I always use movers when I move. I spoke to Mike, the Owner about a week and a half ago to schedule my move. The movers arrived at my storage promptly this morning and began loading my items on the truck. I had 3 movers. I was exceptionally pleased when Larry, put a runner down so that they didnt stain the carpet while bringing my items in. They were careful with my items & wrapped my bedroom furniture up with their clithe to protect them. Im so thankful because my last moving experience was less desirable. Larry, Greg, & Wesley completed my move without complaints or excessive personal breaks. I moved our of a storage into a 2 bed/2bath apt. I was particularly pleased with the cinoany having their own box to transport loose items. I don't know why I have loose items when it seems that i have over 100 boxes!! All of the guys had a great sense of humor and made me feel totally comfortable. Of course it can be pricey when you contract movers but it feels great to know that I was able to support a Black Owned Business. The only thing that I disagreed with is that they did not hook up my washer & dryer for me. I guess its a liability or something like that. The movers took a very fragile box that said in big red writing "Fragile Do Not Place Anything on Top of This Box", and they put 3 boxes on top of it. They did not organize the items correctly in the storage facility. Now I have to go back, move things out of it to get something I need that I told them to put in the front but they hurried it in the back. Not happy at all with this company. Not sure if I'll use them again. read more

I booked Through Groupon. Four hours three men. It was a reasonable price. I had wanted them to stop at my storage and pick up my thing after they packed my daughters apartment since we are moving in the same home. Movers said it was possible but when I spoke to his boss he was very rude not able to articulate his word and told me he was not doing that even though it was within my 4 hrs. They broke 2 bookshelves and made a hole in my wall with my couch. Was told they repair the wall and buy bookshelves The guys were Pleasant and polite read more

We used this moving company and our jewelry was stolen. We called the owners and they did nothing. They said did I see them take it. Really like I would have stood there watching them steal my jewelry. These were family heirlooms I could not replace. The jewelry was in the jewelry box before they arrived then it was gone when they left. I am sure the price is right which is why we chose them. Make sure you secure your valuables ahead of time. A group of thieves. They literally rooted through my drawers and stole rare coins and some of my husband's clothing. They refused to do anything about when confronted. They showed up 4 hours late, charged us for the additional time it took to move us as a result of their fatique, and stole our property. I certainly intend to file a claim with the BBB and share my experience with anyone that will listen. HORRIBLE experience. read more

We used New Beginnings for our move from Hickory to Charlotte earlier this year. The men that came to pack up and move our belongings get a 5/5 star. Unfortunately, Michael Blair, the owner, knocked it down to a 1 star because of his horrible service. He was incompetent, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. After the men had completed the job (even adding an extra stop to our storage unit at no charge), we had to wait around in the parking lot for an hour trying to pay Michael. The movers, as well as my fiance and I, called multiple times telling him we were ready to process our credit card. After many excuses, no apology, and an hour later, it was finally processed. I have never had to work so hard to GIVE my money to somebody. To add insult to injury, he charged an extra $100 for no reason, so we then had to deal with calling back and getting that charge reversed. We warn everyone we can to stay away from this company. Again, the guys were truly great, but Michael ruined the entire experience. read more

I moved this morning from Ballantyne to uptown and it could not have been better. I had a three man crew, Demarcus and Rickey were so personable and helpful. The team worked quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend them and would certainly use them again. read more

We used them when we first came to the area and they prices were more than fair. The moving men were polite and professional and they even had an extra guy. When I called to move us again the man, who may have been the owner way over quoted me from our previous move that was less than four months ago. When I pointed that out he became rude and then hung up on me before I finished talking. The only difference is that my husband set up the first move. Hopefully that was just a coincidence and not indicative of how they treat female clients. I'm giving two stars because our first move was fine. read more

We were blown away by New Beginnings and the AMAZING team of men that helped us move! Mr. Blair, the owner, whom we spoke with prior to committing, was very professional and really and truly cared about the quality of work that his men and company represent. We had 3 men help us on moving day. They were prompt (early actually) and efficient. They were careful with all of our items and did everything they could to safely transfer our furniture. Nothing was broken/damaged and all items were just as carefully moved in as they were out at our new home. This was the first time we had ever hired movers, but we will recommend New Beginnings to everyone from here on out! This was a very quick and easy process for my first time moving I had a one bedroom apartment with 2 men. They were very nice and fulfilled any request I had. The reason for the four stars is because the man I had spoken with over the phone was a little short with me. And I wanted them there at 9 am but they put me in for 830. But for my first time with movers it was a great expierence and for the price it was great. read more

I had such an amazing experience with New Beginnings! Their team of two got things done quickly and efficiently despite of this yucky weather we were having here in Charlotte. They laid down some moving blankets to keep from tracking the apartment with wetness and leaves. The two of them were super careful, there was a little scratch on the wall, but hey, it happens. Don't use them!!!!!! They charged twice as much as I ever paid! They asked for tip at the beginning of job! Then when we didn't confirm a tip. And Then....... They were horrible. We hired three people. With bathrooms breaks and drinks breaks there was only 2 people at a time! They didn't pack there drinks they had to go somewhere for drinks! Can you believe it! Talking on phone while he sat down to talk. And he was on the clock! Not a short conversation. Then we had to meet them at the delivery site and they didn't tell us they were stopping for lunch during there transit! We had to wait for them! All three wouldn't begin until all paperwork was signed! It took awhile to get all the paperwork signed. Nobody really working. Not efficient at all! One guy wouldn't even work hardly! This was our second time and they charged us a 40$ overtime fee the first time and we didn't realize. We tipped them the first time to get this bad a service! I had a great experience with this company. I had been planning a move from Columbus, OH to Charlotte, NC as I was transferring with my job. I originally had one moving company in Columbus, OH set up but I had to move the date back and they could not accommodate my new move date. New Beginnings was able to do a last minute move for me at a great price. They even came shortly after the winter storm they had. They were careful with my belongings and very professional. They delivered my furniture the next day and I was very satisfied with the whole process, I'm not sure what I would have done without them! These guys have moved me three times. The first time I found them was in an emergency when my movers didn't show up--these were the only guys who could come within 24 hours and didn't charge an outrageous price for it. They also moved my dad (who was in his 80s), and now they've moved one of my coworkers and one of my neighbors. Always a good price, always kind, and always professional. New Beginnings helped me pack and move a three bedroom home from one end of Charlotte to another. I have several English and early American antique pieces of furniture that are delicate and irreplaceable, not to mention a dining room table that seats 12 and has a surface that would be easy to scratch and ruin. They moved everything so carefully, professionally, and thoughtfully we had ZERO PROBLEMS. I fully expected something to go wrong--something would get broken or something would get scratched. Everything was moved in PERFECT CONDITION. On top of that the crew was so nice, helpful, and respectful.
