by the end of next week, call a search and rescue team to come looking for me!" He took down my phone number and my email. A week went by. And then another week, and then a 3rd week. Seriously, I wondered if I should actually call a search and rescue team. So after nearly a month of no call, email, text, or idea if this place still existed, I took it upon myself to call back and attempt to work with someone else. You see, I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them a second chance. The second time around, I spoke with Ken. I immediately let him know the situation and that I had already spoken with someone, however, that someone had not returned my call or emailed me with anything. He apologized and asked what I was looking for. I gave him nearly the same "schpeel" that I gave James about what I was looking for and where I was in the buying process. He said "let me poke around and see what we can find and I will get back to you within a couple of days" (sound familiar?) I got off the phone and thought "great! I'm glad I gave these guys a second chance." 10 minutes later, Ken called back. He said "I see that you already were working with James, so he is going to take over and help you find what you're looking for." I said "but but but... can I work with someone else?" And he said "James will call you back very soon." I decided to hold out hope for the last and final time that someone would WANT MY BUSINESS! I mean come on now, I get it. I'm a woman, I'm picky about cars, I'm not totally 100% certain on what I want, and I have to buy something within a price range. But I also have a job, make good money, know what I don't like, and really wanted to do business locally. You can likely imagine where this story is going. James never called back. In fact, I had to call Ken a final time to make sure I got James' name right and to give him a heads up that a not so happy yelp review was in the works. My advice to anyone in Chico looking for a new car: While the concept of NAI seems easy and practical at first glance, these guys don't know how to run a business. Buying a car can be tricky and to do business with guys who can't even return not one but TWO phone calls back is a risky affair (heck, why do you think auto fraud lawyers exist?!) The car buying and selling business is shady - and gaining your customers' trust should be of utmost importance. It's as simple as that. These guys are shady, their business is shady, and as much as you wanted to go local like me, take your business to Roseville/Sacramento and save yourself the hassle of trying to fix a broken system. My advice to NAI: If you don't need the business, if you don't want the business, and/or if you don't want to work with a customer, by golly, JUST TELL THEM! There are plenty of competitors out there dying to take our money and put us in new cars. I get the whole "hands off, no commitment" approach you're trying to take, but in 2014, customers don't chase down their own business. "Superior customer service" just doesn't work like that. Especially not in Chico. This is a small town and most business runs off of word of mouth and personal referrals. I sooo wanted to give you guys a chance and to tell all my friends, family and coworkers to buy their next car from NAI. But sadly, that's not going to happen, and in fact, at the drop of your name, I'll tell anyone to run and hide. Maybe you rejected me because you didn't like my phone number or my raspy voice or my choice in cars - that I'll never know. But one thing is for sure - we're breaking up and this time, it's you and not me. read more

Worst Customer Service in Chico! I have purchased many cars from different dealerships throughout California. The people here are by far the rudest people I have possibly met. My mother and I came in to the dealership looking to write a check for the full amount of a consignment vehicle on the showroom floor. I wanted her approval on the car before making the investment. Apparently to James, that was a big joke. He rolled his eyes as I had to ask him to show my mother the car. Because of the horrid customer service, my mother and I left immediately. I would never buy a car from someone who has no interest in selling it. My mother called the sales manager about an hour and a half later to complain, but he seemed just as lackadaisical as James! I honestly do not know how this place has such great reviews, the customer service is awful and I pity the owner of the consignment car that is having people with such incompetence to customer service sell their vehicle.
