    13.Beef Lo Mein Lunch Special

Classic Chinese food. I got a takeout order of the lunch special beef lo mein and it came with a side of rice, 2 egg rolls and a cheese wonton. I started making mukbang videos for my new YouTube channel (check my bio!) and got some decent content from this meal. The beef and lo mein were very tasty.

We got takeout from here last night... First, huge portions! I got the sesame tofu with vegetables ($2 extra). It was probably 2 tofu blocks worth of tofu plus a good mix of veggies. The sauce was pretty typical - nothing extraordinary and on the thinner side. Tofu was fried nicely. We also ordered the dinner portion of combination lo mein. It came with tons of rice and a wide variety of meats. Huge portion overall. We got chicken not the ordered steamed dumplings, but my boyfriend still enjoyed them. The veggie egg rolls I got were pretty basic but still crispy and tasty. It's very much a hole in the wall, small stop on the road with bars on the windows and storage everywhere. None of that is bad - just giving an idea of the inside atmosphere. The workers are all super friendly, and the place seemed clean. It's definitely a takeout spot.

Best Chinese nearby. Seriously would drive in a blizzard to eat here.

This place is a diamond in the rough. Seriously, the food is always so fresh and so dang delicious. The owners are so kind and so hospitable. If we have to wait a little longer for our fresh food, they offer us drinks while we wait in the car. The flavors in their kung pao tofu is amazzzzzing. The hot and sour soup is literally my favorite hot and sour in the whole city, and trust me, I have tried a lot of hot and sour. I could go on an on, but honestly, just try it for yourself. I had this review sitting here for months and never posted it as a result I had to work through my 30,000 photos to find a photo of their dish. I'm ordering tonight so I'll post more photos, but honestly, you can't go wrong with this spot. My go to's at this spot--Kung Pao tofu (spicy and EXTRA flavorful), sesame tofu (sweet, but you can ask them to make anything spicy to your liking), fried rice (why not, but my partner likes the combination fried rice), mixed vegetables, any of the noodle dishes, and DEFINITELY the HOT AND SOUR SOUP. I legitimately searched the city for the best hot and sour soup and I believe this place has it. Hitting this spot tonight and I'm going to order all my favorites--more photos to come.

Ever have that 'diamond in the rough' moment? I did! I was searching for a dollar scoop type place, just some fast food Chinese. I drove by seeing a bright yellow sign on Federal. Now this area is getting a massive face-lift. They have redone the road to make it look like a highway. There are now three lanes north and south on Federal between Colfax and Alameda, maybe even further. This little establishment is easy to miss. It is on the East side of Federal. There is a small parking lot that it shares with another business. They do have outdoor seating, but in the winter, NO THANK YOU! There is a double door to go inside. Seating is very limited, about 5-6 booths and one table. They do have restrooms, but I cannot speak to them yet. This is a family owned business and the ladies (and her son's) are wonderful! The guys seem to be doing the cooking in this business. They do a fantastic job too! You are always greeted when you enter. I have been there when it was packed and when it was slow. Their portions are HUGE! I have not been there during lunch, only dinner. I love the way they cook their noodles. They are clean looking and fresh. Very juicy! Not dry, not hard. Perfectly done! I love the shrimp they have too. Juicy, cooked right. You can also do either a full order or half order of the crab cheese wantons. They fill them full which I love! They have your typical soda for drinks. You can do either a large or small, though I think it is only .25 difference, might as well go big? You can ask about other drinks, they have have tea? A lot of people do carry-out and they offer delivery within a mile I believe. Good to double check. The lady (possibly the owner) also sells some costume type jewelry. She is a very nice lady and I can tell she works hard. Her family has impressed me so much. They are kind and friendly, hard working. I think that was what the 'American Dream' was about for all of us. We work hard, show kindness to one another, be professional and efficient, save up and make our dreams come true! You will NOT be disappointed with their food taste or portions. I highly recommend trying this place. Oh, and their Chinese Donuts are delic too!

The dining room is still closed, they essentially keep the dining room as a storage closet lol. You walk in to pick up your order and they have tables blocking the entry, that's where you pay for your food. The portions are still as giant as ever, and the prices are still affordable. My wife and I had a hankering the other day for our old stomping grounds, so we jetted over there to pickup an order. It was ready in 10 minutes and two meals ran us $32. I think I pay $32 for a good cup of coffee these days!!!!!! I kid, I kid. The meal lasts you for days, you really get two giant sized portions out of it. It will probably last some of you three days. They don't skimp out here and it's incredible. They serve Asian fusion, Chinese American meals that are addictive. Or is that the MSG??? Probably so, and that's why it's delicious. The food is just so damn craveable! Don't break the bank. Get what you really want. Taste of China, we still love you so much.

(Note, they are closed on Tuesdays.) I placed our pickup order on a Saturday night & it was ready in 15 minutes. The restaurant is for take-out only. Our food was in containers & placed in a box. I appreciated this since there was no way anything was going to tip over & spill. Very friendly phone & counter service as well. Note, you get six free Cheese Wontons when your order is more than $40. We ordered three different entrees with three different sides - Steamed White Rice, Fried Rice & Lo Mein Noodles. The sides were good, however the fried rice didn't seem fried, it was white rice with soy sauce. The Sweet & Sour Shrimp Entree was tasty - the shrimp were medium sized, cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce. The Sesame Chicken Entree was even better, the chicken was moist & tender. The beef in the Mongolian Beef Entree was great however there were way too many onions in the dish. Overall, a very satisfying meal.

I am so glad that they are so consistent and have not changed recipes or adjusted seasonings. Ordered our two favorites - pickled pepper beef and mapo tofu. Then the string beans and a new dish - sauerkraut fish filet. The sauerkraut fish filet reminded me of the Vietnamese catfish soup but no sweetness added. Very good dish and will def order again. Also love that they have quality rice here.

Decided to come here because I was craving Chinese food and heard good things about this place…read more Figured I'd give it a try. We ordered the fried tofu (with peppers and onions), orange chicken, fried fish fillet, and veggie delight (mixed veggies). The fried fish fillet was definitely the standout. Perfectly crispy on the outside with a light, tangy layer of sauce that added flavor without making it soggy. Easily my favorite dish of the meal. The fried tofu was also really solid and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The peppers and onions complemented it well without overpowering the tofu itself. The orange chicken was okay. I tend to compare orange chicken to Panda Express (probably unfair, but it's my benchmark), and this one didn't quite hit that same balance of crispiness and sauce. I think if it had a bit more meat within each piece, would be better. The mixed vegetables were decent but not something I'd order again. They felt a bit drenched in sauce and didn't have much depth in flavor. One of the highlights of the visit was meeting an elderly woman who helps out when it gets busy. She mentioned she was the former owner. She was incredibly kind, and we ended up having a really nice conversation in Mandarin. That personal touch made the experience even more memorable. Otherwise, really nice venue with lots of space and tables. Waiters always refilled my water, which is a good plus. Also gave me fresh rice when I took the leftovers to go. Overall, a solid meal with a couple standout dishes. I'd definitely come back for the fried fish fillet and tofu. Will be back to try their other dishes.

The pork and mushroom dumplings were rich and deeply savory, but the real standout was the chicken and corn, absolutely packed with flavor and perfectly executed. We also ordered the shrimp fried rice, which exceeded expectations. It featured plentiful, full-sized shrimp and a generous portion size that makes it incredibly easy to share. Between the excellent food and the lively atmosphere, we had a great experience and will absolutely be back to explore more of the menu.

I can only assume that the fact that it's dim sum means that they've just got a ton of this stuff on hand and we placed our order it was definitely the busiest time of the night, but it was ready in 20 minutes. Got everything home, it was packed very conveniently for takeout, still hot, still great. Everything was amazing. I'm not gonna recommend anything in particular because it's dim sum. You should order everything you should try everything it's worth it. Nothing was bad. When I'm eating dim sum I want to be impulsive and just eat whatever's in front of me and you can do this with this menu. Now I did go into the restaurant to pick up my order and I will say ambience was very cool, I really would like to come back and actually di e i . It seemed like it would be a great experience.

The chicken soup dumplings, pork potstickers, and the ice cream was all very good! I wasn't such a huge fan of the tufu pork belly noodles. Lately it feels like a lot of restaurants are charging more while giving less, and it's getting harder to find places that actually care about the customer experience. Unfortunately, this was another one of those experiences. We ordered three side dishes and three drinks, and the bill came out to around $100. Two of the three sides were served cold, the dumplings at least came out hot, but they were pretty mediocre and nothing I'd order again and drinks were extremely over priced. The waitress was fine, no real issues there, but it did feel like the food may have been sitting in the kitchen too long before it hit the table even though the place was empty. At the end of the day, it's hard to justify paying that kind of money for cold, underwhelming food, then feeling awkward about the tip because the experience just wasn't good. I won't be back. If I had known this is what the experience was I would have definitely gone somewhere else. As an added bonus I felt like crap afterwords, I think it was because of poor quality ingredients. My aim in writing these reviews is to highlight the restaurants and businesses that truly take care of their customers, to give people a heads up about the ones that clearly do not prioritize quality or the customer experience, and to express myself in a world where it often feels like there is very little room to speak honestly about paying top dollar for mediocre experiences. Very disappointing.
