The "Hopeful Heap" longs to find its value restored at some future date.
    David S.

The sign says "Open," but the space is nearly bare. Hmm. Take-out it is, then. Three lone chairs spaced 6 feet apart line the south wall. The pandemic seems to be winding down, but this apparently two-person operation is still spending lonely hours behind the limiting plexiglass Wall of New China. Finally, a head bobs up from its task beneath the service counter. Hungry for variety, I ordered a Po Po Platter (that snacks-for-two mix of pork ribs, skewered chicken sticks, Crab Rangoon, cabbage with pork egg rolls, fried chicken wings, and fried shrimp.) It only took a 10-to-15 minute wait, was still hot by the time I got home, and was mostly satisfying. In future I'll know to skip the shrimp. It wasn't bad, but it's a far from stellar blanket of thick, heavy dough suffocating a tasty shrimp. (Up-side: the shrimp will never be cold and the doughy mass is easily pulled away.) It reminds me of ever-present, random bites of sweet-and-sour whatever that while being as large as other bites are void of any meat. Former dining chairs and tables huddle in a heap along the north wall. The heap is silent, but orderly and seems hopeful that its community of parts will find happiness in a near future return to service. I'm crossing my fingers for the Hopeful Heap.

    14. Fried Crab Rangoon

Call and told them that all of my crab meat Rangoon was over cooked and puffed out with overt very little filling inside and they said it's not their problem.... Liked there food a lot . But dang .

The crab Rangoon was the best I have ever had, and I am sort of a connoisseur of Chinese food. So freaking delicious!

Great Chinese food hidden on Liberty Pike. The crab Rangoon is very good. No questionable parts in the chicken - just Fresh tender chicken!

It is a wonderfully intimate space, and I was thrilled to find that parking was utterly effortless, which is a rare luxury these days. The sign reads Corner Asian Cafe, and it is a true diamond in the rough. From the second I stepped inside, the hospitality was exemplary. I was greeted with such genuine warmth by the cashier, which was a thoroughly pleasant surprise. When asked if I had a reservation, I simply let them know I was familiar with the establishment, and they graciously escorted me to an excellent table without a moment's delay. The ambiance and decor are perfectly lovely, creating a serene, inviting atmosphere that I took to immediately. My waiter was incredibly attentive and assured me of the kitchen's commitment to authentic Asian cuisine. Upon his superb recommendation, I decided on the Beef Tendon. It was prepared beautifully rich, flavorful, and executed with impressive skill. Between the flawless service, the delightful setting, and the exceptional culinary standard, I am completely charmed. I shall certainly be making this a regular stop on my lunch rotation. Highly recommended

We understand the restaurant was busy, but no one checked on us or our order during that time. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. We ordered steamed rice but were given old fried rice instead. The orange chicken was soggy and cold, the pork belly lacked flavor, and the pork ribs tasted old and gamey. Our young children were very patient, but we were starving and still couldn't finish the food. Shortly after, our entire family experienced stomach discomfort. Having traveled to Taiwan, we were hoping for authentic food, but this restaurant did not meet expectations. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

I loved this place and got quite inebriated while I was loving it so much…read more Good news is that I walked here from my hotel room and could just walk back. Now... if only I could remember where I am staying. LOL. Just kidding! I made it. I got so lit in Japanese whiskey flights that I ordered enough food for two people. The "Flight to Tokyo" lived up to its namesake tremendously. That dang whiskey is wicked man. Combined with the beers that go down like water and you may be like me.... Wasted Soup dumplings are so damn cool. It's also either an engineering marvel or some sort of biblical miracle. How is the soup born inside the little dumpling?? So many questions!! I had some here and they were sure tasty!! I also had some killer crispy fried pork belly and some kick ass twice fried Korean wings!! Pork belly had tremendous umami flavors and was sticky sweet and yummy all at once! Loved it! But then came the Star.... I love chicken wings as much as I love life! That my friend, is a whole fucking lot!! I am more full of myself than you could possibly imagine. I loved these particular chicken wings a little more than life. I walked through downtown Nashville alone, on a random weeknight, just to eat these wings because I saw them on Yelp. I had already eaten dinner at Eddie V's earlier in the evening, but these wings called me from more than a mile away... Come eat me, Adam.... Is all I could hear after I saw others pictures of the wings.... Shhhh. Wings. I can't. But you must, said the wings.... I can't, I have no transportation.... You have two feet still, the wings said... Guess who won that argument? '26 - 23

The ambience is bright and energetic, with fun neon signs and decor. The space feels open and spacious with plenty of seating. We started our night with the Pork Belly Bao Buns, but since they were out of pork belly, we tried the Chinese BBQ Pork instead. I wasn't upset because they were phenomenal. The Soup Dumplings were just as amazing, but the Roti Canai (Malaysian flatbreads with curry sauce) stole the show. The curry was rich with the perfect amount of spice. You're missing out if you skip the appetizers here. For my entrée, I ordered the Hong Kong Wonton Noodle Soup, and all I can say is wow. The broth and tender wontons were the perfect combination. My boyfriend loved his Pad Thai as well, and the only downside was the portion size for the price. I want to give a huge shoutout to our server, Jaylen, for making the experience top-notch. He was incredibly attentive, patient, and offered great recommendations through the night. Hawkers is on my list for date nights, ladies' nights, or a casual evening out (especially for drinks and appetizers!)

I'm not saying it as good as my mamas cooking but it's almost as good if I'm looking for something that's hard to make hard to find that you may have seen at some party you went to this is the place to stop at. The food was good as usual. Service was great. They're helpful and attentive and as quick as they can be. I would recommend that you go in and take a visit and try some real food. The restaurant is a little out-of-the-way a little inconspicuous looking but well worth searching and finding your way there. If you want to try as close as you can get to eating at my mom's house go there and try it out and give them a chance. The food is good. The price is reasonable. You won't regret it. It's a small place but I think with advance notice they can accommodate large parties. Before I leave this review- this has to be the best Thai Tea I've had in many years. About 30 min outside of Nashville city center but totally worth the trip! Family owned and operated for over a decade+, they have a strong local following so it was nice to see a packed house of repeat customers despite the icey cold weather! They had been closed for a few days due to really harsh winter weather conditions so I was so happy to see them open this day! Ordered a bit of everything since my stomach could not decide on just one thing as everything on their menu all sounded so appetizing! Ordered the fried appetizer sampler, I was solo dining but this was definitely enough for 2-4 ppl to share. Wasn't in the mood for noodles but ordered a bowl of just the pho broth. The broth was very rich, a tad too salty and a bit too much cinnamon for my taste but it still warmed me right up! For lunch the pork laap salad with a side of sticky rice at a level 5 spicy was just pure perfection. The balance of flavors was spot on and the kick of heat from the spice level really took it to a notch! Also ordered their whole fried fish of the day and it was beautiful crispy on the outside and tender white flesh on the inside. I will for sure be back here to try their other dishes when I'm back down in the Nashville area for work!

China Moon is tucked in a corner of a small shopping plaza and is easily missed because it is hidden. There's plenty of parking. Our order was ready within 15 minutes and sure enough, was waiting for us when we arrived. The employee was nice and offered any sauces to go with it. Our food was hot and the order was correct. The food was really good! It's been awhile since we had decent Chinese food. The only two things I wasn't crazy about were the soups (nearly flavorless even with soy sauce) and the fried rice (also flavorless). Otherwise, the actual meals were very good and everything was cooked properly. I especially favored the chicken with mushrooms.
