    Hot pot with spicy broth
    Jacquelyn M.

Fun, casual hot pot experience. I'm used to a hot pot restaurant with the broth in an warmer at the table, this is a bit different, you pick out your vegetables protein and noodles from a salad bar and then choose your broth when you food gets weighed (in my group of 7 most bowls weighed around 2lb). They cook your food in the broth and then bring out your bowls. You can further customize your flavors with dipping sauces. It was delicious! I ordered the spicy broth and my daughter ordered the peppercorn broth which we think was Szechuan peppercorns. Everything was amazing! Service was quick and friendly XO d

I got hungry after shopping at the Painted Tree. I found this place by accident because it was in the same strip mall. My server asked if it was my first time here. If you have any questions, just ask your server. I was a bit surprised that the price was a bit high for a casual restaurant like this. Well, let's t give this place a shot. I ordered Hunan stir-fried pork belly with green pepper. The portion was pretty big. I paid close to $30 with tip for a lunch with water. That was very expensive for a person. (Inflation price?? I don't know) The food was delicious and pretty authentic. This dish was rated 1 spicy level but it was spicier than a level 1 according to a Thai girl who eat a very spicy Thai food. If you are sensitive to spicy food, please let them know. Oh...if you ordered just a glass of water, it had a hint of lemon in there. That was pretty nice. Will I be back? Yes, of course but I won't come here alone like this time. Good food is meant to be shared with friends and family.

I have been meaning to stop by and finally glad we did! Service was great! When we were there - lots of pick up orders. If you're dining in then you can take a seat and a wait staff will be provide a menu. The food was all good - flavorful and not greasy. Tried their already pre-set beef soup and it was delicious. Fantastic broth! Loved the condiments available on the table. They also have the option to self serve and have your soup ingredients weighed which is cool. Beef roll is also outstanding and lots of beef inside. Liked their Boba tea choices and it was delicious. On the sweeter side but you can always ask for it to be less sweetened! All in all - great spot for soup!

After seeing ppl posting on social media about an authentic Chinese in Franklin, had to try it for myself to the judge. Upon ordering, I studied the menu and went with my personal favs, salt & pepper shrimp (10/10 for the flavor & large portion & shrimps were huge), snow pea tips (9/10, these were great, nicely cooked & not overly salty), and lomein combo (7.5/10, these were good but could better needs a bit more umami flavor). I did get adventurous and order the sour fish soup (9/10, surprised good, swai fish was very tender, the cabbage was a nice & slightly sour, the broth had lots of garlic pieces that I loved and some noodles that paired well with the brothy slightly spicy soup). The dishes seems pricy until you see the large portions. My family will be eating on these leftovers again for a couple more meals so worth it, we will be back! The staff were very friendly and helpful! They seem like they really care about their customers & hope you will enjoy the food. Love supporting local authentic restaurants & small businesses like them.

Came here for lunch on a weekday and the place was pretty empty. Really grateful for authentic Chinese food in the area, but our food was underwhelming. You order at the front and grab a seat, then they'll bring the food to you. We got the rice noodles, and we noticed some other tables had the individual hotpot where you can pick out your ingredients. A lot of the rice noodle ingredients they gave were canned meats and not many fresher ingredients. The quail eggs were very mushy inside and tasted very sour and off. The wood ear mushrooms also tasted odd and slightly bitter, so I didn't eat them. Overall, service was good and the place was clean, but I don't know if I'll come again due to lack of freshness of ingredients.

Make your own hot pot. This visit primarily seafood items.

Never been to China but I speculate this is what authentic Chinese food must taste and look like (including the Chinese TV's channels as part of the decor). First time I visited I did the hot pot off the buffet with mainly seafood items (see image). While they have the eponymous hot pot in their name they are much more than hot pot cuisine. On subsequent visits we ordered off the chalkboard menu of daily specials or the colorful menu. The service is excellent as they encourage you to ask questions. They use very fresh ingredients and you will get lots of them but you will pay dearly. Given the size of the portions, in their own way it is a family restaurant. A better description of the restaurant would be Changhong Spicy Hot Pot and Chinese Food Family Restaurant.

Supposedly 'beef' and broccoli floating in a sea of brown sauce.

Researched the area for a good Chinese restaurant. This place had four stars, so we decided to try it. I ordered the beef and broccoli from the Asian Classics section of the menu. Having dined at great Chinese restaurants in NY, LA and San Francisco, my expectations were low. But even the lowest of expectations far exceeded the meal I was served at Changhong. My first taste of the beef tasted like a slab of fat. This was followed by bite after bite of gelatinous planks of goo. My wife wanted to try a bite and she couldn't cut through it with the side of her fork. She said it tasted like flavorless rubber and questioned if it was actually meat. Every single slice of beef had the same consistency. The waitress, who was lovely, tried to explain that the meat was sliced thin and that the chef added starch. I'm not buying it. And we are not returning. .

Very authentic. Speaking Mandarin would help. Pay by the pound. Got the Spicy soup with my veggies and meat. Great quality. About 4 degrees cooler than the sun!!! Had 5 glasses of water and I'm still on fire. Quality great. Would not order the spicy. Water glasses are about 4 ounces, needs to be about a quart. Friendly staff and clean.

I think everyone in Franklin needs to try hotpot. It is one of the most sought out restaurants for me whenever I visit a new city. This hot pot did not disappoint. The food was comforting and plenty! I ate to my hearts content. The broth felt like it could cure any cold and I low key wished I had one to put it to the test. I loved this place so much that I planned on eating here twice.

If you are unfamiliar with this chain, think Chipotle for pasta, but it is not made in front of you. They have a bit of prepared pastas, but you can also create your own. Noodles and Company is a quick serve spot that serves purpose when the regular rotation of week night dinners runs a bit stale. The location itself needs some TLC as it is worn from ripped and torn seating, cabinet doors falling off of the drink station, stained ceiling tiles and dirty floors. The place needs some conditional love. Cleanliness was decent throughout with the exception of filthy entry windows and doors. Food wise I went with the Pesto Cavatappi and a side of garlic bread to go. Portions could be a bit larger, but that is why I added the garlic cheese bread. Pasta's are priced as is then there is an additional charge for protein. Your average pasta with protein will run you around $12. I enjoyed the pesto pasta and the chicken was lightly breaded and portioned well for the pasta. The garlic bread was a bit soggy and the cheese came off with one bite, and not in the cool "cheese pull" kind of way. Service was "meh". They were on their phones watching videos loudly while customers waited to be noticed at the counter. Overall, Noodles and Company is just okay. Definitely has potential to be added to a quick and easy weeknight dinner rotation, but they need to make a few adjustments.

From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. The first thing that stood out was their small plate concept, and I absolutely loved it. I enjoy trying a variety of dishes instead of committing to just one entrée, and this concept is something I wish more restaurants would adopt. We ended up trying almost half the menu and loved nearly every dish. A huge shout-out to our server, Nestor. He welcomed us warmly, was cheerful throughout the evening, and his recommendations were spot on. He truly made the dinner even more enjoyable. We started with a couple of mocktails, and the Purple Haze was refreshing and delicious. Here are some of our favorites: MI Cucumber - Smashed cucumber with soy dressing, crunchy chili oil, and cilantro. Simple, refreshing, and packed with flavor. Plantain - Fried plantains topped with sriracha goat cheese, cilantro, and crunchy gremolata. The sriracha goat cheese paired perfectly with the sweet plantains. K-Pop Chicken - Korean sweet and spicy popcorn chicken with great flavor and a perfect balance of sweetness and heat. Dumplings - Homemade steamed dumplings with edamame, truffle, yuzu ponzu, and garlic confit. I really enjoyed the truffle flavor, though it may not be for everyone. Kimchi Bacon Risotto - Caramelized kimchi, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, and shrimp. One of the best dishes of the night--perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. Crispy Spicy Tuna - Spicy mayo tuna served over crispy rice. This was one of the highlights of the meal. The crispy rice was absolutely perfect. Cauliflower Taco - Crispy cauliflower with guacamole, creamy miso, and tsiran spice. The filling was flavorful, and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly. Lamb Chops - This was the only dish that felt average. The lamb was cooked well, but it was missing a bit of flavor. A little more seasoning, especially some salt, would have really elevated the dish. To finish the meal, we had the Banana Pudding with Vanilla Gelato, which was a delicious and satisfying way to end dinner. Overall, MI Kitchen completely exceeded our expectations. Amazing food, a fun small-plate concept, and outstanding service from Nestor made this a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu!

It's one of those places where everything is packed with flavor and every dish feels a little special. The Mi cucumber is absolutely to die for--especially when you put it on top of the dumplings. Trust me on that combo! The K-Pop chicken is AMAZING and a must-order every time. The arancini has such a flavorful and unique twist that really stands out. The spring roll was delicious too, full of flavor with just the right amount of spice. And the tacos... you cannot skip them. The beef tacos are incredible, and the cauliflower tacos are just as good. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything here. On top of the fantastic food, the service is always great--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommend!! Be sure to make a reservation!

Everything tasted fresh, no complaints there. However, I had an issue with the portion size to price ratio. My fiancé and I both ordered the regular sized pho. They have a smaller size and a regular size and we 100% ordered regular size. Now, I don't know if something got mixed up, but assuming I got the correct order, a regular size portion is a shallow takeout container with noodles and the toppings and 16oz of broth. That amount of broth is enough to barely cover everything in the already shallow bowl. Also, the bao bun, while super tasty, cost $4.25 and we got one piece of pork belly on it which I was a little sad about! The coconut pudding, also super tasty, was pretty small too and cost $3.00. However, it is a filling dessert so I can understand that pricing and portion sizes. Again, overall this place is good, but I think I've just been a bit more spoiled with other Pho spots I've been to. I've had a lot of places give me a lot more bang for my buck.
