Clams in black bean sauce
Mark M.

Small place with both take out and cozy dine in area. Service was prompt and attentive. My daughter enjoyed her Singapore noodles. I opted for clams and black bean sauce which was quite tasty . Would gladly come again !

Hot & sour soup done perfectly

The service here is excellent and always courageous. The ambiance has never changed in 12 yrs. Same table setup and very low noise levels. Good lighting and a good place to eat and have a conversation. I cannot say enough about how good the food is. Every dish is consistent. The hot and sour soup was as good today as it was when I first ate it 12 years ago. The chengdu beef was excellent as always and the same with the pepper chicken. If it says spicy and you don't specify that you don't want it spicy you need to speak up. Please patronize this family run business I promise you will not be disappointed. It has been 12 years worth of meal here and I have never been sorry once.

Beef Tendon and Shank

I have visited this place twice in a week. That's how good the food is. There are 2 sides of the menu. The main ones is more like an American-Chinese menu like Orange chicken. The second side is the real deal Chinese cuisine. The first visit I came here alone so I only ordered stir-fried eggplant and beef tendon and shank with hot oil. The portions were pretty big. I had a leftovers for 2 other meals. The second visit I brought my husband with me so we could order more food! We ordered roasted pork belly with mustard greens, stir-fried string beans, classic dumplings, stir fried eggplant, and clams with black beans. Wow...everything was delicious. The food here has its natural umami flavor. They are not drenched in sugar and all the sauces. Some people might consider it as "bland" but for us it was delicious! Well, I don't know about the other American-Chinese dishes since I didn't order them. It might be sweet like it always is. Maybe try it yourself :) Overall, the restaurant was clean and the service was excellent.

Clams with Fermented Beans

I crave their beef noodle soup. The broth is so tasty and great when the weather starts cooling down. All the food is authentic and the owners are so friendly. It's in a shopping complex so my family avoided for a long time. We regret we didn't find this place sooner. It's now my go to chinese restaurant whenever we are in Brentwood

Good quality ingredients. Well prepared fare. A bit expensive but better than most Chinese restaurants in Nashville.

LA level dumplings and bao!…read more This place is a small fantastic dumpling place with great service and insane food. Small menu but they do everything to such a high level. We ordered 30 dumplings - 20 chicken, 10 pork. Pork Bao. Edamame. Cucumber salad. And Sticky rice. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The cucumber salad is insane! Also for all that food it was really reasonably priced. We spoke to the daughter of Mama Yang and Daughter and she was so lovely and told us all about how her mom has worked so hard to get these recipes right. So good I bought some of their frozen items to take home with me! This place is an absolute must try. We will be back and looking forward to attending their next dumpling making class!

Their buns are seriously the best anywhere I've had outside of major Chinatowns or being in Asia. They only relatively recently took over the yin yang boba tea location in Germantown for their first brick & mortar so I was excited to get a spot with my wife to participate in one of their seldom offered dumpling making classes. The class was so fun & even though I was hot trash at doing the folds the dumplings turned out delicious. It's perfect for beginners like myself & the steps were simple & they coached everybody through the methods. After we ate the dumplings everybody made I bought two frozen bags of the aforementioned bao buns to enjoy at a later time. Please stop by & give them business as they have the best bao & dumplings in town & are so nice.

It was an interesting restaurant as we walked in. The decor didn't come across as Chinese. I'm glad my daughter was familiar with the place because I would not have known to go to the back counter to order. I tried asking a couple things about the menu but could not understand the worker that well. It seemed that he couldn't understand me either because he initially put in the wrong orders -- my daughter caught it before we paid. Very reasonable prices. I ordered the Roast Duck Noodles with the Marinated Egg added. My daughter got her usual "Build a Bowl" of Chong Qing Broth, Sliced Noodles, Steak and Fried Egg. I thought I had ordered a Shrimp Wonton appetizer, but a bowl of soup arrived. After asking the worker about it, he just kept saying it was soup (I know), so I just left that alone. Overall quite delicious -- very authentic Chinese flavors. Excellent house made noodles. The depth of flavor in the broths was fantastic. The proteins were seasoned nicely and cooked well. The bok choy in my soup still had a nice bite. The fried egg was crispy on the edges and perfectly runny in the middle. Unfortunately, I found the marinated egg too salty. Service was minimal -- after ordering, the food comes out and that's it. If you need something, you have to get up to ask. No one checks in. The area wasn't busy when we arrived, so parking was very easy right in front. I'm told it does get tough during peak times. I would definitely return for the food, not the service.

But Eat Bubbles gave us A LOT of boba, perfect sweetness, and lots of flavor. This place also has a cute ambiance, tables and seating, which Bubble Love doesn't. The workers are quite fast, and very kind. They have more workers than Bubble Love, so it goes a Lot faster. You can also adjust the sweetness. They use organic brown sugar and make their own simple syrups, not just the sweetened powder, and REAL tea, while Bubble Love uses the powder+smaller boba. Overall, Eat Bubbles has a way better taste and is healthier, so go there even if it's a bit of a drive. Worth it!

There's plenty of paid…read moreparking around the mall, but don't get tricked: Most businesses in the mall give 3 hours of free validated parking. Eat Bubbles in particular has a QR code displayed prominently at the front counter to activate parking. The menu here is a little more advanced than the typical first generation American boba shop. They offer plenty of choices and allow sweetness and ice level adjustments. One thing I found to be nonobvious - all drinks under the "Fresh Brewed Teas" menu section are milk tea. They use lactose-free milk by default, which is a huge boon to people like me with lactose intolerance! Assam Milk Tea, Large, 50% Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($7) - This drink has an interesting milk tea flavor that is a bit of a departure from a standard Assam. Instead of a fruity finish, this tea has a bit of a malty overtone, more pleasingly brown and earthy. It's a very thick drink and feels more rich than what only adding milk would be able to do. I believe they brew tea each morning and then fill individual pitchers for service. 50% sweet is a bit too sweet for my tastes with the additional sugar from the boba. It's not cloying, however. The boba is overall strange and not in a good way. The pearls are very inconsistent in both size and texture. In all cases, the pearls have soft exteriors, some approaching mushy, while others are okay. The interiors range from being too hard to almost mushy. The sizing of the boba is also variable, from small pebbles, to larger spheres. The boba is marinated for a long time, however, giving a somewhat minerally or perhaps herbal quality to them. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating 3/5 There aren't too many boba shops in Nashville, so while I wasn't enthralled with the drink, I think it's probably good for the area.

Almost always packed, even right before closing. I've done delivery a couple of times before finally showing up in person. (And now regret I ever did delivery. Pickup is easy and the fees are not worth it.) Menu is tight and purposeful: banh mi, pho, rice noodle bowls, a handful of appetizers, all inexpensive. The boba and fruit teas are an influencer's dream: colorful, instagrammable, with lots of interesting flavors to choose from. But the real draw here is the made-fresh-daily mochi donuts, and the flavor lineup leans decidedly international: taro glaze, Dubai chocolate, strawberry pocky, pistachio. My personal favorite is actually the plain sugar (maximum chewy mochi mouthfeel), but the fancier ones hold up, too. Miles better than what the nearby chain Asian bakeries are doing, and I have eaten at a lot of those. All that said, the actual food is not an afterthought. The tofu banh mi ($8.95) has become a genuine addiction, on what tastes like real, homemade French bread. Ordered on their website, ready in 15 minutes, waiting at the counter 2 minutes after I walked in. The 1 friction point: the space gets crowded enough that navigating to the counter for pickup is a little awkward. Parking is easy (massive shared lot), staff is warm and fast. Would be in very regular rotation if it weren't slightly out of my way, and it's well worth the effort.
