While the food tasted fine overall, the place appeared unclean and I suffered an injury in my throat as a result of something unidentifiable and sharp that shouldn't have been in the food. My best guess of what did the damage is a fish bone, despite having No Fish on my plate. But I picked a scale out of my teeth. I am scared, hurt, and upset as throat injuries are difficult/expensive to evaluate and treat. Half a plate that tried to kill me for $18. There are bad Chinese buffets and then there are BAD Chinese buffets. New China Buffet is BAD!!! I couldn't find one edible thing available besides the snow crab legs. Usually these mediocre Chinese buffets have decent soup at least. The hot and sour soup was nasty, almost made me choke from the chili pepper seeds and sour aftertaste. The selection is so limited. What is meatloaf doing on the trays? The hibachi had some of the toughest beef I've ever eaten and there was some eggshell left in the mix, not good. I wasn't brave enough to eat the piece of tuna sushi which looked more like a slice of roast beef than anything that should be served raw. Avoid this place at all costs!!! read more

I haven't been at this restaurant in a long time. The first time was about 8-10 years ago. I didn't like the food then. Fast forward to Oct. 23, 2023, I had a craving for fried rice. I got my styrofoam container and went to the buffet. Everything LOOKED good..... I got bbq ribs, fried rice, pepper steak, honey chicken, crab rangoon, egg roll, and lo mein. Got the meal home and ready to eat. The ribs were pretty good surprisingly. I don't usually eat pork of any kind from a Chinese restaurant but I figured I'd give it a go and I wasn't disappointed. Sauce was good and sticky so it made you lick your fingers. The pork tasted fresh, not old like other Chinese restaurants I've experienced. The meat was very tender. Pulled away from the bone nicely. The fried rice was not done. Crunch-crunch-crunch! I hate it when rice isn't cooked all the way through. Threw that away. The pepper steak was good. Some of the green peppers and onions had a good semi crunch to them. Tasty! The steak and gravy was good. I was able to cut the steak with a knife easily. Flavorful. Honey chicken.....Oh honey! Tender chicken. Not overly sweet. Great with white rice. Which I had to make because the fried rice wasn't done and it was crunchy. Tasty!! Egg roll... wasn't my cup of tea. It had a nice crunch when you bit into it but when I looked inside of it I couldn't make out what was inside of it except cabbage. The rest of the ingredients didn't look delectable. I threw it out. The crab rangoon was pretty good. It had a good crunch and the cream cheese mixture was good. But the crab rangoon didn't have a lot of the cream cheese mixture. So I felt a little jilted. ___ Last but not least the lo mein. Not much flavor in my opinion. Texture of the noodles was good. Needs more flavor for sure. A few more veggies would have been good. Just having el dente noodles ain't enough. Tasted bland. Didn't knock my socks off. Conclusion: I won't be going back to this Chinese restaurant. Yum No!! Good food? Bad food? This place is so Americanized, they should call it the Fake China Buffet. There are no Asian vegetables on the buffet and the only ones offered on the hibachi is bean sprouts and occasionally Napa cabbage. The guy that runs the hibachi is very rude. A few years ago it was okay but they have removed so many things on the buffet and keep raising the prices. So with nothing but sushi to offer as Asian style, higher prices, less offerings and bad attitudes, it's just not worth it. read more

I really wanted the buffet to be great my second time visiting but sadly it was not. The hibachi grill is nice but not a lot to choose from. Waited for the cook to come out, he did with his soda that he had to finish drinking before he was able to start cooking. 90% of the items on the buffet are fried. Vegetables are few and hard to find. My biggest take away is how did this place pass the health department visit. The booths are all ripped up, a heater or air conditioner was on the floor that was filthy. The windows are grimy. Floors had food on them. The restroom had not been cleaned in a long long time. The staff is very nice, thus 1 star. The food gets a zero star rating. I realize there is always a danger going to a buffet outside of the rush hours. However, at 7 pm, with several patrons in the restaurant, it seemed safe. The food we had was simply terrible. I could go dish-by-dish, but I will sum up. Most of the food my wife and I had was past time to discard, cold, rubbery (seafood) or mushy (seafood), overly sweet, overly salty (not Chinese food salty, table salt salty). They should be called out for the fish that was labeled salmon. They either forgot to change the label or they are trying to pass tilapia off as salmon. And not wild caught tilapia, but the bottom feeder cleaners of other farm raised fish. I know the taste well, hate it, and will call it out. Regarding the buffet overall, my suggestion is they make smaller batches, this will help them make replacements more often, keeping the food fresh. The atmosphere was fine. Everything is out of date and worn, but in this day of trendy rustic settings, they fit right in. Give me good food, I do not care about the setting. This was not good food. read more

Really sad this place has gone downhill. We used to love this place but the quality has gotten really bad. Also each time we've gone recently, there's been little to no sushi, and we've even had to ask if they were putting more out. They made like, 6 pieces, and left all the other plates on the buffet empty. I also saw them pouring a kettle of water into the meat loaf and onto the fresh salmon?? Like I was about to get some, but no one wants to eat waterlogged salmon and meat loaf. And what food is there, usually seems like its been sitting there for ages. The food was hot, reasonably fresh, and in copious quantity. Quality was as expected, acceptable but not going to win any awards. Diabetes might happen though with all the sugary sauces. When entering the cool water fall wall will sure get your attention, however the food won't. We were greeted by the staff as we entered and asked if we wanted lunch or dinner buffet. Beyond that we couldn't understand what she said. We were seated and the staff took our reunion order. As it got closer to dinner hours I then realized what the lady said before she seated us. Did we want lunch, which includes 1 trip to the buffet and excludes dinner items (which the label later during dinner hours) or dinner which includes anything and endless trips to the buffet. The food is the normal buffet selections however much less flavorful. In fact some items had a strange flavor to them. The pricing is average Chinese buffet pricing. The staff kept the table cleared and drinks refilled. Clean inside. Overall your basic buffet, but the food was below average in flavor and the lunch/dinner switch over is just plain cheesy. I generally enjoy eating here; however, today the crab rangoon, the chicken on a stick, thesweet and sour chicken, and the egg rolls were cold. I told the manager and instead of apologizing, he said it was because the air conditioner was set cooler. I told him it is possible to have hot buffet food and a cold ac, but he did not agree! OMG! The implications of food being held on a cold buffet caused me to leave ! I do not want to be sick.
