I have to downgrade the previous five star review due a negative experience returning shoes at this location. We live 45 minutes away from Vacaville where the store is located. I made a special trip a month or so ago to look at shoes for my dad. He had good luck with this brand in the past. Unfortunately, he has gout and very painful bunions impairing his functioning and he has daily pain in both feet. Though we are trying to address both issues with podiatry and his primary care doctor, it's still a challenge. He thought the two pairs of shoes we got would work after testing them out at the store, but after wearing them each for a couple hours at home he felt unstable and his feet hurt. A double negative. I wanted to return them but it's hard to find a time as they are only open from 10 am- 7 pm, and they are 45 minutes away, and add the never ending construction on Hwy 50/80 through West Sac to Davis, there's usually a huge slowdown, let alone more if there's an accident. I made a real effort to get to the store (including a 45 minutes delay) to get the shoes returned (which are virtually unworn) in the 45 day limit. I was greeted with "Are you here for an exchange?" I said, no, I'm here for a return, these didn't work out for my Dad. She then asked, did I need to look around just to make sure?... Um, no. She then asked in an accusing tone "Where's the box for the other pair?" I said the pair was in clearance and it didn't have a box. That is what my Dad told me...she said, "That's weird." She then proceeded to look over the shoes as if she was a forensic scientist. Flipping the soles, looking at the insoles...searching for signs of wear. She finally and reluctantly gave me a full refund. And with that unpleasant experience added to the awful drive, I will definitely not be returning here for anything. We had a great experience with the two guys running the store a month ago in the morning...no drama and just great customer service. I like to exercise my right to return. But I make sure things are in excellent shape, I have the receipt, I meet the time metrics, and understand the policies of the store. I did not appreciate being treated like a criminal for returning two pairs of athletic shoes. Be aware and choose to take your business elsewhere if the ability to return shoes is important to you. read more

If you're a New Balance fan then stop in the Vacaville Outlet. I wouldn't go out of your way to get here since discounts vary and there aren't that many regular deep discounts as the days past. But I noticed that same practice from the other retailers in the Outlet Plaza. Anyways, this always a must stop when I'm at the Outlets. Hubs is a huge New Balance fan of their shoes... running, trail, court, leisure... all of it. Just for the simple fact that they carry double wides as a standard size. This shop carries those sizes as well. But keep in mind it's an outlet ship, so the popular styles won't necessarily make it here. This is his go to brand since forever. Ok maybe not forever but for sure the past 30 years. Needless to say, he's been a customer of this shop for quite awhile and appreciates the service he's always gotten. Staff may have come n gone, but they have always been helpful and down to earth. So this shop is doing something right in their hiring and recruitment. read more

January 2025, this place is terrible. The deals are gone, the inventory is poor, this place is like the trash can of new balance items but they still wants retail prices. They don't have any new stuff you can get on the new balance website. The prices and deals here are terrible. Today they literally wants $70 on the tag for 1 sweater 1 sweatpants, but the deal is buy one get one half off so that would be $105 for a sweater and a sweatshirt, and shirts there are $30. Yea these are not "outlet" prices whatsoever. Used to come here all the time, definitely not coming here ever. read more

I stopped by this store on the way at home to do a return. I spoke to a few members about products, and they answered my questions with confidence & positive demeanor. When I initially went to the register, a young man immediately showed a few products that works with my pronation. Another employee, a lady, was very helpful and knowledgeable. She recommended a shoe protectant for my light colored sneakers and assisted in getting the right size pair of socks. At this time, there was a very good sale going on that day. I tried a couple of shoes, same model/color in wides, until I felt comfortable. Colors are limited compared to online. I decided if I can find a color that I can wear with leggings & shorts, I'm good. Comfort in support takes precedence and then color. My shoes are a good value. Overall, my shopping experience for the first time at this store was a vey positive one . I went on a Tuesday and immediately found parking in front of the store. Very positive experience buying exercise walking shoes. Both staff members that helped us were knowledgeable and friendly. They gave us several different options and explained the pros and cons of each shoe. They had a good selection and had no trouble finding my big size 13! They even had 1/2 sizes. I sometimes laugh at factory outlet prices that are not really any better, but I got $100 shoes for $60, which was very reasonable. BEWARE of New Balance shoes!! I bought 2 pairs (brown and black) of New Balance Aravon shoes directly from the company. Within weeks the soles of both pairs totally fell apart. Deep cracks appeared on the bottoms and chunks of the rubber actually peeled off. On one pair, the bottoms melted like hot tar although it was not hot outside. THEN when I tried to contact the company I got a complete run-around. I spent 4 months calling, emailing and writing via their website to try to get someone to address this issue; explain why it happened and how they were going to keep it from happening again. Crummy service and bad experience. Two vists here in the past two weeks. The first visit, several of us were made to wait outside in the cold wind as the young guy at the front door would only let 5 in at a time. The woman ahead of us had two very young ones and even though two adults exited, he wouldn't let them in. It was freezing outside! I understand because of the pandemic you have to limit occupacy, but that was ridiculous not to let them in out of the cold. After that, we left. The second visit was last weekend and they were now letting 8 people in and we got inside quickly. The store itself looks nice and neat, but the sizing is haphazard and the salesgirl tried to sell my husband a pair of shoes that looked totally inappropriate from what he was asking for. We bought 4 pairs of sneakers here, as we were paying, I asked if their were any specials going on, the young lady that rang up my purchase told me that there is a discount book for AAA members, but the office was already closed, that was at 8pm..... Each time that I have visited this New Balance factory store in the Vacaville premium outlets, I have been treated with friendly and attentive of customer service. The interior is always clean and well organized, and the employees are always willing to help. While this is an outlet store, they still have the great styles at wonderful prices. My family and friends always find great deals here, it's always awesome to find a sturdy and comfortable pair of shoes for less than $50. (1 Star Review is based on second visit with Daniel) (1st visit with Jovanny was a 5 star) I had purchased some running shoes online, when I got them they felt to snug. I called the store asking if was possible to exchange for a bigger size. The guy I spoke with was very pleasant. He told me no problem at all and they have my size waiting for me. So I jumped in the car and drove the 30 miles to Vacaville. Once I got there everything went great and Jovanny was polite and super helpful. I grabbed the shoes and left. I did try them on but didnt walk around. (My mistake). The very next day I decided to wear the shoes around my house and I was like crap these arent comfortable and my toes is still rubbing.. ok great i have to drive back to Vacaville tomorrow on my day off. So I drove back to Vacaville and handed them my shoes told them what happened. This a new guy helping me. He starts investigating the shoe looking at the bottom and saying well these look really worn down and scoffed in my opinion. Not in good shape at all. I looked at him and said are you kidding me??? I bought these shoes the day before yesterday and didn't wear them out. Only around the house. He was like well in my opinion do you see where it is scoffed and worn down? Pointing it out. I'm getting a little irritated and I told him to look at the date of the receipt. I was there on the 28th and back on the 30th because I do not live local and these were purchased 1 day ago. I cant just drive here quickly to return the same day. I had work and now I'm off and now I'm here. Can you do the exchange or not? In his condescending voice he said ok ya we will do it but these shoes are not in good condition. I dont know what Daniel was trying to accuse me of, basically lecturing me in front of everyone in the store. I do not appreciate the poor customer service that was given to me. It made me want to return them completely and take my money elsewhere. He made me feel uncomfortable and out of place as I looked for another shoe. I even had to ask him a question and trust me I didnt want to. The other guy working walked in the back, and I had no choice but to ask Daniel a question about how this should fit and he said just get the bigger size because your feet will get swollen. Checked in here a couple times this past week, and had a great experience each time. I wasn't shopping for myself, but was shopping for my mom, and the sales associates were very helpful. Anna in particular was very helpful, and helped me exchange a prior purchase for a more suitable shoe that suited my mom's needs. Was greeted at the door, and waited a bit to enter since less ppl are allowed in the store these days. Was offered hand sanitizer upon entrance. Had such a great experience there today! My friend and I were in a bind trying to find good quality and lightweight jackets for the volleyball team that we coach. We found really nice jackets for a reasonable price. Buy one get one 50% off! Only problem was that we needed 4 more and the sizes we needed were not in stock. Every associate we met was so friendly, polite and helpful. One young man helped us by double checking their inventory and other racks to make sure there weren't any misplaced. Then we met the manager who was also incredibly helpful! She checked the inventory of other stores and offered to have the needed items ordered and shipped to my house (free shipping)! We explained that we were in a time crunch because two other companies we tried ordering jackets from were backed up on orders and shipping due to the hurricane and we needed them within the week. She then went the extra mile for us to put a word in for our order to get filled asap as it was a Saturday evening. Sure enough I received an email within an hour or two that the order had been filled and shipped! Then the young man who we checked out with was so patient and helpful in ringing up our large cart and submitting our online order. I would highly recommend this store! The New Balance Factory Store in the Vacaville Outlets may be one of the best places to buy athletic shoes and is the best place for New Balance. Their factory store is conveniently located off Interstate 80 for anyone heading to the Bay Area, Sacramento, or Lake Tahoe. New Balance makes a wide variety of shoes for women and men, including some options made in the USA! The store itself is somewhat basic with lots of open stock shoes with a few apparel and accessory options. The staff are helpful and friendly, but you can easily find the available size and width options. Selection is limited as the factory stores typically only carry discounted overstock or discontinued versions, but you can save a lot of money if you like the option. Some of the more extreme sizes may not be available, but sometimes they have overstock of specialty sizes too. It can be a bit of a gamble, but they pay off big with savings! read more

I've been a loyal fan of New Balance for a long time. Their shoes for runners are expensive but worth it given their comfort. I also like their casual shoes as they are (or were) fairly understated in terms of look. I was due for a new pair of trainers and everyday shoes so I made the trip from Oakland to this store. The store itself is wonderful -- it's located in a high-end strip mall with some good options. The space is clean and the staff is friendly. My biggest gripe is that the shoes have gotten... funky... over the years. The high end running shoes are still classic grey or blue. But most of the lower end shoes are bright, bold colors -- oranges, reds, yellows -- and slick with different embellishments. I wish there were more classic colors/designs. I found a couple of understated designs, but only a few and they didn't fit me well. So I guess that's a lesson to learn -- don't get too attached to one brand -- you never know when they'll do in a different direction. Good selection, great prices. Popped in here yesterday. My friends raved about New Balance, but like Craig - I could never find the right style, color and price match. I personally subscribe to the notion of all-over black trainers. They are good for cruising around, wear to the office on casual Friday's and most importantly if you have to hit the bars later - you don't look like a chav. Long story short, about 3 months ago, I got a pair of Adidas and a pair of Puma's at the same time. The Adidas pair squeaks when I walk, and the heel sole is detaching in the Puma's. My previous pair were Sketchers, and I had a set of Reebok's before that. The Reebok's wore out so quickly it was painful. The Sketchers rocked, but eventually succumbed to stank after a few years. Lesson learnt - don't buy Adidas, Reebok or Puma. So I went to New Balance, and found a pair of MX620's (http://www.nbwebexpress.com/newbalanceMX620AB.htm) for $32.20 after tax. Obviously, they had to be black all over, uniquely these are cross-trainers over the usual casual types I wear. The fact it was 1/2 price rocked and so far so good. I've spoken with Denise the store manager and several employees over the years. They are genuine and want to help the customers. Labor Day Sale! Totally worth the drive! I've worn down my poor shoes to the next color level underneath the sole... it was clearly time for a new pair. Labor Day sales was just too hard to say no to. Given the opportunity and the need, we knew it was time to go. My gf and I drove out Monday for the sale and it was worth the drive. We found two awesome shoes to continue our training in and they were both on sale for 50% off! When the total came up we got the two pair of shoes 30% cheaper than if we got a pair at full price! Sidenote- I picked up the box as I was looking for pairs to try on and thought- Oh this must be the one on display because it felt so light. I opened it and I was mistaken! Generally I am NOT a fan of outlet malls, specifically because they are only dumping stuff that did not sell elsewhere, or worse lower quality items specifically produced for their outlets. The NB store in Vacaville is different.l Their staff is friendly, but honestly mostly kids that don;t REALLY know their products well, so do your research and know what you are looking fro and looking at.. Some of the shoes are seconds, but not all. I do not have a problem with that. They seem to be seconds because of very minor issues and nothing major or that will prevent the product from performing very well. They have sales all the time, generally 25% to 50% off your purchase, and it also applies to the clearance rack. Clearance rack is my FRIEND! One of the employees was shopping while there was a super long line outside waiting to get in and it just held up those in line! The store is a great choice if you have wide feet. I think the selection has decreased a little over the last 3 years but still there is good value to be had. The staff doesn't assist very often with shoe selection or trying on of the shoes. Sometimes they will ask if I need help but they drift away quickly. Not sure what is going on in the store that keeps them that busy, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Do not expect the same level of customer service as a regular shoe store. read more

Wow. We went to New Balance tonight because I know they have good shoes. I needed shoes for my two girls which is usually a chore. Shay stepped in and helped us find two pairs for each. One of my daughters has orthopedic inserts and Shay helped her find the right shoes and made sure she had two pairs that fit. When she tried to help my younger daughter, she identified right away that anything she suggested, my daughter would nix, so she let her find shoes that she liked, and then made sure they fit well. Go there during a 30% off sale, and you'll be in discontinued shoe heaven. I hate shopping for shoes. Every time I find a shoe I like, the store is missing the correct size, the one they have left is riddled with moths, or it looks like Homer Simpson designed the color scheme. After months of not finding cheap New Balance that fit, I broke down and drove all the way from Oakland to this store in Vacaville. It was well worth the trip! The knowledge of the help there is varied, so try to find someone who seems like they know what they are talking about. The woman who ultimately helped me measured my foot, looked at the wear and tear on my sandals to see if I pronated, and didn't push the most expensive model. Importantly, their non-sale prices are equivalent to the best deals you'll find online, and they are far cheaper than their SF store. read more
