Let's hope this turns out better than it starts. It's my third time at Wittmeier for service and I've got little patience for their poor service. My Chevy Volt ( yes I'm a little embarrassed to drive the Volt in the land of "Big" trucks) has the engine light on (charge system needs service). So I make an appointment for drop off at 1:30, show up at 1:30, service advisor makes me wait, parking lot guy tells my son to move his car (my ride home) over to the parking lot out in the rain. After the advisor gets around to helping me they promise a response by end of the day. So at 5 I call the advisor and he says they could not get to it today. Promises by 10 tomorrow. Let's see what happens, and yes I have little faith in Wittmeier. Day 2- no call back by 10, I called them and the service manager said he had no information. Then he said they need to do a recall update regarding low power due to cell. The message on dash said to check the high voltage charging system. They seem different to me. He also said he'd call back in 10 minutes but here we are 45 minutes later and... End of day 2 - car is fixed, poor communication by the service manager so patience and persistence were my friend. The was no cost out of my pocket but in the end the dealer did loose more than Dan can understand. This seems petty but I expect more and last time my Suburban was at Wittmeier they did such a poor job mgmt had to rectify the situation. A while ago I worked for a company that believed every customer should be reference able. That stuck with me and I choose that over just ok. read more

My service advisor: Dan (Daniel) Simmons I brought my truck in for a basic oil change and tire rotation, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish at Wittmeier Chevrolet. Scheduling was a hassle -- the online system requires you to submit your info for a call‑back, but no one ever called. I tried twice over a 4 day period before giving up and calling in, only to sit on hold for 15 minutes. When I arrived, the service staff watched me pull in but didn't come out. I had to go inside and wait another 10-15 minutes just to get fully checked in. A simple oil change and tire rotation took nearly two hours. The waiting area is tiny and not suitable for anyone who needs to work while they wait. After the service, I found full handprints on all four fenders from the tire rotation -- and those spots are now scratched into the paint. No one mentioned it, and no apology was offered. When I completed Chevy's review request and didn't give perfect scores, the service advisor emailed me to complain that my honest feedback "costs the dealership thousands of dollars," instead of addressing the damage done to my vehicle. This was not a professional or customer‑focused experience. P.s. right before jumping into my vehicle and leaving after the service the advisor did come out as basically told me to give him all 10's if I get a review request from Chevy. If I do it's like a "I scratch his back he will scratch mine" type of deal where he will give me service discounts or coupons. However I would not take my truck back there after this experience. Hence the lower review rating. Advice: get better at taking care of customers offering quality service instead of trying to fake it. read more

I have a prior experience with Wittmeier where I felt completely talked over and disrespected by the sales agent who approached me, the car buyer, to only make eye contact and conversation with my husband. I went back after YEARS of hoping there'd be some staff turnover and change with the times, today. Turns out: nope! It is the same awful, customer "service" I remember from years ago with new, young males. I asked my husband to stay in the car with our daughter and exited our vehicle to chat with the man who walked up to the car. I quickly and simply explained what I was looking for in a new vehicle and his responses were literally, "nah, we don't have anything like that. Maybe the... *insert sports car that was the polar opposite of my request* but otherwise, you're out of luck." No attempt at seeking more information from me to help me find something more appropriate. Once again, I was met with instant denial, rudeness, and incompetence. I don't love writing bad reviews but this place is just the worst kind of business. I would rather ride my bicycle across the states than buy a car from these tools. Yikes! They've proved their company practices are built on misogyny and rudeness for years, now. Go literally anywhere else. It's not worth the awful experience, I promise. read more

A friend has a zero emissions car so he had to buy a new catalytic convertor from the dealer. After driving it under a hundred miles it started acting up again and he asked me to look at it. When I touched the exhaust behind the Cat it was loose and then I put a light above it and saw the inner pipe was broken. He went back to Wittmeier for an inspection and was told there's nothing wrong with it. Luckily we can replace the flex pipe with an aftermarket for cheap. Wittmeier is a waste of time and money I'm sold on the drive to go somewhere else to spend my money. read more

We told them what we wanted as far as interest rate, payments, car price and they went back and forth so many times, we eventually left without a car. I was visiting friends in Chico and my 2021 Chevy Bolt was having battery problems. I made an appointment to bring it to have it checked out. After waiting about two hours which I expected the service rep advised me that the hybrid battery was completely gone and that if I wanted them to open the case in Chico I would have to bring the car back to them to have it fixed and I live in Auburn. He said that it could take about a year to get the battery and that he couldn't help me because I did not want to leave my car in Chico. I asked him if it was safe to drive the car. He couldn't tell me. he said that AAA was across the street and I could go sign up and maybe have my car towed to Auburn. I asked if he could coordinate opening a case with the dealer in Auburn to take my car. He said that wasn't possible. I had a choice at this point to try and drive the car back to Auburn knowing that it would only charge up to 50 miles. my other option was to find somebody to tow it to Auburn and pay for the cost myself . I ended up getting the car to Wheatland, but the chargers at the stop I made were not working. I was stranded and waited over four hours for OnStar to make arrangements to come get my car. They never did come and I called a tow service myself and they agreed to come get my car and bring it to Auburn. Old School Towing was efficient and helpful. I had to file a claim with GM OnStar to get the tow fees refunded. I felt like Wittmeier Chevrolet could've been more proactive in helping me. read more

Because I drive a company car and the Fleet department decides on who does repairs, I'm forced, once again, to use Wiitmeier. Where to begin? The service is so far below average, it's laughable. The mechanics are no where close to friendly and the work they do (try to do) is remedial at best. They had two weeks to fix the engine light issue, a cracked windshield and a GPS screen freeze. I got it back after 13 days and the windshield (though replaced) now rattles loudly on the freeway, the GPS screen freezing is still occurring, and the engine light came right back on. So, here I am again. Sitting in the waiting room, doing just that; waiting! 30+ minutes for a ride to get my rental car, they tell me. Did I mention the last bill was well over a thousand smackaroos, not counting the rental car bill? So grateful my company picks up the tab, but I feel genuine sympathy for the poor customers who have to pay these outrageous bills themselves and get their vehicles returned with the issues still in place. My final thoughts on WittMeier in Chico? Me thinketh they sucketh. read more

I tried to buy a vehicle - for the 2nd or 3rd time over the past 15 years or so - but was quickly reminded that Wittmeier thinks that they are the only dealership in the universe, there is no competition, and thus they can sell cars for whatever price they want. Plus, apparently there is no "internet" for comparison shopping in Wittmeier Land. I was looking at a 2020 Chevy in early 2021, so I was expecting that they would be anxious to move this "leftover" vehicle at a heavily-discounted price. The MSRP sticker price was about $35,000, but several dealers in Sacramento had identical 2020 models on their lots with ADVERTISED prices of about $25,000. And many of the Sacramento dealers seemed eager to further discount that $25,000 price to move this old inventory. I was nearly certain that I could get this vehicle for well under $25,000 if I would drive to Sacramento. However, I normally go out of my way to shop locally. So, I visited Wittmeier here in Chico (and about 1967, I think) and asked if they could match ANY of the Sacramento dealers' prices. I wasn't asking them to do anything beyond that; just match any of these 3-4 advertised, in-writing prices, and I'll gladly buy. Instead of directly saying "No", they gave me all the classic, total bullshit lines to sell the car, including "The benefit from buying from us is the post-sale service." So, if I pay $10,000 more than Sacramento prices you'll help me set the stations on the radio or something? I wasted a couple of hours over a few days before I remembered that Wittmeier is, somehow, under the impression that they have a monopoly on Chevrolets and Hondas. Silly me. After walking away from Wittmeier-in-the-1960s, I spent a couple of hours texting/emailing/calling the 3-4 Sacramento Chevy dealers. About a week later I had the car - DELIVERED to me from Sacramento at NO charge! - for about $22,000. read more

Cant belive how they can pull this garbage on people. I brought my 2015 F150 in for service. I needed an oil change and needed my brakes looked. I fully expected to have new front brakes. I also asked to have the wipers replaced. I get my truck back and when I got home I went over the service report. These guys charged my 152.21 to replace my wipers. WTF! It was only 52.33 for an oil change. How in the hell do these guys sleep at night ripping customers off like that. Last time I'll go there. I wouldnt even buy a new vehicle from them. Made an appointment to come look at a used truck on a Saturday. Was contacted by internet sales asking if would still be coming and I confirmed as I was driving from an hour away. When I arrived the truck I came to look at was sold ‍. Looked at a couple other ones and was pressured into running finances on one of them. The usual car sales back and forth ensued but I was unable to make a deal, no big deal. Was looking at trading a vehicle in and they took the registration and keys to value it. They forgot to give me back the registration which I didn't realize until was home. Multiple emails and calls went unreturned when asking for my registration. What has happened to Julio at Wittmeier Chevrolet? The best service writer in the business. When I arrived at Wittmeier Chevrolet I thought they must be closed. I couldn't see in the windows and no one came out to greet me. We have purchased 8 commercial vehicles and 4 personal vehicles from Wittmeier. It used to be when someone drove into the service department under the big roof a service writer would come out to greet you and ask how they could help. They had a cart outside with the cones with numbers on them to identify your vehicle, put a paper mat on the floor, put a plastic sheet over the seat and ask if we needed a ride. This time no one came outside to greet me and no cart. I waited to see if anyone would come out. I'm 66 years old, retired and have the time to test them. WHERE IS JULIO? Finally a man walked up and as he went into the building, he turned and asked as if he was bothered "Do you need something?" WTH! Why else would I be parked in the service area? I asked "Do you not come out to greet your customers anymore to write a service ticket? He mumbled something unintelligible and I asked him to repeat what he said. He said, "aaaahhhh, noooo, I guess not." As if busted by his mom for stealing. I followed him into the service department and he sat down like it was his only mission in his life. He asked me what I wanted and told him I needed an oil change and a lube job done. I informed him I use synthetic oil in the diesel engine. He was blown away at that comment. He advised me they don't have synthetic oil and he had never heard of using synthetic oil in a diesel engine. Again, WTH? The attitude of this service writer has almost lost Wittmeier Chevrolet a very loyal customer from the service department. I can't trust what kind of service I will receive if this person is involved. Note to: Daniel Simmons Chevy Service Advisor 530-895-8181, Shape up. Do your job. Try to be friendly. After buying my last few vehicles at a dealership in Oroville, my wife and I were ready to buy a new truck, but could only find the truck that I wanted at Wittmeier Chevy in Chico. The buying process was what is expected, a bunch of negotiating and the dealership trying to add in a bunch of extra cost that I did not want. After taking about 4hrs to make the purchase, and taking delivery the next day, I immediately found a few problems that needed to be addressed. I made an appointment and took the truck in to them a week later for 3 adjustments / repairs. After dropping off the truck, i was told at least 4hrs for the repairs, so I was surprised that after just an hour that I got a call that the truck was ready to be picked up. Once I arrived at the dealership and was given the keys and inspected the following, I first found that my tow hooks had been adjusted. Second, I found that my malfunctioning blinker had not been replaced, because they could not simulate the problem in the shop. Third, I found that my broken cowling had not even been touched. When I showed the technician the cowling problem, he said they would have to order parts, which were on back order, and that they would call me later to set up the repair. A month or so later the parts came in and today I took the truck in to have the cowling replaced. During the repair, my wife and I asked for a shuttle to take us to the mall and to lunch, and was told we would have to wait 30 minutes because the driver had just went to lunch. 1.5 hours later the driver showed up and took us to a restaurant, and 10 minutes later the dealership called and said our truck was done and we could pick it up. After finishing our lunch, we called for the shuttle and returned to the dealership. After getting my keys, I once again inspected the repair, and found that it was still broken, and that they did not order all 3 pieces, and specifically did not order or replace the actual broken part on the passenger side. I again had to show them that it was not fixed, so they ordered parts again, and told me they would give me a call when they came in. Once i drove back home to Oroville, I decided to call the Manager, but was directed to an assistant instead. I was told sorry, and that since it was warranty work, that I could take my business somewhere else if I liked. In closing, Wittmeier Chevy has no quality control, and after making the sale, the management has had no interest in helping me clear things up with them. My cowling and blinker are still broken, I have a paint chip on my door from being transported, that they are denying is their fault. I am a 15 year COMBAT USMC VETERAN that they promised the Chevy Military Rebate to, and never followed through on. I will not make the mistake again of shopping for a vehicle at this dealership, or having any kind of work done. I will stay local, and stick to a small town dealership where they know my name and appreciate my business. read more

I have never bought a vehicle from Wittmeier (have never bought a new vehicle, period) but I took my 2004 Impala there for years for service and have now been taking my 2016 Chevy Spark and have never had a bad experience with the service department. They may not be the least expensive but for this reason I tried an independent mechanic once and it ended up not costing any less with the price of a couple of ubers factored in. The independent mechanic also broke something else when doing the work and it was very difficult to get them to take responsibility so I will continue to go to Wittmeier for service. read more

5 months ago I bought a (new to me) Toyota Prius from a dealership in Redding, CA, but due to a severe vandalism incident that occurred and totaled my vehicle, I was left without a vehicle and very little to put down on a car. I emailed the Internet sales at Wittmeier and Joe advised I should make the trip and take a look at my options. Given this is the only dealership within an hour or so with such a huge inventory of nice, used Hondas, I figured it'd be worth it. Travis greeted us and let us take a peak at a couple of very nice used Honda Civics, but I knew they were out of my price range. I know that working with my credit with the amount I could put down was a huge challenge, but Travis kept it light hearted and made me feel at ease through the process. I never felt pressured to buy a certain car and I could tell he wanted to make it work with my financial boundaries. They ran my credit and worked relentlessly to get me a 2013 Honda Civic in AWESOME condition. One of my favorite parts of the trip was the educational portions I gathered during the finance process. Jeff Rei was our finance representative and even though this seems like the longest part of the transaction, he made it very fun and informative. He encouraged me to refinance after a certain amount of time to help lower my interest and all kinds of helpful financial tips. To top it off, they filled up my gas tank before I left! In my previous experience with a dealer, this didn't happen, so I was pleasantly surprised by that. I got way more than I bargained for at Wittmeier and I'm so glad we made the trip to see them. Yesterday I dropped my car off at Wittmeier to get an oil change. I choose to go there because they have a good price and do a multi-point inspection on my vehicle. When I picked up my car at the end of the day, I was looking over the inspection to see what other maintenance my car needed. The inspection sheet said my brakes are between 20-50%, I need immediate attention to my cv drive axle boots or driveshafts and u-joints, as well as new rear tires (which I was already aware of). Wittmeier quoted me $600 for front and rear brakes, even though they had already resurfaced my rotors in March. I thought that was ridiculous, so today, I took my car to Les Schwab for a brake inspection (which is a completely free service) Les Schwab informed me my brakes are at about 70% and my cv axle/driveshaft/u-joints are completely fine. I'm so incredibly disappointed that Wittmeier chooses to treat their customers this way. Was it because I'm a female and they think I don't know any better and will just throw money at them to fix whatever they say needs fixing? Do they try to take advantage of all of their customers? I'm sure I'm not the only person that has had an issue with Wittmeier. One thing is for sure, they just lost a customer for good. Not only will I not take my vehicle to get serviced there, but I will not be buying a vehicle from them in the future. Thank goodness for Les Schwab and their honesty and helping me save a pile of money! It's nice to know there are auto shops that don't try to take advantage of their customers! Incredible service! Nick helped me yesterday to get the PERFECT car for me. He had me laughing the whole time, and was so easy to joke with. Worst experience ever! Came to look at trucks, and had a great salesman named Daniel. He was nice and relatable. The issue wasn't with him at all. Unfortunately, the finance guy came over, was pushy, rude, condescending, tried to lie to us and tell us the top of the line model was the cheapest one he had on the lot (because he thought we were stupid) and implied we wasted his time because the payment he quoted us was too high and not the same as what we were getting online so we were going to check out Nissan instead. Do yourself a favor and don't car shop here. Being treated like you aren't worth a salesman's time is not the way you operate a business. We ended up with a brand new truck that same day for what we we were asking for at almost the same exact price point so what we were asking for wasn't impossible. read more

The price was really good for the oil change and the staff is really friendly. The second time I brought my car back within a couple of hours Tim had it fixed! Just do not go there. Just don't. I had my suburban "fixed" there in an accident. Had full coverage insurance. The body work was great. I thought they did a good job just looking at that. They got almost $10,000, returned it to me with the wheel pulling TERRIBLY to the side, the engine light on and it now won't pass smog. I am still paying this car off and it won't pass smog. They claimed they aligned it and took no responsibility for any of the other stuff. Then when we opened up the hood we found broken and missing parts on the engine, including parts of the transmission that were in the path of the crash. They claimed it wasn't them, so either they broke it and won't fess up or they didn't even check. I just bought it less than two years ago and the engine was beautiful upon inspection. Clearly this was due to the accident and their work. I only gave one star to make a comment. If I could give zero I would. We went elsewhere to fix it. I was told by other angry customers that their mechanics stated "We get lot's of business by fixing their mistakes". NEVER EVER AGAIN! I have a recall to fix and I am going out of town to have it done. read more

...the worst sales staff ever...!..The First kid..Jordan...talking out his butt about what he new about the cars on his lot and how he was the best sales person they had there.He use profanity several times while we were looking at the cars and he got a phone call from his girlfriend and left us with another who needed a bath. The guy smelt to high heavens and he too started talking smack about stuff and wouldn't listen to what my daughter was telling him...he kept bringing out cars that she didn't want or could afford...never going back...you need to have older and more respectful people on your lot... read more
