The low rating for this perinatal center definitely leaves me dumbfounded. The experience we received since the very beginning, from genetic consultation to nutritional consultation and just regular ultrasonography were thorough, informative, sensitive, and extremely friendly. Their imaging equipment was so high tech that it made our obgyn's equipment seem prehistoric! Asides from one seemingly pointless appointment, where a provider just told my wife to be mindful of what she eats and simply scheduled a follow up with a nutritionist, every other appointment was informative and clinically significant! Emily and Sonia, along with other staff there were very attuned and provided us with such a nurturing vibe, which shows that they really do care about optimal patient care! My wife and I enjoyed our visits so much that when baby arrived early and had to cancel our upcoming appointment, that we were so sad we never got to say goodbye to them, especially Sonia and Emily who has been there every step of the way of our very first pregnancy. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to sincerely thank everyone at New Beginnings for making our first journey to parenthood such a supported and nurtured experience! This place is always the worst. They won't give you a 3d picture unless they can see the baby. The wait time is always crazy they never honor the appointment times. If you show up you need to stay on top of the people at the desk they can and will forget about you. Happened to us they missed place the record and we sat there for almost an hour. When my wife asked what's the issue the lady was like oh we didn't check you in. Horrible service, rude and the ones doing the sonogram usually seem to have an attitude. We even had one give us a scare and said there was something wrong with the baby and we needed another echogram come to find out there wasn't nothing wrong. I still appreciate the work these people do. I have just a couple complaints: 1) The waiting room is always super crowded, and since everyone coming in brings their husband, often the pregnant women have to stand while the dads or kids sit, which really makes me angry. There was one crazy dude who was sitting there, taking up multiple seats with his stuff while he listened to his phone out loud, no headphones. It was some weird 911 was an inside job conspiracy, and he didn't even bother to get up and let the various pregnant ladies sit. I wish they would do more to police that. 2) The food policy is NOT enforced, so I have to smell people's food while they eat (again its usually the dads that are stuffing their faces!) which is not fun for a nauseous pregnant lady 3) The nurse practitioner there is fine, but after my GD diagnosis, I've had to track my blood sugar. I went in for my first appointment, post diagnosis, and she barely even looked at my list, just signed it and gave it back to me. She had no follow up and wouldn't have even spoken to me except I wanted to ask her questions. The only people I really like are the gals who do the sonograms and the lady who takes my blood for blood tests. Overall though, I think they do a great job. I just wish the waiting room was a little more policed since there are so many badly behaved people! read more

I'm not sure why people are complaining about the staff. From my experience they were all helpful and kind. The sonogram techs are amazing and try their best to give you the best pictures of the baby if he/she is in a good position. I've never had an issue with them. read more

I changed this from a two to a three but I agree with others that the front desk staff is very rude. I trust that the doctor is competent but the overwhelming majority of front desk staff here are just rude and make you very uncomfortable. I have been here during very busy times and very early in the morning when there are only a few patients. I have on multiple occasions seen the front desk staff loudly chastise each other as well as the technicians which makes for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. On one occasion, a staff member was very vulgar and the little girl in the waiting room was adorably staring at her mother every time the staff would use foul language. That should not happen. The technicians are professional and what brought this review up to a three. There was only one that did a sonogram for me who I found unprofessional, and just overall bad at her job as she did not acknowledge my basic question (not questionssss but singular question) because she did not appear to be familiar with her work. Most of the others are thorough and explain what they are doing and what is going on without having to be asked (that is important when you are dealing with the health of someone's unborn child and should not have to be explained to staff). Overall, the office is clean and they have squeezed me in last minute when I needed it which I very much appreciate, however the crowded waiting room and tense atmosphere created by their front desk staff make me dread coming here. read more

Came to New Beginnings at 41wks0days, they were efficient, but the initial wait was a little long. When we went for the ultrasound, the technician was very short with us, giving two to three word statements, and unwilling to explain what was happening. I know everyone is not interested, but when you have someone who asks for information, be polite and explain. One redeeming part was the non stress tests Tech, who was very friendly and personable. Started coming here when I was 12 weeks. It's a nice albeit cramped office. The staff is pretty nice. Pretty friendly. The only technician I didn't like was the short fat blond. I forget her name. She was not friendly and for the most part curt. Never gave any pictures during the ultrasound. The other technicians gave plenty. This place is pretty popular so it's always packed. Also the women sometimes bring their mate so theres never any space to sit. The men do not get up to let the ptegnant women sit. I think the staff should make that policy. You usually have to wait at least an hour to be seen. Your best bet is to book a morning appointment. Very diverse too. Honestly I was happy when I didn't have to go anymore. read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!! Disorganized and unprofessional. Unfortunately I am forced to come to New Beginnings by my OB that's not at the new beginnings office. I made an appointment for my fetal EKG a month before and after sitting in a hot tiny office with 20+ other pregnant women, they tried telling me that I didn't have an appointment when I did. At first, I thought it was a mistake on my part but it was not. So they end up putting me in the back of the waiting list, which felt like punishment to me for a mistake that they made! Imagine... Pregnant and sitting in a hot tiny office with a ton of other pregnant women with no place to sit! I called my OB office in tears begging them to never send me here again. I have mixed feelings about this place. The medical professionals are very nice. What is really crazy is the wait; I always wait for 90+ minutes. I don't know why do they even give appointments. When I tried to tell the staff at the reception that I have been waiting for more than an hour and a half, they replied that I will have to wait for a half an hour more (which leads to 2 hours of wait) and gave me a number to call for complaints!!! I also subscribed to the text msg reminders the center sends a day before your appointment, but again nothing was received. I am looking for another medical center to start going to for what's left of my pregnancy. read more

A "Puppy Mill" type of operation here, disorganized and not following any type of healthcare, OSHA, Universal Precautions or other standard protocol. Their sign in sheet is a complete HIPAA violation, leaving all patients visible to anyone who walks in and approaches the counter. The unprofessional female who was at the desk is rude and carried on with another unprofessional in the back and we could hear them (well people in Jersey probably could too because they were so loud) talking about internal office politics and how horrible it was to work there when so and so was around etc. I was handed a stack of papers to complete and one of the forms that required a signature and a witness to the signature was pre-filled with the witness's signature (a slight legal matter there). While sitting in the waiting area we were subject to listening to some cracked out strung out patient carrying on to the receptionist about her baby-daddy and his jail time/parole and how it was interfering with her life and pregnancy - For God's sake, put a patient like that in the back where the rest of us don't have to be subject to her while we try to enjoy our pregnancy experiences. Oh - the lab work. The person who drew my blood NEVER washed her hands or hand sanitized before putting on her gloves and had ABSOLUTELY no training in proper aseptic blood collecting technique. She haphazardly rubbed my arm with the alcohol pad and jabbed the needle in while the alcohol on my arm was still wet (I'm sure my specimen was hemolyzed) and never labeled my specimen tubes in my presence so I truly question the validity of my test results. Everyone knows that the day of the sonogram is one of the most anticipated days in a pregnancy and this place by far ruined the joy and excitement of the day for us. I must say that the 1 positive experience was the sono tech named Sonia, what a sweetheart and props to her for puttingup with such an environment. I won't be returning read more

My fiancé and I were very resistant at coming to New Beginnings Perinatal Center because of the reviews, however we have both learned that the best way to make an assumption is through your own experiences. We are very pleased we did so, which lead me to actually write a good review. To start it was our very first visit and we were extremely excited to learn the anatomy of our growing baby, everyone from the technician, to the front desk, and desk, were very pleasant and inviting. They gave us a full understanding of our ultrasound, and we sincerely look forward to our follow up. In addition we both were on a time schedule because of work, we literally were seen 10 minutes after arrival and out extremely fast, without feeling neglected. I had to move my car because I didn't want to get a ticket due to them running late; when I returned, they informed me that I'd been called "like twice" while I was gone and that they took the next patient after me. B.S.! Oh, and make sure to bring cash for your copay, they don't take credit cards or checks (which they neglected to mention on the phone). No stars. This place is a sh*t hole. The rudest front desk staff ever. It seems they book at least 10 people every 10 minutes and the wait is always at least an hour. I had a 9am spot. They open at 9, how can they be that behind already. They also have a strict no food policy in the waiting room, ok. But then don't have the nerve to get a breakfast delivery for the reception staff and eat you bacon egg and cheeses like pigs in front of me. With your greasy little nubs dirtying up my insurance card. And the amount a pharma reps that they take into the back is clearly slowing down the appointment times. While I realize they bring tasty treats and gifts, I am a paying customer sent her by my private doctor for a test. It shouldn't be such an unpleasant all day experience. Update: I have been coming here for the duration of my pregnancy(due in March) and this place is a total shitshow and something has gone wrong during each of my four visits. Trying to schedule an appointment on a Saturday is nearly impossible and the manager Stephanie is incompetent and unhelpful. I have gotten sono pics of the previous patient attached to my pics (can you imagine the horror of seeing a full term baby attached to you 20 week sono pics?!) and I have had the MA confuse me with another patient. Avoid at all costs. After reading the reviews I was nervous and came thisclose to canceling my appointment...I'm 17 weeks and my last sono was at 7 weeks so I knew that missing this appointment would not have been in my best interest. I arrived about 5 minutes late (called to advise staff) and was promptly checked in and given forms to fill out. By the time the firms were filled out and copies were made of my insurance card, we were called in. The sonographer introduced herself verified my identify and started the procedure. She walked us through each step, each sound, each image, and was able to confirm the baby's gender in less than 5 minutes! After she was done, we were given copies of the sono, congratulated (again), and walked to the lab for bloodwork. The phlebotomist/M.A. was quick and was able to draw blood painlessly. Overall, an excellent experience and I would recommend this office highly to any of my friends or family as we were in and out in less than 30 minutes in the middle of a Saturday afternoon (appt scheduled at 1:20). read more

During my pregnancy I've been here about 4 times. All times were completely different. The front desk staff is very inconsistent - sometimes approachable other times full of attitude. This is my third time (3rd child) coming here and it had gotten worse. The front desk was ok, they didn't greet or pay you any mind until they realize I spoke English. As I waited to be called 35 minutes later than my appointment time (I filled out my form ahead of time and still had to wait), I went into room, the short girl with blond hair was my sonographer. After she told me to lay down, she was texting on her phone. Spent 10 mins or so, got two images and didn't get to hear the heart beat of the baby. She was quiet and felt awkward the whole time being in the room with her. After she was done. She told me to clean up and went right back to texting. Throughout my visits in the past, I never interact with someone that's so unprofessional and unfriendly. I miss the other ladies who willing to chat and get to know their clients and make it less awkward. I wish I have another option to go elsewhere. read more

This place was terrible. The only good part was that my scan was normal and baby was healthy, but every other aspect was my experience was awful. My appointment was for 2:25pm and I wasn't seen until 4pm. The waiting room was overcrowded and tiny with not enough seats, including screaming kids and people shouting on cell phones ( which signs clearly said are not allowed). The ultrasound tech was curt and cold, not even acknowledging my partner and didn't even tell us her name. The scan was done in like 2 minutes and she didn't explain anything at all. She did not give us photos of scan either and said " we don't do that"....???? It was one of the most impersonal experiences I've ever had at a medical office. What should have been an exciting and special appointment left me really sad, such a bummer! Don't come here unless you want to be treated like an assembly line of pregnant women. Awful!!! read more

Started coming at my 8 weeks, I love the place. Now I'm 26 weeks and been coming more than a few times already, very professional staff and friendly, love the doctor very professional. It's a very busy office and things will happen but it's to expect in a busy place, it's not easy to please every single patient and to remind each patient to follow the polices we are adults and with that we should know better that in a office that only pregnant women go we shouldn't eat, kids running around and husband's eating also playing loud music, isn't necessary to put polices for adults we should know better, but instead we blame the place for everything we do come on we are adults this is not a daycare or sicologist office to understand everyone that goes there, we are pregnant not disable ok. Bottom line the office staff and the doctor do a great job. read more

I was sent there my by OBGYN to monitor my high risk pregnancy. I am very grateful to the staff and to Dr. Webbe himself. First, I had very pleasant experience with the waiting - this is not a big place but they schedule people in such a way that you never wait long and in general you are out in an hour after all the procedures, which is wonderful. Second, the staff was always very polite and attentive to my needs. They answered all my questions, I could see the baby and get as many pictures as I wanted on the 3-D monitor, it was great. And, finally, the day before I delivered my daughter, I was due for my last prenatal visit - next day I was already scheduled for an early c-section in the hospital. Well, during my visit, they diagnosed high blood pressure and protein in my urine and Dr Webbe recommended that I go to the hospital for observation. I was irritated and did not want to go, saying all the time that I was already scheduled to deliver by c-section the next day. Well, Dr. Webbe met with me and spoke to me and recommended that I do go, and same thing was recommended to me by my OBGYN, Dr Halper (who is another great doctor, you can read my review about him and what happened during my delivery here on yelp), and I did go. And what do you reckon? As soon as I came to the hospital, contractions started... and the rest is history. So thanks to Dr. Webbe and his staff, I was already in the hospital when my contractions started and did not have to panic and rush in unprepared. read more

I am so pissed at this clinic.. I had a 16 week sono and the doctor only said "looks like a boy" and didn't even show us the private parts to confirm. Then they had some mix up in my chart saying that I am a diabetic and then the explanation is that its a mix up with some else's chart. This place is pretty terrible. The staff behind the desk are incredibly unhelpful. If you are looking for reliable prenatal care, I would not recommend this establishment based on how the staff behind the desk operates. I had a sonogram here and blood drawn and both of the technicians who I met with were lovely, but the rest of the staff was absolutely terrible. I was told I could receive my blood test result over the phone if I gave my SSN and then was yelled at by someone over the phone, telling me they can't tell me my results. It turned into an argument. I was finally able to receive my results over the phone after them telling me countless times they haven't receive them to only find out they actually must not have looked hard enough because they had them for over a week! They also told me they would fax my results over to my dr and never did. When I asked her to refax them, I got an ugly attitude and some B.S. excuse why she couldn't do it. I then proceeded to insist on her doing her job and after a long sigh, she claimed she would fax them. Honestly, coming here is just a terrible experience and I will take my care elsewhere because proper prenatal care is very important to me and clearly, you cannot receive that with this facility. I have been to New Beginnings 3 times over the course of my pregnancy . The workers have been friendly and helpful, however, the office itself is completely ghetto. I feel like I am in a free medical clinic. The waiting room is always jammed packed. I am 5 months pregnant. After STANDING for 10 min, I finally approached a man (playing video games on his phone with the volume blasting) and asked him in a somewhat demanding way to get up so I can sit. As I continued to wait to be called in, I witnessed many NON pregnant people sitting comfortably while pregnant women stood. read more
