I cannot speak more highly about Dr. Chang and her staff. We did a lot of research before choosing our fertility doctor and we could have not made a better choice. She is kind and patient, taking the time to truly listen and understand our needs. Even though she is incredibly busy, we never felt rushed. She always explained everything in great detail, giving us all our options along with her recommendation. Not to mention, she is a rockstar in her field. When my wife was not getting pregnant after multiple IUI attempts, she did everything she could to find the problem before moving on to IVF. My wife and I didn't want IVF treatment that was too aggressive and she never pressured us. We got pregnant in the first round of IVF using acupuncture and diet along with the medical treatment. Her staff and nurses are also amazing. They are all so kind and helpful. They always returned our phone calls and answered all our questions. We felt we were in great hands, especially with Kimberly and Maria. The only issue we had was with the billing department of the clinic itself which has nothing to do with Dr. Chang. It was hard to track down itemized receipts we needed for insurance reimbursement. They also overcharged us twice which could have been easily overlooked since you pay upfront. Pay attention to your costs and stay on top of the billing department. We are LGBT and never felt any sort of prejudice, which we've read happens in other clinics. Love Dr. Chang and everybody at Southern California Reproductive Center. From the front desk to the ultrasound techs and the phlebotomist where very professional and welcoming. They became like family. Dr. Chang was very nurturing and knowledgeable. She guided us through every step. There's wasn't any surprises. Dr. Chang is knowledgeable, kind and capable. I had a consultation with Dr. Chang in 2018 to explore my options and decided to move forward with IVF. But life happened and we had to delay the procedure several times and then COVID hit and there was further delay. If you are embarking on the IVF journey, it will be frustrating and confusing... and you want to have confidence in your doctor and we absolutely did. It was a difficult process but ultimately we were successful and gave birth to a healthy baby girl this June. I wish I had found Dr. Chang sooner. She was the 3rd fertility doctor that I ended up seeing, but she was hands down the best. My husband and I struggled with unexplained infertility for over 2 years. Dr. Chang started us off with blood work and found something no other doctor even bothered to look at -- we both had elevated mercury levels. Once we decided to move forward with IVF, Dr. Chang was METICULOUS about protocol. We had a 3 month period where we changed our diet, exercise and sleep behavior. She truly wants you to succeed with your procedures and takes every measure to ensure of this. She and her team are extremely professional, available for questions with prompt responses and the SCRC office as a whole made billing seamlessly easy (things we struggled with in previous fertility offices). Our first appointment with Dr. Chang was April 2017 and we found out we were pregnant via IVF November 17th, 2017. I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Chang except that I am truly grateful for how she treats each patient -- she never rushed us, never pushed us to do unnecessary procedures and took great care of us while covering all the bases. We really enjoyed working with one of her main nurses Kimberly who was always very helpful and on top of scheduling protocol for IVF. We also loved Neha who is an amazing technician for all of our ultrasounds. Going through IVF is stressful, plus emotionally and physically taxing. After we got the ball rolling with our plan to do IVF, I felt taken care of and that a specific plan catered to our needs was put in place. This helped lift a lot of the anxiety women feel about infertility and managing it. I will miss Dr. Chang and her team until we meet again to do IVF again for baby #2. Dr. Wendy Chang is honestly the BEST doctor! My wife and I thought we just needed help with an IUI, but when other circumstances arrived she helped us to overcome them with such grace and positive energy. She did not resort to the scare tactics of our first dr and jump immediately to IVF. Instead she took a second look and prescribed a plan to help open up my tubes. I needed some peace of mind and to see what may be the cause if any for my infertility. Various tests were run and it turned out I just wasn't ovulating every cycle with no other obvious cause for concern. Dr. Chang was very thorough and informative in all her briefings with me and just so knowledgeable. I always appreciated that she never pushed me to do IVF or any other procedure but instead encouraged us to continue to try to naturally conceive. After an unsuccessful attempt to conceive for another 6 months I came back to her and decided to do IVF. It was the best decision I could have made at that time and I couldn't have felt more comfortable entrusting this procedure to anyone else. IVF is a long and complex procedure but I always had so much support from Dr. Chang and her team and was never left with a question or concern unanswered. Throughout the process I came to realize there are so many variables to a successful IVF story - but of them the most important is the competency of your doctor, the embryologists and the clinic as a whole. From the moment I met Dr. Chang I knew my fertility was in the best of hands. I've been fortunate enough to work with her and her incredible staff for several years now. I first saw her for egg freezing. I am so grateful that I put my future family in her hands. We went to Dr Chang for help getting pregnant and within a few months of our first meeting we were pregnant by IUI! We had tried an IUI at our OBGYN previously and had a horrible experience. Today, I am 38 weeks pregnant with my husband and I's first child. Despite being just 2 weeks away from our due date, this pregnancy still feels very surreal to me. We would not be here today without the help of Dr. Wendy Chang. After 3 years of trying to conceive on our own, my husband and I finally decided to be proactive to seek the expertise of a fertility doctor. A doctor colleague of mine highly recommended Dr. Wendy Chang but I still did my due diligence and researched her experience and education. We were impressed by what we read and scheduled our consultation ASAP! What my husband and I love about Dr. Chang: 1. SHE LISTENS: It was important to both my husband and I that we work with a reproductive endocrinologist that didn't just jump full speed into IVF. We wanted to see if there were other steps that we could take before IVF that we can do to get pregnant. We discussed our wishes with Dr. Chang and she absolutely listened and agreed with us. She, herself, did not just jump into IVF as our solution. She took a thorough history of both my husband and I. Then we did a series of ultrasounds and lab tests. She gave my husband and I diet changes that can boost our fertility. She also respected my decision to do acupuncture, which I started a few months before meeting her. Every appointment, she listens! She genuinely listens. We did a natural cycle with all the diet changes and because that did not give us success we then tried a natural cycle with Clomid, which unfortunately did not work for us either. Then we did a cycle with IUI, which did give us our first-ever positive pregnancy test and we were over the moon! However, that pregnancy ended up being an ectopic pregnancy. After trying other steps, we felt better about going into IVF. Our first IVF transfer is how we are pregnant today. 2. CARING and COMPASSION: I have been working as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the past 4 years. I have also worked as an Emergency Room Registered Nurse for 6 years. In my years of work in the medical field, I have encountered and worked with a multitude of doctors. I must say that I have never met and worked with a doctor like Dr. Wendy Chang. She has a genuine caring aura about her. Her line of work is not easy! I can't imagine being in her shoes and hearing all the unsuccessful stories of couples that are reproductively challenged. Our infertility journey was and is the hardest road my husband and I ever had to go through. This journey affected us in every possible way! It has been mentally, emotionally, physically, financially and even spiritually challenging for us! She is so kind not just to us, but I see her kindness as she speaks to her staff. She not only speaks about how she cares for us but she sincerely shows it. Action speaks louder than words. Under her care, I had to go through several procedures, which included medical management of an ectopic pregnancy, egg retrieval, hysteroscopy, uterine poly removal and the embryo transfer. For each of those procedures, Dr. Chang was there for me to let me know in her soft-spoken gentle voice that I will be fine. 3. PROFESSIONALISM/BED SIDE MANNER: It was very easy for me to catch on as Dr. Chang would speak to us about our next steps, lab and ultrasound results and procedures. However, my husband, who has no experience in the medical field, did not catch on as quickly but Dr. Chang always made it a point to ensure that he understood everything. She is truly a professional! She has great bedside manners. She clearly explains all our possible options, provides time for us to ask questions and allows us to make informed decisions. 4. CLINICAL STAFF/KIMBERLY: We've worked with multiple staff within her clinic and all were very nice. However, Kim, was there with us from beginning to end. Working with Kim was such a breeze! It's understandable that we can't always speak to Dr. Chang at every phone call because she has other patients and procedures to attend to, so Kim was our go to person. Kim has great communication skills and is very professional. Kim was great with also providing us with specific procedure and medication instructions. I hope Kim continues to work with Dr. Chang in the future as we would love to work with Kim again for possible future embryo transfers! 5. SCRC/ART FACILITY: We live in Huntington Beach and SCRC is in Beverly Hills. Because we loved Dr. Chang so much and loved how clean the facility is, we braved the commute! I have nothing bad to say about the SCRC and ART facilities. It is hard to put into words the gratitude we have for Dr. Chang. Trying to find the right set of words brings me to tears. She is a miracle-worker and it is because of her that we beat infertility!! I highly recommend Dr. Chang if you are battling infertility. Dr. Chang, you will be in our lives forever! Dr. Chang is amazing! She is calm, kind and caring. I was thrusted in the world of fertility as I was diagnosed with breast cancer and chemotherapy was part of the treatment. She was honest and sensitive to my situation (I am 40yrs old) and optimistic for the outcome. We started with a modified diet along with supplements to prepare my body. I went in multiple times for labs and ultrasounds (the staff was great too) until we were able to set a calendar to start the process. We met Dr. Chang after multiple failed attempts at getting pregnant with 3 other fertility specialists. With just one round of IVF with Dr. Chang, I got pregnant and delivered a beautiful baby girl in 2013. We were so pleased with Dr. Chang and the helpful staff at SCRC (I love my nurses Kimberly and Jessica), that we returned in 2015 for help with another baby. I struggled with infertility for three years and Dr Chang finally helped me achieve a healthy pregnancy! She is extremely thorough in both her diagnostic process and with the explanations of her recommendations. She is communicative and stays involved throughout the entire process (which isn't the case with all fertility doctors!). Her nurses and staff are also really great. I also liked the billing protocols at SCRC, if you paid for a treatment but part of it had to be cancelled due to unforeseen issues you will get reimbursed automatically.
