While i did have a specific vehicle in mind, which indeed makes the process more complicated, the problem was when all was said and done, I wasted five days of time and $60 on these people (gas money. Live out of town). I told them EXACTLY what I wanted, what the situation was, etc. I was assured by no less than 5 people that they could do what I wanted. I am not upset that we couldn't work out a deal. I am pissed because they knowingly wasted my time. I talked to people on the phone, filled out an application online, filled out a second on the phone. Never got a phone call back. Called them back myself, only to be told they would NOT pre-approve and we had to come in. We came in only to basically be told to go home and wait until Tuesday (this was Sat,) because the finance manager was off the next two days. So we waited. No phone call on Tuesday. We call them and leave direct messages with two people. 3 hours later... no return calls. When we finally did get a hold of someone, they told us that what we wanted to do would not work without a huge monthly payment. He gave specific reasons why based on mileage and vehicle age. Did he go home on his days off and study up? Here is my question: If you KNEW you couldn't do what we wanted under the circumstances, why didn't you tell us that on Saturday instead of putting us off for several days and then ignore us? It's not like you didn't know the outcome on Saturday. Thanks for wasting our time by lying just to get us in, then pushing us out the door with ZERO answers and no help, and then ignoring us when we tried to follow up. Very unprofessional and frankly, rude. Had you been honest and returned calls, we probably would have considered another vehicle and tried to purchase from you. Your customer service, and more importantly, your integrity is sub-par. Treat people better. Stop saying "yes" just to bait people into coming in. Try being honest. read more

Unfortunately my mother in law bought a vehicle from R&R. She got a Volvo from them a little over a year ago. That thing has been nothing but problematic since 2 weeks after we got it home. My mother in law is elderly and disabled, on a fixed income but takes care of several children during the day and needs a safe and reliable vehicle to use - they were told this, and they assured us we were in great hands. They asked us to make a review after the experience of purchase, as the purchase went well and they were friendly. They did misrepresent that the vehicle had a warranty. They did not disclose that it did NOT have a warranty until we had paid them the down payment money the day before, and it was the very last paper signed. 3 weeks in - it wouldn't start. It needed a repair in excess of $500 - mind you, the first payment on the car wasn't even DUE yet. So with the down payment and payments considered, that's ridiculous. HOWEVER, I will say that R&R did reimburse my mother in law for this repair after the fact. Since we brought the car home, there have been one problem after another. SO their triple check guarantee? No.. they're really just trying to band aid things to get you into the car. After it was home, the glue they put on the trim was beginning to come off and the trim was lifting, among other cosmetic quick fixes - but cosmetic as this is, we moved forward and glued it back down (it was obvious this is what was done). But not cosmetic; The car has dumped quarts and quarts of oil since we got it.. she was continuously having to replace oil lost. It has some sort of electrical short to one of the headlights causing it to continually blow the bulb (really, in a year we've bought 4 bulbs)... and sometimes it just shorts out and doesn't work, but then will work again later, then the bulb will blow. Now, the whole engine is shot. On a car she has had for 1 year 3 months. This isn't wear and tear from her driving, she barely drives anywhere other than to pick kids up from school and drop them off, and to Dr. appts. She has put well under 10k miles on it since she got it. She doesn't drive it hard and she makes sure the car is taken care of. She doesn't trust the car to go out of town, so will only go on short errands around town. Which is good, since the car no longer runs at all and had to be towed home and a ride arranged to transport her and 3 children home. Unfortunately, our thinking of Volvo as a sound and reliable vehicle ended up being a difficult thing - no one will work on them.. they're difficult as a "foreign" car... this part is not the fault of R&R; however, their team of repair agents only bandaid fixed things.. and after we got it home we realized this car sat for 2 years before we purchased it. So here she is, with months of payments remaining - and no car. The engine is shot, and therefore she wont be able to fix it. No way to get a car, cannot afford another down payment on a car.. she owes like $2400 and several months of payments on this car, that doesn't drive and she can do nothing with. I make this post because they always ask you to make a great review, sometimes with incentives, after purchasing a car.. usually people are quite happy to do so as they have been happy with their experience. So were we for a couple of weeks; it's been a nightmare since then. Buyer Beware... there are many other dealerships that will give credit and warranties and stand behind their vehicles - R&R is not your only choice. read more

Bought a mercury mountaineer from these people had a couple of issues with it when I bought it 2 years ago and they go though American Leasing for financing these people are rude from the gate but that's a different story. So last week the transmission dies (they have known issues) I called them they say ok we will tow it here and get it checked out for you . I asked about a loaner because it's my only vehicle and I have a family Mary says call me back tomorrow and I'll see what I can do . So I call and she gets rude with me saying well if you weren't behind in payments maybe we could give you a loaner (payment was only a couple of days past due) I let that slide I borrow a car and drive from paradise to Orland to pay my payment and get a update on the truck they want to defer my usual payment and want me to come up with 800 up front and apply for financing for the rest. I explain I can't afford that now and am informed that this is part of owning a car and I should have been prepared for it. Who has 2,800$ laying around these days?? Give me a break! Serpentine fan belt broke on I-5 near Orland, drove to R&R to install new belt. (11/17/2014) Belt was installed, had shop check for possible cause of belt breaking and slipping off. New belt was installed but was told that the water pump and fan clutch were defective, told not to drive P/U. The cost to replace water pump, thermostat and fan clutch was over $750.00. I drove truck around corner and inspected the water pump and fan clutch, could not find problems with either one, I also checked the alignment of fan belt to grooves in crank pulley, tensioner and idler pulley's. I drove from Orland to Weed/Mt. Shasta and rechecked serpentine fan belt, a distance of 130 miles. I had a auto repair shop in Mt. Shasta check the serpentine fan belt for wear and alignment of belt, could not find any problems. I returned to R&R 3 days later and expressed my concerns to Chris, the acting manager and told him of my displeasure of the diagnosis, he quickly returned the charge for the diagnosis. He then brought in the master tech and he told me that the crank pulley grooves caused the belt to fray and fall off. He insisted that when he installed the new serpentine fan belt, it kept slipping off.(3 times). Yet, I did drive the 130 miles with no problems with the new serpentine fan belt. Now I had different stories, what about the $750.00 charge for replacing the water pump and fan clutch, now it's the crank pulley? I have filed a complaint to the BAR and maybe they can help with making sure that other motorists will not be in the same situation as I was in. ps, I am the owner of a auto repair shop in the Bay Area, been in the business since 1975, still active. read more

We walked away. Felt that they preferred having customers with bad credit that were uninformed, naive, and not familiar with buying a car. They showed me a credit report that was not accurate, had us come back after we agreed on a price then raised the price. Were sketchy about interest rates, and gave a terrible rate. Raised the price of the car to try and make up the difference with the interest increase. Had us there for over 2 1/2 hours. Owner tried to tell us that dealer blue book is different than the numbers we see. We had already researched it and knew the vehicles cost. All untrue, but we just let him think he had us convinced. I left, called my bank direct. Got a 2.9% interest rate and bought a new truck in Chico for $500 over dealers (true) invoice. The one that comes off the truck with the vehicle, and was in and out in 1 hour. And thats how its done. Don't get screwed, be informed. However.... The very nice guy that was trying to help us ( Chris) was awesome. he was honest, polite and knew we knew what we were doing. It was just his bosses that obviously were not wanting to sell a car, and talked to us as if we had no clue, and that's when we left. read more

Do not buy from R&R auto sales Orland/Chico. They pray on people with bad credit. They mark there cars up WAY! over Kelly blue book value. If you have bad credit it is one thing to take or except a high interest rate from the bank 15%-24%, that is to be expected. It is not ok to mark a car up $4k-$7k over blue book value and tell the consumer it is because of bad credit. There is no justification for a high interest rate and to charge the consumer that much over book. Dealerships like this are screwing the consumer twice and not setting them up for success for rebuilding there credit like they claim. Also on my deal there was an extra $1,760 after sale price, tax, title, lic, reg, etc, when I asked what it was for. Jaime Gamboa my salesman, explained to me that it was for a warrenty that I had NO option to opt out from because the type of financing. My answere to him was that the state of California requires you the "dealership" to Warrenty the vehicle usually 3 months or 3k miles. so why am I being charged for it? That is when I walked away never to return. save your money and give it to some one who is willing to work and compete for your business.
