This restaurant was right next to the hotel I was staying at when I made a pit stop on my road trip to Kansas City. I had asked the hotel receptionist on places to go for dinner, and this restaurant was her recommendation. Came here on a Sunday evening around 5pm, and got there right before the rush of people. It seems like a lot of people do carry-out here, and there was a consistent line in & out the door. The service here was amazing: the servers here were extremely friendly and took the time to check-in on my table even though you could tell they were feeling rushed and overwhelmed. The crab Rangoon was brought out fresh and hot (though a tad sweet for my taste). They do put MSG in most of their food, so make sure to ask them to withhold it if that's your preference. Here is a very pleasant little Chinese restaurant that I never would have known about if it weren't for Yelp. The wait staff is nice, the food is plentiful and delicious, and the price is right. What more could one ask for? I chose to have a dinner special. There are many choices of entre, and I selected Orange Chicken. The meal came with a bowl of soup (I chose egg drop), and two egg rolls (they were delicious!). The portion of chicken was very generous, and prepared just the way I like it. The dinner came with my choice of white or fried rice, and I chose the latter. This is a great little place. I hope that they do very well here and expand to a larger location. The spice level was hot but not overpowering. The egg rolls tasted amazing. My husband doesn't typically like egg rolls but he ate two! Stop here if your passing thru or traveling I -70 because this place has been here decades in the same little spot with the same sweet family cooking these amazing dishes. This is Vietnamese Yummy Deliciousness, don't expect a nasty Chinese Buffet were you get sub par food. You will need to be patient but it is so worth the wait! We decided to try this restaurant because it was walking distance from our hotel. Surprisingly this is a pretty good place, the food wasn't bad. The prices were very reasonable as well. The only thing I didn't like was they don't serve wine.. after a long day that would have been nice. Never again for the buffet! Only 30 choices available on the buffet which became more like 18. Including soups and desserts. We arrived at 12 and only saw 3 customers come in. At lunch, that tells you something. Extreamly expensive for the pricing and the fact they let pans sit empty the 40 mins we sat for lunch is horrible. The wasn't the end. Later major stomach upset and well you know. I highly would NOT recommend this place. The food had strange flavors and did not taste like any other place I have ate. Nothing was labeled either. The best! I drive 30+ miles to eat here when I want Hunan. Can't find anywhere close to me that is this good. Everything is fresh, the buffet carries a very large selection and during the week they have great specials when they don't have the buffet. Great food, large portions, good value and family owned.
