We are regulars at Corner Asian. This restaurant is phenomenal. The waitresses are wonderful kind and efficient people. Today I opened up Y *LP and the top review that came up was a negative review from 2 freaking years ago. How is that even fair? My son owned a bar / restaurant and he despised Y* LP because he said they try to get business to pay them to curate reviews or show what they want. I think I saw a review 2 years ago from Jackie S complaining about the orange chicken. Saying something stupid like if you removed the breading the chicken is bland. Well that's dumb. The breading and sauce is what orange chicken is all about. It is not my favorite but other people in my family rave about how delicious it is made here. Not once in the many years we have been have we ever been disappointed. Their wontons are the bomb! They have American favorites and also lots of traditional dishes. We love having this place and it is honestly our very favorite in all of Brentwood and Franklin. We usually do dine in but their take out business is off the chain. Enjoy your meal. I've been wanting to come sit down here for a while. I've had food to go at parties but this is the first time inside. I was not disappointed! The food was fantastic and was very happy with everything I got! They have both authentic and americanized dishes to please all palates. We ordered an array of dishes and every single one was a banger! Beef tendon and shank, dumplings, mapo tofu, clams, pepper ribs, and stir fry beef. The shop itself was small quiet and cozy. My family dined here on Christmas Eve. We waited over two hours for our food while watching several families who arrived after us eat and leave. We understand the restaurant was busy, but no one checked on us or our order during that time. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. We ordered steamed rice but were given old fried rice instead. The orange chicken was soggy and cold, the pork belly lacked flavor, and the pork ribs tasted old and gamey. Our young children were very patient, but we were starving and still couldn't finish the food. Shortly after, our entire family experienced stomach discomfort. Having traveled to Taiwan, we were hoping for authentic food, but this restaurant did not meet expectations. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. read more

We ordered from the "front" of the menu, which I consider to be the more Americanized version, and we started recalling similar meals from Five Happiness, which was our favorite Chinese food restaurant when we lived in New Orleans. The service here is excellent and always courageous. The ambiance has never changed in 12 yrs. Same table setup and very low noise levels. Good lighting and a good place to eat and have a conversation. I cannot say enough about how good the food is. Every dish is consistent. The hot and sour soup was as good today as it was when I first ate it 12 years ago. The chengdu beef was excellent as always and the same with the pepper chicken. If it says spicy and you don't specify that you don't want it spicy you need to speak up. Please patronize this family run business I promise you will not be disappointed. I have visited this place twice in a week. That's how good the food is. There are 2 sides of the menu. The main ones is more like an American-Chinese menu like Orange chicken. The second side is the real deal Chinese cuisine. The first visit I came here alone so I only ordered stir-fried eggplant and beef tendon and shank with hot oil. The portions were pretty big. I had a leftovers for 2 other meals. The second visit I brought my husband with me so we could order more food! We ordered roasted pork belly with mustard greens, stir-fried string beans, classic dumplings, stir fried eggplant, and clams with black beans. Wow...everything was delicious. The food here has its natural umami flavor. They are not drenched in sugar and all the sauces. Some people might consider it as "bland" but for us it was delicious! Well, I don't know about the other American-Chinese dishes since I didn't order them. It might be sweet like it always is. We'd heard about this place from our friends who have traveled extensively and lived in China as being the best Chinese restaurant in the greater Nashville area. After having lived here for nearly 15 years (and having lived in NYC for 7) I have to agree. The food was wonderful and very different than any other Chinese food I've had in Nashville. It didn't resemble the predictable, over-sauced Americanized Chinese food that can be found everywhere. It isn't high-brow cuisine - just a very nice, lovingly prepared version of Szechuan food. The service was great - our server was exceedingly kind with our daughter who had recently learned a couple of Chinese children's songs, singing a couple of songs along with her. This is more than your takeout Chinese joint. While they have all the American Chinese classics, their Szechuan menu is tasty and are reasonably priced. They balance nicely between the southern regulars and the Chinese locals looking for something familiar (I don't fit either). Service is efficient and we will be back. read more

This place has a been a neighborhood staple serving the Brentwood and Nolensville community since I have live on this side of town. The food is always good and always consistent. The staff is very friendly and quite frankly is hard to enjoy Chinese food anywhere else. They have a huge menu. We have been coming here for many years! We make the 45 minute drive from west Nashville for the best authentic Chinese food in Nashville. The food is amazing and so are the people. We always get the same things and add a different dish to try each time we go. We try to go once a month if we are lucky. I do love this place but today I was insulted by the owner. I am pregnant, and starving. I ordered two meals for myself as I wanted to have leftovers for later and tomorrow, and I was laughed at, and asked "you know you ordering two meals?" Uh, duh!!!! I have heard that this is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in Nashville area but sadly it is definitely not authentic. I appreciate the restaurant trying but sadly to date I haven't found any authentic Chinese restaurants in Nashville. I came here twice while working nearby. One time I had the Singapore meifun lunch special which was average. It came with a small soup which I appreciate. While I was there I saw that they had my childhood favorite dish on their chef special (aka their authentic menu) and I decided to come back for lunch on a different day. Sadly it was too sweet and tasted nothing like the authentic version of fish fragrant pork. People who work there were nice though. I'd say if you live in Nashville and are looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant then don't waste your gas driving all the way out here. read more

With a menu featuring both Americanized and traditional offerings they should have something for everyone. Big standout for me was the chongqing spicy chicken. It is nice to find Corner Asian Cafe has one of the more authentic menus in the area. They also have many of the standard Chinese take-out options for those comfort/guilty pleasure meals - or in my case for kids who eat limited amounts of spice. Most of my orders include veggies and seafood from the Traditional Chinese menu. The fish filet with hot pepper and eggplant with garlic sauce are hits, and the lo mein noodles are always a hit with the the young crowd. As someone else mentions, some dishes are sweetened for the local taste, but I have had luck asking that dishes be made less sweet. The prices are reasonable and the service is generally quick. Service comes with a smile - much appreciated! Even during dinner rush, delays for carry out are minimal - usually less than what I need to drive out to their location, which is a little off my normal paths. read more

This place has remained my favorite Chinese restaurant for probably 8 years or so. I'm so thankful they maintain their quality and I'll continue driving all the way down from downtown Nashville to Brentwood for their food. Chinese is so hard to find in Middle TN. I get the Chengdu Spicy Beef which has caramelized garlic slices, carrots and jalapenos together with a perfectly seared beef in a rich spicy dark sauce. So nice! I really recommend that you try it. Corner Asian Café is probably my family's most visited restaurant in the area. They used to have a location close to our house, but after re-opening half an hour away, we still make frequent visits. Their mapo tofu is easily the best mapo tofu I have had in Nashville. The service is always quick and super friendly. I also always order the green onion pancakes, which are so amazing. I only take off a star because the food isn't super consistent, it's always good, but sometimes it's more salty or oily than it was the last time. While you may be looking for a takeout spot, their dining room is very nice, and never too crowded. I would definitely order off the back of the menu, where they have more authentic dishes, but I am sure everything they make is wonderful. Please stop in, I can't afford them having to move another half hour out ;) read more

Great spot for Chinese. I've only had their authentic menu but I have not been since before Covid but they have ramped up quite a bit since my last visit. The portion sizes are huge. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. We had the beef noodle soup, fish in hot oil, cumin lamb, ma po tofu, and classic dumplings. Needless to say it was more than enough food and it was all very delicious. It was hot, the fish was crispy, the beef was tender, and it all went well together. Service is very direct but quick.
